I do think tho that it should not jump to that location on release either. I think it is more logical that if the handle is pressed it means that you "grab" it for moving and if you then change your mind and release it, it should not jump. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417856 --- Comment #2 from Michail Vourlakos --- I don't think this is Latte solvable for the simple reason that new CSD windows in Plasma 5.18 provide a larger geometry for their shadows, so Latte is considering them as touching. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kmail2] [Bug 417862] New: Kmail doesn't allow to sign messages
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417862 Bug ID: 417862 Summary: Kmail doesn't allow to sign messages Product: kmail2 Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: crypto Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org Reporter: m...@iyanmv.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Today I needed to send a signed message and Kmail doesn't allow me. It is something I have done in the past without any issues, so I don't know at which point this feature broke for me (but for sure after 22 January when I sent last signed email with the same certificate using Kmail). STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Add an S/MIME certificate to an identity 2. Create new email and send it using that identity OBSERVED RESULT When trying to send I get the following error. Sending message failed. Could not compose message: Address family not supported by protocol. EXPECTED RESULT No error when trying to use that certificate as in the past. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux with linux kernel 5.5.4 KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.67.0 Qt Version: 5.14.1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION It does work when using a OpenPGP signing key. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417861 Jan Grulich changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |NOT A BUG CC||jgrul...@redhat.com Status|REPORTED|RESOLVED --- Comment #1 from Jan Grulich --- This is because the file is most likely opened through the OpenURI portal, which remembers the choice for given mimetype if it's used three times. This is what xdg-desktop-portal does, it's not us (our backend) who does that so simply there is nothing we can do about it. You can stop using GTK_USE_PORTAL=1 and Firefox will behave as it should. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[xdg-desktop-portal-kde] [Bug 417861] New: Firefox and Thunderbird no longer adhere to MIMETYPE associatons
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417861 Bug ID: 417861 Summary: Firefox and Thunderbird no longer adhere to MIMETYPE associatons Product: xdg-desktop-portal-kde Version: unspecified Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: jgrul...@redhat.com Reporter: sander.s...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Recently both Firefox and Thunderbird stopped following MIMETYPE associations on Arch. This means that opening an attachment in Thunderbird or opening a downloaded file directly through the Firefox download interface a different application would be used to open the file compared to xdg-open or dolphin. I've tried to remove STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install Firefox (not the firefox-kde-opensuse-bin as that seems to be not affected) 2. Download a random file (e.g. PDF) OBSERVED RESULT Notice that it opens in a different application compared to opening the same file through dolphin or xdg-open. EXPECTED RESULT The file being opened as if it was done through dolphin or xdg-open. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.67.0 Qt Version: 5.14.1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION More people are expriencing the issue and for different users different applications seem to open. A relevant thread on reddit highlights this: https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/f2otsn/firefox_kde_integration_issue_librarydownloads/ I've tried to find the associations myself and only learned about the handlers.json file in the firefox profile. Removing that one didn't change anything. I've reached out to Nate Graham and he recommended making this bug ticket for the XDG Desktop Portal component. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I suspected a possible hardware problem BUT freezes do NOT happen if I have desktop effect mouse tracking turned on! STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Boot up Kubuntu 2. No particular activity 3. Freeze will occur during the day. Sometimes longer periods between freezes. OBSERVED RESULT System freezes solidly. Keyboard unresponsive regardless of how long I wait. EXPECTED RESULT A working system SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Kubuntu 19.10 KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.67.0 Qt Version: 5.12.4 Kernel Version: 5.3.0-40-generic OS Type: 64-bit ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Current hardware: Dell inspiron-5674 desktop Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 1700X Eight-Core Processor Memory: 7.7 GiB of RAM Graphics card: AMD Radeon RX 480 After installing Ubuntu 17.04 on my old ACER i7 laptop in 2017 it started to freeze. I had been running various Linux distros without any problems since 2012! In early 2018 I decided to buy a tower PC, an AMD, details below. To my disgust it too started to freeze intermittently. By freeze I mean the screen was frozen and the keyboard dead. The sort of behaviour you would expect from a hardware problem. No system errors logged! I am now on Ubuntu and Kubuntu 19.10 and if anything the freezes are worse. BUT, I have discovered a way to prevent the freezes on Kubuntu, a very strange workaround. I found that if I turn mouse tracking on in Kubuntu immediately after logging in I experience NO FREEZES!!! If I forget to do this I am almost certain to experience a freeze during the day. This confirms to me that I have no hardware problem but that some change in Linux between Ubuntu 16.04 and 17.04 created an ongoing problem. My workaround should give the boffins a clue as to how to fix the problem. There appear to be no relevant logs as system in effect seems to go into a self induced coma. