[krita] [Bug 429689] Animated mask layers do not have an indicator to show they are animated

2021-01-19 Thread Ahab Greybeard
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=429689

Hi Eoin,

I understand your concerns about the principles of good UI design.

Maybe a different icon, meaning "animated (but no onion skins)", could be used?
A thought that comes to mind is a slightly smaller version of the 'frame' icon
which is used in the Animation docker, i.e. "This layer has frames so is
animated".

This issue is only visible in "low resource mode". Did you enable it (Config ->
Advanced -> Low resource usage mode)? Also, you need to clear the thumbnail
cache in ~/.thumbnails and restart gwenview after enabling. The bug still
exists in the current master.

Unfortunatelly, I can't: there is empty list and an error message appers on
top, that says "Failes to get folders list" (it means "from server", I guess).
And there is no way to manually add custom (say, "Inbox") value to the list...

For now, I just disabled server-side subscription, but I dislike that way of
"solving" the issue...

When adding a folder to workspace in VS Code file chooser dialog pops up. The
name of folder is readable but the file text is not that much. Though files
can't be added via that dialog so I guess those have disabled text color. But
its very dark color and doesn't look good with background.

Trying to copy example folder from android studio whose subfolder is dice

Hello, I am an Android Developer so I use Android Studio daily. One bug that is
haunting me for sometime is that copying a folder from Android Studio to
another folder in dolphin doesn't work.
What happens is that it pastes the contents of the folder with a folder whose
name is the path of the parent folder so somewhat like file://home/nishith.
Though with the text is seems confusing. I will post the screenshot to explain
better and hope those might help. I am posting a link to an open source android
project by Google so the developers can try to reproduce the bug themeselves.

I can reproduce bad channel value ranges, so I'm confirming. You do get valid
channel ranges if you open the color selector in the Brushes and Stuff toolbar
before you reproduce these steps. However, the channel value range stop making
sense again if you create another document with a different bit-depth and add a
palette color there, as it will use the channel ranges from the 8-bit document
again.

[plasmashell] [Bug 431837] New: Wallpaper removal deletes wallpapers from source location

2021-01-19 Thread David
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=431837

Bug ID: 431837
Summary: Wallpaper removal deletes wallpapers from source
location
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.19.5
  Platform: Debian testing
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Image Wallpaper
  Assignee: notm...@gmail.com
  Reporter: lassi_suri...@yahoo.ca
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Right-click on desktop and select "Configure Desktop" (or whatever
translated equivalent)

2. Select "+ Add Image..."

3. Locate your favourite desktop wallpaper, which has followed you from
computer to computer for 15 years, but for some stupid reason isn't backed up
anywhere.

4. Press the trashcan icon to remove the wallpaper again from the list.

OBSERVED RESULT

The wallpaper is permanently deleted from the source location; not even moved
to the trash.

EXPECTED RESULT

The action of "+ Add Image..." should have been reversed, removing the
wallpaper from the list but leaving the source file intact.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Debian Testing (Bullseye/Sid)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.19.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.74.0
Qt Version: 5.15.1

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The action of "Remove Wallpaper" is counter-intuitive and conflicts with the
action of "Add Image":
* "Add Image" takes an image from a source location and incorporates it
into the list of registered wallpapers.
* "Remove Image" deletes an image from the source location where the image
was found.

These two actions should be exact opposites: If adding an image registers an
image from a source location, then removing the image should unregister that
same image. It is beyond the mandate of the wallpaper manager to be a file
manager also.

I think this bug is is a result of various dockers forcing a certain minimum
size when starting Krita. This particular case happens because the Welcome
screen forces a particular minimum size at startup.

I would be interested in hearing if there been any progress in Qt regarding
this. My friend recently started experiencing this issue in such that his
palette docker and brush presets docker are forced to larger sizes on restart.
I also have this issue when attempting to make use of the detached canvas
feature, in such that my secondary window with all my dockers is supposed to be
tiny, but it resets to a significantly larger width on startup.

