[korganizer] [Bug 324592] REQUEST: implementation of copying reminders

2022-05-20 Thread Giuseppe Vinci

> - Right-click on empty space in the reminder list (if there is any).
> - Choose "Paste" from the pop-up menu.
> - Click "Modify" to modify the new reminder.

In the version 4.4.10 it was a "Duplicate" button between the "New / Add" and
"Remove" ones in the Reminder tab
As I look at the current Reminder tab, I see, there is place enough for adding
another button in the same manner - maybe between "New" and "Modify".
Reason for the button allocation:
The user add a complete new reminder (button "New") or duplicate an existent
one (button "Duplicate"). After that he/she maybe needs to edit some details in
the new added reminder (button "Modify").

kcm/rules: Use the new KCM namespace for standalone launch

After commit c1d0aa18, the namespace where the KCM is installed
changed to `plasma/kcms/systemsettings/`.

We need to point to this new plugin location when the KCM is
launched via Alt-F3 > "Window Specific Properties"

Also let's set the full plugin location from CMake instead of
harcoded in C++ so it is easier to keep it in sync.
FIXED-IN: 5.25.0

[xdg-desktop-portal-kde] [Bug 454128] New: Pipewire screen share restore does not restore after the next session

2022-05-20 Thread Samuel Reddy
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=454128

Bug ID: 454128
Summary: Pipewire screen share restore does not restore after
the next session
   Product: xdg-desktop-portal-kde
   Version: 5.23.90
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: samuelsumukhre...@gmail.com
CC: aleix...@kde.org, jgrul...@redhat.com, n...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
If you check the box for allowing restore for future sessions, it will not ask
you for the next session, but the session after that, it will ask you again to
share your screen. I tested using OBS Studio.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use an app the supports Pipewire screen capture(OBS Studio Wayland)
2. Share screen with the restore screen share checkbox checked
3. Close the app
4. Open the app
5. Close the app
6. Open the app
7. It asks you to share your screen again.

OBSERVED RESULT
Pipewire screen sharing only restores for one session, before asking you to
share the screen again.

EXPECTED RESULT
Pipewire screen sharing should be restored for every session.

[kde] [Bug 454081] Menus with multiple checkboxes close on first click

2022-05-20 Thread Alan Prescott
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=454081

(In reply to Felipe Kinoshita from comment #1)
> That usually how menus work in computer software, what's the expected
> behaviour in your opinion?

It may be how menus work, but not multiple checkboxes.
This is where having multiple checkboxes in a menu breaks the original menu
concept. Menus allow only single click but multiple checkboxes have to allow
for multiple clicks.

My server is running an older version of KDE/Plasma under openSUSE Leap and
allows me to select more than one checkbox at a time without closing the menu,
the menu only closes when I click outside the menu so, at one point, this
worked as I would like.

Hi Nathan,

Thanks for reporting this. Sorry for the delay in responding (thanks you to

I have the same issue on Fedora with my non-RPM build. It makes me strongly
suspect a bump in some dependency as the culprit. I noticed other things broke
at the same time, for instance MMS messages appear as single-target messages.

As for scrolling, your expected behavior is how it used to behave. If you click
your mouse on the background, are you able to "flick" to scroll up and down?
That works for me.

I have spent several hours debugging this and unfortunately have come up blank
so far. I'm likely not going to be able to devote much time to it for awhile.
If someone would like to help out, please simply downgrade dependencies (Qt
Quick Controls 2, kf5-kirigami, etc.) and see if you are able to get the issue
to go away.

I believe this wish has been granted.
In the sidebar Calendar Manager, right-click the calendar,
and select "Folder Properties...". On the dialog's General tab,
check off "Block reminders locally". You will have to
arrange to put work and home events in different calendars.

Does this meet your needs?

