[ktorrent] [Bug 363852] Ktorrent no longer starts hidden in tray

2019-08-19 Thread Lastique
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=363852

(In reply to kikox1 from comment #8)
> I found an workarround
>
> In application settings for it (in Window Rules) (click right buttom in
> title bar of ktorrent)
>
> Size & Position: minimized - apply initially
> Arrangement & Access: skip taskbar - apply initially

This doesn't work as intended. After these steps Ktorrent never appears in the
taskbar, neither after start, nor after minimizing and restoring.

Size & Position workaround has the tendency to affect other Ktorrent windows
beside the main window. For example, the dialog for adding a new torrent gets
created minimized. You have to create a very specific rule to match just the
main window (in my case, I have to match the window title, and I'm not sure how
stable the title is).

What tablet device do you use? Mind you, you cannot draw smooth lines with a
mouse. Operating system doesn't support precise event reporting for them.

And could you check if Tool Options->Smoothing is set to "Basic Smoothing" for
the Freehand Tool?

Plasma in general moves to KProcessList and in that way the SysGuard dependency
is all dropped. Latte can use that migration for app/wm/tasktools.cpp file as
was presented through: https://phabricator.kde.org/D23185

Take note of course that KProcessList was introduced in KF5>=5.59

As a mid-step it is a good idea that when Latte is built with KF5>=5.59 then
KProcessList is used

Can reproduce on Neon and Manjaro too. :/ If it's so widespread, it's probably
a real bug in Discover rather than all the distros providing bad OCS data.

I cannot reproduce the issue either. That's because the file was corrected in a
later version. See https://cgit.kde.org/konsole.git/tree/data/konsole.knsrc

This is the drawback to using a distro that provides only old versions of KDE
software. See

[kwin] [Bug 395632] On RX Vega 64, KDE compositor does not run at 144Hz even though monitor refresh rate is set to 144Hz

2019-08-19 Thread Roman Gilg
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395632

There is

https://phabricator.kde.org/D23105

(as branch
https://cgit.kde.org/clones/kwin/romangilg/kwin.git/log/?h=glxCleanup)

which is my WIP experimental branch for complete overhaul of compositing. In
the comments to the Phabricator diff you can get some idea on what feedback
would help me there.

And now there is an additional fix for refresh rates in:
https://phabricator.kde.org/D23265
But this should be independent of the bug here since it fixes an issue with
some commit I did after 5.16 branched off (so people on 5.16 or older should
not be affected by that issue). Still it might be good to test master together
with this fix. Maybe it also solves previous issues as well.

SUMMARY
it would be great to have a possibility to switch the default sound output
device by double clicking on its icon in the tray menu.
in my everyday system usage i have to switch all sounds from speakers to
headphones and back, and for now i always have to go the menu and click
'default' to make it happen.
i think that many kde users may find this option useful.

After the 'save As' if you run a select to find transactions that just exists
on kmmTransactions and not in kmmSplits, you will see that some kmmTransactions
don't have related kmmSplits anymore.

select * from kmmTransactions where id not in (select distinct transactionId
from kmmSplits) /*I wrote by mind sorry for mispelling*/

For e.g On ledger screen:

If you check last transaction date (sqlite file) and then last transaction date
after save as (kmy file) you will see these differences:

This difference is perfectly OK since the higher number also includes the
scheduled transactions.

select count(*) from kmmTransactions where txType = 'N'

shows exactly 8486 transactions and

select count(*) from kmmTransactions where txType = 'S'

shows the remaining 5.

2019-08-19 Thread Hernan Schmidt
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411061

On further inverstigation, i have found that it seems to be a problem related
to sorting. The bug presents itself When sorting by Last Accesed, and goes back
to normal when reverting to Name Sorting.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Select details view with expandable folders turned on.

2. Sort by Last Accessed

3. From Home folder, expand a folder by clicking on its tree arrow.

OBSERVED RESULT

The folder contents tree are shown at the bottom of the list under the wrong
folder.

EXPECTED RESULT

The contents should expand immediately under the clicked element, and be sorted
by date of last access.

@Gilles, do you know an application that uses "Xmp.lr.HierarchicalSubject" with
capital letter (H)and as TAG_XMPSEQ? I think that the 2nd alternative in our
advanced metadata should actually be for Darktable and the capital letter is
just a mistake.

