I've read that this is because from Plasma 5.XX to Plasma 6.XX some symbolic icons were renamed, breaking the compatibility with most icon themes except from Breeze and a few other which don't have the tray area iconset at all (such as Magna-Dark). *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=477983 Möhsün Babayev changed: What|Removed |Added CC||mohsun.babayev@protonmail.c ||om --- Comment #7 from Möhsün Babayev --- Same thing started happening to me after Plasma 6 on Arch Linux (fresh install, not upgrade). It shows double total disk space (1.9TB instead of 952GB). All other sources I tried show the disk space correctly (e.g.: fastfetch, lsblk, fdisk, Dolphin, GParted, KDE Partition Manager, KDiskMark). My root partition is the only partition on the disk (1TB SSD), apart from the 1GB ESP. It is a LUKS2 encrypted btrfs volume with a bunch of subvolumes created for Snapper. Dolphin always shows two versions of the same partition, one encrypted and one decrypted (regular, as it should), and I have always manually hidden the encrypted one to decrease clutter. Also, on the same configuration, GNOME always shows Disk Capacity as "Unknown", maybe that it also related. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=482944 --- Comment #26 from Maik Qualmann --- There are two options in the Album or Item menu for metadata. You should run the option to re-read from image to database. This is important for your problem, as no metadata is written into your images. In the opposite case, no metadata would be written to your images if you have not activated the options to write in the digiKam metadata settings. Since we have never been able to reproduce this problem ourselves under Windows, it would be interesting to know whether your system or image collection has any special features. 1. [plasmashell] [Bug 483075] New: Global menu disappears when a pop-up window shows up
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=483075 Bug ID: 483075 Summary: Global menu disappears when a pop-up window shows up Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version: 6.0.1 Platform: Arch Linux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Global Menu Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: wks1...@gmail.com CC: k...@privat.broulik.de, mvourla...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 166845 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=166845=edit Screen recording SUMMARY The global menu disappears when I am playing Picmi and the high-score window pops up at the end of game, but not good enough to get a high score STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Ensure one panel contains the "Global Menu" widget. One way to do so is adding a "Global menu panel" 2. Open the Picmi game. 3. Play it enough times (any difficulty) to fill up the "highscores". Alternatively, modify `.config/picmirc` and add the following section to fill up the "Easy" difficulty: CUT HERE= [KHighscore_Easy] 0_LastPlayer=test 1_Date=10 Mar 2024 13:40 1_Name=test 1_Score=98 1_Time=0:00:38 2_Date=10 Mar 2024 13:40 2_Name=test 2_Score=98 2_Time=0:00:38 3_Date=10 Mar 2024 13:40 3_Name=test 3_Score=98 3_Time=0:00:38 4_Date=10 Mar 2024 13:40 4_Name=test 4_Score=98 4_Time=0:00:38 5_Date=10 Mar 2024 13:40 5_Name=test 5_Score=98 5_Time=0:00:38 6_Date=10 Mar 2024 13:40 6_Name=test 6_Score=98 6_Time=0:00:38 7_Date=10 Mar 2024 13:40 7_Name=test 7_Score=98 7_Time=0:00:38 8_Date=10 Mar 2024 13:40 8_Name=test 8_Score=98 8_Time=0:00:38 9_Date=10 Mar 2024 13:40 9_Name=test 9_Score=98 9_Time=0:00:38 10_Date=10 Mar 2024 13:40 10_Name=test 10_Score=98 10_Time=0:00:38 CUT HERE= 4. Play one more time at the same difficulty, win, but don't be too fast. Be slow enough not to enter the high scores. OBSERVED RESULT A dialog showing "Congratulations! You have solved the board!" appears, and the global menu disappears. After closing that dialog, the global menu still doesn't show up. But if I switch to another application (such as dolphin), the global menu appears. Then if I switch back to Picmi, the correct global menu for Picmi will show. EXPECTED RESULT After closing the "You have solved the board" dialog, the menu for Picmi should show immediately in the global menu widget. See > https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/17aohfq/ > how_do_i_disable_mpris_support_in_firefox/ Hello, I followed the procedure on how to disable it, rebooted my PC and tested. As exhibited on the 2 new attachments, namely, "Local" and "Firefox", the media player widget does not seem to show thumbnails of local videos as well. On "Local" screenshot, I tried playing a random OBS recording using SMPlayer (Firefox is not yet launched during this time), and the widget is just showing a white square with another black square inside it. On "Firefox" screenshot, I played a YT video, and it's still not showing the thumbnail. Not really a big deal, tho. