[korganizer] [Bug 481305] Recurrence deletion for events created in another timezone does not work

2024-02-20 Thread Daniel Vrátil
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=481305

Git commit cedb100cb3158d0071358e4c1cc73bbda35412e0 by Daniel Vrátil.
Committed on 21/02/2024 at 07:44.
Pushed by dvratil into branch 'master'.

Correctly handle timezone of recurrence exceptions

An incidence can occur on a different day in its original timezone
than in the user's local timezone. The incidence editor's exception
recurrence editor should always show the exception dates in the
user's local timezone.

I'm closing this as fixed, since the original issue has been fixed - open and
declined invitations will appear in calendars again in 24.02 release. Current
KOrganizer master (to be released in 24.05) has additionally a checkbox in
settings to globally show/hide declined invitations.

Dag, it looks like your problem might be caused by some other issue, please
open a separate bug report and please attach the problematic event (stripped of
PII). Thanks

Open and declined invitations will appear in calendars again in 24.02 release,
since the filter was removed recently (by accident, but that doesn't matter,
now it's a feature :-)). KOrganizer master (to be released in 24.05) also has a
checkbox in settings to globally show/hide declined invitations.

I'm closing this as fixed, since open and declined invitations are showing
again, if there are still some other events that are not appearing in
KOrganizer and are not open/declined invitations, please open a new issue.

Sorry this took so long to get fixed.

[korganizer] [Bug 421916] Events not shown when PARTSTAT=NEEDS-ACTION for current identity

So, here's an answer on what's going on:

Some years ago, special "Search" -> "Open Invitations" and "Declined
Invitations" calendars were introduced. Those calendar should contain all your
open ("unanswered") and declined invitations from all calendars. To prevent
such events appearing twice in KOrganizer, an additional filter was added to
code that hides those events from regular calendars. The problem is that users
often don't have those calendars enabled, and that the special "Search"
collections don't work reliably at all and thus events might be missing.

I have accidentally fixed this in git master (to be released 24.02) by porting
event views away from ETMCalendar, so this filter was also removed, thus you
will start seeing open and declined invitations in your main calendars again.

Related: bug #418811, #412722.

Current git master (to be released in 24.05) will have a checkbox in KOrganizer
settings to allow to hide declined events globally.

The "Minimize All" doesn't.

Wouldn't it be possible to just add some slider to Spectacle to allow to
specify the bitrate? After all this is possible for the jpeg quality as well.
I've also just run into this with a higher DPI UI setting, and the resulting
recording is both extremely blurry and so full of artifacts that it's hard to
use it for anything. On top of things it's not even that small, but if the
initial quality is already so bad this also prevents re-encoding for a more
reasonable file size. It therefore seems to me like it would be a better idea
to err on the side of too high quality rather than too low.

So what i've tried is switching to wayland, which apparently fixes my issue
with this.
customizations i've done:
"plain" manjaro out of the box, i have dual boot win 10 for my wife
i tried a couple of sddm themes but am stuck with 'breath'
installed intellij/vscode/qt
had to delete couple of old kernels from hand
but to be honest nothing comes to my mind that i have done besides trying out
sddm themes that could have messed up sth there
Is there anything concrete that you're thinking of that can mess up my
configuration like that?

i havn't tried creating a clean user and reproducing that since it appears to
me switching to wayland resolves my issue. I'll try that when i can find the
time.

[frameworks-knotifications] [Bug 481612] New: Allow custom filtering of KDE Plasma notifications to filter out specific apps or notification types

2024-02-20 Thread Murz
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=481612

Bug ID: 481612
Summary: Allow custom filtering of KDE Plasma notifications to
filter out specific apps or notification types
Classification: Frameworks and Libraries
   Product: frameworks-knotifications
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdelibs-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: mur...@gmail.com
CC: kdelibs-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
***
Some applications send a lot of different notifications and provide no way to
filter out unneeded ones.

But currently, KDE Plasma Notifications settings provide the ability to only
disable all notifications from an app. And provide the limited (hardcoded?)
list of apps that we can configure. So I don't see in the list many apps that I
use and want to configure notification rules for.

And even for the apps presented in the list, sometimes configuration doesn't
work. For example, if I remove the "Show popups" for the Spotify application,
it notification still continues to pop up, ignoring this setting.

