[korganizer] [Bug 481305] Recurrence deletion for events created in another timezone does not work
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=481305 --- Comment #3 from Daniel Vrátil --- Git commit cedb100cb3158d0071358e4c1cc73bbda35412e0 by Daniel Vrátil. Committed on 21/02/2024 at 07:44. Pushed by dvratil into branch 'master'. Correctly handle timezone of recurrence exceptions An incidence can occur on a different day in its original timezone than in the user's local timezone. [korganizer] [Bug 412722] KOrganizer does not show some events from EWS resource
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=412722 Daniel Vrátil changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |FIXED Status|REPORTED|RESOLVED --- Comment #23 from Daniel Vrátil --- I'm closing this as fixed, since the original issue has been fixed - open and declined invitations will appear in calendars again in 24.02 release. Current KOrganizer master (to be released in 24.05) has additionally a checkbox in settings to globally show/hide declined invitations. Dag, it looks like your problem might be caused by some other issue, please open a separate bug report and please attach the problematic event (stripped of PII). [korganizer] [Bug 418811] Events stored in the database not displayed in KOrganizer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=418811 Daniel Vrátil changed: What|Removed |Added Status|CONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |FIXED --- Comment #32 from Daniel Vrátil --- Open and declined invitations will appear in calendars again in 24.02 release, since the filter was removed recently (by accident, but that doesn't matter, now it's a feature :-)). KOrganizer master (to be released in 24.05) also has a checkbox in settings to globally show/hide declined invitations. I'm closing this as fixed, since open and declined invitations are showing again, if there are still some other events that are not appearing in KOrganizer and are not open/declined invitations, please open a new issue. Sorry this took so long to get fixed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[korganizer] [Bug 421916] Events not shown when PARTSTAT=NEEDS-ACTION for current identity
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=421916 Daniel Vrátil changed: What|Removed |Added Status|REPORTED|RESOLVED Resolution|--- |FIXED CC||dvra...@kde.org --- Comment #1 from Daniel Vrátil --- So, here's an answer on what's going on: Some years ago, special "Search" -> "Open Invitations" and "Declined Invitations" calendars were introduced. Those calendar should contain all your open ("unanswered") and declined invitations from all calendars. To prevent such events appearing twice in KOrganizer, an additional filter was added to code that hides those events from regular calendars. The problem is that users often don't have those calendars enabled, and that the special "Search" collections don't work reliably at all and thus events might be missing. I have accidentally fixed this in git master (to be released 24.02) by porting event views away from ETMCalendar, so this filter was also removed, thus you will start seeing open and declined invitations in your main calendars again. Related: bug #418811, #412722. Current git master (to be released in 24.05) will have a checkbox in KOrganizer settings to allow to hide declined events globally. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[KPipeWire] [Bug 476186] Screen recording quality is terrible
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=476186 Ellie changed: What|Removed |Added CC||e...@horse64.org --- Comment #10 from Ellie --- Wouldn't it be possible to just add some slider to Spectacle to allow to specify the bitrate? After all this is possible for the jpeg quality as well. I've also just run into this with a higher DPI UI setting, and the resulting recording is both extremely blurry and so full of artifacts that it's hard to use it for anything. On top of things it's not even that small, but if the initial quality is already so bad this also prevents re-encoding for a more reasonable file size. It therefore seems to me like it would be a better idea to err on the side of too high quality rather than too low. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[frameworks-knotifications] [Bug 481612] New: Allow custom filtering of KDE Plasma notifications to filter out specific apps or notification types