Committed, e7dde4bc20bf57b4c1e25801f8462d1519c4fa41. Thanks for the patch.

I took the liberty of adding an extra condition which disallows decoding
if there is an 0x66, 0xF2 or 0xF3 prefix present, which I think should make
it a little safer.

[dolphin] [Bug 411061] New: Tree view expanding under incorrect parent folder

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411061

Bug ID: 411061
Summary: Tree view expanding under incorrect parent folder
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 19.08.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: view-engine: details mode

Tree view expanding under incorrect parent folder

SUMMARY
When expanding a folder in details view, instead of showing the tree
immediately below the clicked element, the tree expands at the end of the file
list, as seen in the attached screen show. This poses an obvious risk since one
is unable to accurately determine the actual folder structure in a visual way.

This bug only happens with certain folders, and so far I have been unable to
identify a pattern or reproduce the problem on other folders.

Unfortunately I cannot outline any steps to reproduce the problem, so it boils
down to expanding random folder trees until the bug shows up.

[krita] [Bug 411059] New: Polygon tool makes one extra point at the end of the path

2019-08-19 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411059

Bug ID: 411059
Summary: Polygon tool makes one extra point at the end of the
path
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.2.5
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Tools/Vector
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: tus...@vista.aero
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
The beginning and ending point of a polygon is not the same point, but two
points that overlaps each other. If you intend to make a (n)-sided polygon by
clicking (n+1) times (last time at the beginning point), it results in a
(n+1)-sided polygon.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a document and add a vector layer.
2. Use polygon tool to make a triangle, by clicking three points on the canvas,
and then clicking the starting point.
3. Switch to path tool.
4. Move the starting point.

OBSERVED RESULT
The triangle becomes a quadrilateral -- there are four points and four sides.

EXPECTED RESULT
It should still be a triangle.

[kwin] [Bug 411058] New: Occasional spurious scroll events in apps under XWayland

2019-08-19 Thread Carl Wilson
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411058

Bug ID: 411058
Summary: Occasional spurious scroll events in apps under
XWayland
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.16.4
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: wayland-generic
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: kaiw...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

I mainly use the two-finger scroll gesture to scroll in applicatios. Since I
began using the Wayland session of KDE in Plasma 5.15.1 / Frameworks 5.55, I
have been triggering a bug that applications running under XWayland sometimes
behave as if I'm scrolling downward.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
This problem happens occasionally, and I'm sorry that I haven't discovered a
reliable way to reproduce it.
1. Open an application that runs under XWayland (such as chromium or firefox)
2. Open a long document
3. Use touchpad to scroll downward. I'm not sure if a long or jerk scroll has a
higher chance to trigger it.

OBSERVED RESULT
If this bug happens, you will see the page scrolling down rapidly even though
fingers are off the touchpad. Moving the cursor to the tab bar of chromium will
cause the tabs to switch rapidly. The bottom of a more-than-thousand-page PDF
document can be reached instantly in firefox.
Performing a two-finger upward scroll will work (cause the page to move upward)
for a moment. But the page will continue to scroll downward after fingers stop
moving upward.

To stop the spurious scrolling, I can type something into the application or
send a Ctrl-T shortcut to chromium. However, once this bug happens, it will be
more often triggered when I scroll downward in applications, until I reboot my
laptop.

Scrolling upward can also trigger the applications to spuriously scroll upward,
nevertheless I mainly scroll downward.

EXPECTED RESULT
Applications scroll normally.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

KDE Plasma Version: 5.16.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.60.0
Qt Version: 5.13.0
libinput version: 1.14.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I'm able to perform tap-to-click in XWayland applications along with the
spurious scrolling.
This bug doesn't affect native wayland applications including dolphin,
konqueror, kate or gedit. That is, moving cursor into these applications won't
cause them to scroll, while moving it into another nearby xwayland window will
cause it to scroll crazily.
However, if I force them into using XWayland by setting GDK_BACKEND=x11 or
QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb, they will scroll downward indefinitely as long as the
cursor is in their windows.
Firefox runs with MOZ_USE_XINPUT2=1. Chromium doesn't use XInput2 because of
https://crbug.com/712737

I have tried applying the kwin patch for bug 404152 to kwin 5.16.4, but I still
triggered this bug moments before.