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417856 Bug ID: 417856 Summary: Panel background unhidden before Firefox CSD window visually touches Product: lattedock Version: 0.9.8.1 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: application Assignee: mvourla...@gmail.com Reporter: prettyvani...@posteo.at Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 126152 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=126152&action=edit Firefox with CSDs close to the panel SUMMARY With "Hide background when not needed" enabled on my latte panels the backgrounds stay hidden as expected when I have a Firefox window with normal KWin decorations until it actually touches or Firefox is maximized. When using Firefox with CSDs Latte behaves as if there was an invisible larger border around Firefox' window and becomes opaque quite a bit before it visibly touches. Maybe this has to do with the changes in Plasma 5.18 re better support for GTK client-side decorations with shadows and resize areas? STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set a panel to "Hide background when not needed" that is otherwise opaque. 2. Configure Firefox to not use a "Title Bar" in its "Customize" view, thereby making it a client-side decorated window. 3. Observe the latte panel becoming opaque before Firefox visibly touches or is maximized. [plasmashell] [Bug 417603] Plasma crashes in AppletsLayout::editModeCondition()
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417603 --- Comment #3 from wilson_tyle...@yahoo.com --- I have only experienced the crash on initial login, multiple times over the last week or so. My desktop is blank and the only thing sitting there is the desktop toolbox and any icons I have on the desktop. The crash initially happened when i started adding widgets back to have some GUI functionality but experienced the crash, i now notice that if i just let it sit long enough, it crashes anyway without any input nor widgets. This is reproducible and happens about ~80% of the time from an initial login after a shutdown (on a laptop). I am currently running Fedora 31, upgraded from 30. plasmashell 5.18.0 is currently unavailable in the fedora 31 update repos so I have not had time to manually update to this version. On my Manjaro installation, I compiled it for myself and was STILL able to produce the bug. I did not perform any updates, what so ever. Also, I tested what Oliver said to try a while back. [plasmashell] [Bug 417848] Night color system tray icon behaves oddly / is buggy
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417848 --- Comment #1 from Mark Smith --- Actually I think I figured it out. The tray icon (and also the shortcut if you set a global shortcut) is no longer synced with whatever you set in the system settings. In 5.17 the keyboard shortcut (because there was no tray icon) would enable or disable night color from the settings. Now, if night color is disabled in system settings, the tray icon and shortcut will no longer work. I wanted manual control of night color, so in 5.17 IIRC I set it to always enabled and then controlled it with the keyboard shortcut. This is annoying in 5.18 because if I set it to always on, when I turn on my computer night color will be on no matter if it was set off with the keyboard shortcut or tray icon before. So, assuming this behavior is intended, an option called "manual control" or something should be added, and the last manually set status should be remembered after a reboot. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[gwenview] [Bug 411196] Gwenview very slow to launch while the top item in the system clipboard was sent by KDE Connect using the shared clipboard feature
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411196 --- Comment #18 from tagwer...@innerjoin.org --- Some anecdotal evidence here, in a configuration with a KVM host running two guest systems (host system Fedora 30, KDE spin; guests Neon 5.18 and Neon Testing). Guest systems don't have KDE connect installed but show the same behaviour as seen with KDE Connect. Launching Gwenview on the guest systems, it seems that they are sensitive to items being added to the clipboard 'copied' on the host. Items 'copied' on the host (being visible in Klipper) are copied across to the guest systems clipboard(s). On the guests, you get that occasional 60 second delay opening Gwenview, with multiple ETIMEDOUT's in the strace. Closing gwenview can also hang. Seen this with a 'copy' to the clipboard on the host affecting the behaviour of _both_ guest systems (!) Quite often Klipper is frozen at the same time as Gwenview. However, in cases where it's possible to clear the clipboard, the delay stops (with no more ETIMEDOUT's logged) and Gwenview starts up again. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

When I launch it, it seems as the screen freezes but it's actually the gwenview window that appears as if it's a screenshot of what was displayed on the screen at the moment it was opened for a while. It's as if it struggles to compose the main window. Opening gwenview either by doubleclicking or from the terminal doesn't make any difference.
