[Breeze] [Bug 431904] Extra separator line

--- Comment #3 from Iyán Méndez Veiga ---
Okay, I see. Still, is this open to discussion before the release of final
Plasma 5.21? At lest, I think a different color should be used. In breeze dark,
that white separator is really distracting, and I still think it makes no sense
in most applications.

Can you let me know, in what file is this separator defined so I can play a bit
with it in Breeze dark and propose alternatives?

Thanks.

[dolphin] [Bug 431914] New: Dolphin crashes if you try to copy a file owned by root by retrying and then skipping

2021-01-21 Thread Antti Savolainen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=431914

Bug ID: 431914
Summary: Dolphin crashes if you try to copy a file owned by
root by retrying and then skipping
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 20.12.1
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: antti.s...@gmail.com
CC: kfm-de...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Demonstrative video: https://youtu.be/K3RpAiN4TGU
In the demonstrative video I am trying to copy two VM images that are owned by
root to another place. When the GUI tells you "could not read ", clicking
retry and then skip immediately after causes Dolphin to crash. Does not work
with just one file as the skip button does not appear. As a sidenote: if I keep
pressing "Retry", the border color the dialogue keeps getting darker and darker
and Dolphin keeps getting slower.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have two file owned by root that is read and write protected
2. Try to copy them to another location
3. Press Retry
4. Press Skip

OBSERVED RESULT
Dolphin crashes

EXPECTED RESULT
The UI should continue warning about the second file

Resolutions: 2560x1600, 1920x1080.
It is supposed to change fontsize accordingly to panel size (like the old X11

I can confirm the problem here on Linux using the QWebEngine. After a short
research, Google no longer allows a browser based on the Chromium Framework

2021-01-21 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=431913

Bug ID: 431913
Summary: Elided text in Brazillian Portuguese with new kickoff
replacement
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: Other
OS: Other
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Application Launcher (Kickoff)
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: guimarcalsi...@gmail.com
CC: mikel5...@gmail.com, plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

Created attachment 135048
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=135048=edit
All apps

SUMMARY

I'm testing the latest Plasma 5.21 in Neon Unstable, and I've noticed some
category labels are elided in the new menu. I think it should probably be wider
than it is now to accomodate longer text.

I've attached some screenshots.

(I'm reporting this here under Kickoff since it appears there's no option to
report bugs about the new menu. Is it still called Kickoff?)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set language to pt_BR
2. Open new menu

OBSERVED RESULT

Text like "Todos os Aplicativos" (All Applications) and "Usados Frequentemente"
(Used Frequently) are elided.

EXPECTED RESULT

There should be enough space to show all the text in any language.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: KDE neon Unstable Edition

[kdeconnect] [Bug 429323] very old "phantom" notifications are periodically re-sent even though they've been cleared

2021-01-21 Thread Adam Fontenot
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=429323

Just wanted to note that I did eventually figure out what was going on in more
detail. I downloaded an app that records your notifications, so you can go back
and look at old notifications even after they're swiped away. It turns out that
this app also showed phantom notifications: a *system* app called either
"Downloads" or "Download Manager" (I have both, don't remember which one it
was) was spamming me with notifications every few minutes.

The weird thing is that they were visible to both this app and KDE Connect, but
they never showed up in the notification tray on Android. (And they weren't
silenced / hidden somehow either - I saw them normally whenever I downloaded
something in Firefox for Android.)

So I was able to make this problem go away by completely clearing the storage
for this system application. It hasn't come back yet as far as I can tell.

This still might be considered a bug, especially if the issue is widespread. I
don't think it makes a lot of sense to send duplicate / repeated notifications
that don't show up in the taskbar.

The other / related issue (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411753) is
still a problem for me.

Finally got around to filing a bug with QT. I'm not familiar with QT from a
technical perspective, so I hope I didn't miss anything important.

Looking at the 5.21 beta release notes, it seems like this issue is not fixed.

Has anyone from VDG had a chance to look at this?

(Let me know if it's considered bad etiquette on this bug tracker to ping older

What do you want exactly?
* Just switching the keyboard layout?
* Switching the keyboard layout via terminal?
* Creating a custom keyboard layout?

If it's just switching the keyboard layout, that can be done by adding one in
System Settings > Input devices > Keyboard. Then there should be a new widget
on your tray + a keyboard shortcut to switch at will (Ctrl+Alt+K).

