2022-05-10 Thread PK
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=450911

I installed Windows 10 on the Surface and looked if there were updates. And
indeed there were: even four firmware-upgrades (one 2016 and three 2019). I was
under the impression that I already did this but it turned out I was wrong.
After this action I put Kubuntu back and the problem is solved for 97%!
When the cursor starts doing strange, and that happens no more than one time
per session but very often not at all, I can bring the cursor to life again by
moving with my finger over the touch-screen.
The result is very workable.
I have good hope for plasma 5.25. I will come back here when I have tried that.

[kdenlive] [Bug 453644] New: Can't add or remove effects from favorites

2022-05-10 Thread Eric Jiang
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453644

Bug ID: 453644
Summary: Can't add or remove effects from favorites
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: git-master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: User Interface
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: erji...@alumni.iu.edu
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

Can't Favorite on Unfavorite effects.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Right click an effect that is not a favorite and choose "Add to Favorites"
2. Look in Favorites list

OBSERVED RESULT

Effect is not added to the favorites list

EXPECTED RESULT

Effect should be added to favorites list, and user should be able to remove
effects already in the list

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Ubuntu 20.04.4 running Kdenlive git master

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

With git master I'm seeing the treeless effect list, and adding a favorite
stops early in EffectTreeModel::setFavorite because of the check:

if (isEffect && item->depth() == 1) { return; }

isEffect is true, so item->depth() must be 1.

The bug is because the audio in the demo file is not centered at zero. Looks
like Kdenlive shows audio amplitude as `max(highest_value, -lowest_value)` but
it would need to instead calculate the value range within each time window.
Otherwise a silent audio track that's not centered at zero will look like a
non-silent track.

***

On login, the background image from the current theme is missing, presenting a
black screen instead. And I can't right click the background to bring up the
context menu. This happens if I'm using an external monitor with my laptop
monitor disabled. If I set the monitors to mirror each other, I start with a
black screen, but the right click works, and after right clicking, I see the
background image.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use the default theme that comes with Manjaro Pahvo
2. Use an external monitor with a laptop, with the laptop screen disabled
3. Login
4. Right click on background

OBSERVED RESULT

Nothing happens upon right click of the desktop background, and the background
doesn't show any images from the selected theme.

EXPECTED RESULT

A right click would bring up a context menu.

I built Elisa from source to test, and I can confirm that the cover art for
tracks not part of albums now displays correctly instead of displaying the
green placeholder CD icon it used before.

[kwin] [Bug 453642] New: Multiple monitors reset configuration and mirror screens after sleep

2022-05-10 Thread Isaac
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453642

Bug ID: 453642
Summary: Multiple monitors reset configuration and mirror
screens after sleep
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.24.5
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: wayland-generic
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: isaaccurt...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 148721
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=148721=edit
qdbus org.kde.KWin /KWin supportInformation

SUMMARY
When having multiple monitors connected under a wayland session, after the
screens time out, the monitor configuration resets. Both monitors will be
mirrored instead of extended, and the framerate will be set to 60Hz instead of
144Hz.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Setup two 1440p monitors at 144Hz, connected via displayport. Have one
directly to the right of the other.
2. Enable Screen Energy Savings under Power Management and allow screens to go
blank.
3. Wake up computer by touching the keyboard or mouse.
4. Observe that monitors are now mirrored instead of extended and that the
frame rate is now set to 60Hz.

OBSERVED RESULT
Monitors are now mirrors of each other with reduced framerate of 60Hz.

EXPECTED RESULT
After waking up, the monitors should retain the configuration setup previously.

[xdg-desktop-portal-kde] [Bug 453641] New: Pipewire capture node attributes could use more information

2022-05-10 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453641

Bug ID: 453641
Summary: Pipewire capture node attributes could use more
information
   Product: xdg-desktop-portal-kde
   Version: 5.24.5
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: winbloc...@gmx.de
CC: aleix...@kde.org, jgrul...@redhat.com, n...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
In a pipewire video capture session the node as returned by "pw-cli ls Node"
could benefit from additional information. For example if i want to match a
"Stream/Output/Audio" node to a "Stream/Output/Video" node from a window
capture there is not enough information. The current "Stream/Output/Video" node
(window capture) returned by "pw-cli ls Node" looks like this:

id 65, type PipeWire:Interface:Node/3
object.serial = "769"
client.id = "177"
node.name = "kwin_wayland"
media.class = "Stream/Output/Video"

>From looking at other nodes listed on my system there should be additional
properties like node.nick and node.description that could be used. My proposal
is to change the provided info so that the application name is provided instead
of "kwin_wayland" for window capture nodes. An optional extension of this
proposal would be to provide more information like screen name (ex. wayland-0)
or monitor name for screen capture nodes.
Sidenote: node.nick takes precedence in applications like helvum so providing
the window title / application name there would be preferred if name and nick
are both used.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start a pipewire video capture
2. Run "pw-cli ls Node" through terminal

Never should grow that much, but in fact I met such huge file, what described.
Maybe there is an option in configuration of sqlite which limits size of log
file, if so then would be nice to set it.