To workaround this problem will be good to implement custom filtering rules for
incoming notifications, in addition to the current per-app settings.

Something easy like the notification source filter (by substring or regexp) and
the notification body filter (the same - substring or regexp).

And the debug mode, where we can track the notification properties for incoming
notifications, to understand how to filter the specific ones.

What do you think about this idea?

2024-02-20 Thread Gerome Meyer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=481611

Bug ID: 481611
   Summary: more playback options
Classification: Applications
   Product: digikam
   Version: 8.3.0
  Platform: macOS (DMG)
OS: macOS
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Preview-Video
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: bte...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Please add next frame and previous frame as buttons (upper left interface)
It would also be great to hint (tooltip) which keyboard shortcuts those buttons
can be used with or give us options to define those...
it would also be nice to have more options for the screenshot function, like
naming of those files.

Other weird thing is I cannot copy images from the gallery and paste then in
other apps like it works in the apple photos/gallery app...

This affects also windows version, I use both.

Keep up the good work!
Is there an supporters subscription plan available?
I sent 40 Euros some years ago and because there is no better foto managing
program available i like to support you officially with a receipt!

Regards, Gerome from Japan

[kwin] [Bug 481610] New: Dragging a window along the top screen edge makes it follow the mouse by 1 pixel increments

2024-02-20 Thread Mikhail Sidorov
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=481610

Bug ID: 481610
Summary: Dragging a window along the top screen edge makes it
follow the mouse by 1 pixel increments
Classification: Plasma
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.93.0
  Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: pevz...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 165969
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=165969=edit
dragging a window against the top screen edge

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Grab a window by its titlebar
2. Drag the window to the top edge of the screen so that it goes over the edge
partially

OBSERVED RESULT
The window starts lagging behind the mouse cursor, only shifting in the
direction of the cursor by 1 pixel increments any time the mouse is moved (see
the attached video).

EXPECTED RESULT
The window keeps following the mouse, staying "attached" to the cursor.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.93.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.249.0
Qt Version: 6.7.0
Kernel Version: 6.7.5-zen1-1-zen (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Dragging the window with Meta + Left Click seems to be working fine, not
exhibiting the bug.

Things I've tried which did not change the behavior:
- disabling "Mouse & Touchpad / Screen Edges / Maximize: Windows dragged to the
top edge"
- disabling "Window Management / Window Behavior / Movement / Screen edge snap
zone"

[kate] [Bug 481609] New: Feature Request - XAML Preview Support via Plugin?

2024-02-20 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=481609

Bug ID: 481609
Summary: Feature Request - XAML Preview Support via Plugin?
Classification: Applications
   Product: kate
   Version: 23.08.4
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: scripting
  Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: nekone...@protonmail.ch
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Pretty much the only editors that support XAML live previews (that are still
active) are Visual Studio and JetBrains' Rider... both of which are proprietary
editors. With Rider having the additional beef with requiring a license under
certain conditions.

There's https://github.com/VitalElement/AvalonStudio , but that project hasn't
had a commit for 2 years and issues are piling there.

There's also this Avalonia VS Code Plugin...
https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=AvaloniaTeam.vscode-avalonia
But that's VS Code, and I moved away from there because I wanted to use KDE
technologies as much as I can.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install Kate
2. Install OmniSharp language server
3. Start a XAML project
4. Enable the language server

OBSERVED RESULT
No XAML preview support exists

DESIRED RESULT
For XAML preview support to exist

2024-02-20 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=465241

I don't think in principle there's a rule against it. However since it has to
be implemented in a bespoke manner for every single thing that currently uses
the arrow keys for navigation, it's not exactly a high priority either. And in
UIs that allow both typing text as well as directional navigation, the two
conflict for vim-based shortcuts and so implementing them is less feasible or
even infeasible.

on behalf of everyone who has dodgy eyesight, i implore you NOT to make the
icons bigger. even with myopia and astigmatism, i can see the icons just fine,
and making them bigger would be making them bugger up display aesthetics, which
are already pushing it in terms of having too many fiddly bits on screen all
the time, many of which i have never needed in 10 years. of course, one man's
meat etc your previous idea of making the invisible selection area around
an icon bigger is a good one.

having discovered fusion, i am happy with it just the way it is. btw the only
theme that works with fusion is 'default', all the other themes create some
illegible icons.

but if you are open to new ideas, i do have one request: can we have an option
to change the shade of background? the light themes are a bit too bright for
me, and the dark ones a bit too dark. what i want to be able to do is focus on
the video i am creating, not on the bells and whistles of kdenlive ui.

