Yes, looks like this was an issue with `plasma-wayland-protocols` which was
fixed by:

https://invent.kde.org/libraries/plasma-wayland-protocols/-/commit/404ae95b.patch

and Arch seems to have patched it.

I suppose you can also add your widgets one by one until you find out which
widget is causing this. Latte can not take responsibility for widgets
malfunctioning.

I think the consensus here is we don't want to get rid of the ability to select
and change the loop region during playback.

Also, Eoin and I added a pause button to the Animation Timeline Docker
transport controls that make it pretty easy to stop playback on a specific
frame, which hopefully should make it relatively easy to stop your animation
and add a new keyframe by feel.

I'm going to close this wishlist item for now.

Xapian::DatabaseModifiedError exception when it tries processEnquire. It
reopens the database and retries endlessly and never completes.

I'm working on this. I have a crude proof-of-concept working that needs a lot
of refinement to handle cases like multi-screen (also save the screen that the
window is on), multiple screen arrangements (save settings per screen
arrangement) and multiple instances of the same app (cascade the new window?
set no position at all and let the window manager decide? Something else?).

See:
-
https://invent.kde.org/frameworks/kconfig/-/tree/work/ngraham/save-window-positions
-
https://invent.kde.org/frameworks/kxmlgui/-/tree/work/ngraham/save-window-positions
and

I will keep working on it, but help would of course be appreciated. :)

[kmymoney] [Bug 424775] I will NOT go out to a bank or ANY institution and retrieve any data!, I have USED Quicken for years. I printed the connection data, tested each by hand with a browser. and

2020-07-29 Thread Richard L. Stuart

Guys it was NOT my intent to come across in that way.  There is a typo
in the reference you make.  - it seriously change things. The quote:

"I will NOT go out to a bank " Should have been "It will NOT go out to a
bank... simple meaning that none of my attenpt to get it to retrieve the
banking transaction - would not result in the software connecting to a bank or
credit card institution. Basically nothing happened. My bad, the t was
missing - I should have been IT.

Some play you all asked where I am located and I forgot to respond to that
part. I am in Columbia, Maryland.

Additionally, You ask for me to review the wording. Very Happy to do that --
HOW, were do I go etc. and what login is required??

Thanks for the support.
PS: Mint update doesn't seem to further update. I have used Ubuntu, Centos
and I could change for this purpose if repositories for them would have a later
version. Or as with some distros, they have various packages all ready
installed. Like Libre Office etc. Is there a distro, ISO with KMyMoney
installed. I could run it in Virtualbox and get familiar with it. Actually,
I run Quicken in a Virtualbox with WIN 10 as the Isolation provides a bit more
security. - As "Box" is shutdown normally and some what hidden.
Anyway let make ammends somehow. If you want to edit my earlier imput - I am
happy with that..

Let's make sure the canvas we're setting `null` is the right one, shall we? :)
This should solve the crash without reintroducing the soft-lock on graphics
acceleration changes.

Bug ID: 424814
   Summary: latte-dock memleak (widgets?)
   Product: lattedock
   Version: git (master)
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: critical
  Priority: NOR
 Component: application
  Assignee: mvourla...@gmail.com

SUMMARY
latte dock is was causing my system to hang on startup. I quickly switched to a
try upon startup and ran a htop to see if I can figure anything out and latte
dock was using 17GB of ram. I uninstalled latte-dock and there are no more
hangs

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Im going to list the last thing I was doing in latte dock as this happened
after I tried adding some widgets so it could be that

1. found out grouping widget works in latte now
2. added grouping widget to side bar in the moe layout
3. added a few widgets to monitor temps, disk space, and netspeeds as well as a
few systems controls like Bluetooth

OBSERVED RESULT
latte uses 17GB of ram causing the system to hang

EXPECTED RESULT
Latte use a few hundred MB of ram 1GB at most

Fixed animated transparency mask -> paint layer conversion.

