[krita] [Bug 416894] New: krita full screen in wrong monitor

2020-01-28 Thread Mobin
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=416894

Bug ID: 416894
Summary: krita full screen in wrong monitor
   Product: krita
   Version: git master
  Platform: Windows CE
OS: MS Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Usability
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: pipboymodel3...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I have a setup of 2 monitors (windows extended monitor view)
krita is moved to 2nd monitor
whenever krita runs on full screen (tab on keyboard) it goes to the first
monitor.
right now a workaround is to make krita NOT go fullscreen (by enabling title
bar at least)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. have 2 monitors on windows 10 with it set up as extended
2. run krita on main monitor
3. move it to 2nd monitor
4. tab for full screen (if you have it hid everything so it goes full screen)
5. krita goes full screen on 1st monitor

OBSERVED RESULT
krita goes full screen on 1st monitor (as it is the main windows one)

EXPECTED RESULT
krita goes full screen on the monitor it is placed on (2nd monitor)

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: win 10 x64 latest 1/29/2020 build

[krita] [Bug 416892] Contiguous Selection Tool behavior

2020-01-28 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=416892

--- Comment #1 from acc4commissi...@gmail.com ---
The most pesky problem is that I can't ignore very light and pale pixels by
changing the fuzziness. When I click the transparent area of the layer, the
detection seems to become binary, and it only select pixels that is
'completely' transparent.

[krita] [Bug 416892] New: Contiguous Selection Tool behavior

2020-01-28 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=416892

Bug ID: 416892
   Summary: Contiguous Selection Tool behavior
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.2.8
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Tools/Selection
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org

  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 125509
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=125509&action=edit
describing the problem

SUMMARY
In short : Contiguous Selection Tool doesn't work as expected when I try to
select transparent pixels. Changing settings(fuziness, etc) makes 0 differences
in the output.

The best way the test this is :

1. Create 2 layers with color gradients, and merge one of them with a white
100% layer.
2. Select Contiguous Selection Tool, and check 'Limit to Current Layer' in Tool
Settings.
3. Try to select any area in the gradient on both layers.

It would select different areas,
and changing settings on the layer that has transparent background, won't make
any difference on the area that it selects.

[kstars] [Bug 416650] Crashes when imaging a sequence.

2020-01-28 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=416650

--- Comment #7 from mountainai...@outlook.com ---
INTERESTING OBSERVATIONS:

#1: While working on some configuration issues with the scope set up in my
house, I took 1000 1-second photos without a crash. I was not guiding since I
was in the house, but when I attempted the same scenario outside later that
night WITH guiding, it crashed repeatedly. In some workflows I couldn't get
more than 1 or 2 shots.

#2: This led me to some experimentation. Working on the assumption that
guiding seems to cause this, I discovered that duration of the main cam
dramatically affects the observed instability. With the guide cam taking
sub-framed/ROI'd guiding images every second (ASI174MM), and the main cam
taking full 1-seocnd photos, Ekos seems to crash within a handful of main cam
photos. But if I increase that duration, crashes dramatically reduce. I've
been taking 300-second photos for over an hour now with no crashes.

So... very short camera exposures and/or collisions between processing imagery
from two higher-frequency cameras seems to be the cause.

I did try running everything on the PI4 once (I was VNCing into it), and it did
crash during the same workflow -- but I had only tried it once.

I will try the latest build and will report back with a proper crash log.

2020-01-28 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=416891

Bug ID: 416891
Summary: Desktop folders open in wrong activity
   Product: frameworks-kactivities
   Version: 5.66.0
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: ivan.cu...@kde.org
  Reporter: kde...@t-online.de
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I do not know if this is a bug, but other KDE users on forum.kde.org have
expressed that this is not normal, but could not provide a solution.
Can you help me fix this, please?

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
I have 4 activities with a dolphin instance open in some of them.
There is a folder or link to a folder on my desktop. Click it to open the
folder

OBSERVED RESULT
The folder opens as a new tab in the first of the next activities that has a
dolphin instance, but never in the activity where I clicked even if there is an
open dolphin.

EXPECTED RESULT
Tab should open in dolphin of the same activity where I clicked on the folder.
If there is no open dolphin, it should start a dolphin instance within the
activity where I clicked on the folder.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Manjaro stable (I installed Manjaro KDE last year and this never worked)
Dolphin 19.12.0, 19.12.1
KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.4, 5.17.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.65.0, 5.66.0
Qt Version: 5.14.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Starting with an empty desktop session did not help. I also tried switching
back to "use common properties for all folders" in dolphin settings, but it did
not help either. I am not using virtual desktops (there is only 1).

Interesting. I'm wondering if that's something we can actually do on our side,
or if the existing tools are already sufficient via xorg.conf snippets, or if
libinput has another method of doing this. You might want to start a
conversation with the Libinput maintainer Peter Hutterer at

Same issue here - wondering if right clicking the root item in the folder list
and doing Folder Properties, then renaming it there, would do it but hesitant
only because finally got EWS working with my work email (large inbox would
never sync) haha - did you ever try anything else or just stuck with it as-is
for time being as well?

