[kmymoney] [Bug 444100] Kmymoney will not open

[plasmashell] [Bug 393929] Plasmashell gobbles all my memory leak
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393929 --- Comment #36 from Nate Graham --- With my "member of the KDE team" hat on: I acknowledge this bug but cannot reproduce it, and memory leak bugs in general are incredibly hard to debug, even in the best case scenario where the reporter has localized the issue to just a specific widget or triggering behavior. It requires specialized skill that I unfortunately do not have, which is why I don't generally do much with bug reports about memory leaks. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 393929] Plasmashell gobbles all my memory leak
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393929 --- Comment #34 from Iyán Méndez Veiga --- I don't think it's that generalized and I also don't think they would not acknowledge if they knew this is a real issue for sure, why would they? I think it's hard to replicate, probably it depends on some specific hardware combination and probably most Plasma developers restart plasmashell very often. If we can still observe this on 5.23 maybe we should also change the version in the bug report. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 393929] Plasmashell gobbles all my memory leak
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393929 --- Comment #33 from whoopsdecade --- Btw, the workaround I've been using is setting up a script to run every couple of days or so to restart plasmashell automatically: kquitapp5 plasmashell || killall plasmashell && kstart5 plasmashell It's not as traumatic as other options to restart plasmashell that I tried. Your windows get reordered and that's about it. I can't even tell when it ran and it keeps plasmashell memory usage in check. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 393929] Plasmashell gobbles all my memory leak
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393929 --- Comment #32 from whoopsdecade --- Unfortunately the KDE team is not interested in even acknowledging this issue. I think they know of this bug and can reproduce it easily they just don't want to acknowledge it. I managed to get a co-worker to reproduce it on his own machine with no knowledge of his setup, I simply told him to not power-off his machine for several days and the memory leak was very apparent: plasmashell memory consumption ballooned. In short, it's a widespread memory leak but either very few people use KDE or very few use KDE and leave the PC powered on for more than a single day. Such a shame. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[plasmashell] [Bug 430139] plasmashell has a memory leak
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=430139 --- Comment #8 from Alberto Salvia Novella --- I discovered a while ago that, in my case, the leak was caused by a tray icon: qsyncthingtray. Yet it would be smart that the plasma service has a maximum memory limit. Systemd allows that, and automatically restarts the service once reached. [digikam] [Bug 444211] New: Auto "contrast" feature for Thumbnails and Preview ?
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=444211 Bug ID: 444211 Summary: Auto "contrast" feature for Thumbnails and Preview ? Product: digikam Version: 7.4.0 Platform: Other OS: Other Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: Thumbs-Image Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: basilr...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 142738 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=142738&action=edit astroimagej and irfanview screenshots It would be very nice to have a setting that can automatically adjust "contrast" when viewing Thumbnails and Previews. This would be Very helpful when browsing through my astronomy .FITS files, and probably "normal" images also. For astro images the "data" in the image is in a very narrow range of the image histogram and when browsing, digiKam Thumbnails or Preview there is never enough contrast. What I'm suggesting is something like the Color Auto-Correction feature in the Image Editor. Many astronomy programs have a feature when they display image (thumbnail, etc.) it bases the low/high (black/white points) on the mean image value +/- a certain fraction of the standard deviation of the image (follow me?) For example a 16bit image has a mean value of 16,760 and a standard deviation of 1434. The program (in this case AstroImagej - see attached file) will set the low/black point at 16,760 - (0.5 * 1434) = 16,043 and the high/white point at 16,760 + (2 * 1434) = 19,628. This gives excellent contrast to see the "data". Some basic image browsers have a similar feature where you can force the Gamma to a certain value, but this doesn't always work very well. See the IrfanView screen grab attached. Hope this was clear, sorry for the lengthy post. Many thanks again! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 444202] Sometimes windows become transparent in Wayland
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=444202 --- Comment #1 from Lyubomir --- Excuse me but i just noticed missed details in my description. The video recording is from yesterday when it happened and today i'm filling the bug as it happened again. What i have described in the above comment - swap 100% and Firefox killing are from today's crash. I've just checked the earlyoom logs from a little before the yesterday recording and it again then has killed "Isolated Web Content" and "GeckoMain", so the pattern of killing GeckoMain and this happening is a likely reason, i think so. In yesterday's recording you can see nan% in the desktop RAM widget for swap, so yesterday my swap was disabled when it happened (yes i had it disabled yesterday). Nevermind without or with swap early-oom killed GeckoMain and there was this issue. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

That is, when I tried to install the new version without uninstalling the beta2 ver, my device just didn't allow the installation. Then I realized that there is something wrong with the actual version number. The version number of beta2 is 5050001 while the one of prealpha 5.1.0 ver is 505000, so the system thought that i was trying to overwrite a new version with a old one, which caused the failure. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=444170 gjditchfi...@acm.org changed: What|Removed |Added CC||gjditchfi...@acm.org --- Comment #1 from gjditchfi...@acm.org --- I have the opposite problem: the checkbox in front of "always start with plugin" is obeyed, but when it is checked, Kontact always starts with the Summary regardless of the plugin I select. [kalendar] [Bug 444194] Time-picker widget should be usable, regardless of screen-size
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=444194 --- Comment #2 from Claudio Cambra --- I've opened a MR that should help address this issue somewhat. The height of the picker should be smaller, which should help avoid it getting cut off, and the tumblers (the spinning elements containing the hours and minutes) can now be scrolled with the mouse wheel. Making the popup extend beyond the parent dialog is not really feasible without a significant increase in complexity and headaches. In terms of the format consistency, I will look into this further -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 443951] 5.23.0 Has Horrible Compositing Issues - Black Boxes and Flickering showing up
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=443951 --- Comment #15 from Matt McDonald --- Okay so full screen repaints isn't cutting it. After selecting the option earlier, I couldn't force the bug by switching to a TTY and back, but after I rebooted to test KWIN_USE_BUFFER_AGE=0 in my /etc/environment, and switching back and forth between "Automatic," "Only when cheap," and "Full screen repaints," I saw the issue on all three - which also means that KWIN_USE_BUFFER_AGE=0 doesn't help. kwin_x11 --replace still works to fix it. I'll attach the journalctl messages from this go-round. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[frameworks-purpose] [Bug 444205] New: "Send to device" dialog doesn't set its window title
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=444205 Bug ID: 444205 Summary: "Send to device" dialog doesn't set its window title Product: frameworks-purpose Version: 5.87.0 Platform: Neon Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: aleix...@kde.org Reporter: xnagyti...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 142733 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=142733&action=edit Screenshot SUMMARY The "Send to device" dialog doesn't properly set its window title. It inherits its window title and icon from the application the dialog was triggered from. The lack of a descriptive window title makes this window hard to be distinguished from the dialog's source app on the task bar. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=444199 --- Comment #3 from S.