Can reproduce starting at a panel thickness of 52. At 50 and below, the hit
area is the right size; at 52 and above, it's too large with the two-row/column
layout.

[kmymoney] [Bug 424775] I will NOT go out to a bank or ANY institution and retrieve any data!, I have USED Quicken for years. I printed the connection data, tested each by hand with a browser. and

2020-07-29 Thread Jack
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=424775

Richard - a lot of this is in the wording. Please consider editing the
subject. It starts by saying "I will NOT go out to a bank " which sounds
like you are refusing to do what the program requires. I now suspect you meant
that you couldn't find a way to make to program download data from the bank. A
good start here would be to reword the subject. Second, if you reply by email,
and not directly at bugs.kde.org, you can trim all the original unless you
explicitly need to show what you are referring to. The bug system just takes
your entire email and makes it the next comment.

If you had dome much searching, you would have found many cases in the kmymoney
mailing list of people with problems importing lots of data from Quicken. In
addition to what Brendan said, those threads probably have additional
suggestions.

Now - I think the bottom line is not that you are reporting a bug, but asking
for help getting started using KMyMoney. That is better done on the mailing
list (see https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kmymoney as well as
https://kmymoney.org/support.html for other ways of getting help.

Finally, it's really good to work at one or maybe two parts of the problem at a
time. If you've been working at it for days, and then put all the problems
you've had in a single message, it gets overwhelming, and makes things seem
much worse than they are. There are plenty of folks here who want to see you
succeed with KMyMoney - but give it some time.

  Platform: Compiled Sources

Status: REPORTED

Assert crash backtrace after adding Stamp tool.

SUMMARY
I added the default Stamp tool (despite warning) to Quick Annotations, and
selected it.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add tool: Quick Annotations -> Configure...
2. Use tool: Quick Annotations -> Stamp [Alt+7]

OBSERVED RESULT
Crash: See backtrace

EXPECTED RESULT
Makes useless Stamp annotations, so I can test transparency

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
KDE Neon 5.19
KDE Plasma Version: 5.19.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.72
Qt Version: 5.14.2

First idea is that AnnotationTools is not updated at configChanged(), but only
at “Add to Quick Annotations”. But the crash persists after restart, and
produces the same backtrace. It still seems like tool() returns a null
QDomNode, since QList::at(-2) is called.

When I add another Stamp tool from “Add to Quick Annotations”, only the second
Stamp tool works.

Apparently the same is true for other tool types.

Corners + Rotoscoping crash test file

UMMARY
When adding a Rotoscoping effect under a Corners effect, Kdenlive crashes when
I try to move a handle of the roto's shape.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. from a new blank project, add any 2 clips (e.g. 2 color clips, one black,
one white)
2. stack them on top of each other in the timeline
3. add a Corners effect to the top one
4. move its handles
5. add a Rotoscoping effect on the same clip
6. add some handles and right-click to confirm (Kdenlive may already crash)
7. move the playhead
8. add a keyframe to the Rotoscoping
9. try to move a handle

By now Kdenlive should have crashed. If not, add some more keyframes and edit
the shape.

Attached to this report is a simple file that crashes after I move the playhead
and try to edit the roto's shape in the existing keyframe.

It's not really about offending anyone, it's about asking nicely working better
than your first approach.

The open source programs that you mentioned are all developed by large teams
and I believe many of the developers are paid for their work. KMM is maintained
by a small group of volunteers that are more than willing to help as you can
see if you monitor the developer mailing list. You can learn a lot from reading
the mailing list. You also need to be patient.

I moved to KMM from MS Money 15 years ago. I'm sure I was frustrated at first
and I'm sure KMM was much less feature complete than it is today. It does not
do everything well and many of the enhancements that I'm sure the developers
would like to work on have been on hold while KMM was moved from KDE 4 to KDE
5. They have done a ton of work in the last couple of years or more just to
keep up with KDE. It appears that some big changes are finally being worked on
now that KMM 5 has stabilized but you need to adjust your expectations if you
want a feature for feature replacement for Quicken.

