[okular] [Bug 128434] Preview tooltip for hyperlinks to other pages
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=128434 Philip changed: What|Removed |Added CC||philip1...@protonmail.ch --- Comment #6 from Philip --- I recently switched from GNOME to KDE. While I now prefer the latter because of its ability to be configured to a greater extent, I was quite surprised to find out that Okular does not have a PDF link preview tooltip/popover like GNOME's Evince. As mentioned already by Nicolas, a link preview is very convenient to see an entry in the bibliography without navigating back and forth or having multiple windows open. And it also would enable user to have a quick glance at an equation or figure that appears on a different page. I find Evince's link preview well done. If implemented in Okular, perhaps the preview popover's size could be made configurable. That's how it knows something is an app and not some random system process. When you run an app's binary directly (i.e you run `kate` inside a terminal window), it's up to you to make sure that happens, since you're running the app by hand. However when running an app via a global shortcut, this should be happening. I can reproduce the issue. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441599 vanyossi changed: What|Removed |Added Ever confirmed|0 |1 Status|REPORTED|CONFIRMED CC||ghe...@gmail.com --- Comment #1 from vanyossi --- I can confirm this happens on macOS moving/dragging krita window from a non retina to a retina display (Hi-DPi). however this also happens with 4.4.7 The openGL canvas must be created with the krita window on the non HiDPI display, if it isnt the bug does not happen. But it can be triggered, by entering full screen on the low dpi display before moving the window to the HiDPI display The effect on macOS is that only 1/4 of the canvas is visible. I remember seeing something similiar after emmet hiDPI patches on openGL. but then he fixed it, so I suppose the patch did not take into account switching screens. SUMMARY If a rename action results in a file name that already exists or is doubled it will result in file loss or no rename on that file. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. File tab: add more than 1 file to the file list 2. Destination tab: leave unchanged or check "overwrite" 3. File name tab: Suffix, set file name to any word, in file name drop down select "Custom name" (this is for demonstration purpose only, in real live it makes no sense of cause. You could also take some a photo, duplicate it, edit one and set the advanced rename pattern to [exifExif.Photo.DateTimeOriginal]) 4. Click done OBSERVED RESULT The 1st file is renamed like the pattern was, the next ones are left unchanged. If "overwrite" was selected the other files are gone. EXPECTED RESULT Show warning message and rename conflicting files automatically with e.g (2), (3) ... In any case, never should files get lost. Below is the error report and as I don't understand much about this, please help me: In the error reports of the linux system, the following message appears: "Program terminated with signal SIGBUS, Bus error." [plasma-systemmonitor] [Bug 441628] New: KDE Plasma behaves differently when launching an application.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441628 Bug ID: 441628 Summary: KDE Plasma behaves differently when launching an application. Product: plasma-systemmonitor Version: 5.22.4 Platform: Neon Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: ksysguard-b...@kde.org Reporter: hasannisa...@gmail.com CC: ahiems...@heimr.nl, plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY In KDE Plasma, when you run an application (eg: Dolphin) with a shortcut (Meta+E), it is not listed in "System Monitor" - "Overview" - "Application". But the same application: If you open it in Panel, Menu or ".desktop" file on Desktop, it will be listed under "System Monitor" - "Overview" - "Application". This applies to Autostart. So if you set an application to start automatically when KDE Plasma is started, the application you want to start automatically is not listed under "System Monitor" - "Overview" - "Application". I think this situation is not normal. A little note: This also applies when you start with "Konsole". OBSERVED RESULT Applications are not listed in System Monitor if they are launched via shortcut (eg: Meta+E) or command line. In my mental model/workflow, when I minimize a window, I want it to effectively disappear until I want to see it again by explicitly un-minimizing it. Quitting and restarting it in this case is not an adequate substitute due to app launch times being non-instant and transient state rarely if ever being perfectly saved. So it would be nice if the Overview effect could gain an option to exclude minimized windows. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[systemsettings] [Bug 441083] Poor a11y in Virtual Desktops KCM
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441083 --- Comment #2 from Alexander Potashev --- Well, what you're saying in comment #1 is true, however I think it would be much more usable with the keyboard shortcuts. >From my perspective, the biggest pain when editing desktop names is, it requires a lot of clicking, especially on smaller buttons like the "edit" icon, remember https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fitts%27s_law . So to me, not being a professional StarCraft 2 player, it seems like the faster and easiest way to edit a desktop's name would be to 1. Click on a line (fast because I don't really need to aim with the mouse on the X-axis) 2. Press F2 3. Use keyboard to edit the name 4. Press Enter. UPD: I've just discovered I can double-click on a line to start editing. [krdc] [Bug 441497] Scaling feature does not scale anything
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441497 --- Comment #12 from Thiago Macieira --- (In reply to Rafal Lalik from comment #11) > The presence of slider should be irrelevant for the old behaviour. Just a > button Scale which toggles between 1:1 and fits-to-window view. The bug > which is fixed already (new Merge Request) fixes that. You do not need > slider to have the old behaviour. > > But again, due to bug, you need sldier to change the scaling value. After > the bug is fixed, you do not need sldier again. Just forget about it then. It's still a UX issue if you have a button controlling the slider. When the button is not pressed, the slider is greyed out. If you try to drag it, you drag the entire window. And if the slider is left in fully zoomed out position, the scale button does nothing. Please reconsider and merge the two into one control only. I recommend getting the zoom control from Okular, so one can select no scaling, 200% scaling, fit to width, etc. Not a slider at all. > Scale button is also toolbar only. No UX problem here. It's in the menu: Session > Scale Remote Screen to Fit Window Size. At a minimum, you must change this menu text, because "Fit Window Size" is not correct any more, if the actual scaling factor is controlled by the slider. As above, I recommend a simple Zoom option. > > What? The left most position zooms in and the right most leaves no zoom? > > Isn't that the inverse of all sliders? For example, if I open LibreOffice, > > it has a zoom slider on the status bar and the middle is 100%; to the left, > > it zooms out and to the right it zooms in. > > No, there is no zoom-in/zoom-out. It is interpolation between "1:1 view" > (left) and "fit-to-window" (right). Again, no UX problem but your > interpretation of the slider. Which is why it's a UX problem. It's not very discoverable and behaves the opposite of most zoom sliders, which is what this will be compared to. > If the remote is smaller than local, the slider works in an intuitive way. > If remote is larger, then again - left side is larger that right, which may > look weird, but remember - left side is 1:1 view, right side is fit to > window. I beg to differ. Moving the slider to the left so the content becomes bigger is counter-intuitive. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
