[konsole] [Bug 411387] Split View crash with keyboard navigation

(In reply to Kurt Hindenburg from comment #6)

const auto handleWidth = parentSplitter->handleWidth() <= 1 ? 4 :...

"? 4" is also worrisome :)

In fact this "4" constant prevent konsole to crash under "Breeze" theme.
When handleWidth = parentSplitter->handleWidth(); is used, konsole crash under
all themes.

I have tested with "const auto handleWidth = parentSplitter->handleWidth() +
3;" and everything seems to work fine.

[krita] [Bug 411779] New: Krita quits and crashes when using big brushes.

2019-09-09 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411779

Bug ID: 411779
Summary: Krita quits and crashes when using big brushes.
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.2.5
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: General
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: carinatooc...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I experienced the crash when using large brush size to draw. Krita would freeze
and closes down unexpectedly. . The brush do lag in some occasion but I don't
think it should cause crash since in other similar software (such as Paintstorm
Studio and Photoshop) the program will now quit and may only froze until the
stroke catch up with the brush cursor. In other cases, Krita would quit even if
the stroke of the large brush is not that severe. I am using Krita 4.2.5
however I had encounter similar crash in the beta version of 4.2.6.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a fairly large canvas, A4 or A3 at 300 dpi, with rgb colour model and
8 bit integer channel.
2. Use any brush, preferably the textured one. I have tried the dry roller
brush and some of the chalk brushes.
3. Increase the brush size to very large of maximum.
4. Starts making huge stroke. I would change the colour occasionally before
making more strokes.
I made a video showing how this crash can be reproduced.
https://youtu.be/B1-1wFFAC9M

OBSERVED RESULT
Brush stroke lags a bit but not too terribly. Then after making a few more,
Krita would froze for a few seconds and then close down without any warning. It
just quits unexpectedly.

EXPECTED RESULT
Brush strokes would lag but will not actually cause Krita to quit. The program
may froze but will return to normal once the stroke had caught up with the
brush cursor.

ones such as Persian.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Just open the Kubuntu installer and change the language into some RTL one such

OBSERVED RESULT
While installing Kubuntu, if the language be set to Persian (and for sure other
RTL languages) the UI gets modified, but the Kubuntu logo doens't move along
with the sidebar to the right.

In case it's helpful info:

I've noticed that when you get the popup notification that is visible for 5
seconds:

If I click the notification tray during that 5 seconds while it's visible,
there is a button under the notification that says 'Activate'. If you click the
'Activate' button, it will take you to the correct link. If you wait for the
popup to go away, the activate button will no longer be available, and you will
not get a relevant link.

I have also noticed a minor difference between Chromium and Firefox:

When I subscribe to the push notifications in Chromium, I do get a link to the
root of the website. In Firefox, there is no link at all.

[krita] [Bug 411776] New: Gaussian Blur Filter Layer Doesn't Wrap Around Canvas like Gaussian Blur Filter Operation

2019-09-09 Thread Eoin O'Neill
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411776

Bug ID: 411776
Summary: Gaussian Blur Filter Layer Doesn't Wrap Around Canvas
like Gaussian Blur Filter Operation
   Product: krita
   Version: git master
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Filter Layers
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: eoinoneill1...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
When working with a wrapping image, you can use the Gaussian Blur filter to
blur the image and preserve looping. However, when using a filter layer
Gaussian Blur, looping will not work as expected.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a layer using Open Simplex Noise with looping enabled.
2. Gaussian Blur the result using the filter operation. The edges should wrap
around as intended.
3. Undo that filter and now add a Gaussian Blur Filter Layer without any mask.
4. You'll notice that this Gaussian blur introduces hard edges at canvas
border, which is the unintended behavior.

EXPECTED RESULT

Both filters should behave the same. Perhaps wrapping around the canvas should
already be a toggle as well to make the intention clear.

So I accidentally added some files to a Dock and now I can't remove them from
the dock. I have provided screenshots to demonstrate what I mean and I have not
deleted the dock in case there is some of tested desired. Why did I do this?
Well I was actually trying to drag and drop the files on another app and
somehow I missed and landed in the dock. I am not sure exactly.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set Dock to Dodge Active
2. Drag files, in my case markdown .md files, from Dolphin to the Dock

Files will be added and not removable and since it isnt an applet there is no
option to remove it in the context menu.

I suppose the thing I would expect is a way to remove it from the dock.

Revert "Remove KisTool::notifyMdified"

This reverts commit 8ef85fdd39aef257ae03a4fe07e9d8c92003e177.

This commit fixes issue with autosave only saving once per manual save.
Possibly it also fixes the issue with editing time being way lower
than expected.

