[systemsettings] [Bug 420232] New: Unexpected confirmation window after switch from "Fonts" section

2020-04-17 Thread pveax

Bug ID: 420232
Summary: Unexpected confirmation window after switch from
"Fonts" section
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 5.18.4
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Keywords: regression
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kcm_fonts

TUI log

SUMMARY
Unexpected confirmation window after switch from "Fonts" section if to change
nothing.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open system settings window (TUI: systemsettings5).
2. Go to "Fonts" section. Change nothing at all.
3. Go to any other section. As example in attached file log I switched to
"Colours" section.

OBSERVED RESULT
Confirmation window appears:

Title:
"Apply settings - System settings"

Text:
"The settings of the current module have changed.
Do you want to apply the changes or discard them?"

Options:
Apply / Discard / Cancel

EXPECTED RESULT
No any confirmation window cause I dis not introduce any change, only current
section switching.

ADDITIONALLY
If to apply that unknown changes, then after entering "Fonts" section again and
to try to leave that section w/ no change the confirmation windows appears
again. I saw it in 5.18.3 version, now see in 5.18.4. I see that lack
constantly for several weeks. Reproduction rate for me is 100%.

the glitch

SUMMARY
Holding Cmd seems to allow Outline Selection Tool to draw straight lines,
similar to Polygon Selection Tool. But instead it causes UI glitches.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Switch to Outline Selection Tool.
2. Draw a curve, but don't close the outline
3. Holding Cmd.
4. Click on canvas.

OBSERVED RESULT
It does nothing but glitches the UI. See attachment.

EXPECTED RESULT
A straight segment should be added to the current unfinished selection outline.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
macOS: 10.14.6
Krita: Nightly build (44e3f62)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Same with 4.2.9.

[kwin] [Bug 395725] Blur effect applied for aurorae decoration shadows

2020-04-17 Thread Ossama Nasser

Ossama Nasser changed:

 I have Manjaro KDE :
Operating System: Manjaro Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0
Qt Version: 5.14.2
Kernel Version: 5.6.3-2-MANJARO
OS Type: 64-bit
Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i7-4500U CPU @ 1.80GHz
Memory: 7.7 GiB of RAM

I can confirm this problem is present and it happens because of the "Blur
Strength" component of the blur effect:

Many new themes have a blur in the panel which I really hate, therefor I try to
reduce it as much as possible, the best way I found is to increase the value of
the "Blur Strength" component of the blur effect, however this causes the
rounded corners of a theme to have a pointy non-transparent effect it the
corners of the aurorae theme is rounded.

By reducing the value of "blur strength" the effect is reduced but also the the
blured components becomes more transparent

[krita] [Bug 420230] New: The background color "square" doesn't update correctly in Artistic Color Selector

2020-04-17 Thread Yu-Hsuan Lai

observed result

SUMMARY
By "background color square" I mean the little square in Artistic Color
Selector on the background color selected. Not the "background color indicator"
in the lower right corner.

Similar to Bug 324121, but only the background color square is wrong.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Select a background color, say blue, by right-clicking blue on Artistic
Color Selector.
2. Select a different foreground color, say red, by left-clicking red on
Artistic Color Selector.

OBSERVED RESULT
Both the "circle" and "square" are on red. See observed.png

EXPECTED RESULT
"Circle" is on red and "square" is on blue. See expected.png

SUMMARY
It seems impossible to make changes to an existing workspace.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Save the workspace with a unique name, e.g. "Painting"

Git commit 52c0a136f9fff59db30210a788e9f904ea594fa4 by Nate Graham.
Committed on 18/04/2020 at 05:45.
Pushed by ngraham into branch 'master'.

[ExpandableListItem] make it touch-friendly

Summary:
Right now ExpandableListItem is not very touch-friendly due to use of a
mousearea
hover effect for choosing the selected item. This patch fixes that by using a
`TapHandler`
to handle left-clicks and touch input. We still need a MouseArea inside it to
handle
non-touch hover and right-click behaviors.
FIXED-IN: 5.70

Test Plan: Click behavior is identical to how it was before, but now touch
works too: {F8234452}

restarting kdeconnect on the phone nor the desktop helped. Restarting the phone
didn't help either.

Or maybe the openSUSE Leap 15.1 RPMs are out of date?