Been busy recently, but I just had a minute to look over the press release for
the 5.21 beta and noticed that more people are probably going to be
encountering this issue because KDE is switching to a light titlebar.

Have any VDG members have had the chance to look at this bug report? The status
hasn't changed for a few months now.

[kstars] [Bug 431911] New: kstars crashes with logitech QC3K webcam

2021-01-21 Thread James Barbot
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=431911

Bug ID: 431911
Summary: kstars crashes with logitech QC3K webcam
   Product: kstars
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: mutla...@ikarustech.com
  Reporter: james.barbot...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Application: kstars (3.5.1 Stable)

Qt Version: 5.12.8
Frameworks Version: 5.68.0
Operating System: Linux 5.4.0-62-generic x86_64
Windowing system: X11
Distribution: Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed: Kstars, -> Ekos -> INDI
control panel.
was trying to configure a Logitech QC4000 USB webcamera.
have tried the V4L2_ccd driver, it allows streaming, but not individual images
(unable to set manual exposure controls)
was trying the 'remote host' version of INDI_webcam and having issues getting
it to load.
was trying 'indi_usb_webcam' (I think that's how it is spelled)... and when I
select it, the whole thing crashes (kstars/ekos/indi)

so.. here's a bug report.
help?

I know that these are rather old webcams to be trying to use, but I have 4 of
these Logitech QC webcams with the high-sensitivity Sony CMOS chip in them (one
modified for long exposure, the Steve Chambers mods) and was using them about
10 years ago for imaging (with software that is not around anymore, K3CCDTools,
which refuses to run under anything newer than Windows XP and will not process
my new Canon camera's 16mp image sizes).
I am hoping to try using them now as a guide scope and am not having any luck
with getting anything other than a video stream out of them, which neither EKOS
or PHD2 will use for guiding.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

Hello Cristophe,
There have been 9 Plasma versions and 5 Qt versions since then.
I believe we can safely close this one since it consists of tests for a very
specific version. A new bug report may be warranted if current KWayland fails
on testXDGforeign.

Hello Marcos, any progress on this patch?
>From what I gather, under System Settings > Window management > Window behavior
> Window actions > Modifier key Meta + Right click, there's still no option for
this, so it wasn't merged yet.
Since the patch was mostly done at that time, you could work on it again and
create a WIP merge request over invent.kde.org for proper code review.

XP-340 should be supported by imagescan, since [1] returns imagescan for its
Linux scanner driver.

Perhaps you can try opening an issue on [2], and include the output from
commands `scanimage -L`, `sane-find-scanner`, `lsusb` and `utsushi list`.

The window position of the last closed window doesn't seem to get
honored/stored and the first window after the last closed window, always gets
created at the same position

aka

last window gets closed at position "A" and the first window afterwards always
gets opened at position "B" doesn't matter where the last window got closed

I can reproduce this, more or less.
While the audio runs fine, every so often a frame updates on the preview, so
it's indeed trying to reproduce something.
Selection becomes broken, but it's still possible to open/run files if you set
general clicking behavior to open files in one click.
If you resize the information pane containing the video, it creates graphical
glitches in Dolphin, especially if the folder contains various files.
Sometimes these graphical glitches may actually cause the preview to reproduce
at least part of the video properly (with the rest glitched/frozen).

Apologies if its not within my powers to re-open this but I thought it might be
better than making another report on a known bug.

The bug has been reduced, the effects of the teleporting seem to reset a bit
more often without the need to undo after the 4.4.2 update but it definitely
still happens quite a bit. When the teleporting or "sticking" happens, the undo
fix still seems to work and "reset" the transform box, but the sticking still
happens.

I've done a bit more testing and it seems to also occur with the other types of
transform too. Warp transform and perspective transform seem to have the same
issue as well.

It's definitely a manageable bug with the undo fix bit it would be great if it
was fixed too!

This is an intentional design aspect; we added a separator between the area
with toolbars + menubars (which we call the "tools area") and the rest of the
window content. Without this separator, it would look strange having the top
area be a different colour from the rest of the window.

KAlarm is designed to handle times in units of minutes, not seconds. It is not
designed to be accurate to within a second. So to avoid misleading users as to

Since it appears from what you say that it does what you want except for
displaying seconds, I'm marking this request as closed.

KAlarm already uses KHolidays as its source of holiday definitions. You can set
which holidays to use in KAlarm's Settings, in the Time & Date tab. However, if
your school holidays are not already installed on your system in a KHolidays

define your school holidays. I mentioned a link with information on how to
