https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=435255 Dmitry Kazakov changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |WAITINGFORINFO Status|ASSIGNED|NEEDSINFO --- Comment #7 from Dmitry Kazakov --- Hi, acc4commissions! To have instant preview for the transform tool you need to have two conditions satisfied: 1) The canvas should be in OpenGL mode 2) Either zoom level should be lower than 50% or the transformed piece should be bigger than 2000px in size. If any of these conditions is false, then Krita does full stack recalculation on any change to the transformation. That is kind of expected behavior :( If your image satisfies these conditions, but is still slow, please attach a video, so I could dig a bit deeper :) I'll mark the bug as "needsinfo" for now. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397463 Luke Midworth changed: What|Removed |Added CC||lukemidwo...@gmail.com --- Comment #30 from Luke Midworth --- Hi, just chiming in to say I am a student writing my thesis this year, and Okular (combined with Zotero and Zotfile) has been a lifesaver for reading and annotating sources. The only thing I miss from using other PDF software is the ability to save a current 'session' (set of open tabs/PDFs) and then be able to restore it after e.g. the reboot required when updating my laptop. I am currently using a very inelegant solution based around running `ls -l /proc/$(ps -C okular -o pid= | sed -e 's/\s//g')/fd | grep '.pdf'` while Okular is open and then re-opening the resulting file list after the reboot, but a true session management function would be much easier and extremely helpful in keeping my sources organised. [konsole] [Bug 430036] konsole repeatedly losing no-toolbar setting
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=430036 --- Comment #5 from Duncan <1i5t5.dun...@cox.net> --- (In reply to nick from comment #4) ... ... So no for-sure confirmation on the closing one and immediately opening a new one race, but dozens of konsoles and no definite negative-confirmation either, so it's possible. FWIW, while I may well have high single-digits or even plausibly in the teens of konsoles open it'd be very rare to have "dozens" open, to the point I'm not sure I /ever/ have. But of about three use-cases here, the one definitely closes/open konsoles fast enough that one closing could still be writing the config while another opens, thus producing that race I believe to be the trigger here. What we know: * The no-toolbars config option is is honored at least some of the time, so it's written and read back correctly, even if it appears to be inconsistently. * Using a wrapper script that rewrites the konsolerc file from backup before launch appears to be a solid workaround -- I've *never* seen the problem since I instituted the wrapper -- so provided konsole can read the config file, it does seem to do so and the config appears to be correctly loaded from the file (as long as it can be read). * SOMETHING is therefore inconsistently either rewriting the config, OR is preventing reading the config correctly at startup. Of course my *theory* is that it's the latter, due to the file being locked for writing by an unloading instance at the same time a newly launching instance attempts to read it, thus creating a race such that the new instance can't read the config and defaults to showing the toolbar. And that both of us use enough konsoles that it's plausible one is starting while another is quitting (definitely the case here, plausibly the case for you) would seem to support the theory. A plausible second step that just occurred to me now: While one would hope that (in this era of limited-write ssds) konsole doesn't needlessly rewrite its config /every/ time it loads, the logic could very well be that it treats *any* error reading the config file as if the file doesn't exist, implying it's a first-run, and thus writes out its default config as what it believes to be the not-yet-existing file, instead of waiting for a config change to write it out, as would normally be the case. That would explain why when it toggles back to show-toolbar, it's then consistent on every load until the toolbar is manually turned off again. While I'm not particularly comfortable reading code (and definitely not writing it, tho I I'm getting a bit more comfortable hack-patching existing code), I should take a look and see if I can figure out what it's actually doing. If it turns out it's either unconditionally rewriting the config at every load, or it's treating /any/ error reading the config as a fresh config and writing out the default config... BTW, I believe you can bug-status confirm the bug if you feel comfortable doing so. (I'd feel weird confirming my own bug, but now that you're seeing it too I believe it's confirmable.) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[Breeze] [Bug 437436] New: some applications (e.g. Kate) ignore the system wide color theme
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=437436 Bug ID: 437436 Summary: some applications (e.g. Kate) ignore the system wide color theme Product: Breeze Version: 5.21.5 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: QStyle Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: adam.m.fontenot+...@gmail.com CC: noaha...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 138631 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=138631&action=edit Kate appearance with global Breeze theme enabled In some applications (the only one I can remember at the moment is Kate), no matter what is selected in system settings, a specific variant of the Breeze theme will always be used. Specifically, the application will use the dark title bar, even though recent KDE changes made a light titlebar the default. I'm including two screenshots to illustrate the problem, one with the Breeze global theme set, one with the Breeze Dark global theme set. Kate was closed before each theme change. You'll notice that Kate appears basically the same in each case, with the only noticeable change being to the menu bar. The system settings window in the background indicates the correct colors for the chosen theme. This one should be trivial to reproduce (where it occurs): just set the system colors theme to anything except Breeze, and see if Kate uses the chosen colors. The bug is pretty annoying because it makes Kate more-or-less unusable on my system. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux: Arch Linux x86_64 5.12.2-arch1-1 KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.82.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Both screenshots are tagged with an ICC profile that should enable you to see the colors as they actually appear on my desktop when the image in viewed in a color managed viewer on a calibrated screen. They will likely appear unexpectedly saturated. This is because of a different bug, which breaks KDE's color schemes on my desktop: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427667 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Using Clip Studio Paint, if I need to update the 3D model, I just switch to the model layer, change, then switch back to painting. Fast and simple. [konsole] [Bug 430036] konsole repeatedly losing no-toolbar setting