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Upgrade Moto G6 to latest Android release
2. Try to cut and paste between desktop and phone
3. Fail

[krita] [Bug 420226] New: Random crashes on Mac while deselecting a selection

2020-04-17 Thread Yu-Hsuan Lai
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420226

Bug ID: 420226
Summary: Random crashes on Mac while deselecting a selection
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.2.9
  Platform: macOS Disk Images
OS: macOS
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Tools/Selection
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: rainco...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 127625
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=127625&action=edit
system.log is the crash log shown by the OS.

SUMMARY
This crash looks very different from
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420032 so I'm filing a separate report. It
happened when I have a selection on the canvas and pressed Cmd+D to deselect
it. Krita semi-froze for several seconds. During the period I can select a
different layer or switch tools, but the canvas was completely frozen. Then
Krita crashed.

The stack trace looks different from Bug 420032 too.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Unable to consistently reproduce.

OBSERVED RESULT
Crash

EXPECTED RESULT
Not crash, and selection should be deselected.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
macOS: 10.14.6
Krita: 4.9.2

But these crashes happened with official stable 4.2.9, not my home-built Krita.
At the bottom of the system log, it dumps the libraries used, and it seems to
link to its own Qt:

2020-04-17 Thread BK
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419645

I am sorry to resurrect this after so long but I have been trying all
instructions I can find to update from KMYMONEY 5.0.0 to KMYMONEY 5.0.8.
Everything I try fails for various reasons. I don't understand the appimage
option but I don't think that is what I want. I would like to install the
5.0.8 version (I believe this is the most recent stable version). I am on
Ubuntu 18.04.

I have downloaded a file kmymoney-5.0.8.tar.xz.

I have Synaptic Package Manager but it won't recognize this new version.

I am at a total loss of what to do and how to do it.

Please any help including perhaps step by step instruction for a novice would
be appreciated.

nothing happens that is wrong, if however, over the course of a session I

[kio-extras] [Bug 420224] New: kdeinit5 crashes when thumbnailing docx files

2020-04-17 Thread Cezar Tigaret
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420224

Bug ID: 420224
Summary: kdeinit5 crashes when thumbnailing docx files
   Product: kio-extras
   Version: 19.12
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Thumbnails and previews
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: cezar.tiga...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 127624
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=127624&action=edit
The crash report

SUMMARY
kdeinit5 crashes when _some_ Office docx document file is either hovered, or
selected in Dolphin, with Dolphin configured to show previews (thumbnails)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. open a Dolphin window containing MSWord documents
2. Dolphin generates previews of other files inside e.g LibreOffice, MSoffice
powerpoint & word
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
The KDE Crash handler pops with the general information:
"We are sorry, kdeinit5 closed unexpectedly.
You cannot report tis error, because kdeinit5 does not provide a bug reporting
address"

Plase note that some (usually, small) docx and pptx files do not trigger this
behaviour, but other files trigger this crash every time. Neither of these
files are encrypted, nor password protected.

The generate crash information is:
Application: kdeinit5 (kdeinit5), signal: Segmentation fault
Using host libthread_db library "/lib64/libthread_db.so.1".

2020-04-17 Thread Cruz Enrique
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=359046

Now that I think about it, I think I can nail a bit more when it happens.

It only happens when the attached screen is configured to NOT be the primary
screen and IS bigger that the primary one. In my case, when you plug the FullHD
TV to my laptop. Nevertheless, the bug does not shows when I plug my work
screen (that is configures as a primary) or when I plug a beamer (that are
typlically smaller in resolution than the laptop screen).

If you're an ubuntu user, you need to complain to the Ubuntu developers about
how old and crashy the things they ship are.

Meanwhile you can always try Okular from flathub, it has it's own different set

OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal

[ark] [Bug 420220] New: bigger zip archives (>~3.2 GB) can't be opened

2020-04-17 Thread Martin Senftleben
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420220

Bug ID: 420220
Summary: bigger zip archives (>~3.2 GB) can't be opened
   Product: ark
   Version: 19.12.3
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: elvis.angelac...@kde.org
  Reporter: li...@drmartinus.de
CC: rthoms...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

g to open a zip archive which was created by another program and is bigger than
~2 GB will result in an error message saying that the file is not a zip file.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. select a zip archive larger than ~3.2 GB
2. Open it with Ark

OBSERVED RESULT

as said above, Ark claims that the file is not a zip file. Since other, smaller
zip files created by the same program can be opened by Ark without any
problems, I guess this is a problem with Ark.

