Hmm, maybe it is a similar but not identical Qt issue.

Can you search through the bugs at
https://bugreports.qt.io/secure/QuickSearch.jspa?searchString=ibus and see if
any ones there describe your issue?

2022-02-11 Thread Samuel Reddy
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=450053

Bug ID: 450053
Summary: Chromium(on ozone wayland) opens in maximized state
and size, but does not show restore icon when using
system borders
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.24.0
  Platform: Other

SUMMARY:
When using Chromium(on ozone wayland) with system borders, if chromium is
closed maximized, then chromium is reopened, it opens in a maximized state and
size, but does not show restore icon. If you click the maximize icon, it
restores the window.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. enable system borders in chromium
2. make chromium maximized
3. close chromium
4. reopen chromium
5. chromium in maximized state and size but kwin does not show restore icon

[kwin] [Bug 449975] Desktop background can be seen while alt+tab-ing between maximized windows

2022-02-11 Thread Albert Astals Cid
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449975

--- Comment #8 from Albert Astals Cid ---
I'm not sure it's a regression, this may have been happening for a while, just
the new wallpaper is much more intense so seeing it is much more distracting.

On Matrix we tracked it to the "highlight window" effect

Vlad said

if you switch from window A to B, the highlight window effect (enabled by
"show selected window" in system settings) will start two animations
A: opacity goes from 1 to 0
B: opacity goes from 0 to 1
so desktop background can sneak through

And suggested that maybe the highlight window effect could start 0 -> 1
animation first and delay 1 -> 0 animation

I'll try to see if i can make that happen and test it myself, though the code
in
https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/blob/master/src/effects/highlightwindow/highlightwindow.cpp
is not as easy to understand as i'd like ^_^

the Krita configuration file:1. Open Notepad2. Inside Notepad, select "File ->

can just remove these two lines and savethe file. This should cause Krita to

automatically hides itself when you only have one virtual desktop, because in

only have one Virtual Desktop, so everything is as designed. It will appear

First stab at "code importing wizard C#: Windows Forms classes are not
imported"

umbrello/codeimport/csharp/csharpimport.cpp
- Simplify function isClassModifier.
- In function isCommonModifier,
  - simplify such that each keyword is looked at only once;
  - add missing modifiers "readonly", "volatile", "virtual", "override",
   "unsafe", "extern", "partial", "async".

This is just enough to get the classes imported but there remain plenty
of details to straighten out.

I just tried it. `plasmashell --replace` seems to the issue mostly. After
`plasmashell --replace` I end up in a state where the wallpaper is shown
correctly initially until I either click on it or move the mouse to another
screen, then it is displayed "scaled twice" again. This persists until I change
virtual desktops at least once, then the wallpaper remains displayed correctly.

> 2. What kind of GPU do you have?

Intel 620 in the laptop, plus the Thunderbolt dock the external monitor is
attached to.

> 3. Is this a regression from Plasma 5.23?

No. I first reported this with 5.23.2, it's persisted since then. See comment 4
for the original system information, back then I had forgotten to put it in the
original post.

[tellico] [Bug 450051] New: user interface improvement: update entry

2022-02-11 Thread Jessica
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=450051

Bug ID: 450051
Summary: user interface improvement: update entry
   Product: tellico
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Microsoft Windows
OS: Microsoft Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: ro...@periapsis.org
  Reporter: jess.jones.unitedking...@protonmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

I would like to request a small user interface improvement for the "update
entry" menu item when right clicking an entry.
In the current version of tellico, when you select a source to use for updating
the entry, there is not indicated to the user if:

* NO UPDATE happened: the chosen source has information for the entry but there
is no updated information available (the information in tellico is the same as
in the chosen source)
* UPDATE happened: the chosen source has updated information for the entry and
the entry was updated
* NO UPDATE happened: the chosen source doesn't have the entry information at
all

I suggest to add a simple message box that appears after updating the entry,
that displays one of the 3 options above.
In this way the user knows what happened.

When the user has chosen "All sources", a message box should appear that tells
which source was used to update the entry or (if no update found) a message box
that tells the entry was not updated (because no source was found having
updated information for the entry).

If you select the game Klotski for example, I also can't play the videos in
the "videos" section.
Should tellico play videos inside the window?
I have an error there: JavaScript can't be executed.
But clicking the video link opens a webbrowser and there the video plays
correctly.

2022-02-11 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=450050

Bug ID: 450050
Summary: Desktop functionality degrades after a notification
can't be shown (DBus connection instability?)
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.23.5
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: torokat...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY

>From time to time, when Firefox tries to show a desktop notification about an
incoming email in an open GMail tab, it is unable to do so, and instead, gets
locked up for several seconds; then either crashes, or causes the whole desktop
to enter a strangely degraded state.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Have GMail open in a Firefox tab
2. Receive a desktop notification about an incoming email
3. Repeat sufficiently many times in different conditions - it does not occur
every time

I think GMail is most likely not relevant, and any "Notification API Tester"
application could potentially trigger this.
Maybe Firefox isn't important either
I just happen to always have this happen in these circumstances - and I noticed
the correlation because my phone also pops up the notification at the exact
same time these freezes happen.

