for me it works just fine, both with 15.3 GNOME and Tumbleweed GNOME. I've

Ok,if the notification is expected then this bug can be closed, I'd say.
I'm not able to reproduce it again.

New crash information added by DrKonqi

amarok (2.9.71) using Qt 5.15.3

- What I was doing when the application crashed:

typing text into the search field

I had this occurr on occasion before, but the new thing is that for the past
week or so, it happens every single time I try searching, which makes Amarok
quite useless :(.
The package itself has not been updated for longer than that.

Package version is

from

- the only neon-compatible package source for amarok that I know of...

[plasmashell] [Bug 440703] [Wayland] Selected text in Firefox (wayland native mode) cannot be middle-click-pasted into other apps

2021-09-20 Thread Andreas Hartmann
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=440703

Ok - tested with leap 15.2 and plasma-framework-5.86.0-lp152.337.1.x86_64 -
shouldn't this be 5.23 beta? Still doesn't work here. Unchanged behavior
(Firefox runs in wayland mode - xlsclient doesn't show firefox).

Another very bad thing: kwin_wayland / compositor is deactivated using nvidia
470.63. Firefox in wayland / nvidia is mostly completely unusable (run youtube
video fullscreen and go back - it's awful slow and firefox window and desktop
is horribly broken).

AMD GPU
The tests with AMD GPU are slightly better but far from being usable, too. The
actual problem mentioned here isn't fixed, too. wayland and sddm is broken
completely - you can't end a wayland session at all - sddm isn't working any
more. After reboot, you have to switch to gdm - now it's working.

Running FF youtube full screen video: try start another program like xosview
using ALT-F2. It's awful slow and temporary hangs the complete screen.
Unusable.

Touchpad configuration in wayland is absolutely broken, too - it's impossible
to change mouse speed. It's awful slow.

Compositing is disabled (like on nvidia, too), because it crashed. Transparent
windows now are disabled per default (even using X - why that? I had to enable
it manually again).

There are still so many bugs around wayland that it's massively frustrating -
regardless AMD GPU or nvidia GPU.

Thank god, Xorg still works fine. Wayland is very far from being usable. No
runas and no network transparency e.g. are still criteria for exclusion.

After the crash, it is necessary to Force Quit the INDI Server which is still

> Would it be helpful to put a "Completed Date" column in the To-do List view?
> That view already has a category color swatch.

Perhaps, but since I have a LOT of tasks, and need to visualize them when they
will be dealt with, I do not use the task list, but the agenda view where it's
easier at a glance to see when you have have to do, and when you have some
'free time'.

I really think being able to choose how to display the tasks (either at the due
date, or completion date), could be the answer to the change of behavior after
v4.8.

In newer versions of Krusader, file jobs (copy, move, etc.) are shipped to KIO
that handle them in the Plasma Notifications.

You can check this in System Settings in the tab "Notifications" section
"Applications progress"; to see the progress window again, you should have
cheked "Show in notifications" and "Keep popup open during progress". Any
change requires to restart Plasma (or logout/login). This not apply if you're
not using Plasma as DE.

After that you should get a notifications with the additional info. Also,
Krusader has a new Job Queue bar where you can handle all the jobs
running/pending (but without infos). Does it solve you needs?

[ark] [Bug 442764] New: Can't extract vma.zst files

2021-09-20 Thread Lonnie
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=442764

Bug ID: 442764
   Summary: Can't extract vma.zst files
   Product: ark
   Version: 19.12.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: plugins
  Assignee: rthoms...@gmail.com
  Reporter: k...@startport.com
CC: aa...@kde.org, elvis.angelac...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 141756
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=141756&action=edit
A test file for reproducing the issue.

SUMMARY

In Dolphin, if I double-click a tar.zst file, Ark opens up showing the contents
of that archive. However, if I try to open a vma.zst file, Ark errors with: No
suitable plugin found.

Both of these are .zst files! Even though I don't expect Ark to know what a vma
files is, I do expect it to allow me to extract that .vma file from the .zst,
just as command line zst allows:

zstd --decompress test.vma.zst

Go here for screenshots:
https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/vma-archive-restore-outside-of-proxmox.14226/post-418

More about VMA is here:
https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/VMA

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. sudo apt install zstd
2. Download attached file test.vma.zst
3. Open the the test.vma.zst file with Ark

OBSERVED RESULT
No suitable plugin found.

EXPECTED RESULT
Display the .vma file.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Linux: Kubuntu 20.04
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0
Qt Version: 5.12.8

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This may be in issue with zstd instead of Ark. I'm not sure.

Yes. If you open Kate, type something, and close Kate without saving the file
the mainwindow closes and drkonqi is immediately triggered due to a crash then.

SUMMARY
While scrolling with touchpad, the amount scrolled is not based on the
speed/acceleration of how you're scrolling, it just scrolls by a fixed amount.
It would be nice to have scrolling that depends on what speed the person is
scrolling, and not jerky like it is now.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Scroll with touchpad

OBSERVED RESULT
The scrolling of the document happens jerkily, and by a fixed amount every
time. If you're scrolling very slowly, then it scrolls a lot of lines, pauses,

Smooth scrolling, where the speed of scrolling is dependent on the speed by
which you're scrolling with the touchpad

I don't know what has gone wrong here. The breeze-icon-theme 5.78.0-2 deb
package contains
/usr/share/icons/breeze-dark/status/{16,22,24}/task-complete.svg and
/usr/share/icons/breeze/status/{16,22,24/task-complete.svg
so they should have been installed in your file system.