Two points I can help with are importing your Quicken data and downloading your
transactions from your bank. As you have determined, KMM can't import your
Quicken file or the backup file. You have to export each account to a QIF file
and then import it into KMM. 15 years ago this was painful but I suspect KMM
has gotten much better at matching transactions which should minimize
duplicates that will happen for transfers. It may still take a lot of work to
get everything into KMM. I finally gave up in 2005 and started mostly clean.

As far as importing from your bank, you need to map the account first. Make
sure the KBanking and/or OFX Importer plugins are checked in the KMM Settings.
Then open an account ledger and click on "Map account..." in the Account menu.
I am in the US and use OFX Import so I can help you with it. I can't help with
KBanking. The import process has is not always perfect due to many banks not
supporting it others not following the OFX specifications. I have been able to
work through all of my issues with help from the mailing list but it was
frustrating and not the fault of KMM. Plus the import relies on libraries from
other projects so not all import issues can be fixed in KMM.

If you find features missing that you'd like implemented, use the bug tracker
to add to the wish list. Make sure you include details and images to make it
clear what you are looking for.

Yeah, if we used elementaryOS's margins I guarantee that we'd get tons of bug

bit, especially for the case of small icons where the margins (or lack thereof)
is more prominent.

gnome | macOS | elementary

IMHO the margins should be increased overall. Currently, it is waaay too small,
depending largely on the margins of the own icon. This should be avoided
because we cannot always expect the icon to have margins, especially the third
party ones, and because even if the icon has a margin, the icon itself may vary
in width, leading again to the feeling of inconsistent spacing in the tray. The
way other systems deal with this is increasing the margins. See elementary is
the screenshot for an example, the sound/volume icon is almost 3 times the
width of the Bluetooth, however, since the spacing between the items is more
prominent, the extra pixels taken up by the volume icon is barely perceived,
and it does not interfere with the general feeling of organization in the tray.
This doesn't mean the plasma systray should adopt the elementary spacing, I
think that is a bit excessive, but a middle ground should be beneficial.

[applets/taskmanager] Make new "cycle through tasks" option the default

This is ultimately the sanest default as it provides the quickest way to
perform the two most common actions for grouped tasks: switching to the
last-used one, or hunting through all of them to find the one you want.
The "Cycle through task" option allows you to perform both actions with
clicks on the same icon, meaning that you don't have to move your cursor
or your visual focus compared to using any of the other three methods.

2020-07-29 Thread Richard L. Stuart

First,  I am sorry if I offended you or anyone else.

I read much about - GnuCash, KMyMoney etc. etc. before trying any of
these softwares for Linux.

I have thought about this in the past, but  Quicken's new Licence
arrangement push me on to trying.(You basically have to re-up every
year,  they claim new features but all I note is a difference in the
GUI, for me just added frustration.  So I am looking for something more
solid and stable, and consistent. That has always been my experience
with Linux based software. LybreOffice, GIMP, Thunderbird Mail etc. etc.

We are human and so our past experience usually shapes our expectation
in a similar area..

I didn't try KMyMoney first, and my first "setup" experience went very
well - it imported my Quicken Backup file directly.   But when I tried
to get "accustom" to it's GUI, organization of accounts, Institutions
etc.- Well - certainly not my cup of tea. I fooled around looking at
others,  must did NOT have any pictures of the Interface/Organization
etc.  Until  I ran across KMyMoney- So I had great expectation.

On trying to setup,  KMyMoney would not import the QuickenBk file as
others had.( I mention this to indicate that the backup file I am using
is Likely OK)    So,  I got the data and I had entered it into
KMyMoney,  10 accounts. and it displayed OK, had starting amount,
beginning of the year - all looks good, but of course, no actual
transactions yet. Save works, and reopen work and back to, of course the
exact same, so far nice display etc.

