Apt gives you that message in a context where it makes sense; you're already in a terminal window, so asking you to run commands is something you'll be accustomed to do. Ideally the user would never see this at all, but sadly apt is deficient in a number of ways and it will happen. The only way to prevent it would be to use a better package management system, (or more precisely, a better distro). If it has to happen, it would be good if Discover can handle the error condition and offer to fix it automatically, using plan human language rather than technical jargon. Hopefully that's possible based on what we get from PackageKit. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427861 Miguel Guthridge changed: What|Removed |Added CC||h...@outlook.com.au --- Comment #70 from Miguel Guthridge --- I've got this bug, running X11. My external displays are connected using a dock that uses DisplayLink, but the issue only occurs for one of the two displays. Often, only the wallpaper is missing, and can be fixed by choosing it again in the settings (the settings window thinks the wallpaper is already selected, and thus I need to deselect and reselect in order to apply the settings) But on a few occasions, it resets entirely, although my Latte Dock still displays on that monitor correctly. On one occasion, my wallpaper was deleted entirely, so I couldn't choose it in the settings, although it still displayed as the background for my other monitors (but was missing from their picker windows too) - when I next restarted, it was missing on all displays, and I only got it back by reinstalling the theme that provided the wallpaper. In all cases, the replacement wallpaper is not the default wallpaper, but a black screen, leading me to believe that it could be a different bug. Interestingly enough, in KRunner itself is is much farther down, at position #10! There does seem to be something a bit off about the weightings for this case. I imagine Info Center is first because it has an exact string match in its description, which is probably reasonable, because "About this system" has a match, but with the words in a different order. So that probably should have lower weighting. However the other items seem to get bumped up because they have a partial substring match in their names. [kate] [Bug 442739] Python script stopped Kate
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=442739 --- Comment #16 from Waqar Ahmed --- Here are the steps. You will need git, cmake, make, gcc or clang compiler, extra-cmake-modules package sudo pacman -S git gcc g++ cmake make extra-cmake-modules git clone https://invent.kde.org/utilities/kate mkdir build && cd build cmake .. && make -j8 QT_PLUGIN_PATH=.bin/ ./bin/kate -n . That should be it I think. This will be a local build i.e., won't interfere with the system one but will reuse the same settings. the last command should start up kate. The "QT_PLUGIN_PATH=./bin" env var is important as it will load the newly built plugins in the "bin" subdir and not your system Kate's plugins which can be confusing. Thanks for the article. I saw you were looking for something like AlignTab. That should actually be not that hard to implement via scripts. In fact, all our indenters are written in scripts. [krita] [Bug 451912] New: Crash when smart patch tool used in EXR HDR layer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=451912 Bug ID: 451912 Summary: Crash when smart patch tool used in EXR HDR layer Product: krita Version: 5.0.2 Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: HDR Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: yurinikola...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY GDB Backtrace: #0 0x75a0134c in __pthread_kill_implementation () at /usr/lib/libc.so.6 #1 0x759b44b8 in raise () at /usr/lib/libc.so.6 #2 0x7599e534 in abort () at /usr/lib/libc.so.6 #3 0x7fffa43e8f7a in () at /usr/lib/kritaplugins/kritatoolSmartPatch.so #4 0x7fffa43ef06f in () at /usr/lib/kritaplugins/kritatoolSmartPatch.so #5 0x7fffa43eaa39 in () at /usr/lib/kritaplugins/kritatoolSmartPatch.so #6 0x773aed4c in KisTransactionBasedCommand::redo() () at /usr/lib/libkritaimage.so.17 #7 0x77439087 in KisStrokeStrategyUndoCommandBased::doStrokeCallback(KisStrokeJobData*) () at /usr/lib/libkritaimage.so.17 #8 0x773496a4 in () at /usr/lib/libkritaimage.so.17 #9 0x75ea5aa2 in () at /usr/lib/libQt5Core.so.5 #10 0x75ea18cc in () at /usr/lib/libQt5Core.so.5 #11 0x759ff5c2 in start_thread () at /usr/lib/libc.so.6 #12 0x75a84584 in clone () at /usr/lib/libc.so.6 STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open EXR with 32-bit float/channel RGB/Alpha colour space and sRGB-elle-v2-g10 profile. This is the one i was testing on Krita: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GiXmsfYesfI3wSQN3wVJU_dg-LF0W3WH/view?usp=sharing 2. Add another layer filled with black behind it, purely to make viewing easier 3. Select smart patch tool. Not sure if area matters but i was testing a small brush size on the little white dot on the image's upper part. Trying to use it makes the program crash, sometimes on the first try, sometimes after 2-3 uses of the tool. OBSERVED RESULT Program crashed, closing immediately on normal usage (repeated three times) and freezing forever while running through Gdb. EXPECTED RESULT Smart patch to behave in EXR files as it does with "normal" images SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Using Xfce Qt Version: 5.15.3 Krita version 5.0.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Terminal output when opening Krita: Set style "breeze" Invalid profile : "/usr/share/color/icc/colord/Crayons.icc" "Crayon Colors" Invalid profile : "/usr/share/color/icc/colord/x11-colors.icc" "X11 Colors" Loading plugin "/usr/lib/kritaplugins/kritaseexprgenerator.so" failed, "Cannot load library /usr/lib/kritaplugins/kritaseexprgenerator.so: (libKSeExprUI.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)" QObject::startTimer: Timers cannot have negative intervals /usr/lib/krita-python-libs/krita added to PYTHONPATH -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