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 483070] New: [feature request] configurable threshold for hiding label of window title (minimumMColumns)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=483070 Bug ID: 483070 Summary: [feature request] configurable threshold for hiding label of window title (minimumMColumns) Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version: 6.0.1 Platform: Arch Linux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Task Manager and Icons-Only Task Manager Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: oldh...@gmail.com CC: qydwhotm...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 166842 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=166842=edit taskbar with labels hidden SUMMARY When there are a lot of windows, the label (window title) is hidden when the room for it is small. However, the current threshold for hiding the labels is too high for me. I would like an option to lower that threshold. Currently it is hardcoded in taskmanager/package/contents/ui/code/layout.js: // Returns the number of 'm' characters whose joint width must be available in the task button label // so that the button text is rendered at all. function minimumMColumns() { return tasks.vertical ? 4 : 5; } I would like it configurable to as low as 1. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open many windows 2. Watch the task manager. 3. OBSERVED RESULT Labels are hidden despite there are still some space left, as the screenshot shows. EXPECTED RESULT Provide an option to display the label as long as one character can fit in. This is especially useful when I have a lot of windows with names distinguishable at the first or second character, such as terminals or (dolphin) folders. This critical memory leak seems to occur only with ConfyUI, based on my experience. However, even if I need to write to the ConfyUI developer, what should I do about the memory that is not being released from the program? [krita] [Bug 483069] Memory leak in KRITA in CONFYUI
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=483069 --- Comment #1 from bapl --- I also want to point out that KRITA inefficiently utilizes the power of the Graphics Card. In Live Mode, it constantly generates the image even if there are no changes to the image. ConfyUI has a feature for Live generation, but there is also an option called "change," which indicates that generation should only start when there are any changes in the project. In other words, if ConfyUI detects that no changes have occurred in the project, it simply reproduces the cached result. For KRITA, I recommend implementing a similar setting and activating Live mode generation only when there are any changes on the canvas. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[krita] [Bug 483069] New: Memory leak in KRITA
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=483069 Bug ID: 483069 Summary: Memory leak in KRITA Classification: Applications Product: krita Version: 5.2.2 Platform: Microsoft Windows OS: Microsoft Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: critical Priority: NOR Component: * Unknown Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: baplo1...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Memory leak in KRITA NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Run KRITA 2. Create New Document 512x512 3. I click on the "Configure" button in the ConfyUI plugin window to access the configuration. 4. I don't click anything in this configuration, just observe the memory growth in Process Hacker. I see that the RAM is being filled at intervals of 2-15 seconds on the krita.exe process. CONFYUI itself is not yet running. The memory is not filling up much, approximately 0.10MB. I close the canvas completely and exit the configuration. The memory does not fill up, but it doesn't get released either. Moving on... I create a new canvas again and launch ConfyUI, connect through Connect, and set the Generation mode to LIVE. I press the Start button to initiate the generation process in Live mode. Memory does not leak until the ready result appears (a white image). The white image is because I didn't draw anything, just started Live. At this stage, when the image appears, the memory increases slightly and stops at 445.5MB. No questions so far. Moving on... I make the first stroke with a black color using a regular brush: 465MB. I make the second stroke with a black color using a regular brush: 471MB. Wait for 20 seconds: 481MB. Increase the Strength from 30% to 90%: 488MB, 491MB, 492MB... Wait for 1 minute: 511MB. Try to take the image from ConfyUI and transfer it to the CANVAS: 539MB, 570MB, 581MB. I noticed that after taking the image by pressing the "Copy the current result to the image as a new layer you want to see, or leave empty" button, the memory started leaking rapidly. At the moment, 764MB, although no Krita operations are currently being performed. 30 seconds after: 852MB. 870MB... Try using this button 10 more times: 1GB. Now I will try to terminate ConfyUI and disconnect it from KRITA by stopping and closing the canvas completely: 1.11GB. The leak has stopped, but the memory has not been freed. Now I will try to repeat the same procedures, only close the canvas but not close ConfyUI. 