https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=477533 Tobias Leupold changed: What|Removed |Added CC||t...@stonemx.de --- Comment #2 from Tobias Leupold --- What about the following: We check all category names. Is we have one starting with a number, we force the "uncompressed" format, and we're done. Maybe we inform the user about that fallback (with a "don't show again" message box). Actually, we mix both variants anyway as soon as tagged areas are present. I'm not sure if our users actually know about those two variants and consciously choose one … and if the benefit is really worth keeping and maintaining both … -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[krita] [Bug 464871] Dynamic Brush Tool, Smoothing Problem (but not need restart)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=464871 Dorijan Salak changed: What|Removed |Added Status|REPORTED|CONFIRMED CC||dorijan.sa...@gmail.com Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #1 from Dorijan Salak --- I can confirm that indeed the Freehand Brush Tool's Smoothing settings somehow affect Dynamic Brush Tool. I've observed two different issues and have some extra info to share on this, in case it might be useful. If Freehand Brush smoothing is set to None, Basic, Weighted or Stabilizer (any amount) and Dynamic Brush Mass set to 0 prior to closing document or Krita, upon re-opening document (where Freehand sets as default even if dynamic was used) and then changing to Dynamic Brush its Mass (Smoothing) will be broken as if Mass is set to 100. Changing Mass from 0 up by any amount will reset it and will work as intended, even at 0 again. In case where Freehand Brush was set to None and Dynamic Brush Mass set to any amount, upon closing > opening a document not only will it break Mass (if it was set to 0) again but also completely change Dynamic Brush algorithm to Freehand - None where drawn curved lines will be made of snappy straight lines (most noticeable when drawing curve (circle for example) zoomed far out), which doesn't normally happen with Dynamic Brush. In this case only changing Freehand to anything but None and Dynamic's Mass to 0,01 or above then rebooting Krita will reset Dynamic Brush tool back to normal behavior (I suppose, as I'm not certain if it ever truly works as intended). Dynamic Brush Drag option doesn't seem to be affected in any way. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[systemsettings] [Bug 417615] Option to disable kdeconnect
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417615 --- Comment #19 from Lonnie --- I consider anything I can't turn off, that I don't need, I violation of my freedom. On top of this, KDE tries to hide kdeconnect as an auto-start service. I consider that deceptive and dishonest. I don't need kdeconnect, and I didn't ask for it. Its an unnecessarily-mandatory communication service that screams either anterior motives or foolishness. Either the North Korean government is requiring KDE to run this as spyware, or the developers were just foolish enough to design an unnecessary auto-start service that's hidden, and cannot be turned off. On non-KDE distributions, I can't even install KATE (an otherwise excellent text editor) without this stupid package being a dependency. That's ridiculous! This "bug" has been reported a very long time now without resolution. KDE has too much unnecessary interdependence between applications, breaking Unix philosophies that are praised in the Linux community. Its lazy development to have such tight coupling of modules (that should be optional). If something within an application doesn't have a module it needs, you gray that out instead of making it a mandatory dependency. You can even make it to where, when they click it, it asks the useer if they want to go ahead and install the needed package that would make that feature work. Here's the thing: I don't mind having a few packages on my system that I don't use, but when one of those packages is an unnecessarily-mandatory (hidden from auto-start) *running service*, that I cannot turn off, that's where I draw the line. Until more effort is made to bust up this monolith, I bid you farewell KDE. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[Breeze] [Bug 363147] Breeze cursors should have more sizes, and support arbitrary sizes if possible
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=363147 --- Comment #23 from Jin Liu --- I'd like to add that some non-Qt, non-GTK apps (e.g. kitty, which uses GLFW) don't scale cursor images themselves, so on 300% zoom the largest Breeze cursor they use would be 48px, which is much smaller than 72px in KDE apps. So in addition to the current 24/36/48px, at least 60px (for 250% zoom) and 72px (for 300% zoom) should be added. And if KDE is to allow arbitrary cursor sizes, physical cursor image files of `{cursor size}x{global zoom}` must be generated, too. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I am not saying that there is no issue with kwin. I honestly don't know. That's why I am asking a question -- if this doesn't happen when nvidia is configured to preserve video memory after suspend, what would be the correct way to proceed? Does this means that distributions should always enable this option? Or should kwin handle this somehow? If so, how should kwin handle this? I don't know what the answer is. Someone more knowledgeable about these matters should comment. > And why do you call an experimental workaround "the correct configuration"? True, this feature is documented as experimental in the official nvidia documentation[1]. But it seems to be the only way provided by nvidia to save and restore all video memory allocations.