EXPECTED RESULT
The zip file should be opened and contents should be able to be extracted with
Ark.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: s. above
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0
Qt Version: 5.14.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I am not sure where the exact threshold is. A zip archive of 4.2 GB size
generates this error message, a zip archive of 3.1 GB size can be opened.

SUMMARY
Is there anyway to reenable the clipboard plugin after in kdeconnect version
1.14. For any rooted android device, the plugin still worked by whitelisting
the kde app. Even in non rooted phones it was still half usual because desktop
to phone worked, but not phone to desktop.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Upgrade to version 1.14 of the android app.
2. copy some text

OBSERVED RESULT
Clipboard syncs to desktop

EXPECTED RESULT
Nothing. Clipboard sharing does not work in either direction.

SUMMARY
I tried to copy some videos I took with my phone cam (unfortunately I used
move) from my android phone (Pocophone F1 MIUI android 10). The videos started
to play but then stopped after about a sec.

I tried with another video to check the checksum of the file copied through
Dolphin from the phone and the file on the phone. They were different!

I tried to copy the same file from the android phone by using send file from
kde connect. This time the checksums matched and the file played.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Browse to phone in Dolphin
2. select and copy mp4 file taken with phone
3. Try to play the file on ubuntu with vlc
4. Video fails to play (might show the first few seconds)

OBSERVED RESULT
Video is broken and md5 sums do not match the file on the phone.

EXPECTED RESULT
Video is not broken and md5 sums match on phone and copied file

I uploaded the test files to my server as they are too big to attach.

Possible to change the Video setting for the KVM guest to be "Virtio" rather

It is then possible to change the size of the "Virtual 1" display in the guest.

That did not change the display size used by SDDM but was remembered once

[krita] [Bug 420213] New: Hard to move vector objects if they are relatively small

2020-04-17 Thread Tymond
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420213

Bug ID: 420213
Summary: Hard to move vector objects if they are relatively
small
   Product: krita
   Version: git master
  Platform: Mint (Ubuntu based)
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Tools/Vector
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: tamtamy.tym...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 127621
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=127621&action=edit
Screenshot of small vector object with only handles visible (impossible to
move)

SUMMARY
I'm using Krita appimage with HiDPI scaling on. Most icons are small enough
that I don't think they should be even smaller. However the vector shapes
handles are too big and created in such a way that makes it very hard to move
small objects.

To move the object, user needs to click inside the handles or on the red
handle. If the object is small, the handles to resize the object take too much
space so it's not possible to move the object.

I wasn't sure if I should mark is as a bug or a wish. It isn't necessarily a
"doesn't work" situation, but it is an issue for me and it doesn't ask for a
new feature.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a new vector shape. Can be a circle.
2. Zoom out a bit. In my case, it stops being any useful at the point when the
circle is a bit bigger than the toolbar icons. More precisely: canvas is
1024x1024, circle 110x110px, "Use same aspects as pixels" is pressed/turned on,
and I have trouble already at 67%, it's getting nearly impossible at 50%, and
it only contains handles at 33% (and here it is impossible: I was trying to
find the correct pixel to click on, but no, it always showed the resize icon,
never the hand one). Note that in case of 50% and 67%, moving the same object
is possible with the Transform Tool if it's converted to the paint layer or if
the vector layer only contains that one object.

OBSERVED RESULT
Very hard to move the vector object, even though it's really not that small.

EXPECTED RESULT
Moving small vector objects is only impossible when they are really, really
small.

Observed with KVM, Fedora 29 KDE spin. Was able to preset the screen size by
creating a:

config file containing

Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Virtual-0"
Option "PreferredMode" "1440x900"

This config option works for me with Fedora 30 and 31 KDE spins (as KVM host

PPC64, fix for alignment of the rt_sigframe data structure.

The PPC64 implementation checks that the data structure is aligned. The
changes in commit listed below breaks the alignment. This patch adds an
explicit alignment directive to ensure the data structure is allocated
with the required alignment. This fixes 31 stderr failures, 10 stdout
failures on the Power 7, Power 8 and Power 9 platforms.
