Can reproduce even with the port to the new scrollview. Looks like the same
root cause as Bug 387797, which is caused by the index of items being
inappropriately changed on hover or scroll.

(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.89.0
Qt Version: 5.15.3

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Why I want this?
Because the phone is able to decide which installed application is the best to
open that link. If it's a website it'll open it on a web browser (my default
browser), if it's a video it'll try to open on a video player. My primary use
case would be to open youtube videos to watch on my phone without having to
touch it.
Yes, I know that I can use the Plasma Integration Extension to have this
feature, sending the link directly from the browser, but I use Vivaldi and
prefer to use as little extensions as possible (none, except h264ify for
hardware limitations). Also, seems and obvious omission.

2022-01-11 Thread Loucura
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=444279

I tried to implement this, and I almost got it working, but not completely.
I attached the respective patches for it anyway, as they may serve as a
starting point for whoever gets to implement this (no need to mention me if
they are used).
One is for plasma-desktop, the other is for plasma-workspace.

With these changes, the Meta+Shift+1..9 shortcuts actually appear in the
Keyboard Shortcuts settings, but the default shortcuts are not working.
If i then manually assign the combination Meta+Shift+1 in the Keyboard
Shortcuts settings, it actually shows as Meta+! (for my keyboard), and then the
shortcut works.
I'm not knowledgeable enough in Qt/KDE to fix that.

[Discover] [Bug 448280] New: RFE: Plasma discover needs better progress indicators

2022-01-11 Thread P Fudd
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=448280

Bug ID: 448280

Hi;
In Discover, it's not obvious when large updates are being installed; after
clicking, the display appears frozen.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Wait for a system update containing ~200 package updates
2. Select the update, click 'update'
3. Wait

OBSERVED RESULT
The app appears to hang for minutes. There's an icon at the bottom that looks
like it might be for cancelling the update, but it's hard to say for sure.

EXPECTED RESULT
* There should be some signs that work is being done and whether it can be
safely interrupted.
* It would be best if there was a progress bar with an ETA calculation showing
when the user will be needed to click on something (system reboot?) or process
will finish.
* Second best is just a progress bar (calibrated by time, not 'number of
packages')
* Third best is a 'busy' indicator

[plasmashell] [Bug 448279] New: File name of selected file on desktop remains truncated

2022-01-11 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=448279

Bug ID: 448279
Summary: File name of selected file on desktop remains
truncated
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Folder
  Assignee: h...@kde.org
  Reporter: php4...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Save a file with a very long file name to the desktop
2. Select it by clicking on it

OBSERVED RESULT

When the file is not selected, the filename is truncated and shown with an
ellipsis ("...") and that's fine.
When I select it, the filename (now highlighted) is STILL truncated with the
ellipsis. In order to see the whole file name, I have to right-click and
inspect file Properties.
When you have several (meaning more than 2) files with long names that only
differ in the ending, this gets very irritating.

EXPECTED RESULT

When you select a file, the entire filename should be shown one way or another
(be it in-place or in a tooltip if it gets too long, if you want), even if it
gets a little ugly. It could be ok to still have a limit, e.g. in the few
hundred of characters, if there's a concern that a file with hugely long file
name can render the desktop unusable, but I can't really imagine how that would
happen. The important thing is that I MUST be able to see the full name of a
file on the desktop quickly, with no more effort than clicking on it, without
opening a whole File Properties window.

2022-01-11 Thread Julius Künzel
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=446170

Thanks for making these test! The timeline panel is written in QML while most
of the other panels are QWidgets so that might be the reason.

One last question for the moment: the effects list (on your first screenshot it
is on the left side above the timeline tabbed together with eg. the Project
Bin) is also written in QML does this one render correct?

You are right.

- AppImage : no mariadb (but it can be added easily)
- MacOS : mariadb 10.5 is present to work with Qt 5.15.2
- Windows : no mariadb (in fact mxe do not have a mariadb package, and i try to
cross compile without success)

2022-01-11 Thread Maik Qualmann
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447873

If I'm not mistaken, the AppImage does not contain a MariaDB server. Only in
the MacOS version does the bundle contain the MariaDB server. In the Windows
and Linux AppImage, the MariaDB servers found are used by the system. Therefore
it is problematic to use MariaDB 10.6.x here.

Here under openSUSE I'm using MariaDB 10.6.x, but the Qt packages are patched
accordingly, at least I don't have any crashes. I'm search for the story when
the problem with the current MariaDB in Archlinux first appeared.

To my last patch: I can now update my old test internal DB from version 7 to
15, the upgrade was executed.

[dolphin] [Bug 448278] New: Missing setting of open (Enter key) shortcut key

2022-01-11 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=448278

Bug ID: 448278
Summary: Missing setting of open (Enter key) shortcut key
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 21.12.0
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: ppeli...@gmail.com
CC: kfm-de...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

There is missing an "Open in Current Tab" action (left mouse click on
folder/file or Enter key) in the "Configure Keyboard Shortcuts". The default
key is Enter and it is impossible to modify this.
There are only "Open in New Tab" or "Open in New Window" actions, and the "Open
in Current Tab" is missing.

This leads to inconveniences, since for example - it is impossible to open an
item with spacebar key as it is default behavior in many other file managers.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open any folder in Dolphin
2. Select (highlight) any file or folder in the main window
3. Press Spacebar key (nothing happens here)
4. Click the background
5. Press Spacebar key again
6. Observe, that previously selected item gets highlighted again, but nothing
is being opened or being run.

Second part:
1. Navigate to Settings -> Configure Keyboard Shortcuts
2. Try to find the "Open in Current Tab" action (in order to set it to
"EnterSpacebar" keys)
3. Observe that there are only "Open in New Tab" or "Open in New Window"
options possible, and "Open in Current Tab" is missing.