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=481612 Bug ID: 481612 Summary: Allow custom filtering of KDE Plasma notifications to filter out specific apps or notification types Classification: Frameworks and Libraries Product: frameworks-knotifications Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kdelibs-b...@kde.org Reporter: mur...@gmail.com CC: kdelibs-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY *** Some applications send a lot of different notifications and provide no way to filter out unneeded ones. But currently, KDE Plasma Notifications settings provide the ability to only disable all notifications from an app. And provide the limited (hardcoded?) list of apps that we can configure. So I don't see in the list many apps that I use and want to configure notification rules for. And even for the apps presented in the list, sometimes configuration doesn't work. For example, if I remove the "Show popups" for the Spotify application, it notification still continues to pop up, ignoring this setting. To workaround this problem will be good to implement custom filtering rules for incoming notifications, in addition to the current per-app settings. Something easy like the notification source filter (by substring or regexp) and the notification body filter (the same - substring or regexp). And the debug mode, where we can track the notification properties for incoming notifications, to understand how to filter the specific ones. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=465241 --- Comment #3 from Nate Graham --- I don't think in principle there's a rule against it. However since it has to be implemented in a bespoke manner for every single thing that currently uses the arrow keys for navigation, it's not exactly a high priority either. And in UIs that allow both typing text as well as directional navigation, the two conflict for vim-based shortcuts and so implementing them is less feasible or even infeasible. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kdenlive] [Bug 481602] New: [Feature Request] Add duration for Mark and Guide
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=481602 Bug ID: 481602 Summary: [Feature Request] Add duration for Mark and Guide Classification: Applications Product: kdenlive Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: User Interface Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org Reporter: master.lee...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Add the capability of the mark and guide include time range instead only a timestamp/one frame. So, want I mean is the developers were going to add a "sub-feature" for Marks and Guide. WHY? I create livestream highlight cuts and in order to achieve that I first watch the whole livestream. I use marks for list this good moments, but most of time, a moment is a time range. If I want to list this section, I need create two marks, one for beginning and one for ending. It slow down my workflow, since I always need rename the marks to describe what's happens. Another motivation would be: this is a common feature between the professional proprietary Video Editors - and really useful. I GUESS THERE IS A SHORTCUT TO ADD IT... I know that Shotcut video editor allow you add duration for mark. Since that KDEnlive and Shotcut have components in common, maybe the developers could get shortcut to implement this feature for marks in KDEnlive checking the Shotcut source - sorry if I saying something really stupid. ISN'T "INSERT ZONE IN PROJECT BIN" ENOUGH? I know about the "Insert Zone in Project Bin" feature, but it's slow when I handle with a long livestream (at least, 5 hours). Also, when I select the sub-clip for rename, I need select it in Project Bin and it make me lose the waveform zoom in Clip Monitor and always need redo the zooming, what's really annoying. And, marks and guides can be export from KDEnlive, what's really cool, but "Inserted Zone" not. HOW WOULD THIS WORK? When you to add a mark, the dialog box now have field to type the beginning and the ending point of the mark. By default, mark would keep one frame time range as soon as add. "SUB" FEATURE REQUEST? Also, if I may request one more thing about this stuff, it would be so amazing if the developers add a function to add mark and guide with the same range as the zone are set in timeline or clip monitor. I mean, the mark already would be filled with the beginning point the same as zone in point and the ending point the same as zone out point. Actually, this sub feature request is a feature available in DaVinci Resolve video editor, but it is so useful. THAT IS IT! Thank you for read till here and also for all effort to make the KDEnlive. After make the whole text, I found out this feature already was request: Report already sent in Bug Tracker - https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=415987 Discussion in Gitlab - https://invent.kde.org/multimedia/kdenlive/-/issues/614 But I sent this report for reinforce the request... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

