Thank you for taking time to get through my report.

Sadly that's the only output I get when invoking "coredumpctl gdb [paste the
number]". Instead, gdb provides the following warning "Unable to find
libthread_db matching inferior's thread library, thread debugging will not be
available."

In any case, my hardware diagnostic tool started to fail CPU stress tests, so
I'm scared that the sudden plasma hangs and reboots I experience are not
software-related.

If you agree, I would suggest to flag the Bug as "Resolved - not a bug".

I'll keep you informed about the issue.

Thanks.

The problem appears to be that the package fails to resolve and consequently
has an empty (I think) license which then triggers a UI bug.

It's 100% a workaround! I raised the issue, which is quite systemic, here:

When that issue is fixed we can remove the workaround

"Arch Linux", on "EndeavorOS" and on "KDE Neon" (which is Ubuntu based).

Here is a video of production of a large number of visual glitches (posted in
bug 485548) :
https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=169111

We can clearly see that the issue is that the part of the names that overflow
(should not overflow) and any of its rest is not removed when the view updates.
Some things still update the view (clearing the bug at that moment) like
clicking on the background or getting the mouse in or out of the folder part of
dolphin.

This issue happen when the name overflow (in an unexpected line). To the

No font is needed to produce an name overflow.

I'm using Plasmatube on a Pixel 3A running postmarketOS with Plasma Mobile on a
6.8 kernel.
It is however currently unable to play any video. A separate window opens up
showing the first frame of a video but it's frozen (no playback controls).
In the console the following is logged:

Failed to open VDPAU backend Error loading shared library libvdpau_nvidia.so:
No such file or directory
[ffmpeg] AVHWDeviceContext: VDPAU device creation on X11 display :0 failed.
Failed to open VDPAU backend Error loading shared library libvdpau_nvidia.so:

[ffmpeg] AVHWDeviceContext: VDPAU device creation on X11 display :0 failed.

This device uses an Adreno GPU with Mesa's Freedreno, so I'm unsure why it's
trying to get a NVIDIA library in the first place.

Maik,

As you can see on this second screenshot, the map is well displayed on the
Geolocation dialog and all icons are present.

Sound like a lock in Marble.

Note : There is no bookmark registered yet on my computer.

Bug ID: 486712
Summary: [git master] Pressing power button when it is set to
show logout prompt does nothing
Classification: Plasma
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED

  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Session Management
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: dmatteo...@gmail.com
CC: natalie_clar...@yahoo.de
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
The logout prompt, called by pressing the power button or by triggering its
keyboard shortcut does nothing. The power button press is recognised by the
system (is in the log) but nothing happens. If the button is set to other
option they work as expected.

Note: it may be a problem with having both plasma stable and plasma-dev on the
same system (idk).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open system setting -> power management
2. Set active power profile to show logout screen on power button press (or set
a shortcut in keyboard shortcut)
3. Press the power button or the shortcut

OBSERVED RESULT
The journal show that the button was press but nothing happens

EXPECTED RESULT
The logout prompt should show with option for sleep, poweroff,...

Hi,

I have Feature Request, i have some people i help with their linux, they are
normal users, they are mostly some houres to drive away. I used Anydesk for
support, but anydesk is not supporting wayland, and it seems that they will not
so fast in future,
With the appearence of Plamsma6 and Wayland this solution is not working
anymore. Can´t you create a kind of mediation solution so i can reach all of my
freinds in future again, a little Server hostet e.g. under
https://store.kde.org there doesn´t need to be much trafic just for mediation
and Krfb then makes a point to point connection outside ...
This would be so helpfull and solving a big amount of my problems right now and
in future I would always prefer a KDE Solution over a proprietary...

Thanks for the great job with KDE so far

Created attachment 169264

The screencast showing the situation.

SUMMARY

I am trying to make a connection from Dolphin to an SSH server (SFTP). While
trying to do so, KNetAttach becomes unresponsive in the moment it needs to
approve the authenticity of the server (as the IP is not in the `known-hosts`
file) showing a notification at the same time about **Examining the
connection.**

The dialogue can be finished in three ways:
* Hitting the X closing icon -> the action is interrupted and the connection is
not created.
* Clicking on the V symbol to dismiss the notification -> KNetAttach crashes
and the crash is caught by Abrt. See
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2279506 for more information.
* Clicking on the "Stop" button at the notification window -> The action stops
but KNetAttach asks for the password.
* Clicking on the "Pause" button at the notification window ->The action is
paused and KNetAttach asks for the password and creates the connection anyway.

Any consecutive attempt to create the connection is successful when the IP
address already is in the known_hosts.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
See the screencast.

OBSERVED RESULT
KNetAttach is unresponsive and possibly crashes.

EXPECTED RESULT
KNetAttach creates the connection without any issues.

I am confused.

The reboot notification tells you that you need to restart to complete the
update, not to restart to apply the update. -- "The system needs to be
restarted for the updates to take effect."

Are you saying you get a reboot notification despite using offline updates?

widgets of the window (not the contents). It's probably a problem with a popup.

controls: Ceil all components of preferredWidth in LegendDelegate contents

Layout internally `ceil()`s all sizes, so not doing the same means we
get a slight mismatch between the preferred size the layout wants to be
at and the preferred size we calculate, leading to the label being
elided.

While we're at it, drop the Item container and FontMetrics usage which
can be done using Label's implicitWidth these days.

