[plasmashell] [Bug 453728] New: Wrong shortcut is displayed in misc category
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453728 Bug ID: 453728 Summary: Wrong shortcut is displayed in misc category Product: plasmashell Version: 5.24.5 Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Application Launcher (Kickoff) Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: thesource...@gmail.com CC: mikel5...@gmail.com, noaha...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 148787 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=148787&action=edit Kickoff menu with wrong shortcut SUMMARY Sometimes when I move mouse to misc category where I have only one shortcut for Superposition Benchmark, different shortcut is displayed instead. It seems that the shortcut displayed is random one from other shortcuts each time this bug happens. Clicking on that shortcut however launches correct application (Superposition benchmark in this case). STEPS TO REPRODUCE This happens randomly when I browse menu. It seems only to happen in categories which contain only one shortcut (misc and science in my case). It became more rare after I upgraded to Fedora 36 with plasmashell 5.24.5. On X11, I wonder if we could > hide the black flicker by using the new Blend effect. Do you think that > would be technically feasible? I'm not sure because as far as I understand reconfigure is kind of a soft reset for kwin, but it's worth investigating. If it's possible it would be a nice solution. [kwin] [Bug 451612] Kwin crashes in KWin::WindowThumbnailItem::updateOffscreenTexture() when switching applications
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=451612 --- Comment #21 from Diego Agulló --- Maybe it's a bit early to tell, but it happened again. [plasma-nm] [Bug 452948] connection with no internet causes Plasma-Desktop to freeze
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=452948 Usman changed: What|Removed |Added CC||studym...@tutanota.com --- Comment #2 from Usman --- I can confirm this (with 4G LTE USB modem / not wifi). I have limited bandwidth per day. So when the internet quota runs out, and I click disconnect (from plasma-nm), then more often than not the plasma freezes. If i disconnect the (no quota) internet from modem control panel (via browser 192.168.0.1) then no freeze. If i just unplug the usb modem from usb port, then no freeze. Maybe it's related to dns resolver, because with dnscrypt+dnsmasq the freeze time is much shorter compared to systemd-resolved. I don't see any clue from journalctl or journalctl -f. Yes, one can find detailed and nice information by click the 'Details' link on the right side of the page[1]. This page lists the link you mentioned. [systemsettings] [Bug 417615] Option to disable kdeconnect
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417615 --- Comment #13 from Forest --- Alternative workaround step 2, leaving system config files untouched: Copy /usr/share/dbus-1/services/org.kde.kdeconnect.service to ~/.local/share/dbus-1/services/ and change the Exec= line of the copy to Exec=/usr/bin/false When combined with step 1 of my workaround, this prevents kdeconnectd from launching in that user's sessions. [frameworks-baloo] [Bug 445065] Dolphin gets stuk when using Samba after the NAS falls asleep
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=445065 AT changed: What|Removed |Added CC||atmaho...@gmail.com --- Comment #4 from AT --- I think what I am experiencing may be the same thing. I am browsing a cifs mounted directory with Dolphin. I am currently doing some work where I am copying the paths of pdf files into a document. Occasionally when I right click a pdf with the intention to "Copy Location" the Dolphin window freezes. I have two Dolphin windows open, but only one is frozen. In System Monitor I see the two Dolphin processes, one indicating "disk sleep" under CPU% column. After a while it unfreezes, and if I'm not careful I've made some clicks on the frozen window which result in some abrupt changes (e.g accidentally opening a panel). I just tried the solution of `balooctl disable` and that seems to have solved it. I'm on Arch Linux with the latest kde versions. My cifs mount is to a fast SSD array over a 10Gbit interface. I have noticed this "disk sleep" freeze with the same setup, but browsing a folder of images with the info panel open. I was browsing images, and somehow coinciding with this "disk sleep" stuff after killing the dolphin process I ended up with `ls -la` showing a link count of ZERO for one of the files it got stuck on. Had to recover it from snapshot, not sure if related. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 453663] Application of "Window Rules" causes temporary blackness.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453663 --- Comment #2 from Ismael Asensio --- I suspect this has not to do with rules, but with kwin reconfiguration (which in turn has to be called for the new rules to take effect). Can you try `qdbus org.kde.KWin /KWin org.kde.KWin.reconfigure` to see if that's the case? [kate] [Bug 453715] New: Can't create shortcut for Show Sidebars
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453715 Bug ID: 453715 Summary: Can't create shortcut for Show Sidebars Product: kate Version: 22.04.0 Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: niv...@fastmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When I try to create a keyboard shortcut for "Show Sidebars", and I restart Kate, the keyboard has been erased. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Go to Settings > Configure Keyboard Shortcuts 2. Look for "Show Sidebars" 3. Add a new shortcut (or replace existing: Ctrl. Shift Alt F). 4. Test shortcut: it works. 5. Restart KDE. 6. Test shortcut: it does not work anymore. 7. Repeat steps 1-2: the shortcut no longer exists. OBSERVED RESULT The new shortcut no longer works nor exists. EXPECTED RESULT The new shortcut should remain. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Fedora Linux 36 KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.93.0 Qt Version: 5.15.3 Kernel Version: 5.17.6-300.fc36.x86_64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i7-9700 CPU @ 3.00GHz Memory: 30.7 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® UHD Graphics 630 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kwin] [Bug 453714] New: Hold down "Windows key" to keep Plasma Application menu open
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453714 Bug ID: 453714 Summary: Hold down "Windows key" to keep Plasma Application menu open Product: kwin Version: unspecified Platform: Neon Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: input Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: adrlop...@disroot.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY *** Frequently, when I open the Plasma Application menu with the "Windows key", I want to open other apps as well. I think that is more productive, time saver and better from user experience that holding down "Windows key" (or the equivalent) keeps the Plasma Application menu open until the key is released. This way, user can open an unlimited number of apps without having to open the menu again. *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Press "Windows key" (or the equivalent). 2. Choose an app OBSERVED RESULT If "Windows key" is pressed once, the menu closes after openning an app. If "Windows key" is hold down, the menu can be moved (?) without notice, but no app can be opened. EXPECTED RESULT If "Windows key" is hold down, the menu should allow many apps to be opened before closing. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: KDE neon 5.24 KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.93.0 Qt Version: 5.15.3 Kernel Version: 5.16.10-051610-generic (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor Memory: 31.2 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 580 Series ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
