[Spectacle] [Bug 425995] CLI options are missing the ability to exclude window decorations
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=425995 --- Comment #12 from David Redondo --- I agree, best would be to define a default behavior (I would go for including decorations and hiding the pointer, the default values of those settings) and then provide command line options to override those. In my mind the options in main window of spectacle are specific to the the screenshots taken from there and should not apply to the cli. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[Skanlite] [Bug 424010] Add some wiggle room when determining which page size a scanner supports given the physical dimensions of its scan area
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=424010 --- Comment #4 from Michael --- Yes, just a few millimeter epsilon would be helpful. For example my scanner says it supports a width of 215mm, which is 8.46457 inches. Because it's less than 8.5 inches, owners of this scanner won't see the 8.5" Letter sized scan area. However if we were a bit more forgiving, wiggling by one more mm of width, like 216mm, that would make all the difference because that equals 8.50394 inches. So if Skanlite had a wiggle factor of a few mm when filtering to show supported supported scan areas, that would be helpful. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kstars] [Bug 426846] New: Kstars doesn't scale properly on a phone screen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426846 Bug ID: 426846 Summary: Kstars doesn't scale properly on a phone screen Product: kstars Version: 3.4.3 Platform: Debian stable OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: mutla...@ikarustech.com Reporter: darkmani...@posteo.net Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY This isn't so much a bug as a feature request. I'm using kstars on the Pinephone linux phone running Mobian (Debian for mobile), and have found it to be the best astronomy app for the phone. Thank you for making such a great product! My only problem is that the app doesn't scale properly on the small screen of a phone without some tweaks. It comes close, but some of the menus on the top bar are off the screen using the default setup. I can make it work by switching the phone to horizontal layout and setting the global "scale-to-fit" option in Phoc (the compositor) to "on," and then it works great. But the Purism developers of Phoc have told me they are going to remove the global scaling option sooner or later, and that I should report apps that don't scale properly on the phone to the developers. So I wanted to reach out and see if you would consider revising the app a bit to make it scale properly on screens that are smaller than your typical computer or tablet size. Please let me know if there's any information I can provide, or testing I can do, to help in this effort. Thank you. [krita] [Bug 426845] New: Creating a transparency mask from a selection causes move tool to move only main layer without transparency mask
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426845 Bug ID: 426845 Summary: Creating a transparency mask from a selection causes move tool to move only main layer without transparency mask Product: krita Version: 4.3.0 Platform: Microsoft Windows OS: Microsoft Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Filter Layers Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: firefly6...@yahoo.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY If a transparency mask is simply created and then brush strokes are made on the mask, when the move tool is used on the primary layer, both that layer and the mask move together. However, if a selection tool (outline, rectangular) is used on the primary layer, and then the user selects to create a transparency mask, attempting to move the primary layer using the move tool only moves the primary layer and not the transparency mask. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Have basic image/paint layer. 2. Use selection tool on layer. 3. Create transparency mask (that is then filled in based on selection) 4. Select primary layer and attempt to move via move tool. OBSERVED RESULT Only primary layer moves - resulting in the mask staying in the same place. EXPECTED RESULT Both primary layer and mask should move together - just as if the mask was created via another means other than selection. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: 10 KDE Frameworks Version: LGPLv2.1+ Qt Version: GPLv2 + GPLv3 + LGPLv2.1 + LGPLv3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION If a brush stroke is made within the transparency mask (regardless of if it "changes" anything - i.e. making a small white brush stroke in the midst of the solid white area), then the move tool will work as expected. Videos exampling the issue: https://i.gyazo.com/21e5cd614ff657a96a0a2a20b5f08d11.mp4 https://i.gyazo.com/4fda169a129498f608f6e0159fbd.mp4 https://i.gyazo.com/d51fbf4e10b8c78dbf27ac3a7f7e93fa.mp4 Description of videos, copied from Krita's discord: The first video is me creating a transparency mask for a layer, filling it black, and then the video shows me painting in it, selecting the paint layer, and then moving it and it, well, moves. The second video shows me using a select tool, creating a transparency layer which automatically (yay!) fills in based on the selection. But then if I try to move that paint layer, it only moves the paint layer, not the mask. The third video is then taking that same layer, making a brush stroke within the transparency mask, and then again attempting to move the main layer - successfully now that a brush stroke has been made. tiar, from the krita-help Discord channel, directed me here to go ahead and submit this as a bug report. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[digikam] [Bug 426481] Face recognition feels like a regression from 6.4
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426481 --- Comment #5 from Martin --- Installed digiKam-7.2.0-Beta1, rebuilt the training data, reset specificity to default (70) and then scanned for faces - this all worked without error. Tagged a few faces and then attempted to run "Recognise faces". However, at this point it just displays a notification with the following: "Face recognition is aborted because there are no identities to recongise. Please add new identities." As a workaround, I tried manually selecting some images and choosing 'Item...Scan for Faces'. This worked and from my brief testing Digikam did a much better job of recognising faces correctly. Aside: The interface / workflow improvements are great. Much easier to manage and tag faces :) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

This is inconvenience as to many times I would like to view System Tray info, time, set volume, etc. while watching a video without having to exit full screen. As an example, on the Mac, when you move the mouse to the top or bottom of the screen the menus show up and you can make selections from the system tray. [Spectacle] [Bug 425995] CLI options are missing the ability to exclude window decorations
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=425995 --- Comment #11 from Karl Robillard --- When you can break compatibility I would recommend consolidating the Area options to free up some letters with something like this: -a, --area Area to Capture (default all) That would also make it clear that these are mutually exclusive. But for right now how about removing the --no-include* options leaving: -e, --include-decorations Include window decorations in the screenshot -p, --include-pointer Include pointer in the screenshot 'e' is for the [E]nclosing window d[E]corations and [E]mbellishments of course. You might consider using "--show-" instead of "--include-" to make the long options shorter as that language is used in the Tool Tips, but then it would not match the checkbox labels as well. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426837 Bug ID: 426837 Summary: Text file previews showing up blank depending on file extension Product: dolphin Version: 19.12.3 Platform: Kubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: view-engine: icons mode Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: 7485...@gmail.com CC: kfm-de...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 131845 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=131845&action=edit Screenshot of text file previews SUMMARY I have previews for text files enabled, and when I first installed the system, they did work perfectly. After a few days of running, though, *some* text files are now showing blank preview images. (See attached screenshot.) It seems to depend on the file extension. If the file ends in .txt or has no extension at all, the preview is blank. But other text file extensions such as .cfg, .dat, and .ini are working perfectly. See the attached screenshot -- in this screenshot, all five text files are exactly identical copies of each other and differ only in the filename. Three show perfect preview images, but two show blank previews. (All other file type previews are working perfectly.) When text files are placed on the desktop, it shows the icon for a text file and doesn't attempt to preview them -- don't know if that's relevant or not. This seems similar to bug #113572 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=113572 but I thought I'd put it up as a new bug since that one is 15 years old and has been marked as not reproducible. Using Kubuntu 20.04 Tried several cold reboots; problem persists. Tried disabling text file previews and re-enabling it; problem persists. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. create several identical text files, one with no file extension, and one each with .txt, .cfg, .ini, .dat 2. enable text file previews and view the folder these text files are in 3. (hopefully) observe that the text file with the blank extension and the one with the .txt extension show blank preview images, while the other three show correct preview images SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu 20.04 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0 Qt Version: 5.12.8 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