> As for the notification, the default plasma setup notifies on low space on
> any hard drive.
Yes, and thanks that I found out about the problem. As I said I got 0 free
space on /home. I had to do investigation to find out what took so much space
in my home partition. Very helpful was Filelight.
Saying about notification I meant watching side of mentioned file, but if is
possible to limits this file in different way then of course this is not
necessary.

[plasma-pa] [Bug 453583] Waydroid Audio Not Recognized

2022-05-10 Thread Nicolas Fella
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453583

The name shown in the applet comes directly from PulseAudio/PipeWire:
application.name = "ALSA plug-in [writer]"

Please report that to Waydroid, it should send a better name to the audio
server. However that is purely cosmetic.

> What's weird, however, is that it believes Session Desktop Appimage is what's
> outputting the audio. It gives me the volume symbol on the desktop icon, and
> if I hover over the Session icon, I can adjust Waydroid's volume.

That sounds like https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=438565, and is unrelated
to the aforementioned issue

Output of `coredumpctl dump kwin_wayland` after reboot

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Attached the output of `coredumpctl dump kwin_wayland` as suggested by this
tread in KDE's subreddit:

[kwin] [Bug 453638] New: Starting Wayland session loops back to user selection screen and blocks starting any further session

2022-05-10 Thread Eridani Rodríguez
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453638

Bug ID: 453638
Summary: Starting Wayland session loops back to user selection
screen and blocks starting any further session
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.24.5
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: wayland-generic
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: eridanired...@yahoo.com.mx
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
***
In the user selection screen, if I pick Wayland, it won't start, it will
instead proceed to a black screen and show the cursor before going back to the
user selection screen after a minute or so.

Then, after trying to start a Wayland session, it is no longer possible to
start any kind of graphic session any more, since the x11 session starts
showing the same loopy behaviour until rebooting.

I tested with my regular session and with 2 newly created users (regular and
administration types), without any appreciable difference between the 3.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Get to the login screen
2. Select Wayland session
3. Try to log in.

OBSERVED RESULT
Session won't start, and the user selection screen will be shown again after a
few moments.

EXPECTED RESULT
It should properly login.

changing to pure domain name (the way i usually login to my cloud) did not
help.

yeah, the listview is responsible for managing the fake "focus" of its items,

I get the same thing, but I'm not using wayland. It looks like it is only with
a couple of the links. So like from the search page, you click on the square
made of dots (i don't know what you call that). Click on MAPS, it fails to load
page. Gmail will also fail, but Drive and Calendar work just fine.

Hmm, we have `focusPolicy: Qt.NoFocus` set on our menu separator item, but this
doesn't seem to prevent it from getting keyboard focus. I wonder if the issue
is in our implementation of the ListView that underpins the Menu itself.

2022-05-10 Thread Lyubomir
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=446756

I have no idea what program shows the popup in
https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=144410... I think it is plasmashell.
I've uninstalled kmix cause when i searched for kmix it didn't open its window
no matter how many times i selected it in the Application Launcher. I still
haven't rebooted but there is no change after uninstalling it, everything works
the same broken way.

2022-05-10 Thread Dimitri
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453216

Hi Jack,
I played changing theme in the system. It did not help.
The only issue is that I don't have access to the list of choice for Shell (see
screenshot).
I tried to install the Gnome Shell extension but it did not work as my upgrade
to ubuntu 22.04 failed removing obsolete kernel and I can't install software
anymore. Waiting for comunity to fix this issue before going forward...

[kid3] [Bug 451787] Edit chapters in MP4/AAC files

2022-05-10 Thread Urs Fleisch
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=451787

I now have found m4b files containing chapters which can be read with libmp4v2.
It returns a list of duration/title pairs and they seem to contain the same
information which can be displayed using mediainfo. mediainfo shows a bit more
information, but probably these list of durations and titles should be
sufficient. libmp4v2 can read QuickTime and Nero formats, but the files I found
have only QuickTime chapters, so I suppose supporting this type should be
enough.

Discover isn't installed as a Flatpak, so you run it with `plasma-discover`. To
get debug symbols, you'll need to use the `apt` package manager. Probably
something like `sudo apt install plasma-discover-backend-flatpak` or something
like that. It might be slightly different (I'm not so familiar with Kubuntu)

GIF showing atempt to annotate a pdf document

The GIF file shows me attempting to annotate a pdf document. I first select
the 'Yellow Highlighter' button and then highlight some words. Next I
double-click (several times) on the highlighted text (to open up the text box).
This does not work. I then double click on the extreme left-hand side of the
highlighted text and the text box appears, I type the word "test" and close the
text box. I move the cursor over the highlighted text expecting to see a pop-up
showing me the annotated text. This does not happen. Double-click on the
highlighted text. All that happens is the underlying words get selected. I
right-click on the highlighted text (to get the options menu). I get an
options menu related to the underlying text. Finally I go to the annotation
sidebar and can open the annotation text box and delete it.