OBSERVED RESULT
"Open in Current Tab" shortcut key setting is missing.

EXPECTED RESULT
"Open in Current Tab" shortcut key setting should be present and set to Enter
key by default. When modified to another key, pressing that key should cause
exactly the same result as previously pressing Enter key in main window.

When copying a download link to Kget, or using the Firefox Kget extension, or
using Falkons external download manager feature, Kget always crashes when
attempting to download from Archive.org. Other websites seem to work fine. This
can be reproduced easily. I was attempting to download large files, over 15GB,

I don't think any amount of warnings will prevent accidents some times. And
such a feature could be annoying for users who are intentionally searching in
the specified place. If we make it configurable, it will likely never get
discovered by users.

Right click on a symbol and click "Sort Alphabetically" to sort and then
uncheck it to undo the sorting back to original state.

The design and discoverability could be improved I guess. For such discussions,
best open an issue on the repo.

[kate] [Bug 447949] lsp-client: gopls results in constant errors when typing

2022-01-11 Thread Waqar Ahmed
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447949

> I doubt that the changes I did for gopls

They would with slight changes assuming that a path such as

/home/$USER/go/bin is a common path for go to live in, we can provide a config
that will automatically search for gopls in this directory. See for example
rust's configuration.

> The PHP one maybe worth adding, but there are several supported Language
> Servers

That'd be great, however so far no one has been able to come up with a PHP LSP
that is good and open source. We have an open issue on the repo regarding PHP
LSP, perhaps you can comment there

The output unfortunately isn't very helpful. Does the configuration match with
what you have in VIM? Perhaps we can find an answer there. Generally the
diagnostic errors occur when the server isn't able to locate included files or
referenced libraries due to some misconfiguration.

Nope, not fixed for me. Presently 5.23.5

Just noticed a second bug that I'd guess is really part of this one:

In Desktop view, sometimes once I right-click, only another right-click will
get rid of the popup; left click is ignored. This is not consistent and went
away after I'd tried it several times, as if some setting didn't get updated in
a timely manner. It did NOT happen in Folder view.

[Powerdevil] [Bug 436504] Sleep/suspend is broken on KDE Neon Testing Edition

2022-01-11 Thread Arek Guzinski
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=436504

Does anyone who is *not* on neon experience this bug? If so, what Distro are
you on? Is it Ubuntu-based?

I still think, this is more likely an issue with systemd (or at least it's
ubuntu-packages), but I can't find anything on their bugtrackers :/

Btw: here is a workaround for the Sleep-shortcut, that might work for some
people. I did work for me before, but not now, because every time the system
wakes up again, some fan decides to spin and not stop until I reboot :( - this
did not happen the last time.

In the shell:
$ sudo -i
$ echo "echo mem > /sys/power/state" > /usr/local/sbin/sleep
$ chmod +x /usr/local/sbin/sleep
$ visudo

This will open /etc/sudoers in vim (do NOT do this manually).
Add the following line somewhere near the bottom (I put it right above the
#includedir statement), replacing USER and HOSTNAME with your user name and
whatever is in /etc/hostname:

USER HOSTNAME = (root) NOPASSWD: /usr/local/sbin/sleep

close with ESC ZZ

then open systemsettings and navigate to Shortcuts -> Custom Shortcuts
Right Click on some group (or create one) and create a new shortcut (New ->
Global Shortcut -> Command/URL)

Set Trigger to your prefered Sleep shortcut
Set Action to
sudo /usr/local/sbin/sleep

I don't understand the patch "to update memos on present transactions". If a
transaction is a duplicate, it is already imported once. How could it change
when imported a second time? That can't be. If this is meant only for paypal
transactions imported with a prior version of AqBanking, I vote against it,
because it might also affect other importers. If you want that, remove the
transaction in the ledger and re-import.

I tried the centos Appimage and it has the same issues and in addition, it
complains about KIO access at startup, which the official one does not.

I also tried the PPA version, which besides screwing up by plasma widgets did
nothing more.

As I envisioned, the other versions did not work either and I am convinced is a
rendering problem for the tracks pannel, which I believe has a different
rendering.

Both Blender and Openshot work just fine on 30 bit displays

[krita] [Bug 448181] My entire drawing dissapeared from the layer and I'm unable to draw on it.

Fixed document

Hi, I checked what's wrong and it's not a bug in Krita. You just did two
things:
- changed the blending mode to Overlay (while it should stay on "Normal") - you
change it in the combobox in the Layers box, it's located on top of all the
layers
- hid the layer (clicked the lock icon)
In the attachment I added a fixed document, but I encourage you to try to fix
the previous one so you will know what to do next time or maybe you won't get
this issue again.

Please next time when you have a problem of this kind, use the forum
krita-artists.org, that way you'll get help faster from other users of Krita.
This (bugs.kde.org) is more like a development-oriented website so it's not a
good place to ask for support. I got to your bug report quite quickly but it's
normal for a report to wait even month before someone checks it. On the forum
you'd get an answer faster, and it would be from other users.

Does it happen when you try to launch it from the KRunner-powered search in
Kickoff too? Or just KRunner itself?

This isn't really actionable. There are so many things that this would touch
that we really need separate bug reports for each thing. See
https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Issue_Reporting#One_issue_per_Bugzilla_ticket

Bugzilla tickers are more for reporting specific bugs or requesting specific
features, not really so much for "fix all the things please" :)

That mockup is very nice, and we are generally moving in that direction.
However it's too big for a single bug report.

We used to have this but removed it because it made Kickoff feel slow and
laggy. We experimented with making the animation duration very short but then
it was so short that it looked like no animation at all. In the end removing
the animations was really the only way to avoid the feeling of lagginess.