Now how do I get this to wifi contact the banks/institution and update
-  I could be wrong but I am thinking that was the idea, - the plan -
developed in the software.

The "disconnect"  I am thinking is in one or two areas or both.

Data input to KMyMoney,  I went to all of the displays for data input in
Quicken and copied all the data, ( I think)  but something is
missing.  I found what I thought was the corresponding locations in
KMyMoney - but some thing is not correct?.

The Main page shows the Checking and Savings accounts - under Assets,
and Credit Cards under Liabilities.   Nothing stands out as strange,  It
all saves and reopens fine,  but will NOT update the Transctions,  etc.
(That is NOT a criticism of YOU - It is just stating my experience, so
you have something to go on to assist in finding a solution! )

How I installed this,    I have Mint 19.3 on this computer,  and several
others,   I also have Mint 20 (they skipped .5-.9 and went to 20.0
As you likely know  Mint is based on Ubuntu.   In Mint to install a
software,  you just go to the Software Manager, Search:   KMyMoney and
it finds it and installs it and the dependencies.  It indicates it is
installing the latest. and I do frequent Updates.  BUT from you guys
there is a later version of KMyMoney -   5.1.0  I assume  I should
be able to get a copy of same. so I will look for it.

Thanks for any help.

Richard Stuart

PS: When you have a free moment, I know not very likely, checkout:
www.itu-int.us

PPS:  Other software like Quicken etc which DID read the Quicken Backup
file duplcated a number of the transaction, so while it looked nice it
had a final total that was way off.

I think El Capitan was tho Mac OS just before my High Sierra which is 10.13.6.
After reading this latest comment, I went google searching more and found other
posts elsewhere about digikam iphone photo folder access after os 10 updates.

I’m nowhere near knowing program terms and can’t make heads nor tails of the
stuff in the link you provided or stuff people tried to get around this issue.

Is there any terminal command that can be used to allow the Mac OS to “trust”
the iphone or digikam to access the iOS hardware?

I think I might try connecting my Nikon to see if I have the same issue.

>I have a question about the calculator part in krunner? It works like kcalc

We replace the current separator with a dot (calculatorrunner.cpp line 190):
>cmd.replace(QLocale().decimalPoint(), QLatin1Char('.'), Qt::CaseInsensitive);
So if the decimal point from LC_NUMERIC is a comma than this will get replaced
internally.

>Yes, the locale was es_PE.UTF-8, but according to the format settings in
>systemsettings, es_PE uses dot (.) for the decimal separator so i am not sure
>which one kde follows.
If you define a value in the detailed settings the env variable gets
overwritten. And the
$ locale -kc LC_NUMERIC
command uses the locale settings and not env variable, that might be the issue.

Hello!

I tried building gcompris with clang++ and the build failed. Please let me know
what I am missing.

Hey again.

I think this issue has been addressed by both the new scrollbar behavior (which
expands the range much more smoothly) and the fact that the range now expands
to match the start-end frame range timeline settings.

Let me know if there is more that needs to be done here and feel free to reopen
this bug report. Closing for now. :)

Thanks for using Wayland. :)

I can reproduce. The issue is not new and is actually caused by the icons
themselves having inconsistent side margins. It may be exacerbated by the "One
row of small icons" setting because that setting has very small spacing (by
design for people who like super compact system trays because they have tons
and tons of icons in it) because now with smaller extra margins, the icons' own
margins become more visible.

The WiFi icons seem to be particularly bad offenders.

(In reply to Colin Griffith from comment #17)

You're describing a well know bug in the xi2 protocol. When an application
receives a XI_Enter event, it needs to reset scroll valuators. From the user's
perspective, it can be seen as the first scroll being ignored.

It doesn't always crash on Windows. The defective image can often be loaded
until the image error occurs. There could be a problem with the Error-JMP
function on Windows. There are no problems with Linux.