If I open the annotated document in Gnome Document Viewer (Evince) very thing
is as I would expect.

> Comment #1 from Albert Astals Cid ---
>> There should be an option to delete annotation using left-hand mouse button.
> This has never existed, unless you mean right mouse button, and the option is
still there.
Sorry about that. I use a left-handed mouse and forgot to translate.

[plasmashell] [Bug 453636] New: Sometimes notifications doesn't open from the "Show hidden icons" popup

2022-05-10 Thread Lyubomir
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453636

Bug ID: 453636
Summary: Sometimes notifications doesn't open from the "Show
hidden icons" popup
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.24.5
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Notifications
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: liubomi...@gmail.com
CC: k...@privat.broulik.de
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
Sometimes notifications doesn't open from the "Show hidden icons" popup.
Probably it happens if I open the notification bell icon and then close it,
causing the bell icon to be lost as I've supposedly seen the notifications (but
not cleared them yet). So if then I show the hidden icons popup and click the
Notifications icon inside it, it doesn't show the notifications. And
`journalctl --follow` doesn't show any errors too. Nothing at all.

OBSERVED RESULT
Notifications button inside hidden icons popup doesn't work.

EXPECTED RESULT
Notifications button inside hidden icons popup should show notifications if
they were not cleared but are already seen.

Pushed by zamundaaa into branch 'master'.

backends/drm: add fallback for missing gbm modifier support

It can happen that a gbm implementation does not support modifiers, while
the drm driver does. To prevent that from breaking KWin, fall back to creating
a gbm surface without modifiers when creating one with modifiers fails.

I tested this on both the 5.1.0 nightly build and the current 5.0.6 build.

On 5.1.0 the tool doesn't work, neither on multiply blending mode or normal
blending mode.
On 5.0.6 it works as it should.

I tested this by applying the tool in 5.1.0, then uninstalling krita and
re-installing 5.0.6, then applying the tool again.
The attached videos are from these instances.

Git commit 6790b66cf304f339b32f215b5f7db7f596dd0466 by Nate Graham, on behalf
of Kai Uwe Broulik.
Committed on 10/05/2022 at 17:18.
Pushed by ngraham into branch 'master'.

[Global Menu] Fix breakage caused by variant type change

`void *` casts into anything but `QVariant::value()` (most of the time)
does a metatype check which needs to match.

Also, we need to unwrap the `QPointer`.

[filelight] [Bug 453329] Filelight is ignoring large many files such as VIrtualBox VDI files on WIndows

2022-05-10 Thread Twisted Lucidity
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453329

That does seem to be working better, but there is still a large discrepancy of

>From the overview it shows me ~571.2Gb used for c: and when I go into that
drive, it shows 539.6Gb in use (most of which are my VMs, at least those are
getting picked up), but being 5-6% off on size seems...odd. The folders withing
c: all seem to report correctly as far as I can tell, so I am not sure where
the extrta ~31Gb is coming from.

I also see one discrepancy between FIelight and Windows explorer. Filelight
reports 8.8Gb for c:\Program Files, but Explorer only 5Gb. This would seem to
be relaed to permissions as Explorer won't tell me the size of c:\Program
Files\WindowsApps without elevation. Which raises the question, how can
Filelight report on the size when Explorer can't?

Still, the large files I logged the bug about are being picked up and that is
the important thing.

Thanks for the effort in resolving!

[kstars] [Bug 453634] New: Ekos Crash on connect to Camera

2022-05-10 Thread BoFranklin
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453634

Bug ID: 453634
Summary: Ekos Crash on connect to Camera
   Product: kstars
   Version: 3.5.8
  Platform: Other
OS: Microsoft Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: mutla...@ikarustech.com
  Reporter: frnk...@aol.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 148712
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=148712=edit
Ekos screen before selecting Connect - then crash

SUMMARY
KStars/EKOS had been working fine with RPi4 via IndiGo server and LX200 (AdvGT5
) Mount/ASI 120MC Camera
Now it crashes every time I connect to the ASI 120 camera

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Restart RPi4, Start KStars, Start Ekos
2. Connect to Mount - ok - can GoTo any selected star
3. Connect to Camera - Kstars crashes just after putting up "Advanced" Tab
4. Turned on Ekos Logging
5. Log with crash always has :-
[2022-05-10T17:35:42.308 GMT Daylight Time DEBG ][
org.kde.kstars.indi] - Received new device ZWO ASI120MC-S #0
[2022-05-10T17:35:42.308 GMT Daylight Time WARN ][

org.kde.kstars.indi] - Received new device ZWO ASI120MC-S Guider #0

6. Crash only occurs if trying to connect to camera
- was fine for weeks until today I connected camera to ASI Studio to check
exposure settings
after this I reconnected to Rpi and restarted - Ekos now crashes on connect to
Camera
- after this it crashes on connect to Ekos unless I restart Rpi
- if I restart Rpi it crashes on camera connect