[okular] [Bug 403643] Okular stops rendering PDF and uses up 100% cpu (possible regression)

2020-01-28 Thread Tobias Deiminger
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403643

I can now reproduce the issue (CPU 30%, pages no more rendered, but okular
symbol shown) in Ubuntu 19.10. But: For me it happens only if strace is
attached to okular while scrolling through a PDF (the one from bug 39613). The
issue then remains after detaching strace, it will never recover, and can be
observed by attaching gdb.

I see that QEventLoop is no more going to sleep, because the underlying poll()
system call is always called with a timeout of 0, and that generatePixmap is
called at high frequency while TextPageGenerationThread::isFinished == 1. Can't
go on for today, but seems like a good position to continue debugging upcoming
days.

Albert, could you try if the "strace trick" helps to reproduce the issue at
your side?

[lattedock] [Bug 416889] New: Latte Dock jumps up-down when attached at left or right edge of screen

2020-01-28 Thread Petros
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=416889

Bug ID: 416889
Summary: Latte Dock jumps up-down when attached at left or
right edge of screen
   Product: lattedock
   Version: 0.9.8
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: application
  Assignee: mvourla...@gmail.com
  Reporter: psamar...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Using Unity layout on single monitor (laptop), the left side latte dock is
jumping up and down continuously.
When set to bottom screen edge, there is no issue.
I cleaned latte cache (--cc) without improvement.
As it happened right after it was updated, I downgraded to 0.9.7-1 which
behaves properly (no issue).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start latte-dock
2. Set Unity layout, or place any panel or dock at the left or right side of
screen
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
The panel/dock is jumping up and down continuously.

EXPECTED RESULT
The panel/dock is stable (not jumping up and down)

I'm asking for some kind of possibility to set a default command, so any
touch-pad device will use it, as an example

The default value I package for Solus Plasma right now

touchpadxlibinputrc file:
[SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad]
tapToClick=true

This will work on one of my notebooks but not for the other, this one needs

[Elan Touchpad]
tapToClick=true

another user has to set it to get it working to

[ELAN1200:00 04F3:303E Touchpad]
tapToClick=true

if I can package a xdg default value and all touch-pad devices would follow it
would be really user friendly, something like

[Touchpad properties]
tabToClick=true

[kstars] [Bug 416888] New: Cities of North and South Korea needs to be separated

2020-01-28 Thread Shinjo Park
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=416888

Bug ID: 416888
Summary: Cities of North and South Korea needs to be separated
   Product: kstars
   Version: git
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: mutla...@ikarustech.com
  Reporter: k...@peremen.name
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
The citydb.sqlite from current git lists both North and South Korean cities
under the same country "Korea". This is practically incorrect, so we need to
separate both Koreas for this moment.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. git checkout https://cgit.kde.org/kstars.git/
2. Open kstars/data/citydb.sqlite
3. Check where country == 'Korea'

OBSERVED RESULT
Both North and South Korean cities are mixed.

EXPECTED RESULT
These cities should go to North Korea:
id=540, 'Ch''ongjin'
id=1334, 'Hungnam'
id=1507, 'Kimch''aek'
id=1428, 'Kaesong'
id=1766, 'Maando'
id=2305, 'P''yongyang'
id=2804, 'Sinuiju'
id=3336, 'Wonsan'
id=3383, 'Yupojin'

All the rest should go to South Korea.

Also there are some errors in South Korean cities too:
id=719, 'Daegwallyeong' -> 'Province' should be 'Gangwon'
id=797, 'Dokdo' -> 'Province' should be 'Gyeongbuk'
id=1089, 'Name' should be 'Geumsan'

I am using unstable gentoo 5.17.5 right now, though this issue has been
occuring for a while, around 5.15 at least.
It could be related to my screen setup; I have two 1920x1200 screens oriented
at 270 degrees (both vertically aligned), my laptop monitor is disabled while I
use external monitors. My laptop is on a dock. I use a 2000M Quadro. The laptop

the video card, but this happens pretty much on a daily basis.

would expect something like View/Encoding) is set to "Baltisch" ("Baltic"). i
always have to set it to "Automatisch" ("Automatic") manually.
At the next restart (after rebooting) the setting is lost again.

I could not find another setting to det the enclding besides the mentioned menu
entry.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

Forgive the basic question, but did you upgrade any of the KDE/Qt components at

[plasmashell] [Bug 416852] Include All Panels on All Monitors By Default

2020-01-28 Thread David Edmundson
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=416852

Just to clarify, I meant you move the mouse to the other monitor and click on
the panel. Not some gesture.

The rest of your argument about reducing the number of steps is all based
around the notion that people want two panels with two monitors. Otherwise this
whole burden of steps works the other way round.