SUMMARY *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 0. I have made some short recordings. Please see the video attached as I'm sure my instructions are going to be... poorly explained. 1. On a blank layer, draw a simple figure. I drew a circle. 2. Add a transform mask. 3. On frame zero, Add transform mask key frames. Repeat this step on frames 1 and 2 making sure to move the figure to a different spot on the canvas for each frame. For me, I set keyframes for the figure to be at the top, middle, and bottom of the canvas. 4. Return to frame zero, select the figure (through the transform mask) and try to adjust it's position. 5. Observe the results. Keyframes for frame 1 and 2 disappear and the values for the keyframes on frame 0 are overwritten with different values without your input. OBSERVED RESULT Keyframes for frame 1 and 2 disappear and the values for the keyframes on frame 0 are overwritten with different values without your input. In some cases, as soon as you edit a new frame, the previous frame is "cleared". EXPECTED RESULT To be able to create and edit frame-specific keyframe values and have those values stay with that specific frame. [kwin] [Bug 481523] cursor flickers on external monitor in present windows mode

Committed on 20/02/2024 at 23:21. Pushed by vladz into branch 'Plasma/6.0'. Fix disappearing software cursor in overview and zoom effect The overview and the zoom effect repaint the whole screen every frame. But the problem is that there are cases when there's nothing to repaint. I'm not quite sure why it happens. Maybe overview and other effects should honor the repaint region, but on the other hand, they don't need to because of the fullscreen effect api promises. This change forces overview and zoom effect to use "generic paint" code path in the workspace scene to force infiniteRegion() repaint regions. [systemsettings] [Bug 480272] KDE applications use the wrong cursor theme in a Gnome desktop
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=480272 --- Comment #8 from Nate Graham --- > Without that env var (i.e., out of the box), it looks even worse, and the > cursor is just as wrong. > So qt5ct is not responsible for the cursor problem. It's not that qt5ct is responsible for the problem; but rather it isn't an automatic fix for the problem. Setting qt5ct makes it your QPT, and thus allows *you* to fix the problem yourself using qt5ct's built-in config UI somewhere. > "QGnomePlatform project is unmaintained a no longer actively developed." :/ > I have qt5-gtk-platformtheme installed. I have no idea if there's anything I > am expected to do beyond > installing it but it doesn't seem to help. You have to set the QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME envar to it, rather than qt5ct. I don't know what its technical name is though, sorry. You'll have to figure that our yourself. > I'm not sure if I would call Debian a GNOME-focused distro. It's a "we have > everything" distro, isn't it? > The Qt package can't know which DE I am using. > > Obviously most KDE contributors use KDE as their DE so there's no reason why > they would care about > how their apps look like on GNOME, and I can't blame them for that, it's free > software after all. But it > is unfortunate that this means mixing the best parts of GNOME and KDE is a > lot more work than it > should be. If Qt aims to be "native" in every environment it is started in, I > guess it would be a Qt bug > (or at least feature request) if Qt apps don't look native on GNOME by > default? It would certainly be > a bug if Qt apps looked like this on Windows or macOS... It's not really Qt's fault; rather, there's a bit of a mismatch between how Qt does platform theming, and what people in the non-QT world tend to care about. The way Qt works is that it expects for the environment it's run in to set a QPT that tells it how to integrate Qt apps into that environment so they look and feel correct. This is *how* Qt apps know how to look and feel native in the environment they're run in. But if the environment doesn't bother to provide a QPT, then the integration doesn't happen and Qt apps look and feel junky. Someone needs to write that QPT for their environment, so that Qt apps feel native in it. That someone is by definition not a Plasma user--or else they'd be using Plasma's own QPT. Thus it is a bit of an annoying chore for them; they need to care about consistent theming between apps from different developers and cultures, and have the technical expertise with Qt and time to write a QPT. Clearly GNOME people do not have the interest, skill, and/or time to get it done. That's fine; I can't blame them. So the task basically falls to distro maintainers. In fact this is one of the reasons why distros exist: to *integrate* together all the weird and wacky diverse components that come from different people and groups and projects, so that the final result is reasonably harmonious. Writing a QPT to make Qt apps look and feel nice in a non-Plasma environment is something I would definitely expect of distro developers. Maybe they could even collaborate on it so no one distro has to do it all themselves. In the absence of that, Distros that don't care about this even a little bit could even be lazy and set Plasma-Integration as the QPT for their non-Plasma environments, and then at least Qt apps would be Breeze-themed and look KDE-ish. They wouldn't look native in a GTK environment, but they'd look better than they do when using the default Fusion theme. Hopefully that clarifies the situation. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
