[plasmashell] [Bug 427700] New: Bluetooth mouse lags after couple of seconds inactivity

2020-10-14 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427700

Bug ID: 427700
Summary: Bluetooth mouse lags after couple of seconds
inactivity
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: el...@seznam.cz
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

Created attachment 132353
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=132353&action=edit
mouse jumps

SUMMARY
I use Bluetooth mouse. When I leave it inactive for about 3 seconds and then
move it, cursor doesn't update its position for a short time (maybe 100 ms) and
then jumps into new position. It looks like mouse gets disconnected after 3
seconds and then it needs to reconnect, when I move the mouse. This issue was
not present with 5.19.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Connect bluetooth mouse
2. Wait for cca 3 seconds
3. Move mouse

OBSERVED RESULT
Mouse cursor jumps.

EXPECTED RESULT
Curso movement should be immediate and fluid

Font is the default one, there is forced font DPI of 120 set from the Screen
settings (Global scaling of 125%) default icon and plasma theme. I will try
with a new user just to be sure this is not a messed up config.

Artifacts with polygonal selection tool

I can confirm this for the 4.4.0 appimage and also for the 4.3.0 appimage.

The artifacts happen if canvas graphics acceleration is turned off.
When the polygonal selection is completed, the artifacts go away.
If any other window becomes active, the artifacts go away.

The artifacts seem to be drawn fragments of the assistant preview lines and
they are 'swept away' by the polygonal selection construction line.

When the selection is completed then the artifacts go away.

With the Outline(freehand) selection tool, there are artifacts but they are
concentrated at the point of drawing the selection.

With the rectangular and elliptical selection tool, there are short lived
temporary artifacts due to break up of the assistant preview lines but the
preview lines seem to be continuously refreshed.

When the selection is completed and drawn, the artifacts go away.

Are you facing this issue on the default KDE panel or do you use something like

I was using latte dock when this issue hit me, I removed latte dock and am
using the default panel now where this issue does not seem to exist.

If you are using a custom dock/panel, can you try switching temporarily to the
default one and see if this issue persists? Maybe this is not a KDE bug/issue.

SUMMARY

Sorry if this is the wrong section, this is meant to be a feature request.
Basically I'd love to see an option to enable .zip previews in the style of
.cbz where the icon is replaced with the first image in the folder. My
reasoning is as follows:
1)it is useful as I deal with a lot of .zip folders with lots of images inside
2)it would basically btfo yacreader as it would let dolphin operate as a comic
library with only one simple change
3)i feel a lot of people would benefit from this, even though it's a feature
they might not know they need.

ARM64 VEX frontend support for fmadd/fmsub

This should implement the frontend support by replacing the separate Iop_Mul
and Iop_Add with a single Iop_MAddF(32|64). But looking at the tests something
is wrong because all results are garbled. Possibly we are not passing the
arguments in the correct order. Will have to investigate with --trace-flags to
see what IR is really generated and which fmadd/fmsub instructions are really
produced by the backend.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=224450

(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #2)
> Are they still missing, or have they since been added?

Most of them are still missing. Only PrepareForSleep is available now through
login1 dbus interface (resumingFromSuspend from Solid's Powermanagement
interface has been removed):

qdbus --system org.freedesktop.login1 /org/freedesktop/login1 | grep signal
signal void org.freedesktop.DBus.Properties.PropertiesChanged(QString
interface, QVariantMap changed_properties, QStringList invalidated_properties)
signal void org.freedesktop.login1.Manager.PrepareForShutdown(bool)
signal void org.freedesktop.login1.Manager.PrepareForSleep(bool)
signal void org.freedesktop.login1.Manager.SeatNew(QString, QDBusObjectPath)
signal void org.freedesktop.login1.Manager.SeatRemoved(QString,
QDBusObjectPath)
signal void org.freedesktop.login1.Manager.SessionNew(QString, QDBusObjectPath)
signal void org.freedesktop.login1.Manager.SessionRemoved(QString,
QDBusObjectPath)
signal void org.freedesktop.login1.Manager.UserNew(uint, QDBusObjectPath)
signal void org.freedesktop.login1.Manager.UserRemoved(uint, QDBusObjectPath)

I guess PrepareForSleep can be used for both hibernate (suspend to disk) and
sleep (suspend to ram). I do not see how a signal for lock screen can be
usefull. A signal for wake up (resuming from suspend) is usefull to overcome
some gpu problems, though usually you need to run the commands for that as
root. I usually use the directory /etc/pm/ from pm-utils to run scripts just
before sleeping and after wake up. That is not exactly user friendly but works
ok.

[krunner] [Bug 408650] 'krunner' crashes when I try some math statement.

2020-10-14 Thread Здравко Гърмев
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=408650

To be honest I don't use this feature since. I just tried and seems everything
works fine, but this isn't guarantee. Crashes got brought up from time to time,
in the past rather often. Even more, from time to time krunner's addon module
disappeared even without math expressions inside. A good news is that recently
krunner seems more stable and doesn't crashed since some time at all. In this
context we can assume some upstream release has fixed the issue, even not
confirmed unconditionally.
Anyway... We can set this case closed. If the same brings up again, I will post
again here or open new bug report.
Thanks for your interest, Alexander Lohnau!

when I send KILL signal to Xwayland process from Ksysguard, The entire session

1. start plasma with wayland.

I tried with both GDM and following command on tty:-

Thanks for reporting. The real error will be the one you get immediately: The R
engine does not start. The subsequent crash is not pretty, but likely just a
symptom of the former: As the message says, hardly anything is expected to work
in this case.

So about the first problem:
- What R version do you have installed (you are aware that R needs to be
installed, separately)?
- If the answer is R 4.0.x, this is not expected to work with RKWard 0.7.1b.
Please try using this RKWard image, instead (a preview of 0.7.2, which is due
to be released, officially, in a few days):

That looks suspiciously like it might align with the problem! This is what
happens when there qresync is against a state from before the last data that
was cleaned up by an expunge. Interesting. This suggests there's a bug which
is bumping the deletedmodseq value too high inside the cyrus index, which is
leading to us falling back to the "report all gaps" algorithm, and THAT must be
buggy!

You are only showing the properties dialog having incorrect numbers. That has
nothing to do with what is actually shown in dolphin or what will be copied.
What makes you think that files are actually missing in either of these
scenarios?

Are the files in the directory indeed only jpg files, or are there possibly
sym/hardlinks involved as well?
