[ktorrent] [Bug 363852] Ktorrent no longer starts hidden in tray
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=363852 --- Comment #9 from Lastique --- (In reply to kikox1 from comment #8) > I found an workarround > > In application settings for it (in Window Rules) (click right buttom in > title bar of ktorrent) > > Size & Position: minimized - apply initially > Arrangement & Access: skip taskbar - apply initially This doesn't work as intended. After these steps Ktorrent never appears in the taskbar, neither after start, nor after minimizing and restoring. Size & Position workaround has the tendency to affect other Ktorrent windows beside the main window. For example, the dialog for adding a new torrent gets created minimized. You have to create a very specific rule to match just the main window (in my case, I have to match the window title, and I'm not sure how stable the title is). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 395632] On RX Vega 64, KDE compositor does not run at 144Hz even though monitor refresh rate is set to 144Hz
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395632 --- Comment #51 from Roman Gilg --- There is https://phabricator.kde.org/D23105 (as branch https://cgit.kde.org/clones/kwin/romangilg/kwin.git/log/?h=glxCleanup) which is my WIP experimental branch for complete overhaul of compositing. In the comments to the Phabricator diff you can get some idea on what feedback would help me there. And now there is an additional fix for refresh rates in: https://phabricator.kde.org/D23265 But this should be independent of the bug here since it fixes an issue with some commit I did after 5.16 branched off (so people on 5.16 or older should not be affected by that issue). This poses an obvious risk since one is unable to accurately determine the actual folder structure in a visual way. This bug only happens with certain folders, and so far I have been unable to identify a pattern or reproduce the problem on other folders. If you intend to make a (n)-sided polygon by clicking (n+1) times (last time at the beginning point), it results in a (n+1)-sided polygon. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Create a document and add a vector layer. 2. Use polygon tool to make a triangle, by clicking three points on the canvas, and then clicking the starting point. 3. Switch to path tool. 4. [kwin] [Bug 411058] New: Occasional spurious scroll events in apps under XWayland
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411058 Bug ID: 411058 Summary: Occasional spurious scroll events in apps under XWayland Product: kwin Version: 5.16.4 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: wayland-generic Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: kaiw...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- I mainly use the two-finger scroll gesture to scroll in applicatios. Since I began using the Wayland session of KDE in Plasma 5.15.1 / Frameworks 5.55, I have been triggering a bug that applications running under XWayland sometimes behave as if I'm scrolling downward. STEPS TO REPRODUCE This problem happens occasionally, and I'm sorry that I haven't discovered a reliable way to reproduce it. 1. Open an application that runs under XWayland (such as chromium or firefox) 2. Open a long document 3. Use touchpad to scroll downward. I'm not sure if a long or jerk scroll has a higher chance to trigger it. OBSERVED RESULT If this bug happens, you will see the page scrolling down rapidly even though fingers are off the touchpad. Moving the cursor to the tab bar of chromium will cause the tabs to switch rapidly. The bottom of a more-than-thousand-page PDF document can be reached instantly in firefox. Performing a two-finger upward scroll will work (cause the page to move upward) for a moment. But the page will continue to scroll downward after fingers stop moving upward. To stop the spurious scrolling, I can type something into the application or send a Ctrl-T shortcut to chromium. However, once this bug happens, it will be more often triggered when I scroll downward in applications, until I reboot my laptop. Scrolling upward can also trigger the applications to spuriously scroll upward, nevertheless I mainly scroll downward. EXPECTED RESULT Applications scroll normally. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: 5.2.9-arch1-1-ARCH KDE Plasma Version: 5.16.