Perhaps reinstall the package? Check which icon themes are available in System

I just checked. it seems the game (in (windowed) fullscreen) won't even let me
click on notifications which are visible above it. i used `sleep 5 &&
notify-send -u critical 'check clicking me'` and swapped to game. the

Yes, my thinking as well. Also unless the particular messaging app exposes it
in some way, it wouldn't be possible for KDE Connect to access it (without

I retain hope that we're both wrong and the archive status is in the "real"

This isn't enough to answer the question of "where are the docs for the
relevant API?", but when I look in the sqlite database for
com.android.messaging, there is a column in the "Conversations" table named
"archive_status", which is of type "int".

How to access that through an API? Err, yep, nope.

As of now, I don't believe this is possible. I believe the archived state is a
"facade" created by some messaging apps to hide conversations you don't want to
see, but which is fully managed by the messaging app.

The list of columns (which tell you about messages in Android) is here:
https://developer.android.com/reference/android/provider/Telephony.BaseMmsColumns

If anyone has documentation for how to support archiving messages, please share
it here.

UPDATE ON VIDEO #2:

This issue doesn't exist if I move my system tray to the LEFT SIDE of my panel.

So it seems that when you first hover the mouse cursor over the "Bookmarks" or
"Mounted Shares" menu, it expands it "off screen" on the right side. But when
you dance with the mouse and try again, it correctly identifies that there is
no "viewable area" to the right, so it correctly presents the sub-menu to the
left.

When I try again with the KDE system tray on the left of the panel, then
there's no issue since it defaults to expanding the sub-menu to the right side
where there is plenty of visible space. :)

I hope that helps narrow down that particular issue with the system tray.

(This only concerns a very specific issue which has nothing to do with the
other video and list of bugs in the initial report.)

More videos to come, ask if there's any more information I can provide!

Video #2: Tray-icon doesn't reveal Bookmarks unless you "dance" with the mouse
cursor either by moving over the Bookmarks menu, moving it away, and then
moving it back, or by simply exit the tray context menu and trying it again.

https://imgur.com/a/WGs2NP9

Sometimes it takes *extra* attempts and an even *longer* delay than what you
see in the video capture.

The same phenomenon happens with the "Mounted Shares" menu. So it's not
exclusive only to the "Bookmarks" menu.

Hey sh_zam,

We would really prefer to do something that doesn't negatively affect the
desktop experience. If a work-around needs to happen, we should consider doing
it using platform specific defines.

My main concern is ensuring that the animation dockers are consistent with
other dockers in the desktop version and don't visually break.

Thanks for confirming that the titlebar colour changes are intentional, but the
titlebar text not changing colours might not :-).
I checked through this bug tracker, and found:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=435905
If I understand correctly, this is basically the issue I also see: In the theme
colour schemes, there actually seem to be different text colours for
active/inactive title texts, but they these are not honoured anymore when
header colours are used (and there are no active/inactive Header group titlebar
text colors).
So it seems the issue I wanted to raise seems to exist already ;-). But an MR
to fix this seems to be more complex than an MR changing the colour scheme
files.

AnimTransform: Fix move tool not respecting, modifying, or outright breaking

Should work more or less how the user expects. There could be more to
streamline the process
to make it less error prone to interface with animation, and `setParameters`
sometimes causing
animations to "break" will need to be investigated at some point. For now, it
works.

Changed compression value of save throttle for timeline zoom.

Original intent was to prevent the config saving from slowing down
zoom performance. While it worked, 5000MS (5 seconds) of required
inactivity made zoom saving unpredictable. A low value (now 100ms)
will prevent the configuration writing process from slowing down
zoom operation while preserving user settings even after a reboot
within 5 seconds of last zoom operation.

Fix frame cache invalidation with live preview on Windows.

I couldn't determine why this behavior is different between windows and
linux, but I was able to solve the issue. Basically, when we refresh
graph async we want to block frame invalidation temporarily since we
will do so later in the method manually if it's necessary.

I also noticed we have a few uses of `friend class` here or there that
need to eventually be cleaned up. I've made a note of it, and I will
handle it once Krita 5 is officially out.

[Akonadi] [Bug 386985] akonadi CalDav resource not synching with certain servers

If you're using mailbox.org don't bother thanking the KDE devs; they did
nothing. Mailbox upgraded their server software and now it works around the
Kontact bug.

[Breeze] [Bug 438357] breeze-dark window header and title colours erroneous

2021-09-20 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=438357

I know it's intentional that the titlebar, toolbar, and menubar backgrounds
change for active vs inactive windows. I can't remember whether it's
intentional that the titlebar text doesn't change, however. And I can confirm
that this affects with the Breeze Light theme as well. It might actually be a
bug or oversight. Can you please file a separate bug report for that and cc me
(n...@kde.org)? You could even submit a merge request to change/fix it
yourself! The color scheme files live here:
https://invent.kde.org/plasma/breeze/-/tree/master/colors. It shouldn't be too
hard to do, and I can help you if you run into trouble.

[gwenview] [Bug 442510] I can't see avif images, kimageformat-plugins package updated to 5.86 with support for avif file

kimageformats can be built with or without AVIF support. For example when
libavif is missing then kimg_avif.so is not built.

Check if you have kimg_avif.so in /usr/lib/qt5/plugins/imageformats (or
/usr/lib/qt/plugins/imageformats/ or
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/imageformats)

Tell me If you have the kimg_avif.so and then I will know more.

Yeah, the file lives in plasma-framework, but we somewhat confusingly track
Breeze Theme bugs here in the plasmashell Bugzilla product.

Now that you've found the problem, would you like to submit a merge request to
fix it? You can submit it at
https://invent.kde.org/frameworks/plasma-framework/-/merge_requests

IIRC something crashed when I put saveState() in there, which is why I ended up
extracting part of its logic in the destructor instead. I can't quite remember
the details though.