---

Mentioned commit removed sending signal KisImage->notifyModified()
by KisFreehandTool. Turned out that signal was important for autosave
to work correctly and _possibly_ for counting time spent on the painting.

Theoretically this signal should be also sent by strokes, rendering
sending signal here redundant (hence the previous commit with
"It is not used anymore" message). This requires further investigation
and then recommitting these changes after making sure all logic is
performed as before.

Looks like the course of action with the signal from the Freehand tool was
as follows:

   Freehand Tool sends ModifiedSignal
-> Image Signal Router sends sigImageModified()
-> KisDocument catches it and calls setModified( undoStackNotEmpty )
-> KisDocument does a lot of logic and then sends modified()

Supposedly strokes call KisDocument::setModified(...), at least on master.
I can't confirm it because I didn't check the relevant code yet.
But if that's true, that should be enough - all relevant logic happens
inside this function. On the other hand, practice seems to prove
otherwise...

I would say the read-only tab should ignore the Ctrl+D from the master tag. I
still can't get it to crash though.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411202

I am 99% sure by now that the cause is this Qt bug:
https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-76923

It's a regression in 5.12.4 from an attempt to to fix a regression from 5.11,
but ended up making things much worse. It is already reverted in Qt git for
5.12.5, which hopefully releases any day now (like, it's actually planned for
today if I take EU time), I hope krita 4.2.6 can be built with that.
Otherwise we'd have to consider a work around, in theory deleting and
recreating the dialog on each use should work, but from reading that bug, other
things like floating dock widgets are prone to crashes too with that bug.

[kde] [Bug 411774] New: Long-lived YAWP Bug (all flavors) Crashes Plasma

2019-09-09 Thread Walking Turtle
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411774

Bug ID: 411774
Summary: Long-lived YAWP Bug (all flavors) Crashes Plasma
   Product: kde
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: unspecified
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: revwalkingtur...@yandex.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Application: plasma-desktop (4.11.13)
KDE Platform Version: 4.14.2
Qt Version: 4.8.6
Operating System: Linux 4.9.0-0.bpo.9-amd64 x86_64
Distribution: MX-16.1 Metamorphosis

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
I was setting-up YAWP as follows:
1) Invoked Debian Weather Service.
2) Fed it my ZIP code (wrong move).
3) On closing the "No Such Location" panel, the entire Desktop crashed to
blackscreen. Then regenerated itself (minus some recent desktop mods done
following the most recent reboot) due to having set that feature up prior.

- Custom settings of the application: None in particular. Telling the
AccuWeather Service the ZIP worked fine. (I still /will/ go back and try
telling the Debian Service some different Plausible Things.) But the point is
the crashing of the desktop on failure (on the part of the currently-chosen
service)to accept the syntax and/or ZIP code as location data.

Note: This key data requirement varies from service to service. But Yours
truly has observed it across numerous platforms at setup-time over many years.
And no matter what: Do it wrong for /any/ service (variable requirements; do
not know them all yet) and down goes Plasma! And that is all. 0{:-\o[

The crash can be reproduced every time.

[plasma-pa] [Bug 410637] Do not show microphone icon when an application (like PulseEffects) is using a recording PulseAudio sink monitor

2019-09-09 Thread Wellington Wallace
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=410637

As Pavucontrol also shows in its interface "Virtual Streams" I decided to take
a look at its code
https://github.com/pulseaudio/pavucontrol/blob/aa51a92b109d143d3d26c608f57d40d83a843ef4/src/mainwindow.cc#L785.
There are other entries like that but in short they call virtual streams with
an invalid client. For example this happens with the stream Pulseaudio creates
for loopback devices. But I am not aware of another case where the client is
invalid. As far as I remember any audio player using Pulseaudio has a valid
client index. PulseEffects included. If that is what KDE(or QT) is using to
find virtual streams our stream(created by GStreamer) and almost all of the
ones you will find out there will always be marked as virtual.

Ok, I tried to edit the metadata for the exact same file. The crash happened
exactly at the same point of the original post:

I selected the image. I went to the Captions panel, and wrote the title, author
and description of the picture. Then I clicked on the date (near the bottom) to
change it, and at that moment Digikam crashed. All that before actually saving
any metadata to the file.

I attached a new console output with the backtrace.

  Platform: Appimage

Backtrace of the crash

SUMMARY

I had a couple of crashes today when trying to tag a few pictures, so I thought
of running digikam in debug mode and capture the error and the backtrace.

The first time, digikam just closed by itself during or immediately after
scanning for new pictures. The time I was able to record the log (attached in
this report), digikam crashed when the picture scan alreaady finished and I was
editing the caption and date of a picture in the Captions panel.