Given I see screenshots on bug reports on a daily basis, I do have an idea of
what is popular. For more empirical evidence panel count and screen count are
something we are collecting in the new user feedback module.

[plasmashell] [Bug 416852] Include All Panels on All Monitors By Default

2020-01-28 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=416852

"all that is required is moving the mouse further" - David Edmundson

Respectfully, here me out.

As a new user of KDE, I have no clue what that means (above). Is there some
implicitly hidden gesture that produces the Application Menu on Additional
Monitors? If so, why is this gesture not required on the default monitor?
That's an inconsistency guaranteed to confuse a new users of KDE (like myself).

Closing this ticket on the grounds that "defaults are subjective" ignores the
fact that "sensible default increase new user adoption".

I'm making the effort to push this point because I've just started using KDE
and I want it to become the goto desktop for all types of users. Obviously, I
can see that it is the goto desktop for power users, but if you'd give my
suggestions deeper consideration KDE will evolve into the desktop that's
preferred by power users AND new users. This can be accomplished by making
defaults explicit instead of hidden: "Show it until they know it".

I donated $20.00 to KDE.org the other day because of the potential I see in
KDE. That doesn't make what I'm saying unquestionable, but I want you to know
my sincerity.

Here's my primary desktop history:
Windows 3.1
Windows 98
Window XP
GNOME 2 (April 2007 is when I started using Linux exclusively)
Unity 7
GNOME 3
KDE

Out of all of these GNOME 2 was the easiest to use as a new user, but Unity 7
had the most sensible defaults when it comes to panels in a Multiple Monitors
environment:

In Unity 7, if you installed that desktop onto a computer having multiple
monitors, each additional monitor had all the same panels as the default
monitor. In its day, Unity 7 had more users than GNOME and KDE combined. When
it came to new user adoption, they were doing something right.

Here's why KDE should do this too by default:

1) Concept of "Burden of Configuration". The burden of configuration is best
placed on users that already have the knowledge of how to configure KDE. New
users benefit from explicit interfaces that show things (on screen) by default.
Auto-hide and gesture-driven access to menus are NOT sensible defaults for new
users. This is NOT subjective. It is a fact. Once new users know where things
are, at that point they can give more priority to saving screen real-estate
with auto-hide and learning shortcuts such as mouse gestures and hot-keys.
Those things are not intuitive to new users. Until they know it, show it!

2) Concept of "Lowest Number of Steps Required". It requires less steps to
remove a panel than it does to 1) Learn what a panel is 2) Learn the KDE names
of each type of panel 3) Learn the KDE idiosyncrasies of new panel creation in
a multiple monitor setup (see #4 in my original post; its a bug in and of
itself).

3) Concept of "Less Steps Drive New User Adoption". In Web Marketing, it is a
known fact that you lose sales for each additional step that's required to
purchase your product online. Example, if it requires one step maybe 20% of the
people that see it will buy it. If it requires 2 steps: only 15% will buy it. 3
steps 7% will buy it. Amazon.com knows this, and that's why they created the
feature (one click purchasing). The point is, with each additional set
required, you lose people.

The same is probably true for New User adoption of a desktop environments. How
many people have run into the problem I'm reporting here, and decided to put no
effort into trying to change it? How many people evaluate KDE and after not
seeing an application menu on an additional monitor, just assume wrongly that
KDE is inadequate and quit evaluating it?. How many people get to step 1 (of
learning about panels) and then give up. How many people add a panel, and give
up because they don't want to take the next step to configure it to their
liking. Each additional step a new user has to endure could be the step they
give up on.

Give the new user everything on all monitors by default and I promise you it
will benefit new user adoption. I can't prove it, but I intelligible know it
(based on the concepts above).

Bug ID: 416883
Summary: Changing the speed of a clip distorts all effects with
keyframes
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 19.12.1
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Effects & Transitions
  Assignee: vpi...@kde.org
  Reporter: ph.hu...@gmx.net
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

When changing the speed of a clip which has effects with keyframes, the
keyframe times are not transformed at all. This lead in wrong keyframe timings
and de facto distroy the effects. The keyframes should be scaled according to
the clips speed change.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a video project with a brightness effect.
2. Add brightness keyframes with different brightness.
3. Change clip speed.

OBSERVED RESULT

Keyframes are not scaled according to new clip length (clip time)

EXPECTED RESULT

Keyframes should scale according to new clip length so that the effect fits
with the video pictures as designed in the original speed.

SUMMARY

Choosing an Output file with the browse icon in the Rendering Dialog is

The resulting file name in the Output file edit results always in the projects

3. Click the folder icon to browse for an existing output file to override
4. Confirm that you want to override it
5. BUG: the selected file path is NOT in the output file edit. Instead it is

OBSERVED RESULT

I think you forgot to fill out the template. See
https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Issue_Reporting for more information
about how to write a bug report. We need to know what exactly you were doing to
trigger this condition, in as much detail as possible. Thanks!

I can reproduce. Is the code here using a FormLayout? If so, it's probably a
