[kwin] [Bug 414555] New: KWin/libQt5Gui.so.5.13.2 crashes when locking screen, listening to music, running virtualbox, etc
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=414555 Bug ID: 414555 Summary: KWin/libQt5Gui.so.5.13.2 crashes when locking screen, listening to music, running virtualbox, etc Product: kwin Version: 5.16.5 Platform: Compiled Sources OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Keywords: drkonqi Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: initial.d...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Application: kwin_x11 (5.16.5) (Compiled from sources) Qt Version: 5.13.2 Frameworks Version: 5.64.0 Operating System: Linux 4.14.138 x86_64 Distribution: "Gentoo Base System release 2.6" -- Information about the crash: - What I was doing when the application crashed: I had a virtualbox virtual machine running, I was listening to music using Strawberry music player off a secondary internal laptop drive and running other applications such as email, terminal, browser, slack and one or two others. This is the second time this has happened. I haven't repeated the exact steps, but I may try that soon in the future. This all started to occur once I upgraded my qt versions and some plasma apps. I use gentoo, qt 5.13.2 packages, kscreen and kscreenlocker 5.16.5. I've locked this machine a couple times previously today without issue, but also without listening to music. Virtualbox was running then. Started machine up from cold boot this morning. - Unusual behavior I noticed: Lock screen appears in the form of the lock screen background, but no password prompt. It holds at the background for a few seconds, then flashes to black, then to background, then to black again. journalctl reports a segfault. I'm concerned that perhaps this bug relates to the media player widget on the lock screen and strawberry, which I compile from git source master branch. I have also updated Strawberry close to when I upgraded qt5 libs. To add, nvidia drivers were also updated recently (390.x series for a 2000M quadro card via emerge). Once lock screen crashes, I lose my background and plasma widgets/panels, black screen background The only way I have been resolving this is to reboot. -- Backtrace: Application: KWin (kwin_x11), signal: Segmentation fault Using host libthread_db library "/lib64/libthread_db.so.1". https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=414554 Bug ID: 414554 Summary: Installed CMake target contains absolute paths and cannot be relocated Product: marble Version: unspecified Platform: Compiled Sources OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: marble-b...@kde.org Reporter: omals...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY There is an absolute path in MarbleTarget.cmake (INCLUDE_INSTALL_DIR). This absolute path means that the installed files cannot be moved and still used by CMake's find_package(). There should be _no_ absolute paths in any outputs of install. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. [digikam] [Bug 414484] Cannot use Rawtherapee or Darktable for raw image import on Windows
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=414484 --- Comment #11 from tlteebken-...@outlook.com --- Hi, your latest change which I tested in today's Win x64 build improved things a bit. When I click a .DNG file in Digikam, it now loads the image in RT, and round-trips it back to the Digikam image editor. Note that this works *only* if I specify the full path to the RT executable (D:\Program Files\Rawtherapee\5.7) in PATH variable. Just adding the parent RT app folder does not work. A couple of additional observations, from some quick testing: 1. Darktable does not work at all. I have latest version installed on my system, and added to PATH, but it will not even open a .DNG image in DT. 2. The round-tripped .DNG file is rendered incorrectly in Digikam's image editor. It looks ok originally in Digikam, and in RT when it opens. But even if I simply close RT without any editing changes, the image is opened in the image editor with changes that are blatant and incorrect. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=414525 Ivan Čukić changed: What|Removed |Added Status|REPORTED|RESOLVED Resolution|--- |INTENTIONAL --- Comment #1 from Ivan Čukić --- This is not planned as it defeats the purpose and aims of Vaults. Vaults have the 'privacy first, usability close second' moto. First, if you want for a vault to automatically open because your KWallet is open all the time (as it is by default), you are better off just encrypting your whole home directory or partition. Second, and more important, KWallet is inherently unsafe (not bashing KWallet authors, the same applies to other similar programs). Even if you configure KWallet to automatically close when no applications are using it, when it gets open, any random application can extract the passwords from it. So, some application could get the Vault password. Things we have to do for privacy and security are sometimes annoying... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[okular] [Bug 414357] table markdown is not pretty
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=414357 Andi Sardina changed: What|Removed |Added CC||andysardin...@gmail.com --- Comment #1 from Andi Sardina --- The problem here is that after the markdown is converted to HTML no CSS is applied to it. [kaffeine] [Bug 414542] New: "--spdif --alsa-audio-device iec958" produces no audio
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=414542 Bug ID: 414542 Summary: "--spdif --alsa-audio-device iec958" produces no audio Product: kaffeine Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: mchehab+sams...@kernel.org Reporter: jamie.march...@sympatico.ca Target Milestone: --- NOTES: Some of the terms I use are explained in "Additional info" Description of problem: Passing "--spdif --alsa-audio-device iec958" to VLClib(remember Kaffeine is just a front-end) causes no audio to be played. The source is Dolby Digital and the command should send the Dolby to my receiver(this is called "passthrough"). Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 2.0.18 How reproducible: If I start playing any audio with VLC while Kaffeine is playing a video(tested by receiving an ATSC broadcast), sound plays from Kaffeine when VLC is closed and seems to keep working until Kaffeine is closed. I used the GUI in VLC to set it up in a way that matches those arguments, I have also tested VLC with those arguments and it does indeed work correctly. Under some rare unreproducible cases, I was able to get a Stereo audio track to play but this was not passthrough(the light was not on). Steps to Reproduce: When testing this I used an ATSC broadcast, I have not fully tested other features. 