Another use case:

I have a 13.3" 2880x1800 screen in my Thinkpad Z13

When using it together with my 27" 4k screen this one is becoming the primary
screen and I am usually located at greater distance from the laptop screen
which is used as secondary display, thus I'd like to increase scaling of the
laptop's screen in this setup. But when plugging it out, I am probably working
directly on the laptop's keyboard and do not need the increased scaling any
more.

This is a very, very old thing that's there since 4.0 times, but i think the
behavior in that it could be safely changed: as if the svg has the proper
stylesheet things would always be styled, otherwise it wouldn't be anyways, so
i don't see danger in changing this

Summary: Typing uppercase letter from remote cause shift key to
stuck
Classification: Applications
   Product: krfb
   Version: 24.02.2
  Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED

SUMMARY
When using VNC to connect to krfb, once any uppercase letter is typed in remote
VNC client, the shift key would be stuck forever, even local keyboard is
affected. Could not be solve by pressing shift key again.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Launch krfb and enable unattended access
2. Connect from a remote computer
3. Type a uppercase letter

OBSERVED RESULT
The shift key is now stuck, typing letters without caps lock would produce
uppercase, and typing numbers would produce symbols.

EXPECTED RESULT
No key would be stuck.

[kio-extras] [Bug 486716] New: Can't access one Android phone via MTP and Dolphin (errors "The file or folder does not exist" and "Could not enter folder")

Bug ID: 486716
Summary: Can't access one Android phone via MTP and Dolphin

"Could not enter folder")
Classification: Frameworks and Libraries
   Product: kio-extras
   Version: 24.02.2

  Priority: NOR
 Component: MTP
  Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org

  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 169265
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=169265&action=edit
Screenshot of the error "Could not enter folder"

Hello. I hope I've chosen the right product and component.

There is one old smartphone (Sharp Aquos C10 on Android 10) that does not open
in Dolphin via MTP. It's accessible via android-file-transfer, jmtpfs, also
works without problems on Fedora Gnome (stock file manager) and Windows.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Plugin smartphone to USB (it's unlocked and MTP mode is selected).
2. The popup "Disks & Devices" opens next to the tray, where I see the device.
3. I click "Open in file manager" button, a window appears with the title
"Error - KIO Client" with text "The file or folder /Sharp Aquos C10 4/64 does
not exist".
4. I open Dolphin, phone is displayed in the left panel. I click on it and get
an error "Could not enter folder /Sharp Aquos C10 4/64" (screen #1). The path
is
mtp:udi=/org/kde/solid/udev/sys/devices/pci:00/:00:14.0/usb1/1-1/1-1.2/

I don't see errors in journalctl. However, I can access the files through
another applications:
1. android-file-transfer: launched, clicked "Kill users" button (to kill the
process /usr/libexec/kf6/kiod6, otherwise there will be an error "No MTP device
found"), then "Ok". I see the memory contents, can download and upload.
2. jmtpfs: command jmtpfs ~/mnt (also killed the kiod6 process) and I can open
this folder via Dolphin and also work with data.

The mtp-detect command shows the following (left just the beginning and I don't
know why "Nokia 6.1"):
Listing raw device(s)
Device 0 (VID=2e04 and PID=c026) is a Nokia 6.1.

It's curious that both the store version and the CI version have this problem.
bug #473024 seems very related to the problem at hand, but should be fixed in
the CI build.

Specifically
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/ifs/placeholders
says placeholders are FILE_ATTRIBUTE_SPARSE_FILE which we explicitly handle
differently as per the bug I've mentioned, in CI builds. And we do so using a
function that is documented as "Retrieves the actual number of bytes of disk
storage used to store a specified file." which you would expect should return
1KB as per
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/cfapi/build-a-cloud-file-sync-engine#placeholder-files
("Sync engines can create placeholder files that consume only 1 KB of storage
for the filesystem header, and that automatically hydrate into full files under
normal use conditions.").

Needs some inspection what exactly goes on there with onedrive placeholders.
I'd like to avoid having to special case onedrive.

Bug ID: 486721
Summary: Cannot import calendar from ICS file
Classification: Applications
   Product: Merkuro
   Version: 24.02.2
  Platform: Neon
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: claudio.cam...@kde.org
  Reporter: ghisv...@gmail.com
CC: c...@carlschwan.eu
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

Importing an agenda from an ICS file does not seem to work.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. File -> Import
2. Select an ICS file (mine was under my downloads folder)
3. Check the list of calendars on the left hand side

OBSERVED RESULT

The agenda is not visible in the list. No user-facing error message as to why
it was successfully imported.
When launching the app with Konsole, the log hows:

```
kf.kio.filewidgets.kfilefiltercombo: Could not find file filter
qrc:/ImportHandler.qml:93: ReferenceError: fileUrl is not defined
```

EXPECTED RESULT

The agenda should be successfully imported, or a useful error message should be
displayed if not.

As it turns out processes aren't by default privy to see onedrive files as
spares files. That has the advantage that most apps simply don't need to care
about what's what. One would need to set
RtlSetProcessPlaceholderCompatibilityMode to change that and I am not sure is a
good idea because it is NT API and could break things elsewhere in the stack
(e.g. in Qt).

Unhydrated files seem to have the FILE_ATTRIBUTE_UNPINNED attribute set though,
so we could just hold on to that in absence of other information. Supposedly an
unpinned file would only ever be ephemerally present, if at all.
