https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=435372 Bug ID: 435372 Summary: [Regression] Unable to set fonts in color schemas Product: frameworks-ktexteditor Version: 5.80.0 Platform: Other OS: Other Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: safa1996alful...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY With the last update of Kate, I lost my custom-made schemas and am not able to choose the font in any new custom-made schemas I create This is really sad as I have different types of documents that I want to display each with another font (letters, code, printing, etc) and now I am not able to do that the way I used to do it. What I see now is a global font state, which sets the font on every document. [systemsettings] [Bug 341314] Plasma 5 somehow falls back to US keyboard after startup
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=341314 Thomas Murach changed: What|Removed |Added CC||asiasuppenes...@gmx.de --- Comment #5 from Thomas Murach --- Hi there, obviously I cannot comment on behalf of the original author, but I think I faced the same issue on my setup. Removing Ibus solved the problem for me. Thanks for the hint! On a side note, here's one workaround I used often. I mention it because at least I was surprised when I discovered it: After login, when the plasma workspace was already visible but all sorts of applications were still starting, I quickly changed to an arbitrary virtual console (Ctrl+Alt+F4 and the like) and back to the graphical session - et voila, my desired keyboard layout was loaded. It even worked when the gnome keyring dialogue was shown, which in my case got the keyboard and mouse focus exclusively. I always thought that the fact that the workaround did work was a sign of a race condition at startup. [kwin] [Bug 435223] Allowing disabling composition for the current session without login out
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=435223 --- Comment #9 from Alberto Salvia Novella --- By the way I have figured out an even better algorithm to do this. Now: - Entering or leaving full-screen instantly toggles composition. You can't even see the transition. - Composition isn't re-enabled if the full-screen window loses focus, till that window is closed. - Applications started as windowed don't automatically block composition when maximized, for example web-browsers. - No perceivable use of CPU or IO on the system monitor. The trick was simple: only re-test for full-screen if the last known full-screen window is no longer full-screen. Everything is done in memory for maximum performance, and only iterated on window focus change. Solving problems that no bunch of people were able to solve in the last 20 years, with a few lines, is the license of being awe. https://gitlab.com/es20490446e/kwin-autocomposer/-/blob/master/root/usr/share/kwin-autocomposer/kwin-autocomposer -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

On X11, it is not feasible to implement in KWin, which is why I implemented in KXMLGUI for KDE apps only. It's an imperfect solution, I know. :/ > So currently "everything opens on the top left corner" is the > expected behavior with "Minimal Overlapping" in a wayland session? Yes, "Minimal overlapping" positions the first window in the corner so that the next-opened window can be positioned as far as possible away from it, to make them overlap as little as possible (hence the name). If you don't like this, you might consider changing the positioning mode to "Centered" or something else. > Additionally, I have tested this in an x11 session, and position + size do > work correctly for KDE applications such as dolphin or ark. 3rd party > applications unfortunately do not, and I was not aware of this being > expected behavior either. I confirm the problem is still present but not in all places, the mysterious thing is that the same header appears incorrectly vertically aligned but after some navigation it appears correctly, and the cause is when I jump from a page with 3 columns to another with 2 columns.
