2020-05-23 Thread Titir Adhikary
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=422003

Bug ID: 422003
Summary: Some icons in Latte dock are too small compared to
others, and therefore is very hard to select
   Product: lattedock
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: application
  Assignee: mvourla...@gmail.com
  Reporter: slashkey...@outlook.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add a widget whose icon is small compared to normal widgets(in my case
clipboard)
2. Put it between two other normal sized widgets

OBSERVED RESULT

1. Every time I try and select it, it goes either to the icon on the left or on
the right. Its almost impossible to select the small one in the middle.

EXPECTED RESULT

The icon at the middle should get selected on hovering above it.

Essentially the issue I am currently facing is that all my work reimbursements

transaction had to be split between personal and work, so I have selected a tag
in the split editor. When I go to tags and try to find same item, I cannot find
it. Has anyone else come across this issue or has it been fixed in new windows

2020-05-23 Thread S
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=422001

Bug ID: 422001
Summary: KF5 5.70.0 regression: Dolphin shows same SMB share
twice
   Product: frameworks-kio
   Version: 5.70.0
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: fa...@kde.org
  Reporter: sb56...@gmail.com
CC: kdelibs-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Hi there, this appears to be a slight new bug introduced in KDE Frameworks
5.70.0 on openSUSE Tumbleweed. My NAS is named "OpenMediaVault", and in Dolphin
smb:// it normally appears as "OpenMediaVault - SMB/CIFS". But since Tumbleweed
upgraded from KDE Frameworks 5.69.0 -> 5.70.0 it started appearing twice as:
OpenMediaVault - SMB/CIFS
OPENMEDIAVAULT
They both lead to the exact same Zeroconf host-- "smb://openmediavault.local/"
I tried renaming my NAS to "OMV", but it still showed twice:
OMV - SMB/CIFS
OMV

This bug appears to be specific to something in KF5, as I tested the latest
Tumbleweed live ISO with Gnome, and this bug does not happen in Nautilus with
all the other Avahi and samba-client packages being at the same version. Then I
tested the latest openSUSE Leap 15.2 beta with KDE Frameworks 5.69.0, and this
bug doesn't occur. I also am sure it didn't occur on my installed system when
it was running KF5 5.69.0.

Here are the relevant version from the Leap 15.2 beta that does *not* exhibit
this bug:
Operating System: openSUSE Leap 15.2
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.69.0
Qt Version: 5.12.7
Kernel Version: 5.3.18-lp152.13-default

And *with* the bug:
Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20200519
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.70.0
Qt Version: 5.14.1
Kernel Version: 5.6.12

Thanks it has been reported to the vscode team, they are looking into it.

For what it is worth, KDE already knows all the windows that are open at anyone

filing bugs for every individual window/app. I think KDE need to rethink it's
own session management design.

There is a message within the Window Decorations button dragging area that can

Dolphin counts hidden files.

Baloo does not index hidden files by default.

Its your job to find out *which* files are not indexed. Just telling the
numbers are not like what you expect them to be is pointless.

*Iff* there is a file which should be indexed but is not, come back.

SUMMARY

The Application Style KCM has the list of styles pushed a little higher than it
should. The Breeze style is third in the list and because it is the currently
selected style, it puts the user at that location when opening the KCM. While
this is helpful it makes the list untidy.

The currently active style should still be selected, but the list should stay
organized and show the first item at the top of the list and not the selected
style.

@Ken

You can open a separate bug report on Dolphin.

Dolphin is not to blame for "Filesystem is not responding" reported by Zvi.
There have been reports here of cryfs being blocked even in terminal. So,
nothing to do with Dolphin.

Cryfs is not the issue. The issue is dolphin and any large ecrypted
filesystem. I get similar behavior with veracrypt volumes mounted using
zulucrypt. Dolphin has consistently takes a dive anytime a new filesystem
device is suddenly mounted with hundreds of thousands of files.

IMO the activity switcher should be shown in all cases for a brief amount of
time just so that the user knows what activity they've switched to. Switching
activities is not something you do often so when you do switch activities it
would be nice to have some kind of feedback.

