If you use the “Copy value” option for “Time Adjustments”, then of course it is always the same. [KScreen] [Bug 485837] New: x conf file being changed without confirmation
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=485837 Bug ID: 485837 Summary: x conf file being changed without confirmation Classification: Plasma Product: KScreen Version: 6.0.4 Platform: Arch Linux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: common Assignee: kscreen-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: a...@atikayda.au Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY After updating the x conf file using nvidia settings to enable downscaling via the ViewPortIn and ViewPortOut settings, the kscreen daemon edits the x conf file during the login process to remove the edit. The edit remains commented out, and a new line without the downscaling has taken its place. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open the proprietary nvidia-settings applet with elevated privileges, with two screens of different resolutions. In my instance, the two screens are 4K and QHD 2. On the QHD screen, change the ViewPortIn setting to 4K (3840x2160). Leave the viewport out setting at it's default value 3. Save the updates to the x conf file in the nvidia-settings applet. In my case, this added the line ```Option "metamodes" "DP-2: nvidia-auto-select +0+0 {ForceCompositionPipeline=On, ForceFullCompositionPipeline=On}, DP-0: nvidia-auto-select +3840+132 {viewportin=3840x2160, ForceCompositionPipeline=On, ForceFullCompositionPipeline=On}"``` 4. Reboot the device. At the login screen, the x conf file has not been updated, and the downscaling is in place. 5. Login. The x conf file is updated by the kscreen daemon and the downscaling is removed. In my instance, it looks like this ```# Removed Option "metamodes" "DP-2: nvidia-auto-select +0+0 {ForceCompositionPipeline=On, ForceFullCompositionPipeline=On}, DP-0: nvidia-auto-select +3840+132 {viewportin=3840x2160, ForceCompositionPipeline=On, ForceFullCompositionPipeline=On}" Option "metamodes" "DP-2: nvidia-auto-select +0+0 {ForceCompositionPipeline=On, ForceFullCompositionPipeline=On}, DP-0: nvidia-auto-select +3840+132 {ForceCompositionPipeline=On, ForceFullCompositionPipeline=On}"``` OBSERVED RESULT Valid x settings are removed on login, with no prompt or warning. EXPECTED RESULT Valid settings should be left intact, or a confirmation/warning should be present so that the user is able to determine why their x conf file is being updated. These functions are used in gen_suppression. Instead of a tool name, a core error component name is "CoreError". Two new suppression kinds FdBadCloseSupp and FdNotClosedSupp were added. Corresponding to the FdBadClose and FdNotClosed error kinds. core_error_matches_suppression matches these suppression kinds with error kinds. core_get_extra_suppression_info and core_print_extra_suppression_use are noops for core errors. is_suppressible_error, supp_matches_error, load_one_suppressions_file and show_used_suppressions have been adjusted to work with core error kinds. A new function VG_(found_or_suppressed_errs) helps to not output an empty error summary if only core errors are requested, but no errors were detected. VG_(clo_track_fds) has been moved from pub_core_options.h to pub_tool_options.h. And VG_(needs_core_errors) now takes a Bool that can be set to false in the tool post_clo_init handler. This is used in the none tool to request core errors, but disable all reporting if no option has been given that enables such errors. This make sure only the none/tests/fdleak_ipv4.stderr.exp needs adjustment. For all other tests the output is exactly as before. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=485778 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kdesrc-build] [Bug 463966] kdesrc-build failed building Qt5 claiming init_repository doesn't exist

I can reproduce the issue in kdesrc-build. This happens because the `_updateRepository()`, and therefore the check for the init-repository file existence and its executable permission `(! -e "$srcdir/init-repository" || ! -x _)` is done before the function to clone/update existing clone was finished. In python (kde-builder) the promise is starting to execute right when it is created (unlike in perl), so it was working correctly in kde-builder already. But just to make the logic proper and to be on a safe side, I have added the promise awaits in the commit linked above). https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=485827 Bug ID: 485827 Summary: Virtio VM has upside down cursor after kwin 6.0.4 Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: 6.0.4 Platform: Solus OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: platform-drm Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: site@reillybrogan.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 168702 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=168702=edit Log from boot with the upside down cursor SUMMARY I updated Plasma on Solus to v6.0.4 and noticed that virt-manager VMs using VirGL/Virtio for the GPU had upside down and offset cursors. The issue affects both Plasma Wayland session and SDDM when using kwin and using Wayland. I bisected it to commit 6e4fae02c3d066311ccecfb74d3f2da52d019c86 (https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/commit/6e4fae02c3d066311ccecfb74d3f2da52d019c86). When a revert is applied to 6.0.4 the issue goes away. The issue does not appear when using the QXL GPU type. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Update existing VM to Plasma 6.0.4, with kernel 6.8 (needs this commit: https://github.com/gregkh/linux/commit/9724ed6c1b1212d138e63f5e80647dc8b6b86696, present it v6.8 and later) 2. [dolphin] [Bug 485824] New: Support expand-selected and expand-all single-level and recursive functions when navigating folders using Dolphin's detailed tree view