0. Click the "Settings" menu and click "Configure Kaffeine", in "libVLC" add "--spdif --alsa-audio-device iec958" and then restart Kafffeine 1. Start a stream that can use SPDIF Passthrough(like receiving an ATSC broadcast) 2. You will here silence Actual results: You will hear silence.(in one case this affected other programs too until Kaffine was closed) Expected results: You here the stream. Additional info: In case you don't know some of the terms I used here: SPDIF Passthrough: Passes non-PCM streams(like Dolby Digital) directly to a decoder(amp or A/V receiver) rather than having the PC decode it. No other sounds can play when you do this. ATSC: Digital television broadcast in the USA and Canada(maybe other places too), can be received with the correct hardware and software. (Kaffeine is the software) The odd thing: Kafffeine uses VLC as a backend and as I said it works fine. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=414540 Bug ID: 414540 Summary: Enable tab key to move between arguments and exit brackets Product: kile Version: 2.9.92 Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: editor Assignee: michel.lud...@kdemail.net Reporter: jman012...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When using autocomplete, it would be useful to have the tab key move the cursor to the next argument. Additionally, on the last argument, the tab key should exit the brackets. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open a new document and type "\use" 2. Select the "\usepackage[options]{package}" option 3. Type "abc" and press tab OBSERVED RESULT A tab character is entered within the brackets. [gwenview] [Bug 411196] gwenview very slow to launch
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411196 emg81 changed: What|Removed |Added CC||regbox...@gmail.com --- Comment #4 from emg81 --- I have the same issue (same symptoms, at least), they started to bother me a while ago. Gwenview 19.08.3 Plasma 5.17.3 Frameworks 5.64.0 Qt 5.13.2 OS - Gentoo ~amd64 When I try to open image using terminal, I get no errors of any kind and same delay. Tried to remove .config/gwenviewrc and .config/org.kde.gwenviewrc, hovewer that does not seem to help. There is no process according to htop or system monitor that could have caused such delay. I have OSes installed on SATA SSD and NVMe PCI-e SSD, so slow i/o shouldn't be an issue. So far I couldn't see the pattern for this behavior, all those delays happen occasionally and randomly. Considering what Kai Uwe Broulik said, a possible quick and dirty fix would be setting lower value for "deadlock timeout" (or how they call it). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[krita] [Bug 414539] New: Pen tool assistant snap vs. zoom level
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=414539 Bug ID: 414539 Summary: Pen tool assistant snap vs. zoom level Product: krita Version: 4.2.7.1 Platform: Windows CE OS: MS Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Brush engines Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: soldiu...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. I am using two vanishing points and one parallel ruler, to setup 2pt. perspective 2. I do a sketch 3. Then i zoom in and with snapping in pen tool enabled, using pen pressure enabled brush, i draw something with ~150% zoom, the brush works fine. 4. After zooming further to draw details, whenever beyond ~200-250% of zoom, the brush pressure starts to not register properly. 5. Zooming to close decreases pressure registration to the point, where 10px sized brush has problems with leaving any marks on canvas. OBSERVED RESULT Little to no pen pressure detected, ergo no marks on canvas EXPECTED RESULT Normal pressure curve, drawing properly using pen tool and assistants while zoomed in. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Windows 10 pro Krita versions tested: from 4.1 to 4.2.7 High DPI support is enabled Touch canvas rotation is disabled Touch canvas panning is enabled ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Thinkpad X1 tablet gen 3. [kdeconnect] [Bug 414538] New: Memory leak when sending files with KDE Connect
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=414538 Bug ID: 414538 Summary: Memory leak when sending files with KDE Connect Product: kdeconnect Version: 1.3.5 Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: common Assignee: albertv...@gmail.com Reporter: jman012...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Originally reported in the Fedora bugzilla (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1774339) it was recommended that I report this upstream. When sending large files with KDE Connect, system memory usage increases without a similar decrease once the transfer is complete. After transferring ~80 GiB of files from my laptop to my desktop, my laptop's memory usage was at 14.1 GiB of 15.5 GiB available, with about 13.5 GiB of that being kdeconnectd. Performance slowed to a crawl until I killed the kdeconnectd process. There was no such effect on the receiving desktop. I tried sending a single 40 GiB file from my desktop to my laptop and it took up 29 GiB of memory during the transfer, then dropped to 13 GiB afterward. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Pair two computers via KDE Connect 2. Open Dolphin, right click on a large file, and select "Send to '$foo' via KDE Connect" 3. Open ksysguard and watch the memory usage climb OBSERVED RESULT Memory usage increases dramatically and doesn't decrease once the transfer is complete. EXPECTED RESULT Memory should be freed once the transfer is complete. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Linux 5.3.11 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.16.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.61.0 Qt Version: 5.12.5 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Watching this happen in ksysguard, it looks like there are periodic breaks in the file upload. During those breaks, memory usage climbs, at least during the first half of the transfer. It looks like the file is being put into an upload buffer, but the buffer isn't completely cleared once the transfer is complete. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
