It is really nice for when the panel is transparent or background-less as the popups are floating. That required Sysadmin intervention to correct - with several carefully done force pushes from a mirror clone of the repository (a regular clone would fail terribly due to Git being confused) Should you need to use .gitmodules please file a Sysadmin ticket, including the path to the repository you are looking to use it in as well as the justification for using .gitmodules and why other options are not possible. [kmymoney] [Bug 441857] Online Banking Setup
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441857 --- Comment #6 from Hamdsa --- Despite repeated tries, I'm unable to get it to work in the Windows version for Chase. I tried using stable version 5.1.2, stable branch and master branch, none of them helped. Though master branch is the only one that resolves the issues of displaying totals for sub-accounts (separate issue). For online banking setup with Chase, there's an initial 'secure message' in Chase profile asking you to confirm your connection with the following message title: "Action Required for Quicken or QuickBooks users" which I completed successfully. However it still doesn't work within the KMyMoney software. This mean that the initial call to Chase is going through, but I suspect after this step, there might be some additional communication back from Chase which is not being handled properly by KMyMoney to recognize this 'multi-authentication' step. Someone mentioned OFXplugin for online banking setup, are they available for Windows version? I didn't find any listing for that under the plugin options within the software. I tried connection options using almost all available versions of Quicken (simulation), using both Header 102 and 103, but no luck. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=384051 Moritz Bunkus changed: What|Removed |Added CC||kde@bunkus.online --- Comment #7 from Moritz Bunkus --- I just came over here to finally report this myself after being annoyed by it for many, many years. I'm using a rather long passphrase for aqbanking's certificate, and mistyping it is common occurrence. kmymoney not recognizing this and me having to restart kmymoney is incentivizing using shorter, easier to type and hence less secure passwords. Instead, a program dealing with such an important topic should make it easy to do the right (the secure) thing. Ideally kmymoney should figure out that updating accounts through aqbanking failed due to a wrong password and un-cache the password. I can imagine, though, that the API doesn't expose this kind of detail, only whether or not the update succeeded. If this is indeed the case, I'd very much appreciate if kmymoney always un-cached the passphrase when aqbanking fails to update. If that seems too hostile to the user[1], making this behavior optional via the settings would be totally fine. [1] Of course aqbanking might fail for reasons other than wrong passphrases — network outages, DNS not working, the bank's servers not being reachable etc. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[krita] [Bug 429079] platform=wayland requires xwayland
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=429079 Jason G. changed: What|Removed |Added CC||killert...@gmail.com --- Comment #18 from Jason G. --- Linuxwacom developer reporting in with some clarification on the status of tablet support in Wayland. The "tablet_unstable_v2" protocol that was linked above is pretty much unstable only in name at this point*. XWayland, GNOME, and wlroots (Sway, etc.) have supported the compositor half of the protocol for a few years now. Basic support landed in the KWin compositor in mid-2020 as part of their 5.19 release and then extended for the early-2021 release of 5.21. On the toolkit obviously GTK3 has supported it for some time, but more interesting is "basic support" in Qt 5.15 (see https://github.com/qt/qtwayland/commit/222455cd643c128fa9730c9c527a7fdcadd0acfe for specifics). All the upstream pieces should be in place for tablets to work with Krita in Wayland. Note, however, that it may be buggy even if you can get it working somehow. The KWin/Qt Wayland tablet code has had very little real-world use at this point and there are bound to be little problems that get discovered as more people are able to test them out. * Transitioning a protocol from "unstable" to "stable" is an API break that requires all compositors / toolkits to update. Its a lot of effort for basically zero benefit. Wayland-protocols recently replaced "unstable" with "staging" to fix this issue for new protocols, but there are lots of "stable unstable" protocols like ours that may never migrate into the "stable" directory. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwallet-pam] [Bug 440527] KWallet asks for password at login after each Plasma update
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=440527 Timothy B changed: What|Removed |Added Status|REPORTED|RESOLVED Resolution|--- |NOT A BUG --- Comment #2 from Timothy B --- I updated Plasma to 5.22.5 yesterday on the offending system, and I found out that this can be triggered by quickly switching to a TTY and back immediately after logging in. This time, I chose not to do this at the next login after updating, and quite surprisingly, the KWallet dialog never showed up. [krita] [Bug 441956] New: Qthread with Python broken in Krita 5
