Thanks for providing the screenshots and the Android version information.
Unfortunately this is not something I've seen before. The filesystem plugin
hasn't seen any love in awhile and the guy who last worked on it isn't very
active any more. Hopefully someone will take ownership of it and can figure out
what is going on here.

Hi Simon,

My Anddroid version is 5.1.
I meant that after expanding the overflow menu, there is nothing to pick.
Also I don't see any three dot menu.

I attached screenshots if that helps.

Thank you

[krita] [Bug 435875] onionskin sometimes doesn't appear after scrolling the timeline

2021-04-20 Thread Eoin O'Neill
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=435875

I've confirmed the bug; This issue seems to be caused from a frame regeneration
optimization and is 100% reproducible when scrubbing between two frames that
have the exact same contents.

My thought process for fixing this is that we should do it in two stages:
1) Make an exception to regeneration when any layer on the stack is currently
in onion skin mode. This requires the least amount of work, but isn't the most
optimized. It would be easy to get this ready for 5.0 immediately.
2) When we rewrite the compositing of onion skins to fix the other compositing
problems, we will need to address this issue by changing when and how onion
skins are composited. This is already something we need to do in order to fix
color-space related issues.

For part 2, I will probably need to talk to dkazakov to get a better idea of
how we should structure the compositing of onion skins to avoid issues like
this in the future. Ideally, it would be done in a separate pass but still
respect the layer stack's general compositing order.

Hi Majid,

You did not mention what Android version you're using but I assume based on
your description that it's moderately recent. Have you tried expanding the
overflow menu in the top left of the system filebrowser to navigate to a
different directory? Additionally, you might want to open the three dots menu
on the top right and click "Show internal storage" if you want to use an
arbitrary folder on your virtual SD card.

Bug ID: 435986
Summary: Delete button in Filesystem Expose plugin
configuration is nearly invisible in the light theme
   Product: kdeconnect
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Android 10.x
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: android-application
  Assignee: albertv...@gmail.com
  Reporter: si...@ergotech.com

Screenshot showing the described button, made visible by holding the button
while taking the screenshot.

SUMMARY
When configuring storage locations for the filesystem expose plugin, the delete
button is nearly invisible in the light theme. Have attached a screenshot in
which I have highlighted the button by holding it while taking the screenshot.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Access Filesystem Expose plugin settings
2. Long-press on an entry with intent to delete

OBSERVED RESULT
The trash can icon is invisible. Originally I thought I had found a bug and
there was no way to delete.

EXPECTED RESULT
Trash can icon should be visible and obvious.

Git commit 872dd6b01eedc2bb587f4fdef502aa0ad96ec3d4 by Eoin O'Neill.
Committed on 21/04/2021 at 03:41.
Pushed by eoinoneill into branch 'master'.

CURRENT_DTD_VERSION constant addition changed harcoded values from "2" to "2.0"
which
lead to issues on KRA load since QString's `toInt()` doesn't seem to like
floating point
representation. The result of this was Krita not properly recognizing the
syntax
version of a file on load, leading to some loading problems.

[krdc] [Bug 435985] New: VNC via SSH tunnel always asks for password even though public key authentication is set-up

2021-04-20 Thread Jan Keith Darunday
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=435985

Bug ID: 435985
Summary: VNC via SSH tunnel always asks for password even
though public key authentication is set-up
   Product: krdc
   Version: 21.03.90
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: uwol...@kde.org
  Reporter: jkcdarun...@gmail.com
CC: aa...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
When connecting to a VNC server via SSH tunnel, KRDC always asks for password
authentication (PW auth is already discouraged and disabled by default in most
distros) even though I'm using public key authentication.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create connection to an SSH server that has a running VNC server by enabling
SSH tunneling
2. Connect

OBSERVED RESULT
* A password popup appears
* Pressing okay with any password throws: "Error authenticating with password:
Access denied for 'password'. Authentication that can continue: publickey"
* Pressing cancel cancels the connection

EXPECTED RESULT
It should not ask for a password and continue if my publickey is authorized to
connect.

SUMMARY

Since Plasma 5.21 I can no longer move windows freely around my three monitor
setup.

I have three monitors, the smaller is 1280x1024, the larger 1920x1080.
Windows can't be moved above the upper usable margin of the smaller screen
(0+60) (I use a top panel) as they get sticky to the margins of the smaller
screen's vertical resolution.