I've also experienced the issue of double-clicking items on the desktop not
working most of the time. Often I'd need to triple-click or just try again. My
display is 144 Hz. With it set to 60 Hz mode, the issue wouldn't crop up. I
tried running the test, and that seemed to work fine. When I changed that
setting Yaroslav mentioned to Basic (choices for me were Automatic, Basic,
Threaded) the problem went away immediately.

Hi,

Q : How much data are send to a remote server as digikam.org or something like
that to run faces management ?

Nothing...

All is done locally. this is the goal of this project. We don't use any
external resources to complete face detection or recognition using IA.

You want to be sure. It's simple... before to scan your collections for faces,
disconnect the computer from the network. You will see that all works as
well...

We are open source, not Google.

Hi Ahab,

My only concern with this is that the lightbulb isn't an animation indicator,
but instead indicates whether onion-skinning is on or off. If we add the
lightbulb for layers that don't allow onion-skinning, it might result in user
confusion if the button is unresponsive.

Hi problem.machine,

I cannot reproduce this bug on master. Could you try loading one of your

There have been changes made to how keyframe data is stored / transitions
between layers and would be interested to know if these issues described
persist.

Thanks and sorry for any inconvenience,

OBSERVED RESULT
Ao tentar mover um clipe na linha do tempo, ele é impedido pelos outros clipes,
como se fossem barreiras físicas. Ainda é possível tentar desviar para cima ou
para baixo entre as tracks, e assim conseguir mover para qualquer área do
tempo.

For help, type "help".

Reading symbols from /usr/lib/debug//usr/bin/elisa.debug...

Its just odd because the backtrace looks the same as before I compiled with

Can reproduce. In my case, turning off anti-aliasing doesn't seem to affect
*anything*. Seems related to Bug 431428, but I don't understand how fontconfig
files work well enough to triage any further.

I doubt this is related to Kirigami. It's more likely to be an issue with the
way the distro's fontconfig interacts with the settings in the Fonts KCM.
Moving there.

I can reproduce this. Note when flexible size is ON and the panels height isn't
20-32 or 56, icons disappear or rather they move to the 2nd row which isn't
visible. A quick workaround it to configure the icon-only manager to have ONLY
1 row.

[digikam] [Bug 431831] New: How much data gets sent to Digikam: RE face recognition

2021-01-19 Thread Samuel

recognition

Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal

 Component: Faces-Recognition
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: spamar...@hotmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

I use Digikam because I got tired of providing my data to the big privacy
thieves of the internet (Google & Facebook) and I'm wondering just how much of
my data is being sent to Digikam?

I've been using the face recognition in Digikam and it's been working well in
the last update, but how much data is being sent to improve the engine, or
collect any other data?

I have tried googling for this, searching all the "Faces-*" components of the
forum, and no luck! Would be nice if you could update the website with the
information, too.. I am sure many of us use this software as an alternative to
the privacy thieves of the internet! I think we all would want to know just how
much data gets sent back to Digikam servers, etc.

Starting kate with kstart5 gives some warning output:

`Omitting both --window and --windowclass arguments is not recommended`

As this automatically forks kate into it's own process instead of
running inside the terminal an alias would then do it fine.

alias kate='kstart5 kate`

Have tested with kstart5 kate myfile and that opens the file correctly.

[kdenlive] [Bug 422061] When rendering in any format, I sometimes get a long blank tail to the video

tarball of .kdenlive and .mlt files for various tests, see the comment

Sorry for not getting back sooner. The 20.8.2 appimage didn't fix the problem,
but I circumvented it. But, having been prompted, I've done some tests. In
each case, I rendered to a script, and then executed it. This produces the
same results as rendering to a file, as far as I can tell.

Test 1 was with my Gentoo installation kdenline-20.08.3. The files exhibit the
problem - the original clip was 28 minutes or so of Zoom session; I thought I'd
trimmed the clip to about 19 minutes, but the rendered file has 19 minutes of
Zoom followed by about 9 minutes of blackness!