[kdeconnect] [Bug 447498] Minor issue, Android app says battery information not available

2022-05-20 Thread FeRD
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447498

FeRD (Frank Dana) changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||ferd...@gmail.com

--- Comment #4 from FeRD (Frank Dana) ---
(In reply to Mark de Wet from comment #0)
> At the bottom of the Android app, below the menu for send
> files etc it says "Status battery information not available. Is this a
> permission error or something else?

_That_ message, in the "Status" area at the bottom of the device details page
in the Android app, is actually related to the **paired** device that's
currently selected. Specifically, in this case, it would be the PC your phone
is paired with. The Android app is (correctly) reporting that it isn't able to
retrieve battery-level information from your Linux system.

So, it's normal that you'd see that message, and it's unrelated to KDE Connect
on your Linux system showing or not showing battery information for the phone.
As long as the battery plugin is enabled on the phone (from that same screen,
upper-right-corner menu, "Plugin settings", and then enable "Battery report"),
you *should* see battery data for it on the Linux side.

I don't know of any permission specific to reading the device's battery level,
but the permission that would be most likely to affect that is the "Phone"
permission. (Which also controls access to things like network signal levels,
etc.)

Additionally, you may need to go into your phone's preferences for the app
(Android's Settings > Apps > KDE Connect), tap "Battery", and set the mode to
at least "Optimized", possibly "Unrestricted", to ensure that the app is able
to provide battery (and other) data request. The more recent the Android
release, the more aggressively it will attempt to powersave the app, which can
sometimes interfere with its ability to handle network requests from the Linux
side.

  Target Milestone: ---

Apparently, detecting 5G network service[1] is more difficult than previous
levels. Many 5G devices will report their network connection as
TelephonyManager#NETWORK_TYPE_LTE. The actual state of 5G connectivity is only
accessible by using the new (Android 11+) TelephonyDisplayInfo[2] API, where an
"override" network type can be retrieved for display use.

[1]: https://developer.android.com/about/versions/11/features/5g#how-to-detect
[2]:
https://developer.android.com/reference/android/telephony/TelephonyDisplayInfo

Without access to that additional data, many US devices which provide 5G
service via enhanced LTE will be reported as having only 4G connectivity.

I reopened it because the video described something different from what I said.
The focus is not "translucent lines" but "translucent selection".

You can also reproduce it through another process:
1. Draw a translucent line
2.select opaque(replace)
3.use GMIC

There's another demo in the video (maybe you didn't see it, so I'll send it
again):

SUMMARY
- Kirigami Overlay Drawers do not close when the escape key is pressed.
explicitly adding the closePolicy does not seem to help either.
- Escape Key and closePolicy only works when setting the interactive property
explicitly to true in non mobile environment
- Interactive property of the overlay drawer seems to be set to false by
default on non mobile platforms or touch enabled platforms.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Sample Code:
- The overlay drawer has been given a closePolicy, but does not react to escape
key press unless interactive property is set to true

This was an issue in krita before the openGL optimization patch. The problem is
in that your are sending processing a 4k feed before sending it through airplay
causing the bottle neck and due to our non optimized code, the choppy lines.

Tested on krita 4.4.1
airplay from mbp 13 intel early 2015 -> M1, slight performance decrease
painting barely affected
airplay from mbp 13 intel early 2015 -> 4k TV, performance hit, no painting
possible, no chopy feed (this intel chip might not be able to process 4k)

The same tests on krita 5.0.6 did not affect painting much even when outputing
a 4k feed. some performace is lost but this is system wide.
The same tests from the M1 to the 4KTV did not affect painting and 4k feed was
smooth.

Im marking this bug as fixed

[KDE Itinerary] [Bug 443199] Feature Request: Integration with Öffi/Transportr

Nice!

Though, it has take I while for me to find the button (after activating the
developer mode) since I searched in the left menu only (near Scan and Paste).
Also, the UI looks strange on a small screen. See the attached screenshots.

(Also, just as a question that actually doesn't belong to this bug: Is there a
visual or haptic indication if a barcode was recognized by the builtin scanner
but not able to import to Itinerary?)