I made a screen recording:

[plasma-nm] [Bug 435981] New: VPN connections are mixed with unregistered WIFI connections - VPN connection changes its position in the list

2021-04-20 Thread jerrys
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=435981

Bug ID: 435981
Summary: VPN connections are mixed with unregistered WIFI
connections - VPN connection changes its position in
the list
   Product: plasma-nm
   Version: 5.21.4
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: applet
  Assignee: jgrul...@redhat.com
  Reporter: j...@ganomi.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
VPN connections are mixed with unregistered WIFI networks. When I want to
connect to a VPN connection, I often miss-click on unregistered WIFI
connection, because when I open the applet, WIFI starts scanning and adds new
unregistered connections to the list on top of my registered VPN connections.
This can happen in a split of a second and results in miss-clicks.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add VPN networks to your network connections.
2. Ensure that there are more unregistered WIFI connections in your area.
3. To initiate VPN, click on network applet in System Tray
4. When network applet opens, you might see that unregistered WIFIs and VPN
connections starts to reshuffle in the list of connections (depends on the WIFI
SSID naming)
5. If you want to connect to your VPN connection and reshuffling starts at the
same time, you might accidentally click on unregistered WIFI rather than the
VPN connection, because the VPN connection changes its position in the list.

OBSERVED RESULT
VPNs and unregistered WIFI connections are mixed together which can result in
miss-clicks when WIFI connections are being updated.

EXPECTED RESULT
VPN connections should have its own section to avoid reshuffling when WIFI
networks are updated.

Looks like Qt issue, but the biggest question to me is how it works for

2021-04-20 Thread Michał Dybczak

Usually global menus work well for me. The only exceptions are Spotify, Steam
and some other apps that don't have menus, but those are normal. Other apps
have fully functional global menus (qt, gtk, libre, firefox, thunderbird).

And then there are wxgtk3 apps where it doesn't work. Maybe something special
is needed for this to run? A package environmental variable?

Does a global menu on audacity works for you?

SUMMARY
While implementing a HideWindow function in SDL it was discovered that a
deadlock will occur in vkAcquireNextImageKHR after destroying an xdg_toplevel
object while using FIFO presentation. Using a different presentation mode or
using OpenGL instead resolves the issue.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Run the attached test program via run.sh
2. Press the space bar once the window is visible
3. A window should appear after 3 seconds have passed

OBSERVED RESULT
Window never reappears after hiding it

EXPECTED RESULT
Window should reappear after 3 seconds

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux: Fedora 34
KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.80.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

[digikam] [Bug 435973] New: Feathre Request: Make Tag (and perhaps other) filters operate to either Boolean AND or OR

2021-04-20 Thread Tom P
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=435973

Bug ID: 435973
Summary: Feathre Request: Make Tag (and perhaps other) filters
operate to either Boolean AND or OR
   Product: digikam
   Version: 7.2.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Other
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Searches
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: trpar...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Tags filter in the right hand column only operates in Boolean OR logic so that
if multiple tags are selected the result is the union of images containing each
flag. It would be helpful if AND logic could also be selected to allow
narrowing of results. For example if I select tags "Lisa" and Skiing", I would
hope to be able to see only images of Lisa skiing (maybe 6 in this case) rather
all of Lisa and all of Skiing (maybe 1000). I understand this can be
accomplished via the Search tool on the left margin, however doing so bypasses
the convenience of seeing/selecting from the list of existing tags and
apparently prevents use of the other source selection tools in the left
toolbar.

Thanks,
Tom Parks

Sorry about taking so long to get to this, I was able to test and I had the
same result, the output of MS DebugView is attached. I moved the folder with
the large TIFFs back into my main DK album, since the last activity I was doing
with DK was facial recognition, it started up where I left off. After
starting, I let DK sit for about 20 minutes and there were no issues. I then
navigated to the album tab (event 1545) and about a minute later, it crashed.

[kwin] [Bug 435972] New: Plastik window decorations render issues after suspend/resume

2021-04-20 Thread Miguel De Anda
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=435972

Bug ID: 435972
Summary: Plastik window decorations render issues after
suspend/resume
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.21.4
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: decorations
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: mig...@thedeanda.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
My workstation is set to suspend after 1hr and it does so about 20 times a week
and roughly 2-5 of the resumes result in window decoration issues. I thought it
was related to closed source nvidia drivers but I discovered it _only_ happens
with Plastik and not with Breeze window decorations.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a few different app windows
2. Let computer suspend
3. Resume

OBSERVED RESULT
Window decorations may not render corrently, sometimes a black bar, other times
stretched/blurry title text and most times the min/max/close buttons don't
render or end up with odd click areas make them harder to use.