Test 2 was a rerun, using the same project file, but with the latest appimage
20.12.1b. Same results.

Test 3 was to start with a new project, import the same Zoom clip, cut it at (I
was getting bored with rendering) to about 8 minutes. Render to script and
them execute the script. SUCCESS - an 8 minute or so rendered file.

Conclusion: either I'd done something wrong when I created the first project,
or something in 20.12.1b is handling it better, but only when starting with a
new project.

I've tarred the ,kdenlive and .mlt scripts up for you as an attachment - use
tar -xzf kdenliveTests.tar.xz to extract them.
'Tech club.*.20.8.3' is test 1;
'Tech club.*.20.12.1b' is test 2; and
'New20-12-1b.*' is test 3.

Hope that helps.

Even thou I have WSL 2, have valgrind properly (i guess) installed to my WSL,

Note: see also the FAQ in the source distribution.
It contains workarounds to several common problems.
In particular, if Valgrind aborted or crashed after
identifying problems in your program, there's a good chance
that fixing those problems will prevent Valgrind aborting or
crashing, especially if it happened in m_mallocfree.c.

If that doesn't help, please report this bug to: www.valgrind.org

In the bug report, send all the above text, the valgrind
version, and what OS and version you are using. Thanks.

[kdiff3] [Bug 431828] New: diff margin markers out of sync with diffs when window is taller than text

2021-01-19 Thread bugzilla_noreply

Bug ID: 431828
Summary: diff margin markers out of sync with diffs when window
is taller than text
   Product: kdiff3
   Version: 1.8.4
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: application
  Assignee: reeves...@gmail.com
  Reporter: yu...@avrasoft.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

The coloured markers in the right-hand column do not align with the diffs in
the text on my 3840x2160 screen. I've only ever used 1920x1200 before.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Run kdiff3 on 2 files of non-trivial length on a large-screen monitor.
2. Note that the coloured markers in the rightmost column do not line up with
the highlighted diff text.
3. Adjusting the screen height to make one marker line up compromises other
markers. I'm using the default 10-pt fonts and settings migrated from my old
1920x1200 setup.

OBSERVED RESULT

Markers don't line up with marked text.

EXPECTED RESULT

Markers line up with marked text.

[konsole] [Bug 431827] New: Konsole crashes if issuing CTLR+d if input is copied to other tabs

2021-01-19 Thread Michael M
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=431827

Bug ID: 431827
Summary: Konsole crashes if issuing CTLR+d if input is copied
to other tabs
   Product: konsole
   Version: 20.12.1
  Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: konsole-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: redea...@gmx.net
  Target Milestone: ---

Application: konsole (20.12.1)

Qt Version: 5.15.2
Frameworks Version: 5.78.0
Operating System: Linux 5.10.0-1-amd64 x86_64
Windowing system: X11
Distribution: Debian GNU/Linux bullseye/sid

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

- Open konsole
- Open four (works with two too, but less reliable) tabs
- Go back to first tab -> select 'Edit -> Copy Input To -> All Tabs in Current
window'
- Switch through all tabs again
- Go back to first tab -> type 'ls -l'
- Switch through all tabs again
- Go back to first tab -> press 'CTRL + d' to exit -> CRASH

It sounds pretty much like a duplicate from 405158, but the fixed lines are
present in the source debian unstable uses to compile currently
(konsole-20.12.1). So therefore creating a new issue.

The crash can be reproduced sometimes.

[kwin] [Bug 431707] setting new latency option to balance or other options even more in favor of latency causes frame drops in gaming on Wayland

2021-01-19 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=431707

The above qdbus information was without custom edid active, so only the default
60Hz is available as refresh rate. That's what I meant with that it also
happens with 60Hz (default edid), so independently from any OC or other kinds
of tampering.
My layman impression is that the issue is due to the latency option/kwin's
swapchain handling not leaving game output "untouched", as far as this is
possible on Wayland. But for whatever reason this works better on sway (but
btw. not on Gnome either, it stutters as well).