1.37GB. Now I close the canvas but do not close CONFYUI and leave the program for 5 minutes: 1.37GB. Conclusion: The leak only occurs when the canvas is open - very weakly and tolerably. The leak occurs when working with ConfyUI, specifically, it is strongly pronounced with "Strength around 60-100%" and pressing the "Copy the current result to the image as a new layer you want to see, or leave empty" button. Memory is not cleared but preserved in KRITA until the program is completely closed, for example, when memory is overloaded and the process crashes. OBSERVED RESULT EXPECTED RESULT SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: 10 macOS: - Linux/KDE Plasma: - (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: I'm not aware of the version, but it's possibly the latest one; I downloaded the program on March 9, 2024. [plasmashell] [Bug 483068] New: must enter wireless password upon login when systemd boot is disabled
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=483068 Bug ID: 483068 Summary: must enter wireless password upon login when systemd boot is disabled Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version: 6.0.0 Platform: Neon OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Startup process Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: s_chriscoll...@hotmail.com CC: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY Some of my startup scripts/applications fail to start with systemd boot enabled, so I have disabled it by creating "~/.config/startkderc" containing: [General] systemdBoot=false This worked without issue in Plasma 5, but in Plasma 6, this causes KDE Wallet to prompt for the wireless password every boot after logging in. This issue happens in X11, but not Wayland. The wireless network is set with the "All users may connect to this network" option, so no password prompt should be happening. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Make sure you are on a laptop with a default wireless network that you auto-login to. 2. Make sure to enable "All users may connect to this network" in the wireless network options so that there should normally be no need for a wireless network password prompt. 3. Disable systemd boot. Here's a quick command to create/edit `startkderc`: kwriteconfig5 --file startkderc --group General --key systemdBoot false 4. Restart and log into a Plasma X11 session. OBSERVED RESULT A wireless password box pops up on login. The titlebar says "KDE Wallet Service" and the message reads "The application 'kded6' has requested to open the wallet 'kdewallet'. Please enter the password for this wallet below." EXPECTED RESULT I shouldn't need to enter the wireless network password as it is supposed to be remembered by the system. Turn off pointer acceleration in plasma settings. 2. Load CS2 or another FPS game 3. Test for mouse acceleration. I used this method: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Cy8G2ElLOk OBSERVED RESULT pointer does not return to starting location with different mouse movement speeds. Significant mouse acceleration is present unless monitor is set to 100% scaling. EXPECTED RESULT pointer should not exhibit acceleration when using scaling. [plasmashell] [Bug 483066] New: logout no longer works after disabling systemd boot
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=483066 Bug ID: 483066 Summary: logout no longer works after disabling systemd boot Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version: 6.0.0 Platform: Neon OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Session Management Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: s_chriscoll...@hotmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY Some of my startup scripts/applications fail to start with systemd boot enabled, so I have disabled it by creating "~/.config/startkderc" containing: [General] systemdBoot=false This worked without issue in Plasma 5, but in Plasma 6, disabling systemd boot causes logout to no longer work. Under X11, logging out stalls at a black screen with a mouse cursor. Under Wayland, logging out appears to do nothing. After trying to log out in Wayland, the shutdown and restart buttons will now also do nothing for the rest of the session. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Disable systemd boot. Here's a quick command to create/edit `startkderc`: kwriteconfig5 --file startkderc --group General --key systemdBoot false 2. Restart and log into the desktop. 3. Click on the plasma menu, then choose "Log Out", and confirm on the following logout screen. OBSERVED RESULT Stuck on black screen with mouse cursor (X11) or nothing appears to happen, with shutdown, restart buttons becoming broken for the rest of the session (Wayland). EXPECTED RESULT The user should be logged out and back at the SDDM login screen. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux: KDE neon User Edition 6.0 KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0.0 Qt Version: 6.6.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Bug confirmed on three separate KDE neon installs (1 desktop, 1 laptop, 1 VirtualBox). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