Tested the transform tool / transform mask while animating in 5.1.4. The bug
issue is not present there.
Tested again in 5.2.1 the bug is present there.
An additional detail, the preview in Tool Options may also be the culprit. I've
noticed that the once I select the object, the preview incorrectly moves the
object to the previous user-confirmed location instead of where the object
was/is when you select it.

Cannot reproduce with current git master and Qt 6.6.0. or me, clicking on the
checkboxes toggles the selection state of the cards as expected. Maybe a Qt 6.7
regression somehow?

FWIW I couldn't even see the checkbox version of the dialog at all when
invoking it from OBS; I had to fake it by adding a `root.multiple = true;` to
the component.onCompleted handler in ScreenDialogChooser.qml. If anyone can
offer any pointers on how to get the dialog into multi-selection mode in a
production environment, I'd be grateful.

[kdenlive] [Bug 481602] New: [Feature Request] Add duration for Mark and Guide

2024-02-20 Thread Mat.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=481602

Bug ID: 481602
Summary: [Feature Request] Add duration for Mark and Guide
Classification: Applications
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: User Interface
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: master.lee...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

Add the capability of the mark and guide include time range instead only a
timestamp/one frame. So, want I mean is the developers were going to add a
"sub-feature" for Marks and Guide.

WHY?

I create livestream highlight cuts and in order to achieve that I first watch
the whole livestream. I use marks for list this good moments, but most of time,
a moment is a time range. If I want to list this section, I need create two
marks, one for beginning and one for ending. It slow down my workflow, since I
always need rename the marks to describe what's happens.

Another motivation would be: this is a common feature between the professional
proprietary Video Editors - and really useful.

I GUESS THERE IS A SHORTCUT TO ADD IT...

I know that Shotcut video editor allow you add duration for mark. Since that
KDEnlive and Shotcut have components in common, maybe the developers could get
shortcut to implement this feature for marks in KDEnlive checking the Shotcut
source - sorry if I saying something really stupid.

ISN'T "INSERT ZONE IN PROJECT BIN" ENOUGH?

I know about the "Insert Zone in Project Bin" feature, but it's slow when I
handle with a long livestream (at least, 5 hours). Also, when I select the
sub-clip for rename, I need select it in Project Bin and it make me lose the
waveform zoom in Clip Monitor and always need redo the zooming, what's really
annoying.

And, marks and guides can be export from KDEnlive, what's really cool, but
"Inserted Zone" not.

HOW WOULD THIS WORK?

When you to add a mark, the dialog box now have field to type the beginning and
the ending point of the mark. By default, mark would keep one frame time range
as soon as add.

"SUB" FEATURE REQUEST?

Also, if I may request one more thing about this stuff, it would be so amazing
if the developers add a function to add mark and guide with the same range as
the zone are set in timeline or clip monitor. I mean, the mark already would be
filled with the beginning point the same as zone in point and the ending point
the same as zone out point.

Actually, this sub feature request is a feature available in DaVinci Resolve
video editor, but it is so useful.

THAT IS IT!

Thank you for read till here and also for all effort to make the KDEnlive.

After make the whole text, I found out this feature already was request:

Yes, it was a cause of bug earlier within Dolphin so I wanted to make sure that
wasn't it, since it should be fixed in Plasma 6.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
0. I have made some short recordings. Please see the video attached as I'm sure
my instructions are going to be... poorly explained.
1. On a blank layer, draw a simple figure. I drew a circle.
2. Add a transform mask.
3. On frame zero, Add transform mask key frames. Repeat this step on frames 1
and 2 making sure to move the figure to a different spot on the canvas for each
frame. For me, I set keyframes for the figure to be at the top, middle, and
bottom of the canvas.
4. Return to frame zero, select the figure (through the transform mask) and try
to adjust it's position.
5. Observe the results. Keyframes for frame 1 and 2 disappear and the values
for the keyframes on frame 0 are overwritten with different values without your
input.

