[konqueror] [Bug 420366] New: konqueror crashes on local bookmarks (directories)

2020-04-20 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420366

Bug ID: 420366
Summary: konqueror crashes on local bookmarks (directories)
   Product: konqueror
   Version: 5.0.97
  Platform: unspecified
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: konq-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: dolge...@informatik.uni-erlangen.de
  Target Milestone: ---

Application: konqueror (5.0.97)

Qt Version: 5.14.1
Frameworks Version: 5.69.0
Operating System: Linux 4.15.0-97-generic x86_64
Windowing system: X11
Distribution: KDE neon User Edition 5.18

-- Information about the crash:
When trying to open bookmarked local directories, current konqueror (5.0.97)
reproducibly crashes. We see that on different machines, i.e. corrupted
bookmarks are unlikely.

Bookmarks are therefore no longer usable when using konqueror as a file
manager. This is particularly unfortunate, since konqueror with its multi-split
window flexibility would be the much more powerful file manager (compared to
dolphin)!

Distribution KDE Neon User Edition, at current patchlevel.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

-- Backtrace:
Application: Konqueror (konqueror), signal: Segmentation fault

But I have found the issue: I installed version 5.62 from source with the same
issue, but then I reverted https://phabricator.kde.org/D22758 and installed it
again and it works.

I will do my best to write a patch :-).

I already know this bug and am working on a patch :-).

If you urgently want it to work you can do the following:

Edit the ~/.config/kdeglobals file

Go to the entry group "[General]"

And change the dbfile entry to:
dbfile=/home/altlinux/.mozilla/firefox/xewbk2mp.default-default/places.sqlite

Then restart KRunner:
kquitapp5 krunner;kstart5 krunner

And it hopefully works.

Do I understand correctly that this is basically the same bug report as 415985
(also reported by you), just for another driver/PPD?

If so, please answer the same questions as asked in bug 415985 comment 4?

(In reply to bruce.samha...@samhaber.ca from comment #4)

> including the special feature - banner mode?

That depends on the PPD/driver you're using, so I'd suggest to check whether
you can find another one for that model.

Some questions to narrow down the issue:

1) Does printing from other Qt/KDE applications work, e.g. Kate?

2) Can you attach the PPD of the printer, located at
/etc/cups/ppd/.ppd?

3) Can you please attach the CUPS debug log which can be retrieved as described
in bug 418551 comment 1 ?

For further analysis, can you please attach:

1) the PPD of the printer, located at /etc/cups/ppd/.ppd

2) a CUPS debug log of one such printout (set 'LogLevel debug' in
/etc/cups/cupsd.conf, then restart CUPS, print, and attach
/var/log/cups/error_log (or the relevant part of it). (Depending on the setting
for 'ErrorLog' in /etc/cups/cups-files.conf, the log output may alternatively
go to the journal, so either retrieve it from there or set 'ErrorLog
/var/log/cups/error_log').

KCrash report

SUMMARY
On Plasma, closing Krita will result in an error notification "Krita closed
unexpectedly". This does not cause any data loss or repercussions afaik, so it
seems to be just an annoyance to be fixed.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Krita
2. Close Krita in any way
3. A Dr. Konqi "Krita Closed Unexpectedly" will appear

OBSERVED RESULT
An error notification pops up whenever Krita is closed.

EXPECTED RESULT
Krita closes cleanly without any error notifications.

I'm stuck at installing non-KDE dependencies. I've removed a lot of packages
because my distribution (Ubuntu 18.04) doesn't have them in repositories.
And now I'm getting conflicts with versions of my installed packages, like
libpulse0 and etc.
This build system is too much hassle :/
It also messes with ~/.bashrc and puts a lot of stuff in my $HOME :/
Should have I built it in a Virtual Machine ? :/

[kwin] [Bug 392376] Wayland socket buffer gets filled up and application terminates when GUI thread was blocked

This issue can be easily hit by anyone with a HDD. Dolphin, Systemsettings,
Kate, Falkon... almost every KDE application is vulnerable to this. This is my
most frequent crash in Wayland sessions.

I don't know if this adds anything new to the discussion, but I tracked down
the origin of the crash in libwayland.

Qt applications crash from QWaylandDisplay::checkError() after
wl_display_dispatch_pending returns negative. So I looked into the library to
see what was going on.

The error within libwayland takes place when recvmsg returns -1 with errno =
104 ("Connection reset by peer") in wl_os_recvmsg_cloexec (wayland-os.c). This
result goes through wl_connection_read (connection.c) until it is handled by
read_events (wayland-client.c).