[okular] [Bug 421984] Add adress bar, w current page ie [path/to/doc/doc.pdf#page=43], use as a link

2020-05-23 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=421984

--- Comment #2 from 9juh...@informatik.uni-hamburg.de ---
The same reasons speak for an address bar as for an address bar in a browser.
There is no another address bar. An address bar is a dialog box, you can add or
remove something. In my opinion, the possibilities listed are monolog fields,
either-or-fields, and widely dispersed.

I work with long documents. It says in the text: see page 443. When I do that,
I can hardly find my original page afterwards, I want to continue where I was
originally. I would like to be able to click "Open in new window" without
leaving my current position. That's only an example. There are many cases for a
sensible, good use of an address bar. In modern browsers, it is also used to
enter a search phrase. This also lends itself to a document viewer.

However, it only becomes useful with URLs that contain the page or anchor and
are displayed dynamically, depending on the current position of my document in
the visible area. Then I can copy to paste in another instance (open in new
window), or save or share. Or do many other wonderful, simple and useful things
with it.

[lattedock] [Bug 421981] Latte dock multi-monitor screen space reservation

2020-05-23 Thread Alexandre Pereira
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=421981

ok, i compiled it locally on opensuse.

and tested again to copy the gentoo settings file to opensuse and now opensuse
is working also ! ( so the settings file which didn't work on opensuse, does
now work on opensuse with the latest git latte-dock )

I think its safe to mark it as resolved, but if anything appears I will comment
here again.

2020-05-23 Thread MarcP
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=421943

Sure. I like it the way it is, I just didn't know about some options. As long
as it provides all that flexibility, it's fine.

Maybe the only thing I would miss would be to directly input SQL-like queries,
but I don't know if that's even possible.

I think I finally worked out what was triggering this crash, although I don't
understand what seems to be a rare sequence of events leading up to it. It
should now be fixed, for KDE release 20.04.2, KAlarm version 2.14.2, by commit
815c32b1c5de414b2e93dd03aa9b1e60818f499d.

Disable scrolling overshoot

It was introduced in 51b90ecd73e37b9646d8a4bbb51e4fa815942912 together
with kinetic scrolling, but people do not like it.

I didn't get a chance to re-install kubuntu on my desktop pc, but I did install
it on my laptop (Toshiba Qosmio x505) and it has the same issue, except it
doesn't recover as well after restarting sddm (probably because it uses old
Nvidia 340 driver). My PC also uses Nvidia, but v440 driver.

Okular is not a browser.

But you get an address bar (even with autocompletion) at Ctrl+O. AFAIK you can
even type the page number there, just without page=. You can input the path in
different formats, the KIO library is your browser there.

You can also configure Okular to show the document path in the window title
bar, and the page number is shown in the “page bar”, or optionally in the main
toolbar.

So what is the reason to add another bar for this purpose?

Yes, I know the advanced search is complex, but also very powerful if you add
more search groups. I know that your focus is on tags, but a reversal within
the search group only for tags makes no sense, then this should also be
available for all other options. Maybe we would need a good tutorial for the
advanced search. I close the bug.

I won't use Resolved Duplicate because the audio sync problems are well known

If you have frame sync problems or any problems on playback, not related to

Say you're typing the name of an item which is composed of two or more words
separated by spaces. Does the message appear as soon as you press the space

opinion, that could be distracting.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=421981

finally some luck at reproducibiliting:

uploading two settings files: gentoo.layout.latte and opensuse.layout.latte

the gentoo.layout.latte was the gentoo settings which is working in the gentoo
system with kde plasma 5.18.5 and latte-dock git latest ( should have you fix
already ).

opensuse.layout.latte settings file, is gentoo.layout.latte but after running
on opensuse system with kde plasma git packages and latte-dock trdmi git
packages ( should not have your fix yet ).

So on gentoo the settings files works, on opensuse ( being the same,
copied from gentoo ) it doesn't.

You only need 2 groups:

Select first normal group, tags brother1 and brother2 (in ALL)
Second group "None of these conditions are met" as "AND" with the tags Person1
and Person2 (In One of).

well, in opensuse I have to wait for the packages to be rebuild, so i changed
to my gentoo system.

I just compiled the git package, and seems to be working on gentoo ( with
gentoo settings file )

I will copy the gentoo settings file ( which works ) to opensuse and see if it
works or not.
