[elisa] [Bug 421662] Elisa does not release PowerManagement inhibitions on exit if it's playing when exited
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=421662 --- Comment #8 from Gabriel Marcano --- Here's the PowerDevil commit that introduced the delay: https://github.com/KDE/powerdevil/commit/eca79138c15575f6f523a8680919b407f84da2e2 It's a conscious decision by the powerdevil developers. As far as I can tell, even though powerdevil takes 5 seconds to post an inhibit request, they DO track if they receive an uninhibit request before those 5 seconds are up (https://github.com/KDE/powerdevil/blob/master/daemon/powerdevilpolicyagent.cpp#L599). As far as I can tell powerdevil returns a cookie immediately, so elisa should receive one before the inhibit is officially posted. In other words, for some reason elisa isn't sending a request when it should to uninhibit. I "fixed" this problem by doing synchronous dbus commands on the destructor (not ideal, because of possible exceptions? Maybe? Not sure, haven't looked to see how dangerous calling dbus related classes in the destructor is), making sure that if we have a cookie, to send a message to uninhibit. I could do a bit more digging to make sure https://github.com/KDE/elisa/blob/master/src/audiowrapper_qtmultimedia.cpp#L194 is being fired when we're exiting, and that elisa is actually requesting for the power manager to be uninhibited. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

This bug was reported for Plasma 5.18, so it should be fixed for > Plasma 5.18 as well. The same applies to bug 421344 and bug 416510. That's not really how this works, I'm afraid. Not all bugs are possible to fix in the LTS. For example sometimes fixing a bug requires implementing a new feature ore re-architecting the backend, neither of which are appropriates changes for an LTS release. > Otherwise, I see no reason to report bugs and > send patches, that will not get into the Plasma version, that I'm using. You should consider using the latest released version. :) IMO always using the newest one makes more sense than using the LTS version. In fact, yo already implicitly agree by using KDE Neon, which does not stick to the LTS version and already offers 5.19. Consider upgrading to that. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[digikam] [Bug 407049] Import fails to detect duplicate photos
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=407049 --- Comment #10 from klaus --- One more comment - There still seems to be some room for improvement with this Similarity/Duplicates Search. Even with a range of 99/100 the system couldn't find a file that is a straight duplicate in 2 separate folders. Same filename, same everything (except minor metadata difference post copy operation, maybe). When I set the range to 98/100 the image duplicate appears. For example, I have multiple accounts with Merrill Lynch, and have previously had both checking and savings accounts with more than one bank, but am not aware of any such ID. [kmymoney] [Bug 352683] Transactions in Ledger page not removed when Investment is deleted or closed
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=352683 --- Comment #6 from Jack --- I'm confused about the details here. To the best of my understanding, you can close an investment if there are currently no shares of it held in any investment account. Closing it prevents creating or editing any transaction referring to that specific investment. Deleting an investment is only possible if it is not referred to in any transaction, and as it totally deletes the definition of that investment, you clearly cannot buy shares of it after it is deleted (without re-creating it as a new investment.) Aside from the problem of the program not making it obvious why you cannot close or delete an investment (which should be wishlist enhancements) is there anything else about this which can still be considered a bug, or separate wishlist item? (I may separately file a new wishlist for more explicit clarification of the difference between securities and equities - one providing a baseline definition of the stock or bond, and the other being an account which holds shares. (I'm trying hard not to use the specific terms here, hopefully it avoids more confusion instead of adding it.) Those accounts only occur within Investment accounts, and there can be multiple such accounts for a single underlying stock/bond.) In terms of the current subject of this bug, the current process is that any transactions referring to a security can block the deletion of that stock. It doesn't make sense for closing or deleting a security to delete any transactions, since that is altering history. If you really want to do that, delete the transactions first, then close or delete the security. I'm not sure if this needs to be converted to (a better specified) wishlist, or closed as either WONTFIX or NOTABUG. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