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441956 Bug ID: 441956 Summary: Qthread with Python broken in Krita 5 Product: krita Version: unspecified Platform: Microsoft Windows OS: Microsoft Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Scripting Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: keyth2363...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I made a plugin called Tela (https://github.com/EyeOdin/Tela) that worked perfectly up until Krita 4.4.5 after that everything up too krita 5 it has become buggy. The issue to my testing was the QThread not working inside Krita as expected. since the Qt version did not change i can only assume something that allows QThreads has changed or something like that. Because the same code runs but it is not actually in a thread to run independent and not lag the interface. This is the same issue when trying to run a function inside a thread with Python instead of PyQt5. I assume that now neither methods work. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. use this plugin in krita 4.4.5 and in krita 5 2. when it tries to update the display by creating a thumbnail(created inside a QThread) by doing anything (like resizing the docker) the interface will lag. 3. Press the ON button to become DIS to see the difference to when it is not updating the thumbnail. OBSERVED RESULT you will notice that the plugin in 4.4.5 will not lag while in krita 5 it will be lagging. EXPECTED RESULT Running the Qthread and have it work as expected, without lag on the UI. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: 10 Qt Version: 5.12 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION On the Tela Plugin if you press the ON button it will change into DIS mode where it will run without trying to update the thumbnail. This literally isolates the QThread operation and you are able to see the plugin not lagging on either versions of Krita. Excluding the Option of using a thread as a viable option, I have been trying find another way to update without lagging but without some help either way there seems to be a loosing battle as there is not enough information about the user is doing available in Python to make a update with a good timming. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[KScreen] [Bug 441955] New: [Request]: Mobile confirmation dialog before changes are permanent
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441955 Bug ID: 441955 Summary: [Request]: Mobile confirmation dialog before changes are permanent Product: KScreen Version: 5.22.5 Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: common Assignee: kscreen-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: kokotekil...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY In some cases, the changes applied are hard to revert. It would be amazing if a confirmation popup to receive explicit confirmation from the user to keep the changes can be implemented (similar to the 15/10 seconds confirmation popup on Windows) or another flow with similar functionality. A comparable UX on Android would be a confirmation dialog when exiting the current view. Example confirmation dialog with Flutter on Android: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/PQLvf1tI_hE/maxresdefault.jpg STEPS TO REPRODUCE Example of current behaviour on the PinePhone where this can be an issue: - Change the display scaling from the default 200% - The scaling change is applied immediately - The user changes the value to 50% OBSERVED RESULT - Reverting from 50% to the default scaling can be very hard as the touch targets are very small. Could require use of a mouse or clearing the setting through the terminal - If the user closes KScreen (navigates up the Settings tree or closes it altogether), the changes are kept EXPECTED RESULT SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: Manjaro ARM Plasma Mobile edition (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.85.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION While the request targets specifically the PinePhone and the mobile edition, the UX could prevent unintended changes that are hard to revert on desktop as well. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[Discover] [Bug 441954] New: Discover gets stuck for a long time during fetching updates
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441954 Bug ID: 441954 Summary: Discover gets stuck for a long time during fetching updates Product: Discover Version: 5.18.6 Platform: openSUSE RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Updates (interactive) Assignee: lei...@leinir.dk Reporter: davidkace...@gmail.com CC: aleix...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- OVERVIEW When Discover is fetching updates, it takes a lot of time compared to when getting updates with the native package manager (ZYpp) or pkcon client. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install PackageKit-backend-zypp 2. Run plasma-discover --mode Update OBSERVED RESULT Fetching updates takes disproportionately long time (~10 min). EXPECTED RESULT Fetching updates takes approximately same time as native pkg mgr or pkcon client. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS openSUSE version: Leap 15.3 KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.6 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.76.0 Qt Version: 5.12.7 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The problem goes away when switching back-ends from PackageKit-backend-zypp -> PackageKit-backend-dnf. This might indicate a bug in the ZYpp back-end, however, with DNF, there are no respositories set in Discover settings except "lvfs - Linux Vendor Firmware Service" so DNF has got some mitigating circumstance. Moreover, If I disable all repositories while using the ZYpp back-end, the problem goes away too. I've also checked I'm not stuck while running "pkcon get-updates" so likely the problem is not within the ZYpp back-end but in Discover. [krusader] [Bug 392133] Huge memory consumption while doing nothing
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392133 --- Comment #37 from Ivo Smelhaus --- Kubuntu 20.04 is a last LTS with no plan to change KF and this bug is almost a blocker for using of Krusader. Is there a chance, that this bug will resolve for this KUbuntu 20.04? If there is something, I can help, I'll do it. I use Krusader (compiled from git) everyday and suffer with this bug a lot, because of I have to restart Krusader few times a day and even between the restarts causes a big usage of swap. So not to solve it for this release means make the app, you dev, not usable for more than next one year. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