EXPECTED RESULT
Window decorations should look the same as prior to suspending.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.81.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2
Kernel Version: 5.11.15-arch1-2
OS Type: 64-bit
Graphics Platform: X11
Processors: 6 × AMD FX(tm)-6100 Six-Core Processor
Memory: 23.5 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950/PCIe/SSE2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I had the same issue on Ubuntu about 6 months ago but have since switched to
Archlinux with same results. I discovered that Breeze was ok only while on
Arch.

[Discover] [Bug 435971] New: Apply offline updates during shutdown process

2021-04-20 Thread Tobias G.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=435971

Bug ID: 435971
Summary: Apply offline updates during shutdown process
   Product: Discover
   Version: 5.21.4
  Platform: Other
OS: Other
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Updates (unattended)
  Assignee: lei...@leinir.dk
  Reporter: tobi.goerg...@gmail.com
CC: aleix...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Offline updates should be installed during the shutdown-process instead of
during the boot.
That way
a) users don't have to wait when they need to use the system until updates are
installed (which can take quite long on old systems), but instead, they would
be installed calmly when the system isn't needed anyway.
b) the system doesn't have to be booted twice: to install updates now, the
system has to be rebooted once to install the updates and then again for some
reason.
Installing the updates during the shutdown-process would solve that
c) additionally to b) users with encrypted systems profit, as they don't have
to enter the password twice in order to boot the device.

I think especially a) is a huge issue right now (at least for me and other
users in forums as well), as I don't want be in a situation where I'm in a
hurry and want to quickly start my system, but just find me in the installing
updates screen and having to wait AND having to see my system reboot AGAIN
afterwards. (I already was in that situation, can't recommend)
That will also be the reason why I'll deactivate offline updates in Plasma
5.22, even though it may sacrifice system stability. If it was possible to
apply updates during the shutdown process, I'd keep it activated.

Is there a reason why it's not done yet?
I mean, after installing the update during the boot process, the system has to
be shut down and rebooted again ANYWAY, so stability wise doesn't seem to be a
disadvantage.

It could be added as option, so the user could choose whether he wants updates
installed during boot or during shutdown, but I can't believe users would
choose during boot, except they want to reboot their system to boot another one
(which would also be one of two cases I can think of currently where the boot
installation method would be beneficial, the other situation would be e. G. On
a notebook with low battery)

But to solve that, when updates are pending, two more shutdown options could be
shown in the power menu like Windows does, with "install updates and shutdown"
and "install updates and reboot" next to normal shutdown and reboot, which
would then not install the updates (a install updates and reboot option should
be added as users might want to reboot just to install the updates or because
they have the time to wait and then it's useful to be able to directly install
them)
That way, the user can choose if he wants his updates to be installed with the
next shutdown or maybe the next time.

With the current model, this addition wouldn't really solve the issues stated
above, as I don't always know if I might need the system instantly the next
time I boot it, but when I turn my PC off or reboot it, I know if I need
quickly afterwards or not.

I think making this change, users would stop complaining about a "Windows-like"
behavior and would really prefer this method as it brings system stability
benefits.

What are your thoughts?
Have I missed something important here?

PS: my mom would prefer this shutdown-installation-procedure as well, if that's
worth something. ;)

I see, that helps. Probably what happens is that the return key gets forwarded
to the view after the dialog closes, and there' a brief second in which the
folder is still visible, so Dolphin tries to enter it, but this fails because a
micro-second after that, it gets deleted.

That said, I cannot reproduce the issue with the current git master version.
Could you please try again with the version of Dolphin in Kubuntu 21.04, which
is due to be released in a few days?

Git commit ce0c3fead0ec1aa5d8bd6a627bb61db803e83974 by Nate Graham.
Committed on 20/04/2021 at 18:57.
Pushed by ngraham into branch 'master'.

[kcms/baloo] Allow monitoring, suspending, and resuming indexing

The KCM now allows you to monitor indexing status and pause and resume
it. Most of this code is lifted straight from the file indexing monitor
InfoCenter KCM, which becomes largely redundant with this, and we could
consider removing it.