I don't know how wayland or kwin work, so my questions might not make a lot of
sense: does the above mean that the connection is reset voluntarily by Kwin, or
is it a consequence of the buffer filling up? Can Kwin do anything to prevent
the connection from breaking?

I can reproduce this issue. :( plasma-nm is reporting that the network works
fine. `pkcon` operations work. But Discover shows a network error on the
featured apps page and does not load updates on the updates page.

All KDE stuff built from source on openSUSE Tumbleweed.

I don't know if it would be possible for such an icon to be managed by the

Like giving it a color change function like the system.svg icons in the plasma

Sorry for my silence, I must have uploaded the wrong file, I did download eon
layout from latte itself, but then I edited it, currently there's a single
taskbar and I thought my changes would have gone to that layout files as that's
what my current "distribution" is called. That said, that behavior option fixed
it, I must have missed it when looking through the options, thank you.

At the very least this served to handle more layout configurations, even if it
was due to me uploading the wrong file...

[konsole] [Bug 420361] New: After 6 weeks Konsole Can No Longer Copy/Paste from the Terminal

2020-04-20 Thread Jason Peck
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420361

Bug ID: 420361
Summary: After 6 weeks Konsole Can No Longer Copy/Paste from
the Terminal
   Product: konsole
   Version: 18.04.0
  Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: copy-paste
  Assignee: konsole-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: pugfan...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

After running Konsole for over 6 weeks (it took about 48-49 days this time
around) Copy/Paste become nearly non-functional. You can not copy/paste items
within your terminal. You can not copy and paste to other applications. But
you can copy an item from another application and paste it into your terminal.
Selective highlight does not work; nor does highlighting then opening the menu
and hitting copy; nor does copying with the hot-keys. This issue has been
plaguing me for years.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start and use konsole for at least 48 days
2. After 48 days, try to copy/paste with mouse
3. After 48 days, try to copy/paste with keyboard

OBSERVED RESULT
After 48 days, only copied text from outside the konsole can be pasted in.

EXPECTED RESULT
I expect to be able to copy/paste from anywhere.

In any case...

In your Latte version do you have an option called:

"Behavior -> Items -> Activate based on position global shortcuts" in order to
activate which panel/dock you would like to use for your shortcuts?

of Felix Riiga.

Pushed by ngraham into branch 'master'.

Add imperial gallon and US pint

Summary:
Adds imperial gallon and US pint as requested in a bug report.

Test Plan: I haven't figured out how to test the changes, so any directions are
welcome. I've tried LD_PRELOAD with the compiled library when launching KRunner
to no avail.

I cannot select or do anything in the GUI. It is completely blocked.
Uploading a video to youtube with screen recording.
The only non-default configuration I'm aware of is that i selected to write all
metadata to all images. Like faces / any metadata. But since this is the first
time it is indexing, there is nothing new to store, I suppose.

Here is the video link to the screen recording, will delete this in 24 hours
for privacy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m98cbtU1Hac

[frameworks-knewstuff] [Bug 417510] Update of icons set doesn't work

2020-04-20 Thread Piotr Mierzwinski
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417510

OK. I tried couple times and finally noticed barely visible error message.
It appeared on bottom of window on line of combo boxes as tool tip. I didn't
notice it before because background of tool tip was transparent. I have
transparent Plasma Style, so it's correct. Only I wonder why this error was
reported in totally different way than in other KDE/Plasma applications, where
usually appears (on top or on bottom of window) as red bar with error message
which is pretty visible.
Anyway I got saying nothing (for me) error like:
"Unknown Open Collaboration Service API/error (0)."

I tried to update also in KaOS (up-to-dated). And got the same message.

Please also consider updating the kdesupport/grantlee blueprint to point to

an outdated https://github.com/steveire/grantlee repository.

--- Comment #4 from Albert Astals Cid ---
Ok, then just run okular the way you make it crash, but before making it crash,
open a terminal become root and type

 gdb attach `pidof okular`

once you end up inside the gdb terminal type "continue" and press enter

now make it crash

once it crashed type "bt" and then enter and attach the information here

#2 is going to be implemented with https://phabricator.kde.org/D11382.

#1 seems out of scope for Dolphin. I would recommend using Krusader or
Konqueror if you have those kinds of needs.

Marking as a duplicate of the bug tracking #2. :)
