Getting the same error too. I think celestrak has moved some things around
recently: see https://celestrak.org/NORAD/documentation/gp-data-formats.php. I
think the changes described here have now fully gone into effect: I think the
document KStars is requesting is now found at
https://celestrak.org/NORAD/elements/gp.php?GROUP=noaa=tle instead.

What do you mean by "no support"? Do you mean emoji characters won't render at
all or do you get ugly line art emojis? The latter is an unfortunately a common
Linux system configuration issue. Most of the guides I've seen tell you to
manually modify ~/.config/fontconfig/fonts.conf

[valgrind] [Bug 480405] valgrind 3.22.0 "m_debuginfo/image.c:586 (set_CEnt): Assertion '!sr_isError(sr)' failed."

2024-01-30 Thread Paul Floyd
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=480405

(In reply to bugskde from comment #14)
> This is a silly question: but it sort of sounds like Valgrind looks at any
> mmap-opened file to see if it's a shared library (that is used by the
> binary?). What if the file I'm opening happens to be a shared library that
> is NOT used by the binary?

Loading an executable binary doesn't just mmap the entire file. ELF (and macho
on macOS) files are split into segments and sections. Segments like "NOTE"
(info related to the OS and architecture) don't need to be mapped. It's only
the LOAD segments that matter. And even then we aren't interested in the
read-only segment as it should never be the source of errors.

So there is complex code to determine when the read-write (global data) and
read-execute (the program text) has been loaded. Once it's been determined that
all RW and RX LOAD segments have been mmaped then we trigger reading any DWARF
debuginfo. Platforms vary a lot in how they do this, and linkers keep coming up
with tweaks to try to improve the memory layout and/or make the binary files
smaller.

I'm fairly sure its not related to that other bug. I think that one is mostly
from some of the ffmpeg commands not properly taking into account the input
fps. This one seems to be some other issue that just skips part of the script
entirely. Its possible the scaling caused the issue but will probably take some
more testing to confirm.

[kwin] [Bug 480582] New: Wine 9 Wayland cursor does not hide when holding mouse button on game world to move camera/character

2024-01-30 Thread Yao Mitachi
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=480582

Bug ID: 480582
Summary: Wine 9 Wayland cursor does not hide when holding mouse
button on game world to move camera/character
Classification: Plasma
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.27.10
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: wayland-generic
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: yao...@protonmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
When playing Final Fantasy XIV using Wayland with Wine, with Wine 9's new
Wayland driver enabled, the cursor does not hide when holding down a mouse
button to move the camera/character. In GNOME (Wayland) and in Plasma (X11)
this works fine.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Launch FFXIV with Wayland enabled in Wine
2. Once logged in, hold down left or right mouse button on the game world to
move the camera, or hold both to move the character

OBSERVED RESULT
Cursor stays visible on the screen while the mouse button is held down.

EXPECTED RESULT
Cursor hides until the button is released, as occurs with X11, XWayland, and
GNOME (Wayland).

Yes, you're right, the expected result is to match X11 behavior as it provides
arguably better usability.
As a regular user, I may not be familiar with the codebase (e.g., timer
values), what's in charge of input, how X11 clients grab the focus and other
technical details of the KWin/X11/Wayland internals. All I know exactly is that
Drag-n-Drop in the above-mentioned cases work better on KWin X11 and Mutter
Wayland than on KWin Wayland.
Surely, increase of the timeout is the welcome change that hopefully will make
this issue less noticeable for the majority of users.

[kwin] [Bug 480511] On Wayland, during Drag'n'Drop, if the cursor hovers over a non-target window, it quickly receives focus and rises above the others

2024-01-30 Thread Vlad Zahorodnii

The EXPECTED RESULT talks about no raising window, i.e. matching the behavior
on X11 as demonstrated in the linked video. As I understood it, that was about
removing/adding option rather than tweaking the timeout. Since the current
behavior on Wayland is intentional, I closed the bug report with RESOLVED
INTENTIONAL.

Hi David,

Yes it works like you described and it seems the input fps is messing with
duration of the preview and end result. I took a little bit of a look and I
think it has something to do with how the framerate is set either for the input
files or the export file. I'll try and look into this sometime this weekend.
thanks for the detailed bug report.

Distribution: KDE neon Unstable Edition
DrKonqi: 6.0.80 [CoredumpBackend]

-- Information about the crash:
I have a laptop with nvidia gpu and intel cpu. I have the up to date kde neon
unstable. This issue had been happening eversince installing it the first time
more than a month ago. I turn my laptop on, the os boots normaly, and after
logging into my account, one of the monitors begins heavily flickering, like a
lot. Sometimes its the monitor connected via usb-c (dp alt) that flickers,
sometimes it's the one connected via HDMI. For this crash, it was the one
connected via HDMI. After unplugging the monitor, watiting a few seconds, and
replugging, the issue is fixed but i see that a crash had occured.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=480461

O, wait, I'm confused now!

Apparently there's a "digikamrc" file, a "digikam_systemrc" file and a
"digikamui5" file...

Do you have time to expand a bit on what covers what exactly?

I mean, I can see the descriptions:
-General settings of the application. Delete this and restart digiKam to reset
the application to factory settings
-System settings of the application. Delete this and restart digiKam to reset
the application to factory settings
-contains UI configuration, if your UI is broken, delete this file

But I don't know what is considered "general settings", what "system settings",
and what UI.

Anyway... I can also backup all three of them... 樂

noted in the doc mentioned earlier.

Audio Volume Plasmoid when this bug occurs (excuse the Dualshock 4, I'm using
it to pass audio through USB)

SUMMARY
When there is more than one audio output, switching to a different one via the
Audio Volume Plasmoid mid playback will output current playback to the selected
audio output as expected, but when the next track plays/current track changes,
Elisa only outputs to the audio output that was in use when Elisa was
opened/before the audio output was switched.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Connect two audio outputs and select one via the Audio Volume Plasmoid
2. Open Elisa and play a track
3. Switch audio output mid playback
4. Change the currently playing track

OBSERVED RESULT
After the currently playing track changes, Elisa only outputs to the audio
output that was in use when Elisa was launched.

EXPECTED RESULT
Elisa keeps playing audio to the currently selected audio output.

sound being output to an audio device that isn't selected.
