[frameworks-baloo] [Bug 402154] Baloo reindexes everything after every reboot
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402154 --- Comment #38 from tagwer...@innerjoin.org --- (In reply to Joachim Wagner from comment #37) > (1) Symlinks to other folders: If the target folder is indexed anyway the > link can be ignored. If not, the default probably should be not to follow > the link as the target folder is under a folder that the user specifically > excluded from indexing. Symlinks provide a bit of an edge case :-) There are a stream of issues reported. At the moment baloo deliberately avoids following symlinks when indexing whereas dolphin searches do follow them. There's a summary under Bug 447119 A commonly reported scenario is that people have a separately mounted disc with a symlink to it (as a way to give extra space for ~/Pictures, ~/Videos or whatever). What might (should?) happen here if we look at mount points? I can see: stat -f ~/symlinkto/myfile or: findmnt -nT ~/symlinkto/myfile give the Filesystem ID and mount point for the destination disc and ignore the fact that you have followed a symlink to get to it. I'd say it makes sense to deal with the canonical names (on the destination device) while indexing and do any adjustments to search results wrt symlinks when returning search results. Does the "mount point" idea work here? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383555 --- Comment #20 from jumax9 --- And does it display on the primary monitor (which would be to the right) because that's exactly the situation I'm unable to achieve. Could you let me know what your yakuake and plasma versions are? If we are using the same then there is something wrong with my installation or configuration. To be more specific, my layout is: [secondary monitor] [primary monitor] Yakuake, doesn't matter which option I use (Screen 1, Screen 2 or "At Mouse location"), will only appear in [secondary monitor]. The funny thing is I tried to change the layout and then it appeared only on [primary monitor] hence my comment about only appearing on the leftmost monitor. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 447558] "Files linked to the current activity" makes desktops of other activities show nothing before restarting plasmashell
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447558 Fushan Wen changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |FIXED Status|ASSIGNED|RESOLVED Latest Commit||https://invent.kde.org/plas ||ma/plasma-desktop/commit/7f ||09fb161188a4615af00dce23a83 ||56935f42f00 --- Comment #5 from Fushan Wen --- Git commit 7f09fb161188a4615af00dce23a8356935f42f00 by Fushan Wen. Committed on 18/01/2022 at 10:12. Pushed by fusionfuture into branch 'master'. screenmapper: Remember activity ID in screen mapping This commit adds an extra string to screenmapper to remember the activity ID corresponding to the screen ID. Now screenmapper can correctly handle different activites, and desktops of different activities can correctly show their items. The problem When the user sets "Files linked to the current activity" on one activity (A) and switches to any other activity (B), though the desktop on activity B is set to "Show Desktop folder", there is nothing on the desktop until the user restarts plasmashell. The cause In screenmapper.cpp, `removeScreen()` only checkes for the screen ID, but two activities can share the same screen ID. Then if both the two activities are set to "Show desktop folder", then in `setUrl()` 1. After the user changes the desktop folder option on one of the two activities, `removeScreen()` will remove all item records related to the screen ID and **the old URL (desktop:/)**. 2. But `addScreen()` will only add back item records for the current activity because `addScreen()` will directly return if `m_availableScreens` already contains the screen ID (which is added from the current activity). 3. Thus items on the desktop of the other activity incorrectly disappears. The fix 1. When calling `addScreen()` or `removeScreen()` from FolderModel, also consider the activity corresponding to the FolderModel, which is the current activity when the FolderModel is initialized. 2. Provide a migrator for the old configuration entries because an extra record is added. [plasmashell] [Bug 448708] New: [SDDM] OnScreen Keyboard becomes very tiny after selecting "X11" in the combobox
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=448708 Bug ID: 448708 Summary: [SDDM] OnScreen Keyboard becomes very tiny after selecting "X11" in the combobox Product: plasmashell Version: 5.23.90 Platform: Neon Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk Reporter: pos...@posteo.eu CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 145610 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=145610&action=edit Screenrecording SUMMARY I am testing the Wayland session on KDE Neon Unstable, so when rebooting "Wayland" is pre-chosen on the SDDM screen. When I now open the virtual Keyboard, it scales correctly, maybe almost too huge. When I however now select "X11" in the combobox and open the virtual keyboard again, it becomes very tiny. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Neon Unstable KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.80 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.91.0 Qt Version: 5.15.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Scaling in X11 and Wayland: 2.0 Scaling was not automatically applied to SDDM, so it still scales with 1.0 (yay!)
