[valgrind] [Bug 480405] valgrind 3.22.0 "m_debuginfo/image.c:586 (set_CEnt): Assertion '!sr_isError(sr)' failed."
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=480405 --- Comment #15 from Paul Floyd --- (In reply to bugskde from comment #14) > This is a silly question: but it sort of sounds like Valgrind looks at any > mmap-opened file to see if it's a shared library (that is used by the > binary?). What if the file I'm opening happens to be a shared library that > is NOT used by the binary? Loading an executable binary doesn't just mmap the entire file. ELF (and macho on macOS) files are split into segments and sections. Segments like "NOTE" (info related to the OS and architecture) don't need to be mapped. It's only the LOAD segments that matter. And even then we aren't interested in the read-only segment as it should never be the source of errors. So there is complex code to determine when the read-write (global data) and read-execute (the program text) has been loaded. Once it's been determined that all RW and RX LOAD segments have been mmaped then we trigger reading any DWARF debuginfo. Platforms vary a lot in how they do this, and linkers keep coming up with tweaks to try to improve the memory layout and/or make the binary files smaller. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Yes, you're right, the expected result is to match X11 behavior as it provides arguably better usability. As a regular user, I may not be familiar with the codebase (e.g., timer values), what's in charge of input, how X11 clients grab the focus and other technical details of the KWin/X11/Wayland internals. All I know exactly is that Drag-n-Drop in the above-mentioned cases work better on KWin X11 and Mutter Wayland than on KWin Wayland. Surely, increase of the timeout is the welcome change that hopefully will make this issue less noticeable for the majority of users. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=480573 Bug ID: 480573 Summary: Elisa always switches back to outputting to the audio output used when Elisa is initially launched when changing tracks. Classification: Applications Product: Elisa Version: 24.01.90 Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: matthieu_gall...@yahoo.fr Reporter: radb...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 165382 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=165382=edit Audio Volume Plasmoid when this bug occurs (excuse the Dualshock 4, I'm using it to pass audio through USB) SUMMARY When there is more than one audio output, switching to a different one via the Audio Volume Plasmoid mid playback will output current playback to the selected audio output as expected, but when the next track plays/current track changes, Elisa only outputs to the audio output that was in use when Elisa was opened/before the audio output was switched. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Connect two audio outputs and select one via the Audio Volume Plasmoid 2. Open Elisa and play a track 3. Switch audio output mid playback 4. Change the currently playing track OBSERVED RESULT After the currently playing track changes, Elisa only outputs to the audio output that was in use when Elisa was launched. EXPECTED RESULT Elisa keeps playing audio to the currently selected audio output. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora Linux 40 KDE Plasma (Rawhide) (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.92.0 (Plasma 6.0 RC1) KDE Frameworks Version: 5.248.0 Qt Version: 6.6.1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This can also be visually seen in the Audio Volume Plasmoid, where you can see sound being output to an audio device that isn't selected. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 480511] On Wayland, during Drag'n'Drop, if the cursor hovers over a non-target window, it quickly receives focus and rises above the others
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=480511 --- Comment #7 from Nate Graham --- Sure, but for how long? Raising it almost immediately after the cursor stops moving--which is what this bug report is about--is not intentional, as evidenced by the fact that you approved a merge request to change that. :) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
