[krita] [Bug 439990] Updating filters make them not working anymore

2021-08-04 Thread Patrice

(In reply to Alvin Wong from comment #3)

On Krita 5
Limiting/restraining the end user is NOT a solution.

Giving back the end user the ability to update/upgrade or chose its G'MIC
integration like in any Krita 4.x.x appimage or whatever type, is the certainly
the way to go >
https://krita-artists.org/uploads/default/original/3X/8/f/8f4c2d0a82d7d7f90f94413e6f84f6f13fe8aa0f.png

In Krita 5 they just removed this possibility in the preferences >
https://krita-artists.org/uploads/default/original/3X/c/3/c320b2d2c6bee8e9ba6d1a2f70e7c6391426de25.png
thus we are stuck with a deprecated G'MIC

That's a great feature, however it only takes you to browser tabs and provides
no options in case multiple apps are playing media. The icon clicking feature
could be more useful though.

Your configuration should fit, including your database path, if it is located
under /var. The AppImage method doesn't work at the moment, I just noticed
while testing an old DB that "SELECT VERSION();" contrary to the publications
on the web actually returns the current server version and not the database
version. That has to be fixed first. So you have to perform the manual method
after importing a backup.

Copy shape region to Deleted

Currently, the shape region is not copied to the Deleted. If either
SurfaceItemX11 or SurfaceItemXwayland needs to build quads for a shaped
window, it won't be able to do so properly because the corresponding
x11 window is long time gone.

If the shape region changes before the window is unmapped, you may still
see visual artifacts. Unfortunately, the only way to fix that bug is to
switch to wayland.

2021-08-04 Thread Mathias Homann
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=440623

Bug ID: 440623
Summary: Scheduled "do not disturb" mode doesn't enable sounds
when coming out of "do not disturb"
   Product: frameworks-knotifications
   Version: 5.84.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdelibs-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: mathias.hom...@opensuse.org
CC: kdelibs-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

I like the option of disabling notifications until a fixed time ("Do not
disturb until monday morning"). But when I use it and the time for turning
notifications back on has been reached, sounds are not turned back on.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Disable notifications for some period of time
2. Wait
3. Trigger some notification and notice that there is no sound with the
notification. (The easiest trigger is to hover the mousewheel over the kmix
icon in one's tray and use the mouse wheel to change the volume)

OBSERVED RESULT
The notifications show on screen but without a sound

EXPECTED RESULT
I would expect the sound to be turned back on as well as the popups.

Try pinging your device, if it's not reachable, check your firewall. If it is

demonstration

This is right after a reboot.

Right click on widget > Refresh view - will not change the icons.

Right click on icon > Properties > OK - used to refresh it, now I need to do
what is in this video. After every reboot it will revert back to the regular
icon at the start of the video.

The "notes" icon is a symlink to a directory in the home folder so it is
definitely mounted. There is a chance the "anet_a8" link was not if that helps.

[krita] [Bug 440615] "Manage Resources" dialog doesn't allow you to add a new tag if it has been previously deleted.

2021-08-04 Thread Emmet O'Neill
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=440615

Update: So after a bit more testing, I am able to add completely new tags to
the selected resource. What I'm not able to do is re-add a tag that's been
previously deleted.

I've updated the title to better reflect the bug, and here's updated steps:

1. Open the `Manage Resources` window.
2. Click on a brush preset (for example, hard eraser).
3. Click on the plus button to add a tag.
4. Type a tag name that's not already listed. I chose "Penguin"!
5. Exit out of the `Manage Resources` window.

6. Open the brush presets resource chooser.
7. Select the tag that you just created from the combobox at the top. (For me
that's "Penguin" still.)
8. Open the "Tag" menu and select "Delete this tag."
9. Exit out of the brush preset resource chooser.

10. Finally, repeat steps 1-4, using the same tag name that you've just
deleted. ("Penguin", over here.)

OBSERVED:

After deleting the "Penguin" tag in the resource chooser, I'm unable to add it
again as a new tag in the resource manager.

EXPECTED:

I'd expect to be able to add the same tag again as if it had never existed in
the first place.

[plasmashell] [Bug 440617] New: Copy/Paste will randomly not work

2021-08-04 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=440617

Bug ID: 440617
Summary: Copy/Paste will randomly not work
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.22.4
  Platform: unspecified
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Clipboard
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: and_...@hotmail.com
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
Some variations of this bug seem to have been reported some years ago. In KDE,
copy paste seems to not work occasionally. This is happening in X, unlike some
previous bug reports which indicated the bug was only on Wayland.

Sometimes, the copy to clipboard function will simply not work (either my mouse
clicking or keyboard Ctr+C). This behaviour seems to be random and there seems
to be no correlation between GTK or Qt apps. Repeating the copy to clipboard
some times will eventually copy the intended element but this is very annoying.
If anything, I noticed this happens more between different programs rather than
between the same program, but I might be wrong.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Due to the randomness of this bug, its not exactly clear how to reproduce.
1. Copy an element to clipboard
2. Paste somewhere else

OBSERVED RESULT
Any item should be copied after the first copy has been issued, either by mouse
or keyboard.

EXPECTED RESULT
Sometimes, pasting will either pasting the previously copied element or nothing
at all, if no previous element was present on the clipboard, indicating that
the copy didn't work.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux 5.13.6-arch1-1
KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.84.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Not much I can add, this is a really random and difficult to reproduce bug. I
asked in Reddit and some people report the same. Reddit link:
https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/oxww24/kde_copy_paste_still_broken/

Should be fixed in Plasma 5.23 with the recent code rewrite. If not, then it's
an NVIDIA driver bug, and you should report it to the NVIDIA folks, either by
sending an email to linux-b...@nvidia.com or making a post at
https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/c/gpu-unix-graphics/linux/. It would be
helpful to the NVIDIA developers if you could run nvidia-bug-report.sh and

modal dialog windows disable their parent, and Plasma is listed as the parent.

How long between "initial bits of QML-based present windows effect" and "final
bits that will allow it to be merged"? My prediction: INFINITY. This project
will be abandoned before the next fashionable technology of the day arrives to
supplant QML, at which point it will be restarted with the new technology, and
this will continue long after we all return to the ecosystem.

COMMENT OUT THE OFFENDING LINE OF C++ CODE THAT DIMS THE WINDOWS. OR SET THE
END VALUE OF THE OPACITY ANIMATION OF THE DIMMING OVERLAY TO 0 JUST LIKE THE
START VALUE. OR WHATEVER, DEPENDING ON HOW IT IS CURRENTLY IMPLEMENTED AND
WHICH NECESSARY CHANGE WILL BE TRULY MINIMAL. JUST STOP DIMMING THOSE WINDOWS.
STOP. DO STRICTLY LESS THAT YOU CURRENTLY DO. DON'T START NEW A NEW PROJECT FOR
THIS. DON'T DO ANYTHING NEW. JUST STOP DOING SOMETHING OLD AND TIRED AND
UNIVERSALLY VISCERALLY HATED. JUST STOP.

I did, but the patch was rejected by more than one senior KDE dev. I was told
to submit a patch to Qt instead, but the process of setting up a complete
environment for Qt and KDE development requires so much time that I just
haven't gotten close to submitting a Qt patch. On top of that, we won't even be
able to use the separator color role until Plasma uses Qt 6, if I do the
upstream patch. Maybe I could try to submit a patch to KColorScheme again now
that it's too late for Qt 5.
