2020-04-09 Thread Jester Flint
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419900

Bug ID: 419900
Summary: settinsgs for the number of lines scrolled
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kcm_mouse

SUMMARY
I don't know if this is the place to make this suggestion, but the scroll speed
of my mouse is too slow in chrome and many other apps and there is no option to
increase the scroll speed of the mouse, it would be great if there is one
settting to conrol the number of lines scrolled

[Skanlite] [Bug 375938] There is no shortcut to Scan

2020-04-09 Thread Frederick Yin
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375938

Frederick Yin changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||fakef...@protonmail.ch

Made some study on this:

`Scan` has no shortcut, because S is mapped to Settings, C is Close, A is
About, and N is Contrast when a contrast option is present. This explains why
when you pass `-d test` to it, N is mapped to Scan: there is no such option.

My proposal is to manually assign T to Settings. Am preparing a patch.

Application: dolphin (19.12.3)

Qt Version: 5.14.2
Frameworks Version: 5.68.0
Operating System: Linux 5.6.3-arch1-1 x86_64
Windowing system: X11
Distribution: "Arch Linux"

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
Recently I have noticed that Dolphin would crash almost immediately when I
opened it. Today I noticed that Dolphin would sometimes hang for a few seconds
while showing a blank terminal panel. I then disabled neofetch thinking that
the terminal was having trouble loading neofetch, but the crashes continued. I
also disabled powerline shell in my .bashrc, but that did not help either.

- Unusual behavior I noticed:
Dolphin would crash almost immediately after launching. Dolphin would launch
normally on the second or third attempt to relaunch it. After disabling
neofetch and powerline shell in my .bashrc I noticed that Dolphin would work
normally every time after turning off the terminal panel

- Custom settings of the application:
Terminal panel enabled, Powerline shell and Neofetch enabled in .bashrc

The crash can be reproduced every time.

I'm also seeing this under 5.17.5.

I tried to work around it by having a service which would randomly copy an
image from my actual image directory into the directory I configured the
slideshow wallpaper to source from, but ran into multiple other bugs.

1. If I purge the existing files from the directory, the slideshow plugin will
go to a black screen with the error
"file:///usr/share/plasma/shells/org.kde.plasma.desktop/contents/configuration/ConfigurationContainmentAppearance.qml:85:9:
Unable to assign [undefined] to QQmlListProperty"

2. If I configure slideshow's order to "Date modified, newest first" I get
strange behaviour, When I click "Apply", it correctly shows the newest image,
but as soon as I close the config window, it reverts to the previous image,
with no output in the journal

I cannot read the screenshots, but do they show actual text, or just a list of
glyphs as in the Latin section above? As far as I know, the shaping depends on
context, and ideally the font display should show all possible shapes, not just
a sample text. Does selecting a different Unicode block help, e.g. Arabic

Text file with script code

I'm a Mac user making the switch to Linux (although longtime Kid3 user) and I
used an iTunes script to give song titles proper english capitalization. It
would auto capitalize the correct words and not every word or first of a
sentence. Not sure it this could be implemented into Kid3 along with the other
case conversion options.

EXAMPLES:
Original ID3 tag title = "Rock And Roll"
Would change to = "Rock and Roll"

Or "The Song Remains The Same"
to "The Song Remains the Same"

Currently that can't happen with the options right now.

I've attached the older script that I used (in txt format).

[kwin] [Bug 418938] Gain focus when clicking the maximization button

2020-04-09 Thread avlas
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=418938

(In reply to Christoph Feck from comment #1)
> Since you can click into the window to gain focus, this shouldn't be changed
> unless it is made configurable. Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to keep the
> existing behaviour.

This requires the counterintuitive process of clicking elsewhere in the window
before maximizing.

Most of the times the user may not even realize that the window is not on focus
in the first place, so the user cannot do that until it's too late (perhaps
this is not usually the case for the default breeze decoration, but for most
other themes, the difference between active and inactive windows is much more
subtle).

Furthermore, your response seems to recognize that current behavior may be a
feature worth keeping, but I fail to see a use case for maximazing a window
that appears below others. If you have some, I'd like to know.

The XPM image loader is part of the Qt libraries, it only supports the version
XPM3 that is the default version since 1991.

https://code.qt.io/cgit/qt/qtbase.git/tree/src/gui/image/qxpmhandler.cpp
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X_PixMap#XPM3

If you really need to support older versions, I suggest to report this issue
directly to Qt developers via https://bugreports.qt.io/ with a test case.