I hope this bug report is useful.

PS: Using digikam-6.3.0-git-20190825T034937-x86-64.appimage in Ubuntu 18.04LTS.

   Product: krita
Version: nightly build (please specify the git hash!)
  Platform: Mint (Ubuntu based)
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED

Simple Krita document with filter layer (Levels)

SUMMARY
When editing the properties of an existing filter layer (levels), the histogram
in the filter layer properties dialog does not correctly show the input values
but rather the output values after being processed with the current parameters.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open attached document:"FilterLayerTest.kra"
2. Open the properties dialog for the filter layer "Layer 1 (Levels)" and check
the displayed histogram.
3. In the properties dialog: change the maximum input level from 255 to a lower
level, e.g. 126, close the dialog by clicking "OK", open the dialog again and
check the displayed histogram.

OBSERVED RESULT
The histogram in the properties dialog shows different values at step 3 than at
step 2.

EXPECTED RESULT
The histogram in the properties dialog shall always show the input values (=
the values before the filter has been applied).

[kdiff3] [Bug 410962] kdiff3 vs svn (subversion)

2019-09-09 Thread Turtle
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=410962

I did some poking around and this is defiantly something to do with the newer
QT port.
In main.cpp just after
initialiseCmdLineArgs(cmdLineParser);
// ignorable command options
There are some calls like:
cmdLineParser->addOption(QCommandLineOption(QStringList() <<
QLatin1String("m") << QLatin1String("merge"), i18n("Merge the input.")));

Then some calls to add the files:
cmdLineParser->addPositionalArgument(QLatin1String("[File1]"), i18n("file1
to open (base, if not specified via --base)"));
cmdLineParser->addPositionalArgument(QLatin1String("[File2]"), i18n("file2
to open"));
cmdLineParser->addPositionalArgument(QLatin1String("[File3]"), i18n("file3
to open"));

However the options seem to be clobbering the files, so my guess is another
cmdLineParser needs to loop for every option that == 'L'

[kdenlive] [Bug 411766] New: Audio wave doesn't match actual audio.

2019-09-09 Thread Alex
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411766

Bug ID: 411766
Summary: Audio wave doesn't match actual audio.
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 19.08.1
  Platform: Appimage
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Video Display & Export
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: alexandra.dra...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

When I drag a clip into the timeline, it's split into video and audio. Both are
synced and work well. The audio visualization doesn't match the length of the
audio clip and the spikes don't match the actual audio spikes.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Run Kdenlive from a freshly downloaded appimage
2. Import a clip and drag it into the timeline

OBSERVED RESULT
The audio track preview doesn't match the actual highs and lows of the clip
audio.

EXPECTED RESULT
The visual representation in the audio track should match where the audio rises
and falls.

[cantor] [Bug 411645] Make sagemath backend compatible with sagemath built with python3

Many thanks for checking it. I am not much familiar with phabricator.kde.org
For some reason, while working on parallel with several issues related
to the sagemath rpm package, when submitting the report I though the patch
could be simplified, but it cannot.
The proper line for two arguments would be:

print("%s %s" % ('TMP_DIR', sage.misc.misc.SAGE_TMP))

python2 would generate different output. For example:

$ python2 -c 'print("foo", "bar")'
('foo', 'bar')
$ python3 -c 'print("foo", "bar")'
foo bar
$ python2 -c 'print("%s %s" % ("foo", "bar"))'
foo bar

I was actually testing a patch with the later version, but got confused and
for some reason thought it could be simplified.

[cantor] [Bug 411705] add a Magma backend

I have researched information about Magma, and I think, we won't add magma in
near future, because of:
  1) Magma, as I see, is a proprietary software and isn't too open for
downloading, so even downloading magma executable is a problem.
  2) Working with Magma via Sage, I think, not an option, because working with
Sage is a difficult byself (different reasons) and adding magma to this
situation , I think, will make MagmaSage backend actually the most difficult
backend in Cantor
  3) Cantor have a lot of backends, and have not a lot of developers. We have a
troubles even with supporting of existed backends, and adding another complex
backend not help us...
  4) Magma is not very popular, as I see, and given 3), it is important,
because of this, we targets widely used languages/packages, because of a lack
of developers

Yes, 5+ months and things are unchanged. It was confirmed, but no other
comments if or when this might be worked on. Don't know what changed with 5.15
and going on with 5.16, which might have caused this.

Tested with latest Arch and Neon.

If there is anything else we can provide / help with to get this resolved,
please let us know.

Well, perhaps you can help us with small tasks, as to provide little patches in

With some guidances, it's not really complicated. Also, as i can see your email