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.60.0 Qt Version: 5.13.0 libinput version: 1.14.0 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I'm able to perform tap-to-click in XWayland applications along with the spurious scrolling. This bug doesn't affect native wayland applications including dolphin, konqueror, kate or gedit. That is, moving cursor into these applications won't cause them to scroll, while moving it into another nearby xwayland window will cause it to scroll crazily. However, if I force them into using XWayland by setting GDK_BACKEND=x11 or QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb, they will scroll downward indefinitely as long as the cursor is in their windows. Firefox runs with MOZ_USE_XINPUT2=1. Chromium doesn't use XInput2 because of https://crbug.com/712737 I have tried applying the kwin patch for bug 404152 to kwin 5.16.4, but I still triggered this bug moments before. Because You can uuse selections as stencils this way. You draw very fast a selection add areas to selection or remove as you want. Then you Paint the selection with textured brush or gradients. Then you move the selection to another place and transform the selection to distort a bit and then Paint using it as stencil. That gives a lot of detail fast with textured brushstrokes and hard edges. Thanks a lot for your time. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[digikam] [Bug 402288] The default Xmp.lr.hierarchicalSubject setting does not read darktable tags
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402288 --- Comment #5 from Daniel Laidig --- I was testing with the 6.2.0 Appimage. Thanks for the info that I can add the same namespace multiple times. This is certainly an improvement for my current setup. :) When looking at the default config for Xmp.lr.hierarchicalSubject, I noticed that Xmp.lr.hierarchicalSubject is set to TAG_XMPBAG and the alternative name is Xmp.lr.HierarchicalSubject (capitalized) as TAG_XMPSEQ. From what I understand now, this looks digikam always write the non-capitalized version only (as Bag) and if not found during reading, it will try to read the capitalized version as Seq only. Considering that you wrote in comment 1 that you use the "capitalized alternative Xmp.lr.HierarchicalSubject as Seq" (which seems not the current behavior any more), doesn't that mean there is another issue and digikam might not be able to read tags from its own sidecars from older versions any more? In any case, while I very much appreciate your comments that help me configure digikam to be usable for my workflow, I would be very happy if out-of-the-box compatibility between digikam and other applications is as high as possible. I guess this would either mean making the reading more fault tolerant or adding another default entry. Is as good as possible out-of-the-box compatibility with darktable and other applications also something you are aiming for or is this something where I should just tune my config? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[digikam] [Bug 402288] The default Xmp.lr.hierarchicalSubject setting does not read darktable tags
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402288 --- Comment #4 from Maik Qualmann --- Which digiKam version do you use? A namespace can exist multiple times since some versions. Simply create a new "Xmp.lr.hierarchicalSubject" as "TAG_XMPSEQ" and move it before the default entry. Then it first tries to read as "TAG_XMPSEQ" and then falls back to the default entry. The same when writing, both variants are written. Maik -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[digikam] [Bug 402288] The default Xmp.lr.hierarchicalSubject setting does not read darktable tags
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402288 Daniel Laidig changed: What|Removed |Added CC||lai...@kde.org --- Comment #3 from Daniel Laidig --- I stumbled across the same issue yesterday. In an effort to achieve compatibility between digikam and darktable, I used Settings > Metadata > Advanced to only enable Xmp.lr.hierarchicalSubject for tags, only to then find out that my tags are deleted by a digikam->darktable->digikam roundtrip. Then I tried the workaround suggested by you, Maik, i.e. creating a new entry that is a duplicate of Xmp.lr.hierarchicalSubject but with TAG_XMPSEQ instead of TAG_XMPBAG and enabling only that one. That seems to make the roundtrip work, but I guess you might lose tags now if they are stored in a standard-compliant way. What darktable does, btw, is to accept both Bag and Seq when reading xmp sidecars but then to always write the sidecar back using a Seq. Wouldn't this be an option for digikam as well (reading both, saving as Bag)? I see that the functions MetaEngine::getXmpTagStringSeq and MetaEngine::getXmpTagStringBag are almost identical. Why not change them so they try to find the specified item (Bag or Seq) first but if this not found and there is only the other type, this one is read instead? I don't have experience to judge if there would be unintended side effects. But regardless of what is conforming to the standard, I think compatibility and avoid data loss is more important. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
