[systemsettings] [Bug 468410] Removable Devices unplugged table have many records that cause stuttering
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468410 --- Comment #6 from ycj...@163.com --- (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #1) > Are you saying that it re-records the same disc? Or that it adds a new > record for each inserted disc? Because there is no descriptive information in the record, I don't know if it was repeatedly mounted, but there are probably duplicate records because these records are growing rapidly. I placed a hard drive in the CD location and divided it into several zones. Every time the system boots and logs in, there will be some records without descriptive information. Due to the fact that there is no pagination here, when the data volume is too large, the page loads very slowly and almost cannot be accessed. Please refer to the attachment I passed on. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kde] [Bug 468488] New: NVIDIA driver cannot boot after kernel upgrade. Nouveau works.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468488 Bug ID: 468488 Summary: NVIDIA driver cannot boot after kernel upgrade. Nouveau works. Classification: I don't know Product: kde Version: unspecified Platform: Kubuntu OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: critical Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org Reporter: torge.rosend...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I am running Kubuntu 22.10, everything up to date. As soon as I install any (proprietary) nvidia driver, I cannot boot into a graphical system anymore. SYSTEM INFO Kubuntu 22.10 Kernel 5.19.0-1021-lowlatency GPU: GeForce GTX 1660 DE: Plasma 5.25.5 (X11) STEPS TO REPRODUCE When I boot normally, using the nouveau driver, everything works. That is, except for games that apparently require the proprietary driver. As soon as I install any nvidia driver (I tried nvidia-driver-525 and -515), I can't boot into the desktop. I am thrown into the boot screen with a message saying nvidia-gpu :06:00.3: i2c timeout error e000 This however seems (according to other posts I've seen) not to be the source of the problem. Iirc, I have seen this screen a couple of times before, but then the DE still loaded. REASON FOR BREAK: The system started to behave this way when I installed a kernel upgrade some time ago. On the reboot after that, my system did not boot. I "solved" it by opening tty (Ctrl+Alt+F2) and uninstalling the nvidia packages from there. I cannot tell for sure, but I might have accidentally rebooted my PC before all the kernel upgrades succeeded, I don't remember. I have so far always been able to get back to the current semi-functional state without an nvidia driver by uninstalling all nvidia-related packages through tty. ATTEMPTED SOLUTION(S) I have tried different ways to install the driver, including apt and ubuntu-drivers. The kubuntu-driver-manager utility does not allow me to select a driver for some reason, it prints python errors to the terminal, but that's probably a different issue. All tools report the same driver versions, e.g. for nvidia-driver-525: VERSION 525.105.17-0ubuntu0.22.10.1 I have currently no packages matching *nvidia* installed (I did apt purge) . My windows dualboot reports that the GPU works as expected. I tried apt --reinstalling the linux-headers and then install the driver, didn't change anything. FURTHER IDEAS Are there any ways I can easily get back to a previous kernel to try if that's the issue? Does it make a difference through which system tool I install the driver? (apt / ubuntu-drivers / kubuntu-driver-manager [broken!]) Should I try installing the driver through the NVIDIA homepage? The version code is the same (525.105.17) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 425557] Plasma freezes when Compositor set to use OpenGL, both 2.1 or 3.0. No freeze with Xrender

That might take hours or days. I have been experiencing this exact same issue under X11 since I upgraded my KDE neon laptop to Plasma 5.27. Never happened under 5.26, but it's happening almost every day. It seems to trigger after a long period of time on its own, without any user interaction. I can be away from my computer for awhile and come back and find that it appears to be dead except for a movable cursor. Disabling the compositor with Shift+Alt+F12 is what gets my session usable again, but the Plasma panels are non-responsive though I see that plasmashell is still running with htop. I've been trying to find a pattern for what causes it, and the I've noticed that plasma-systemmonitor is the only program that seems to be in an unresponsive state when it happens and needs to be forcibly killed. Correlation? Maybe. I was thinking it was some byproduct of the OpenGL drivers, so I installed the Obiaf PPA to get the latest Mesa, but there was no change. Since this is such an odd bug, I don't even know how to describe it to file it as a bug. [valgrind] [Bug 434057] Add stdio mode to valgrind's gdbserver
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=434057 Mark Wielaard changed: What|Removed |Added Status|ASSIGNED|RESOLVED Resolution|--- |FIXED --- Comment #29 from Mark Wielaard --- commit 0432ce486d61f84f6fcbeab0d812bb1f61c57561 Author: Alexandra Petlanova Hajkova Date: Thu Mar 3 04:46:03 2022 -0500 vgdb: implement the extended-remote protocol Executing vgdb --multi makes vgdb talk the gdb extended-remote protocol. This means that the gdb run command is supported and vgdb will start up the program under valgrind. Which means you don't need to run gdb and valgrind from different terminals. Also vgdb keeps being connected to gdb after valgrind exits. So you can easily rerun the program with the same breakpoints in place. vgdb now implements a minimal gdbserver that just recognizes a few extended-remote protocol packets. Once it starts up valgrind it sets up noack and qsupported then it will forward packets between gdb and valgrind gdbserver. After valgrind shutsdown it resumes handling gdb packets itself. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=434057 Co-authored-by: Mark Wielaard -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 467564] With only a single icon shown, icon sizing heuristics differ from those of other Panel widgets
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=467564 --- Comment #7 from Adam Fontenot --- Since my bug was closed as a dupe of this, let me add an important addendum. The sizing issues not only affect the visible size of the icon, they also affect the click target size of the widget. In some cases, the click target will not include the top (or bottom?) edge of the widget, leading to failed clicks. Importantly, the issues *do not* coincide. For instance: * panel width 26: tiny icon, full size click target * panel width 27: full size icon, small click target (!) * panel width 28: full size icon, full size click target I actually was not able to find a case (with brief testing) where a setting yielded both a tiny icon and a small click target. This is surprising, but I assume the issues are probably still related anyway.