[dolphin] [Bug 453700] dolphin in detailed view open files and folders also if I click elsewhere on the line not only on the filename

2022-05-20 Thread Richard Ullger
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453700

Richard Ullger changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||rull...@protonmail.com

The change that is causing these issues is in my opinion a bad design decision.

I can no longer copy or cut a file and paste it using the context menu unless
the dolphin window contains empty space below the last file/directory. Where
the window is filled with a list of files or directories, the context menu when
clicked on a line that contains a file does not contain an option to paste the
file. When clicked on a line that contains a directory the option to paste is
there but the file is pasted into the directory on the clicked line instead of
the directory being viewed.

I can no longer drag and drop a file into an empty space in a dolphin window
that is filled with a list of directories. The file will be dropped into the
directory of the line where the mouse button is released instead of into the
directory being viewed. I have misplaced files several times because of this
until I realised what was happening.

I can no longer click on an empty space after a file name to deselect a file.
Doing so opens the file or enters the directory. More attention needs to be
paid to click to the left of the file or directory name to deselect it.

I can no longer click on the empty space after a file or directory name to
select the left or right pane when in split view. Doing so opens the file or
enters the directory on the line clicked.

All these in my opinion being regressions from previous versions making dolphin
annoying and more difficult to use.

[plasmashell] [Bug 454117] New: Button to view/remove copied files from clipboard item

2022-05-20 Thread Jack Hill
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=454117

Bug ID: 454117
Summary: Button to view/remove copied files from clipboard item
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.24.5
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Clipboard
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: jackhill3...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
For context: I was copying some files from my pc to phone. The copy process was
hanging so I cancelled it. It turned out the first few files had copied, so I
went to the clipboard to edit the history so that I could paste the remaining
files. Unfortunately I couldn't do this, and since the clipboard widget only
lists the names of the first five items I couldn't figure out which files
hadn't been copied. Then I had to try and remember the names of those files so
I could re-copy and paste.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Copy at least 6 files
2. Open clipboard widget
3. Try to find out what the 6th file is called
4. Try to remove some files from the last clipboard item

OBSERVED RESULT
Can't see the names of more than 5 files
Can't edit the clipboard item

EXPECTED RESULT
Should be able to see the names of all files
Should be able to edit the clipboard item to remove some of the files from
clipboard

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20220519
KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.94.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

Alvin found that quad-jpeg.tif was never tested as part of the standard tiff
test suite. This is probably because it's a legacy YCbCr, JPEG-compressed file.

Opening it manually in Krita reveals significant corruption, probably because
of the obviously mismatched codecs.

The thing is the c++ zipplugin could be used for any zip based archive, it is
just a metadata issue.

Screenshot of Desktop Client window

SUMMARY
I am using version 21.1203-903 of KDE Connect on a Windows desktop computer.
My mobile phone is a Google Pixel 4A.

All the Plugin Settings on the desktop client and the phone seem to be
available. In particular, the SMS send/receive on the client, and Send SMS on
the phone.

Various facilities are listed in the desktop screen (see attached screenshot).
However, there is no 'Send SMS' option. This, of course, is one of the most
useful features - being able to type messages on the computer rather than the
phone.

Is this a 'bug' in the software, or am I doing something silly? I am new to KDE
Connect and a user not a software engineer!

TO REPRODUCE
It is a consistent state.

OBSERVED RESULT
No option to start an SMS message

EXPECTED RESULT
Being able to send SMS messages

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 11 (64 bit)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
A screenshot showing the desktop client window.

2022-05-20 Thread David Edmundson
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=454108

It's in onPromptForSecret:

mainBlock.mainPasswordBox.text = "";

This happens after the key to wake the screen. Not sure how to fix nicely
neatly without breaking the hypothetical multi-prompt case. Worst case we can
just remove for now.

We have advanced nicer tooltips, so the default QWidget tooltip
automatically created from the role just duplicates this information
