[lattedock] [Bug 449402] New: Latte doesn't fill the panel width, causes system tray / clock / etc to move left
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449402 Bug ID: 449402 Summary: Latte doesn't fill the panel width, causes system tray / clock / etc to move left Product: lattedock Version: 0.10.7 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: plasmoid Assignee: mvourla...@gmail.com Reporter: sonichedgehog_hyperblas...@yahoo.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 146092 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=146092=edit Screenshot SUMMARY When placed on a panel, the Latte task manager will not fill the panel and take up its entire width, causing widgets to its right (system tray, clock, etc) to be positioned at its left rather than at the right side of the screen. The default Task Manager and Icon Only Task manager take this approach which seems to be the safe and correct technique. STEPS TO REPRODUCE In a standard Plasma setup you can just right-click the existing task manager and select Show Alternatives then replace it with Latte, or just place it on the bottom panel manually if that fails. OBSERVED RESULT The first thing you'll notice is how your system tray and clock move to the center of the panel then move around based on how many tasks you have open. EXPECTED RESULT It feels like Latte should behave like the builtin task managers in this regard, not changing the size of the entire plasmoid. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION It might be a good idea to have an option for this? One that allows you to pick where and how you want the icons to be positioned: Either dynamically scale the widget (current functionality), fixed width aligned to the left (default task manager behavior), to the right if anyone wants that, or center them in the middle of the screen (a cool feature to have)... it should however be consistent both when the plasmoid is on the desktop or the panel. [Discover] [Bug 441428] Ability to easily install in homedir rather than systemwide
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441428 WS changed: What|Removed |Added CC||ws@outlook.com --- Comment #6 from WS --- Yeah, I'm also requesting this. My arguments for this are: — On multi-user system, this allows the installation of packages for only the current user, not everything should be accessible for every user. — This should also prevent Discover asking for root, so not every user should need access or permission to install an app. — If you have /home as a mounted partition, you could take all your Apps with you to your next distro — The root partition could be significantly smaller than the /home partition, without the user needing to take as much care to not fill /root with junk — Immutable Systems might become the future for one to two dot users, I'm unsure how Fedora Kinoite is handling this with Discover, but adding the option right now might simplify necessary work in the future -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

OBSERVED RESULT EXPECTED RESULT SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Pop-up pallete often appears when I am normally drawing. Left(sometimes right too)-click makes it dissapear. It happens suddenly, while drawing, but it seems that sometimes when I draw with high-pressure (i.e. pussing the pen a bit harder), it can happen more. [confirmed: when I push the pen hard on the tablet, the pop-up pallet appears. But please note that it appears when I do not push it at all, too] And this is another problem, when I am changing some parameter of something, such as size of pen or transparancy, the box becomes blue if you know what I mean, then only the blue box remains on the screen after changed the parameter. Sorry it is hard for my ENglish to tell you problems precisely. I use Krita on a Chromebook, C100P. This not old laptop doesnt get OS update anymore due to expiration. [systemsettings] [Bug 449400] New: [Feature Request] Add an option to exclude a window from the show desktop effect
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449400 Bug ID: 449400 Summary: [Feature Request] Add an option to exclude a window from the show desktop effect Product: systemsettings Version: 5.23.5 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: kcm_kwinrules Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: putr...@gmail.com CC: isma...@gmail.com, plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- The idea is to be able to take any regular window and make it act like a plasmoid, instead of having to create a plasmoid from scratch. Currently with window rules it is possible to get quite close, by making the window stay below other windows, making it appear across all virtual desktops, fixing the position and size, and so on, however using the show desktop effect would of course still hide it since it is still a window. A couple of use cases relevant to me for this would be to have a terminal that displays htop (which some may prefer instead of the system monitor widgets), and having Elisa's full interface (since its design is responsive it works even when shrunk) accessible anytime instead of having to track it down, leaving a virtual desktop just for it and/or having yet another system tray icon. While simply writing plasmoids for these is probably the ideal solution for proper integration and whatnot it seems like a shame if there are apps that do the job well already. Other use cases I can think of would be for apps like Discord and Signal, where writing a plasmoid might mean reimplementing a lot of things that the apps already do, like protocols and whatnot. Now I understand that this might well complicate things significantly under the hood and is likely very niche to say the least, so feel free to close this if it's not worth the hassle it would entail, I just thought it'd be a nice to have, definitely no dealbreaker for me. Also, while searching for possible duplicates I noticed that this is already sort of possible thanks to bug 406101, although of course keeping the to-be-plasmoid window above others wouldn't work. