[kio-extras] [Bug 454439] Could not rename partial file smb://file.part
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=454439 --- Comment #3 from Christopher "Owen" Owens --- This is now working for me with Kate; not sure what changed. However, neither Sublime nor LibreOffice Write work, they still show I/O errors on saving the file. This is no longer a critical bug for me; as such no further debugging / followup will be provided. Feel free to reproduce or close as needed. Thank you for your help in this. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[krita] [Bug 454960] Multiple local selection layers aren't saved
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=454960 Ahab Greybeard changed: What|Removed |Added CC||ahab.greybe...@hotmail.co.u ||k --- Comment #8 from Ahab Greybeard --- If no Global Selection Mask is active, a Local Selection Mask can be dragged to the bottom or top of the layer stack to become a Global Selection Mask. You can have a large number of Global Selection Masks but only one of them can be active. Similarly, you can have a large number of Local Selection Masks on a paint layer but only one of them can be active. You can drag a Global Selection Mask onto a paint layer where it will become a Local Selection Mask. If you Save then only one Global Selection Mask is preserved but all Local Selection Masks are saved. I store Selection Masks as Local Selection Masks attached to a 'storage layer' to preserve them. It would be useful if multiple Global Selection Masks could be saved and restored. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

So if I suddenly enable an event setting, I expect the list to resort itself, as suddenly channels now could have "new activity" (not really new, but wasn't visible before) STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Have the "see nick changes" setting turned off 2. Be in a room, whose last message is a few days old 3. Change your nick for that room a few times. 4. Enable the "see nick changes" setting. [plasmashell] [Bug 455039] New: Clipboard content cannot be pasted if the source of the content being copied/cut is closed (e.g by CTRL+Q quit or similar)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=455039 Bug ID: 455039 Summary: Clipboard content cannot be pasted if the source of the content being copied/cut is closed (e.g by CTRL+Q quit or similar) Product: plasmashell Version: 5.24.5 Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Clipboard Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: programmer.pesesoft+...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY The clipboard content, be it Text or Image (should also happen to file reference like copying a file from Dolphin), cannot be pasted if the application where the content comes from (be it from Copy or Cut) is closed, even if the content is listed on the popup menu. It however can still be pasted if we open the popup (Open Klipper at Mouse Position) and select the content, then paste. STEPS TO REPRODUCE # Text 1. Open KWrite 2. Open Kate 3. Write something, for example, "Hello World" into either KWrite or Kate, let's use Kate for simplicity 4. Select all the text and either Copy or Cut 5. Close Kate, if asked, discard/don't save the content 6. Go to/focus on KWrite 7. Try to paste the content (Right Click Paste or CTRL + V) # Image 1. Take a screenshot using spectacle, either by opening the app or through a keyboard shortcut 2. If opening the app or the shortcut is opening the spectacle dialog, save the content to the clipboard and close the spectacle 3. Try to paste the content to GIMP, Discord, Krita, or any program that accepts an image OBSERVED RESULT Nothing is being pasted, either by Context menu or Keyboard Shortcut, it can still be pasted by opening Klipper at the cursor position, selecting the first entry (which is the previously copied/cut content) and then trying to paste again either using Context Menu or Keyboard Shortcut EXPECTED RESULT The content should be still being pasted regardless if the source application is closed or not SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: - macOS: - Linux/KDE Plasma: Manjaro KDE KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.94.0 Qt Version: 5.15.4 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This is the recording of the bug https://streamable.com/tz5p9w -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I'm using zh_CN.UTF-8 as my locale. Not sure if this is due to the particular locale translation, or a general problem in the mechanism. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Hover mouse over any icon (of a running application) on the task manger 2. Look at the prompt OBSERVED RESULT The third line is shown as `%1(I18N_ARGUMENT_M`. See circled part in the attachment. [plasmashell] [Bug 455046] New: [Feature request] Allow users to set a preferred application for the Media Player widget
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=455046 Bug ID: 455046 Summary: [Feature request] Allow users to set a preferred application for the Media Player widget Product: plasmashell Version: 5.24.5 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Keywords: usability Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: Media Player Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: niko.nickm...@gmx.de CC: k...@privat.broulik.de Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 149560 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=149560&action=edit The screenshot shows KDE Connect being selected by default, even though there is no audio playback. The active music player is Clementine which has to be chosen manually every time it is re-opened. SUMMARY The Media Player Applet should allow the user to set a preferred application to always be selected by default when playback is detected. Scrolling the mouse wheel over the widget or pressing the middle mouse button to start/stop playing are at their core great features but functionally limited because the user does not know which application the Media Player Widget currently controls without expanding it. It can be tedious to have to expand the widget and select the preferred player manually to regain functionality of these mouse gestures. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open a media player and start playback 2. Open another program with playback capabilities and start playback 3. Expand the Media Player Widget OBSERVED RESULT The user has to set the preferred player in the widget each time the applications are closed and re-opened. There is a chance that it's selected automatically but the more applications are open at the same time, the less likely it is. EXPECTED RESULT The user should be able to mark one application to always be prioritized over others by the Media Player Widget. [NeoChat] [Bug 455048] New: Show non-message matrix events in the room list as message preview
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=455048 Bug ID: 455048 Summary: Show non-message matrix events in the room list as message preview Product: NeoChat Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: All Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: General Assignee: fe...@posteo.de Reporter: janbidle...@protonmail.com CC: c...@carlschwan.eu Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY NeoChat shows a preview of the latest message in the room list preview. It does not show a preview however for join/leave/nick/avatar events, which then gets a little confusing since the roomlist is sorted by that activity as well, making it not quite obvious, why room X is suddenly at the top. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Have the matrix events visibilty toggled ON in the NeoChat settings. 2. Join a room 3. Have another user of that room send a non-message matrix event (like joining that room as well, leaving it, changing nick etc.) OBSERVED RESULT The joined room will have its position updated in the room list to be at the top, but the message preview will now show the channel topic. EXPECTED RESULT A sentence describing the event should be shown as the message preview (i.e. if a user left the room " has left the room") SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: 10 21H1 Linux: Arch Linux NeoChat Version: 22.04 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.94.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 / 5.15.4 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=455051 Bug ID: 455051 Summary: First typed character doesn't go to password field Product: kscreenlocker Version: 5.24.90 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: kodyvonbar...@hotmail.com CC: bhus...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY In previous versions, when you locked the screen and would start typing the password, the characters you typed would all go into the password field. This was consistent with how SDDM worked and still works, creating a cohesive experience. In the new 5.24.90 version, the first typed character doesn't go to the password field, but just brings up the screen that contains the password field. This inconsistency between the login and the lock screen makes it easy for a user to mistype their password and second guess which procedure they should be using. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Lock screen, whether by shortcut or automatic timeout 2.