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=485824 Bug ID: 485824 Summary: Support expand-selected and expand-all single-level and recursive functions when navigating folders using Dolphin's detailed tree view Classification: Applications Product: dolphin Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: view-engine: details mode Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: canceledsnowfall@messagebox.email CC: kfm-de...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Unless someone knows a special command or access key to do this (I saw this same issue reported elsewhere to no avail, apologies if there is already something), despite using Dolphin for several years: When normally browsing folders using Dolphin's detailed expandable-folder view (with detailed information columns and Expandable option enabled), I cannot find a way to either: 1) Expand all selected folders down one level 3) Expand all selected folders recursively 2) Expand all folders down one level 4) Expand all folders recursively In other words one can only expand a single folder by clicking the ">" icon left of it, and it does not do so recursively. Such a functionality is mimicked in IntelliJ IDEA's search results and other such programs, which have a button-based "Expand All" search results, and by the "tree" command-line utility. If there were a right-click menu item(s) (with sub-menu if need be, corresponding to the possibilities above), then one could trigger the function on all selected folders or using a predefined "Expand All [Folders] [Recursively]" menu item. A programmable quick-access key could also be useful. The general use case is to have a UI version of the "tree" command-line utility. Dolphin is the fastest and best file manager, therefore the best-suited to expanding large directory structures via UI. In general this is a more effective way to get a bird's-eye view of a large file set with minimal effort, thus increasing productivity. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I think it should be "When sorting by name in alphanumeric order, 20240414075326_t2 would come after 20240414075326. This is because the underscore character (_) is considered to be greater than numbers in ASCII value. Therefore, any string with an underscore would come after a string with only numbers when sorted in ascending order. So, 20240414075326_t2 is not before 20240414075326 when sorting by name. It’s actually after it. I hope this helps! " -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 485822] New: Blur effect is rendered incorrectly on lower blur strengths
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=485822 Bug ID: 485822 Summary: Blur effect is rendered incorrectly on lower blur strengths Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: 6.0.4 Platform: Arch Linux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: effects-various Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: wackyid...@disroot.org Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 168699 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=168699=edit Comparison of the blur effect between KDE 5.27.10 and KDE 6.0.4 SUMMARY Starting with KDE Plasma 6, the blur effect has noticeable artifacts when rendering at lower blur strengths, which did not happen before in KDE Plasma 5. They're best seen when using a transparent and blurred window decoration theme, such as "Blur-Glassy-Aurorae-6". These artifacts are present when setting the blur strength to either 0 or 1, and the artifacts differ depending on the blur strength as well. When set to 0, if a blurred window is moved around, the blur appears to jitter and appear blocky. When set to 1, detailed UI elements such as icons and especially text get blurred strangely. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Apply a transparent window decoration theme such as "Blur-Glassy-Aurorae-6". 2. Enable blur. 3. Set blur strength to 0 or 1. 4. Move the window behind some medium to large text, and/or begin moving the window around. OBSERVED RESULT Blur gets rendered incorrectly with artifacts. Moving the window around produces jitter on the lowest blur strength, while when strength is set to 1, blur is rendered in a strange manner, e.g black text suddenly looks like white text with a drop shadow. See the attachments EXPECTED RESULT Blur gets rendered correctly, without any jitters or strange artifacts. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.1.0 Qt Version: 6.7.0 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This has been reproduced on Intel integrated graphics and on a VMWare virtual machine, both on X11 and Wayland, all producing the same results, implying that this seems to be an error in the implementation of the blur effect rather than a hardware specific issue. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