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449398 Bug ID: 449398 Summary: Non-Qt/KDE apps stutter / have rendering issues under Wayland Product: kwin Version: master Platform: Compiled Sources OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: wayland-generic Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: rapiteanu.cata...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When using Wayland with the Nvidia proprietary driver, all non-Qt/KDE apps stutter to a point that makes them unusable. This is extremely visible when the application does some playback (like playing a video in Firefox) or typing something in a box (like the Matrix chat Element). It seems that instead of rendering the next frame, for a split second the previous frame is being rendered and only then the correct frame is being drawn. For example, if you have in a text box the word "hell", when you type the last "o", sometimes, the word drawn will be "hel" and only a bit afterwards you will see the full "hello" word. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Start a Wayland session with the Nvidia proprietary driver. 2. Start any type of non-Qt/KDE application (like Element chat). 3. Type a message. [kdenlive] [Bug 449397] New: Audio waveforms incorrect for mono tracks when opening projects from older versions
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449397 Bug ID: 449397 Summary: Audio waveforms incorrect for mono tracks when opening projects from older versions Product: kdenlive Version: git-master Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Video Display & Export Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org Reporter: mazin07+...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 146090 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=146090=edit Screenshot showing actual vs expected timeline preview SUMMARY Using Kdenlive 22.03.07 (or Kdenlive 21.12.1) to open a project created in Kdenlive 21.04.1 results in the audio waveforms shown in the timeline to be incorrect. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Run Kdenlive 21.04.1 Linux AppImage. 2. Drag a mono FLAC audio file onto the timeline and see that the audio thumbnail shows a waveform that matches the track. 3. Save the project and quit kdenlive. 4. Run Kdenlive 22.03.7 from kdenlive master ppa or Kdenlive 21.12.1 AppImage official release. 5. Open project file. OBSERVED RESULT The waveform preview for the mono audio track on the timeline is stretched 2x and no longer matches the audio as it's playing. EXPECTED RESULT The waveform should appear the same as it did in Kdenlive 21.04.1. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Ubuntu 20.04 x86_64 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I also cannot find an obvious way to regenerate the preview so my video project that I started in the old version is now stuck. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[gwenview] [Bug 449396] New: [Wayland] Gwenview crashes with date modified sort in Dolphin when folder has corrupted video file
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449396 Bug ID: 449396 Summary: [Wayland] Gwenview crashes with date modified sort in Dolphin when folder has corrupted video file Product: gwenview Version: 21.12.1 Platform: Neon Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Keywords: drkonqi Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: gwenview-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: s3ndstuffh...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Application: gwenview (21.12.1) Qt Version: 5.15.3 Frameworks Version: 5.90.0 Operating System: Linux 5.15.11-051511-generic x86_64 Windowing System: Wayland Distribution: KDE neon User - Plasma 25th Anniversary Edition DrKonqi: 5.23.5 [KCrashBackend] -- Information about the crash: - What I was doing when the application crashed: Opening an image in a folder through dolphin (opening it directly through Gwenview works fine). - Requirements for this to happen: Folder needs to contain a corrupted video file and any number of images. I have attached a test directory that when sorted by date modified always crashes when opening in dolphin here: https://av1d.eu/s/5fDrNKKcNLgpyML . Open gelatinouscube.png from dolphin into gwenview and it will crash when dolphin is sorted by date modified but not when sorted by name. Dolphin version: 21.12.1 Gwenview Version: 21.12.1 The crash can be reproduced every time. -- Backtrace: Application: Gwenview (gwenview), signal: Aborted [New LWP 1782073] [New LWP 1782074] [New LWP 1782075] [New LWP 1782076] [New LWP 1782077] [New LWP 1782078] [New LWP 1782079] [New LWP 1782080] [New LWP 1782081] [New LWP 1782082] [New LWP 1782083] [New LWP 1782084] [New LWP 1782085] [New LWP 1782086] [New LWP 1782087] [New LWP 1782088] [New LWP 1782089] [New LWP 1782090] [New LWP 1782091] [New LWP 1782092] [New LWP 1782093] [New LWP 1782094] [New LWP 1782095] [New LWP 1782096] [New LWP 1782097] [New LWP 1782098] [New LWP 1782099] [New LWP 1782100] [New LWP 1782101] [New LWP 1782102] [New LWP 1782103] [New LWP 1782104] [New LWP 1782105] [New LWP 1782106] [New LWP 1782107] [New LWP 1782108] [New LWP 1782109] [New LWP 1782110] [New LWP 1782111] [New LWP 1782112] [New LWP 1782113] [New LWP 1782114] [New LWP 1782115] [Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled] Using host libthread_db library "/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libthread_db.so.1". 0x7fa9ca153aff in __GI___poll (fds=0x7ffeb37c07f8, nfds=1, timeout=1000) at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/poll.c:29 __preamble__ [Current thread is 1 (Thread 0x7fa9c42f2c40 (LWP 1782072))] Thread 44 (Thread 0x7fa90a7fc700 (LWP 1782115)): #0 futex_wait_cancelable (private=, expected=0, futex_word=0x5604c9626ae0) at ../sysdeps/nptl/futex-internal.h:183 #1 __pthread_cond_wait_common (abstime=0x0, clockid=0, mutex=0x5604c9626a90, cond=0x5604c9626ab8) at pthread_cond_wait.c:508 #2 __pthread_cond_wait (cond=0x5604c9626ab8, mutex=0x5604c9626a90) at pthread_cond_wait.c:638 #3 0x7fa9b1a11e7b in ??