OBSERVED RESULT
Keyframes for frame 1 and 2 disappear and the values for the keyframes on frame
0 are overwritten with different values without your input. In some cases, as
soon as you edit a new frame, the previous frame is "cleared".

EXPECTED RESULT
To be able to create and edit frame-specific keyframe values and have those
values stay with that specific frame.

This issue seems to be present in Krita 5.2.1 as well. I have a friend who uses

an issue in 5.1.x. But I don't know for sure on that one.

Git commit 6e7088d047d8c2ddb550be5a14606918f552a3b6 by Vlad Zahorodnii.
Committed on 20/02/2024 at 23:21.
Pushed by vladz into branch 'Plasma/6.0'.

Fix disappearing software cursor in overview and zoom effect

The overview and the zoom effect repaint the whole screen every frame.
But the problem is that there are cases when there's nothing to repaint.
I'm not quite sure why it happens. Maybe overview and other effects
should honor the repaint region, but on the other hand, they don't need
to because of the fullscreen effect api promises.

This change forces overview and zoom effect to use "generic paint" code
path in the workspace scene to force infiniteRegion() repaint regions.

Git commit bb8b51a3abe750a42907f393bc35da5f5d034a83 by Vlad Zahorodnii.
Committed on 20/02/2024 at 23:01.
Pushed by vladz into branch 'master'.

[systemsettings] [Bug 480272] KDE applications use the wrong cursor theme in a Gnome desktop

It's not that qt5ct is responsible for the problem; but rather it isn't an
automatic fix for the problem. Setting qt5ct makes it your QPT, and thus allows
*you* to fix the problem yourself using qt5ct's built-in config UI somewhere.

You have to set the QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME envar to it, rather than qt5ct. I
don't know what its technical name is though, sorry. You'll have to figure that
our yourself.

It's not really Qt's fault; rather, there's a bit of a mismatch between how Qt
does platform theming, and what people in the non-QT world tend to care about.
The way Qt works is that it expects for the environment it's run in to set a
QPT that tells it how to integrate Qt apps into that environment so they look
and feel correct. This is *how* Qt apps know how to look and feel native in the
environment they're run in. But if the environment doesn't bother to provide a
QPT, then the integration doesn't happen and Qt apps look and feel junky.

Someone needs to write that QPT for their environment, so that Qt apps feel
native in it. That someone is by definition not a Plasma user--or else they'd
be using Plasma's own QPT. Thus it is a bit of an annoying chore for them; they
need to care about consistent theming between apps from different developers
and cultures, and have the technical expertise with Qt and time to write a QPT.

Clearly GNOME people do not have the interest, skill, and/or time to get it
done. That's fine; I can't blame them. So the task basically falls to distro
maintainers. In fact this is one of the reasons why distros exist: to
*integrate* together all the weird and wacky diverse components that come from
different people and groups and projects, so that the final result is
reasonably harmonious. Writing a QPT to make Qt apps look and feel nice in a
non-Plasma environment is something I would definitely expect of distro
developers. Maybe they could even collaborate on it so no one distro has to do
it all themselves. In the absence of that, Distros that don't care about this
even a little bit could even be lazy and set Plasma-Integration as the QPT for
their non-Plasma environments, and then at least Qt apps would be Breeze-themed
and look KDE-ish. They wouldn't look native in a GTK environment, but they'd
look better than they do when using the default Fusion theme.

Hopefully that clarifies the situation.

In that case it sounds like global shortcuts in general are working, and it's
only your volume keys that aren't. That makes me suspicious or something in the
Audio Volume widget, which defined these shortcuts in Plasma 5.27 (in Plasma 6
they're provided by something more global which is more robust).

Did you by any chance remove your Audio Volume widget, or disable it from the
System Tray, or did the update have the effect of doing anything like that?

I notice you're moving the mouse *immediately* after locking the screen and
before the wallpaper of the lock screen appears. We had a bug report on this
and I recall it being fixed and I can't reproduce the isste myself right now,
but I'm having trouble finding the bug report now. Will keep looking.

We've done some more work to make output configs be remembered properly with
the Wayland session in Plasma 6 even with the weirdest output setups, so this
should be fixed. If it still happens, just reopen this
