[digikam] [Bug 420658] New: Tag location suggestion not visible if string is too long.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420658 Bug ID: 420658 Summary: Tag location suggestion not visible if string is too long. Product: digikam Version: 7.0.0 Platform: Appimage OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Tags-Manager Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: iwannaber...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 127919 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=127919=edit Short tag (normal behavior) SUMMARY When typing a new Tag in the Captions/Tag panel on the right, sometimes it suggests a possible location for the tag, and underneath, just the suggestion to place the tag at the root of the tag tree. If the tag name is too long, it is not possible to see the placement suggestion, so among the two suggestions, you cannot know where the tag is going to be created. See attached files. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Select a picture. 2. Start writing a new tag. 3. Observe how two suggestions appear underneath. 4. Keep writing, and the suggestion will not fit the screen. OBSERVED RESULT There is no possible way to tell which suggestion is which. EXPECTED RESULT Maybe using another approach that allows you to see the whole string? Multiline? Smaller text size? SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS digikam-7.0.0-rc-20200423T165750-x86-64.appimage in Ubuntu 20.04LTS with Gnome. [dolphin] [Bug 420657] New: In dolphin please allow users to increase the maximum zoom (larger size of icons)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420657 Bug ID: 420657 Summary: In dolphin please allow users to increase the maximum zoom (larger size of icons) Product: dolphin Version: unspecified Platform: Debian stable OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: view-engine: general Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: myndstr...@protonmail.ch CC: kfm-de...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I'd like to configure a media center within dolphin. In particular I'd like to set up a movies folder which shows movie covers as folder icons, has large folder labels and is zoomed in so that the covers are large. The best way for this would be to have directory-specific view settings and have a preconfigured folder view settings profile called "Movies" which automatically configures all those things dependent on some user variables such as display size. But these would be separate issues. It's already possible to do most of these things in an improvised way by manually selecting folder-icons, disabling preview, selecting the icons mode, zooming in to the maximum and changing the font size for the icon mode under Configure Dolphin->View Modes->Icons->Label font->Custom->Size. This is why the only remaining problem with this improvised solution is the maximum zoom level: the folder-icons (movie covers) aren't large enough at the maximum icon size. This could be fixed in two ways: - increasing the maximum zoom level and/or - giving users the option to configure the maximum zoom level (or multiple options like a maximum zoom level for each view mode) Currently the maximum zoom is 256px which was probably chosen due to icons not being larger than 256 pixels. But even icons of less than 256 px should display properly at a larger resolution. To prevent e.g. less tech-savvy users to configure the view-mode to look very bad it could be made an option or options. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Enter a folder which contains a folder that contains an image 2. Selecting the folder's image to be the folder's icon 3. Disable preview 4. Selecting the icons mode 5. Zoom in to the maximum OBSERVED RESULT Maximum zoom too small (subjective and depends on hardware) EXPECTED RESULT Maximum zoom should be larger or configurable SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: 5.14.5 KDE Plasma Version: 5.14 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.54.0 Qt Version: 5.11.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I previously asked about this here: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/581870/how-to-configure-per-directory-view-settings-in-kde-dolphin-for-a-media-center and I will link to here from there. I might be relevant that the "Zren" fork of dolphin has this: > Added a few "View Modes" which will toggle "Preview" > automatically, and "Zoom" to specific sizes which are > familiar to Windows users. > Huge Icons, Large Icons, and Tiled view mode presets. https://github.com/Zren/dolphin -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

The toolbar does not appear mos of the time, and the keyboard shortcuts such as ctrl-alt-f, alt tab, etc don't work because they get sent to Windows directly. The toolbar appears some times but not always. I noticed that for the first couple of fullscreen->windowed->fullscreen action it appears fine, then suddenly -it takes slightly longer- to enter fullscreen and the toolbar is nowhere to be found, and after that, it's impossible to get out of fullscreen mode. Sometimes I can actually get out because by some obscure miracle Linux catches my alt-tab, but other times for no discernible reason, Windows catches all key combos (even if "Grab Keys" is not active in KRDC and then all I can do is switch to a tty and kill krdc. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open KRDC 2. Connect to Windows using RDP 3. Switch to fullscreen and back to windowed a couple of times 4. Switching to fullscreen takes slightly longer, toolbar disappears completely 5. Impossible to ge the toolbar to come back 6. Committed on 27/04/2020 at 09:36. Pushed by sitter into branch 'master'. smb: accurately attempt to resolve the correct WSD host this previously was the wrong variable. m_current_url is only set after url checking while kurl would be the current url under check. this lead to state confusion was implicit stat() calls from dolphin on host foo would evaluate the previous host (e.g. bar) for the wsd suffix. this meant we'll let a foo with suffix pass through the check, and that just mustn't ever happen. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420578 Harald Sitter changed: What|Removed |Added Ever confirmed|0 |1 Status|REPORTED|ASSIGNED CC||sit...@kde.org --- Comment #2 from Harald Sitter --- Ugh, rather awkward. What happens is that we internally get confused over which url we work on for a brief period of time after discovery, so the suffix handling doesn't kick in. If you wait a couple seconds before trying to browse a server it'll possibly work. BTW, if resolution is slow that suggests problems with your dnssd setup. We simply delegate resolution to your system and dnssd should be lighting fast with avahi on linux because all announcements are cached. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[ark] [Bug 411259] Preview opens scripts as binary files
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411259 --- Comment #7 from Chris --- (In reply to Christoph Feck from comment #6) > Cannot reproduce either with a sample tar.gz that contains an executable > bash script, even if it is marked +x and called *.sh. It is opened KWrite > (my configured text viewer). When I open a tarball that has a bash script in it. It does not what the extension is. Example using the latest claws-mail-3.17.5.tar.xz found from their download site. The tarball has a autogen.sh and a configure in the root of the tarball. Opening either of those files results in Ark opening them as a binary file. It does not matter if the file is executable or not. I have tested both same result. It's quite possible that something is keying in on the shebang "#!". There was a point in the past where bash scripts were opened properly as a text preview. For example opening claws-features.h is the same tarball opens as preview text. I frequently open source code tarballs before compiling to review the compile scripts. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