"Lasso technique " is very used in concept art or speed Painting. Because You
can uuse selections as stencils this way.
You draw very fast a selection add areas to selection or remove as you want.
Then you Paint the selection with textured brush or gradients. Then you move
the selection to another place and transform the selection to distort a bit and
then Paint using it as stencil. That gives a lot of detail fast with textured
brushstrokes and hard edges.

Thanks a lot for your time.

SUMMARY
Elliptical selection tool behaves weird

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create 1900x1080 image, resolution 1000ppi, 32-bit float/channel - Profile
sRGB-elle-V2-g10.icc
2. Make sure tool options are set to: Vector selection
3. Zoom to 400%
4. Start to draw a couple of ellipses

OBSERVED RESULT
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfW5UXnXU90=youtu.be

It seems to be related to the size of the ellipses. When I draw big ones, I
need only around 5 for the effect to appear. When I draw smaller ones it takes
around 7-8. Also works with 3 bigger ellipses on a 400% zoom. Sometimes one
needs to zoom closer AFTER drawing to see the effect

EXPECTED RESULT
Ellipses don't turn into polygons

[digikam] [Bug 402288] The default Xmp.lr.hierarchicalSubject setting does not read darktable tags

2019-08-19 Thread Daniel Laidig
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402288

I was testing with the 6.2.0 Appimage. Thanks for the info that I can add the
same namespace multiple times. This is certainly an improvement for my current
setup. :)

When looking at the default config for Xmp.lr.hierarchicalSubject, I noticed
that Xmp.lr.hierarchicalSubject is set to TAG_XMPBAG and the alternative name
is Xmp.lr.HierarchicalSubject (capitalized) as TAG_XMPSEQ. From what I
understand now, this looks digikam always write the non-capitalized version
only (as Bag) and if not found during reading, it will try to read the
capitalized version as Seq only. Considering that you wrote in comment 1 that
you use the "capitalized alternative Xmp.lr.HierarchicalSubject as Seq" (which
seems not the current behavior any more), doesn't that mean there is another
issue and digikam might not be able to read tags from its own sidecars from
older versions any more?

In any case, while I very much appreciate your comments that help me configure
digikam to be usable for my workflow, I would be very happy if out-of-the-box
compatibility between digikam and other applications is as high as possible. I
guess this would either mean making the reading more fault tolerant or adding
another default entry.

Is as good as possible out-of-the-box compatibility with darktable and other
applications also something you are aiming for or is this something where I
should just tune my config?

Which digiKam version do you use? A namespace can exist multiple times since
some versions. Simply create a new "Xmp.lr.hierarchicalSubject" as "TAG_XMPSEQ"
and move it before the default entry. Then it first tries to read as
"TAG_XMPSEQ" and then falls back to the default entry. The same when writing,
both variants are written.

[digikam] [Bug 402288] The default Xmp.lr.hierarchicalSubject setting does not read darktable tags

I stumbled across the same issue yesterday. In an effort to achieve
compatibility between digikam and darktable, I used Settings > Metadata >
Advanced to only enable Xmp.lr.hierarchicalSubject for tags, only to then find
out that my tags are deleted by a digikam->darktable->digikam roundtrip.

Then I tried the workaround suggested by you, Maik, i.e. creating a new entry
that is a duplicate of Xmp.lr.hierarchicalSubject but with TAG_XMPSEQ instead
of TAG_XMPBAG and enabling only that one. That seems to make the roundtrip
work, but I guess you might lose tags now if they are stored in a
standard-compliant way.

What darktable does, btw, is to accept both Bag and Seq when reading xmp
sidecars but then to always write the sidecar back using a Seq. Wouldn't this
be an option for digikam as well (reading both, saving as Bag)? I see that the
functions MetaEngine::getXmpTagStringSeq and MetaEngine::getXmpTagStringBag are
almost identical. Why not change them so they try to find the specified item
(Bag or Seq) first but if this not found and there is only the other type, this
one is read instead?

I don't have experience to judge if there would be unintended side effects. But
regardless of what is conforming to the standard, I think compatibility and
avoid data loss is more important.

Could you also attach the contents of help->system information for bug reports
to this report? I cannot reproduce the issue on my own test systems.
