Committed on 21/01/2023 at 06:50. Pushed by igorkushnir into branch 'master'. MIDebugJob: don't leak the debug session if config is invalid The constructor of a MI debug job creates a debug session. When the configured launch executable or its arguments are invalid, MIDebugJob doesn't call MIDebugSession::startDebugging() and finishes with an error. The debug session is not destroyed and the Debug area remains active in KDevelop then. Calling MIDebugSession::stopDebugger() finishes the debug session and lets DebugController destroy it. [kwin] [Bug 464582] New: NVIDIA completely freezing applications & desktop itself when VRAM is close to being filled
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=464582 Bug ID: 464582 Summary: NVIDIA completely freezing applications & desktop itself when VRAM is close to being filled Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: 5.26.90 Platform: Archlinux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: kodatar...@yahoo.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY *** Whenever the VRAM is close to being full(example: you are playing a high demanding title which almost always uses 99% of the VRAM 7955MB out of 8192MB) other applications like discord/spotify/web browser(firefox/chromium/chrome) would just completely hang, frozen window until you close and re-open it again. At least on NVIDIA gpu. *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Play a very demanding title which almost always goes on to fill your VRAM(Ready Or Not comes to mind), where it stays 99% being filled and have discord/web browser or any client in general opened on your second monitor or in the background. OBSERVED RESULT The application has completely frozen. EXPECTED RESULT To work just fine without freezing as on other desktop environments(tested Gnome, Cinnamon and Mate). SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: EndeavourOS KDE Plasma Version: 5.26.90 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.102.0 Qt Version: 5.15.8 Kernel Version: 6.1.7-273-tkg-pds (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D 8-Core Processor Memory: 31,3 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070/PCIe/SSE2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Just wanted to write down that this bug is observed under both X11 and Wayland, with wayland making the entire session unresponsive until you close out the game/app which consumes so much VRAM. In addition this seems to happen only with NVIDIA, as I am unable to reproduce it with AMD card. It has been happening for quite sometime now, which I thought it was an issue that the VRAM can't take it, however after trying other Desktop Environments it seems the problem lies with KDE Plasma(X11/Wayland). NOTE: This issue isn't limited to 5.26.90, I am only reporting it just now, but it has been present in all versions, so it isn't a 5.27 Beta bug. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasma-nm] [Bug 464214] Some of the Wireless network details are wrong
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=464214 --- Comment #6 from John --- OK, seeing that the connection speed seems to match the "Bit Rate", I tried to find out if I can change either the bit rate or the transmission power manually to see if the bit rate in Network Manager changes. The defaults for the active connection can be seen with this command: sudo iwconfig wlan0 Which in my case gives: Bit Rate=6 Mbit/s Tx-Power=30 dBm It seems that changing the bit rate is impossible no matter why I try and this answer here seems to confirm that changing the bit rate on a Qualcomm atheros chipset, like I have, even though it's not exactly the same mode, it's impossible: https://superuser.com/a/1271812 But doing the following commands: sudo ifconfig wlan0 down sudo iwconfig wlan0 txpower 20 sudo ifconfig wlan0 up Then checking the that transmission power changed sudo iwconfig wlan0 And repeat them, setting at each repeat the tx power to 15, 10, 5 and finally to 1 worked! While the receive rate in WaveMon shows even 433.3 Mb/s (the maximum for my access point) and less, the transmission rate doesn't budge from the 6 Mbit/s even though the different power levels were used and confirmed by both iwconfig and wavemon commands. The guy in the link above fixed it by upgrading the access point's firmware to the latest version, but mine it's already at the latest version and sow it's the firmware for my wireless adapter in my laptop that Debian uses. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[pulseaudio-qt] [Bug 464577] New: While watching YouTube music videos in Firefox, the audio volume level in the Audio Volume System Tray Applet changes to random values when a new video starts
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=464577 Bug ID: 464577 Summary: While watching YouTube music videos in Firefox, the audio volume level in the Audio Volume System Tray Applet changes to random values when a new video starts Classification: Plasma Product: pulseaudio-qt Version: unspecified Platform: Neon OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: nicolas.fe...@gmx.de Reporter: bug.tester...@proton.me Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY While watching YouTube music videos in Firefox, the audio volume level in the Audio Volume System Tray Applet changes to random values when a new video starts. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Firefox. 2. Visit YouTube. 3. Start playing a music video. 4. Open the Audio Volume System Tray Icon (Applet? Plasmoid? Widget? - Not sure of the actual name of this thing). 5. Click on the Applications Tab. 6. Click on the Keep Open/Pin Button (the thumbtack/pushpin icon in the top right corner of the applet window) so the Audio Volume Applet stays open. 7. Click the next video button on the YouTube Video Player and let the video play for a few seconds. 8. Observe the volume level percentage. 9. Repeat steps 7 & 8 several times and notice the volume level percentage changes to a different random value almost every time you skip to the next video or the video changes on its own. OBSERVED RESULT When watching music videos on YouTube in Firefox, the volume level percentage changes to a different random volume level percentage on almost every change/skip to the next video and the change is visible in the Audio Volume System Tray Applet and also the change is auditorially (Actually hearing the music through your computer speakers with your ears) noticeable when 1 music video is playing and you manually increase the volume level percentage slider up to 100% in the Audio Volume System Tray Applet and then either skip to the next video or let the existing video finish playing and auto play the next video (when the next video starts, visually notice the change in the volume level percentage and also notice the difference in audio volume level by listening with your ears.) EXPECTED RESULT The audio volume level does not change at all and remains at what it was set to before. (Playing music videos on YouTube should not affect the volume level.) The screenshot of the channel on the playback screen can be a little > centered. Please refer to attached screenshot. This is a design decision: on KDE plasma the header bar blends in with the top window bar so it becomes one surface of the same colour. I agree it doesn't look that nice on windows. I'm working on a revamp of the header controls which would look everywhere. It should be in the next release. > Features Wishlist - Would be nice to have. > Please note this is just my personal opinion and not a demand for feature. [digikam] [Bug 393382] Add documentation section about the BQM custom shell scripts tool.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393382 --- Comment #9 from Maik Qualmann --- Two things, you already wrote it, but maybe a little more clearly, that a new file is always expected on $OUTPUT. So with script programs that do not create a new file (e.g. changing metadata) you must first copy $INPUT to $OUTPUT with a command appropriate to the operating system and then make the changes to $OUTPUT. On Windows, it's not a Batch script that we're running. I don't know any way how to run a script with cmd.exe. If you know one, we can change it. Powershell can probably do it. We split the digiKam script lines and join them with " && " and start the cmd.exe with the /C option. Before: command1 command2 command3 After: cmd.exe /C command1 && command2 && command3 Therefore, under Windows, the script should not contain any blank lines or comment lines.