OBSERVED RESULT

Firefox is unable to show the desktop notification, instead, becomes completely
unresponsive for several seconds, and sometimes crashes after a while. If it
doesn't, these effects (the degraded state) come into play:

 - Notifications about any further incoming mail are not shown as the usual
notification popup, instead, as a fallback within Firefox (I suppose) - in
proper popup windows, with frames and taskbar entries, and with completely
different appearance than my system theme, and in random positions on the
screen, with a Firefox icon.
- System tray icons for applications (such as Discord, Steam, KTorrent) are no
longer responding to selecting any item of their context menus; nor does the
set of visible icons change anymore when I open or close applications that
normally have icons in the system tray.
- The Shut Down/Restart/Sleep options in the Application Launcher no longer do
anything.
- The volume up/down keys on my keyboard no longer do anything.
- The panel otherwise remains mostly operational: switching between windows
works, the list of windows is up to date, launching applications from the panel
works, and interacting with other widgets and non-application icons on the
system tray are also operational, such as those for volume adjustment or
network management.

EXPECTED RESULT

All notifications from all applications are shown normally, and no element of
the degraded state described above is ever realized.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux: Fedora 35 KDE
KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.90.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Not much at the moment, but I am happy to provide any logs or config files when
instructed on how to make or retrieve them.
I have a habit of running plasmashell from a terminal window, so that I can
quickly kill and restart it in case this happens again, and I used to see some
DBus-related error messages in the degraded state - also, the missing
interactivity between applications hints at maybe the server crashing, or
plasma's connection being dropped?

This bug report is too confusing as it has been used for many different things;
let's track the issue of settings being reset after login/suspend when *not*
using a custom script with Bug 435113.

2022-02-11 Thread Jessica
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=450043

In addition there could also be added a button "open template" to edit an
existing template, which was saved in the past (by using the "save template"
button)

By adding those 3 buttons, users can easily make their own templates by
creating "new template", "open template" or "save template" for a template.

That is extremely strange.

Can you try to pinpoint which kind of theme change causes it? For example:
1. Does it happen when your Plasma style is set to "Breeze" and you switch
between the "Breeze Light" and "Breeze Dark" color schemes?
2. Does it happen when you switch between the "Breeze Light" and "Breeze Dark

very logically.

Maybe for my feature request, there could be a new menuitem added in the right
click menu of an entry (edit, duplicate, ...) that's called "open file" or
"open attachment" that opens the book file. It's disabled (greyed out) when no
file has been set for the entry.

  Target Milestone: ---

In the current version of Tellico, there is a "new entry" button in the "edit
entry" window, that appears when right clicking an entry to edit it. This is
really confusing for users. When being in the edit entry window, there should
not be an option to create a new entry.

I suggest user interface improvement :

* removing the "new entry" button from the "edit entry" window
* adding a new right click menu, that appears when right clicking the list of
entries (in an empty area of the window) and that contains a "new entry"
menuitem (same functionality that was removed in "edit entry" above)

This removes all confusion and also lets you add a new entry without going to
"collection" -> "add entry" -> "new entry".
It's faster and more logically.

For a book collection, I would like to request the possibility to add an
attachment or file to an entry.
This could be the PDF, EPUB, ... file of the book. Tellico should save the file
path in the collection and when double clicking the entry, the file should be
opened (by the associated program for that file type)

The file could be chosen in the "edit entry" window, when there is a new
tabpage "file" or "attachment" made to select the book file on your computer.

[baloo-widgets] [Bug 450006] KEditTagsDialog: Cannot check multiple tags in one go (02/2022)

2022-02-11 Thread bugzilla_noreply

Created attachment 146601
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=146601=edit
Tag Dialog as presented when using the F11 Info Panel

Try this as a workround:

Highlight your file and press F11 to get the information panel.

There you'll see options "Tags:", "Rating:", "Comment:". Click on the "Add..."
for tags, you'll get a dialog showing "known tags" that you can check (and
uncheck) as you wish and, when done, save.

I find this dialog good for selecting a collection of existing tags, a bit more
fiddly if you want to create new ones.

The text will now elide rather than getting cut off with Elisa 21.12.3. Further
improvements will require fixing Bug 450041, so I will mark this as a duplicate
of that.

Git commit 7bed984da15a2fdb12b5a8dc3a4cb337b9ffb980 by Nate Graham.
Committed on 11/02/2022 at 21:01.
Pushed by ngraham into branch 'release/21.12'.

SettingsForm: Fill width with long UI controls

This way when the screen is narrow on mobile phones, the text elides
rather than being cut off.