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=430036 --- Comment #4 from n...@leippe.com --- I haven't paid close attention to my use cases, but for sure this happens (just tested again): 1 - I have dozens of konsoles open. 2 - I pick one and remove the toolbars and hide the main menu 3 - Ctrl-Shift-n to open a new konsole window 4 - the new window is fine. 5 - wait a while 6 - Ctrl-Shift-n from the first konsole again, now the new window has the toolbars again. 7 - remove them in the new window 8 - Ctrl-Shift-n from the first konsole again and now the new window also doesn't have the toolbars again. That first one is peristently open the whole time. Among my dozens of other konsole windows every time I use one I remove the toolbars. I added a mockup in an attachment, it doesn't seem so bad to me. I don't mind the empty area so much. It would be fine if KCMs needed to be handled different when displayed outside the System Settings application, I think. An alternative is suggested by how the "Users" pane is currently handled. Here the header text doesn't just repeat "Users", it instead says something about the purpose of the KCM: "Manage Users". I don't know if it would be possible to do that for all of them, but maybe it's worth looking into. It's still possible to get more than three copies of a description on the screen at once, by the way. In fact it's now possible to get *five*. If you click "Shortcuts", you'll get it once in the first pane (where you selected it), once in the first header (to show that it's selected), once in the second pane (because the normal shortcuts are separated from custom shortcuts), once in the second header (to show that it's selected), and once in the window title. It's bad looking, or at least confusing, IMO. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

To implement this into Krita would be a tremendous task. A simpler way for Krita would be to make the canvas only program transparent. That way, I could place Krita over another 3D program, then draw on Krita, tracing over the 3D modeling program. This way, I can go back and forth to the 3D program, make adjustments fast. Blender and MB-LAB would be a candidate for human modeling. I'm going to see if I can implement using a Python script, but some sort of Krita settings 'Set Canvas Program Transparent' would be ideal. (I also encountered about a dozen other bugs in latte-dock, it's pretty flaky at the moment.) My eventual workaround for this issue was actually to screenshot my desktop with the panel shadow enabled, then use GIMP to edit the shadow into the wallpaper image itself, making it a permanent part of my wallpaper. Then I just use Plasma themes to disable shadows from desktop widgets. It's a dirty solution, but it's working well enough. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

The bad news is of course the hassle of the workaround, including remembering to manually update the backup on deliberate config change. Question: Does your use-case involve the rapid konsole closing and re-launching of my use-case that I suspect is triggering the race I believe to be the root of the problem? If so that's further confirmation of that theory. If not, the problem is worse than I suspected. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kdenlive] [Bug 436895] Rotoscoping not working right
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=436895 Benjamin Gaidioz changed: What|Removed |Added CC||bgaid...@gmail.com --- Comment #1 from Benjamin Gaidioz --- Hello, A couple of days ago I've stumbled on a similar problem with 21.04.0 too. I could track my problem to a the detail I describe below. Hope this helps. Literally I was implementing the popular laser saber effect. Every once in a while I would play the video to see how it looked. At some point, the interpolation of the masking behaved as if only keyframes N and N+100 had been entered: totally ignoring in between ones, although the spline path was correct. I opened the .kdenlive XML project file see if I could recover something: In the faulty rotoscoping section, I noticed the JSON object representing the multiple keyframes of the spline had keys ordered _alphabetically_ (keyframes "100" to "150" would show right after "10" and before "11") and not numerically. By manually reordering these keys in numeric order, the masking got to follow the spline again. I'm still editing the video and periodically I go fix the file, it still happens, my fix must be not totally perfect. Regardless if this is the exact root cause of the buggy rendering, what triggered this state? No idea so far. I haven't tried to reproduce this separately, but I have kept a copy of the wrong file. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[krita] [Bug 437429] New: Broken color display in the Palette docker with an active OCIO config
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=437429 Bug ID: 437429 Summary: Broken color display in the Palette docker with an active OCIO config Product: krita Version: nightly build (please specify the git hash!) Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Color models Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: manuel.snudl.zeid...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 138626 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=138626&action=edit HDR palette SUMMARY I'm noticing that the display of color spots, including floating-point HDR colors, in the Palette docker look very different in the Krita 5 prealpha AppImage compared to Krita 4.4.3, if 1. the document is not in linear sRGB, and 2. a working OCIO config is active in the LUT management docker. I make sure that the color space of the document and the input space in the OCIO config match exactly. In Krita 4.4.3 the palette colors look correct and consistent with every color space that I can find a match for, but Krita 5 only displays them right if the document and OCIO input are (linear gamma) sRGB. The palette color in this case also doesn't match the Specific Color Selector, nor the resulting color on canvas. I always start Krita with LC_ALL=C to avoid the number formatting issue in the OCIO LUTs. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Create or open a document in 16- or 32-bit floating-point, linear sRGB 2. Add an OCIO config like Filmic or ACES in the LUT docker and set the input and display settings correctly 3. Use colors picked from a palette in the Palette docker on canvas and compare their look 4. Convert the document color space to a wide gamut like ACEScg, update the OCIO input space to match it, and compare again OBSERVED RESULT Color spots are not representative of the resulting color on canvas. Even super bright color spots (at float value 16.29 in any channel) appear dimmed in terms of display brightness. EXPECTED RESULT Color spots should match the look on canvas and in the Specific Color Selector like is the case in Krita 4.4.3. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Tested in the 5.0.0-prealpha (git 3d23ca9) AppImage. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION If the OCIO configs I tested with are needed: Filmic - https://github.com/sobotka/filmic-blender ACES - https://github.com/sobotka/ACES-1.2-Displays-Formatted The ACES download is very large because it includes a ton of baked LUTs and ICC profiles. ACES has a lot of input colorspaces and display output options if needed, including HDR10 / HLG display targets. I'll attach the HDR palette I used, which was created by Wolthera, if I'm not mistaken. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
