[kwin] [Bug 450911] Very soon or later i always suddenly loose control over the touchpad
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=450911 --- Comment #22 from PK --- I installed Windows 10 on the Surface and looked if there were updates. And indeed there were: even four firmware-upgrades (one 2016 and three 2019). I was under the impression that I already did this but it turned out I was wrong. After this action I put Kubuntu back and the problem is solved for 97%! When the cursor starts doing strange, and that happens no more than one time per session but very often not at all, I can bring the cursor to life again by moving with my finger over the touch-screen. The result is very workable. I have good hope for plasma 5.25. I will come back here when I have tried that. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[xdg-desktop-portal-kde] [Bug 453641] New: Pipewire capture node attributes could use more information
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453641 Bug ID: 453641 Summary: Pipewire capture node attributes could use more information Product: xdg-desktop-portal-kde Version: 5.24.5 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: winbloc...@gmx.de CC: aleix...@kde.org, jgrul...@redhat.com, n...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY In a pipewire video capture session the node as returned by "pw-cli ls Node" could benefit from additional information. For example if i want to match a "Stream/Output/Audio" node to a "Stream/Output/Video" node from a window capture there is not enough information. The current "Stream/Output/Video" node (window capture) returned by "pw-cli ls Node" looks like this: id 65, type PipeWire:Interface:Node/3 object.serial = "769" client.id = "177" node.name = "kwin_wayland" media.class = "Stream/Output/Video" >From looking at other nodes listed on my system there should be additional properties like node.nick and node.description that could be used. My proposal is to change the provided info so that the application name is provided instead of "kwin_wayland" for window capture nodes. An optional extension of this proposal would be to provide more information like screen name (ex. wayland-0) or monitor name for screen capture nodes. Sidenote: node.nick takes precedence in applications like helvum so providing the window title / application name there would be preferred if name and nick are both used. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Start a pipewire video capture 2. Run "pw-cli ls Node" through terminal SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Manjaro Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.93.0 Qt Version: 5.15.3 Kernel Version: 5.17.6-1-MANJARO (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 32 × AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16-Core Processor Memory: 31.3 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Maybe there is an option in configuration of sqlite which limits size of log file, if so then would be nice to set it. > As for the notification, the default plasma setup notifies on low space on > any hard drive. Yes, and thanks that I found out about the problem. As I said I got 0 free space on /home. I had to do investigation to find out what took so much space in my home partition. [kwin] [Bug 453638] New: Starting Wayland session loops back to user selection screen and blocks starting any further session
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453638 Bug ID: 453638 Summary: Starting Wayland session loops back to user selection screen and blocks starting any further session Product: kwin Version: 5.24.5 Platform: Neon Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: wayland-generic Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: eridanired...@yahoo.com.mx Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY *** In the user selection screen, if I pick Wayland, it won't start, it will instead proceed to a black screen and show the cursor before going back to the user selection screen after a minute or so. Then, after trying to start a Wayland session, it is no longer possible to start any kind of graphic session any more, since the x11 session starts showing the same loopy behaviour until rebooting. I tested with my regular session and with 2 newly created users (regular and administration types), without any appreciable difference between the 3. *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. [kid3] [Bug 451787] Edit chapters in MP4/AAC files
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=451787 --- Comment #11 from Urs Fleisch --- I now have found m4b files containing chapters which can be read with libmp4v2. It returns a list of duration/title pairs and they seem to contain the same information which can be displayed using mediainfo. mediainfo shows a bit more information, but probably these list of durations and titles should be sufficient. libmp4v2 can read QuickTime and Nero formats, but the files I found have only QuickTime chapters, so I suppose supporting this type should be enough. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[okular] [Bug 453614] Highlighter Annotation not readable
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453614 --- Comment #2 from Ian Proudler --- Created attachment 148715 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=148715=edit GIF showing atempt to annotate a pdf document The GIF file shows me attempting to annotate a pdf document. I first select the 'Yellow Highlighter' button and then highlight some words. Next I double-click (several times) on the highlighted text (to open up the text box). This does not work. I then double click on the extreme left-hand side of the highlighted text and the text box appears, I type the word "test" and close the text box. I move the cursor over the highlighted text expecting to see a pop-up showing me the annotated text. This does not happen. Double-click on the highlighted text. All that happens is the underlying words get selected. I right-click on the highlighted text (to get the options menu). I get an options menu related to the underlying text. Finally I go to the annotation sidebar and can open the annotation text box and delete it. If I open the annotated document in Gnome Document Viewer (Evince) very thing is as I would expect. > Comment #1 from Albert Astals Cid --- >> There should be an option to delete annotation using left-hand mouse button. > This has never existed, unless you mean right mouse button, and the option is still there. [plasmashell] [Bug 453636] New: Sometimes notifications doesn't open from the "Show hidden icons" popup
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453636 Bug ID: 453636 Summary: Sometimes notifications doesn't open from the "Show hidden icons" popup Product: plasmashell Version: 5.24.5 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Notifications Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: liubomi...@gmail.com CC: k...@privat.broulik.de Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY Sometimes notifications doesn't open from the "Show hidden icons" popup. Probably it happens if I open the notification bell icon and then close it, causing the bell icon to be lost as I've supposedly seen the notifications (but not cleared them yet). So if then I show the hidden icons popup and click the Notifications icon inside it, it doesn't show the notifications. And `journalctl --follow` doesn't show any errors too. Nothing at all. OBSERVED RESULT Notifications button inside hidden icons popup doesn't work. EXPECTED RESULT Notifications button inside hidden icons popup should show notifications if they were not cleared but are already seen. [filelight] [Bug 453329] Filelight is ignoring large many files such as VIrtualBox VDI files on WIndows
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453329 --- Comment #7 from Twisted Lucidity --- That does seem to be working better, but there is still a large discrepancy of >From the overview it shows me ~571.2Gb used for c: and when I go into that drive, it shows 539.6Gb in use (most of which are my VMs, at least those are getting picked up), but being 5-6% off on size seems...odd. The folders withing c: all seem to report correctly as far as I can tell, so I am not sure where the extrta ~31Gb is coming from. I also see one discrepancy between FIelight and Windows explorer. Filelight reports 8.8Gb for c:\Program Files, but Explorer only 5Gb. This would seem to be relaed to permissions as Explorer won't tell me the size of c:\Program Files\WindowsApps without elevation. Which raises the question, how can Filelight report on the size when Explorer can't? Still, the large files I logged the bug about are being picked up and that is the important thing. Thanks for the effort in resolving! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
