[kstars] [Bug 488382] 3.7.1 DMG not readable

2024-06-14 Thread Jean-Claude
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=488382

--- Comment #10 from Jean-Claude  ---
The comments I made in another thread "The latest KStars versions (369, 370,
371) can't be installed on macOS Big Sur"
(https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=488499) might be useful to this thread.
This is why I report them below:

I installed macOS Big Sur on a brand new SSD.
I downloaded versions of KStars 3.6.9, 3.7.0, 3.7.1
There is no way to run them.
Only versions KStars ≤ 3.6.8 work perfectly.

When I double-click on the kstars-3.7.1.dmg I get a system warning :
The following disk images couldn't be opened
kstars-3.7.1.dmg  no mountable file systems

As a résumé :
- KStars ≤ 368 works perfectly on my Macs
- the dmg of KStars 369 and the dmg of KStars 370 mount as they should allowing
to install kstars.app in the Applications folder BUT kstars.app is not
functional : an alert appears saying "Check with the developer to make sure
kstars works with this version of macOS"
- the dmg of KStars 371 has the problem described above

[valgrind] [Bug 488514] New: Android OS (Termux) `valgrind /bin/ls` gives `Unrecognised instruction at address X`

2024-06-14 Thread Swudu Susuwu
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=488514

Bug ID: 488514
   Summary: Android OS (Termux) `valgrind /bin/ls` gives
`Unrecognised instruction at address X`
Classification: Developer tools
   Product: valgrind
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Android
OS: Other
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: memcheck
  Assignee: jsew...@acm.org
  Reporter: 2002luvabbal...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

For almost all terminals which compile sources, valgrind has lots of uses.
But with Android OS (Termux is the closest this has to Bash/Ash), valgrind
always outputs Unrecognized instruction at address X

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
```
Welcome to Termux!
I don't think anyone on the KMM team is  a Mac user.  Since you have it
working, I suspect an answer as to why what you did helped will need to come
from a Mac related list or forum.  I'll probably close as DOWNSTREAM, but if
you do find anything that might be changed in the build or packaging process,
let us know.  However, given that the current stable builds for Max x86-64 are
not working (see https://kmymoney.org/macos.html) and the version for arm64 is
from March, I'm not sure when will will be able to use such information for a
new build.
[plasmashell] [Bug 487895] Constant screen repaints after switching virtual desktops with Digital Clock widget set to show seconds on an auto-hide panel
2024-06-14 Thread Reinier
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=487895
--- Comment #20 from Reinier  ---
Gentleman (well I hope...),
I have removed the Pager from the Panel and set the Panel to 'Opaque', but
something is still triggering continuous repaints on some desktop switches. I
found this:
- Using Ctrl-Meta-[Arrow-key] on the keyboard to switch desktops, there's no
trigger to repaints.
- Using 'xdotool key crtl-super-Right' (or equivalent for other directions)
still triggers repaints. (xdotool is X11 only. Try ydotool on Wayland, but I
have no experience with it.)
The repaints can still be stopped by making the panel visible.
I also don't completely understand the explanation given above, about
QSGThreadedRenderLoop. I'm not a developer. I can see how it relates the
behaviour between the hidden panel and the configuration windows, but there
seems to be no relation to desktop switches.
I think there is at least one more contributor to this issue.
[valgrind] [Bug 488441] Add the tests for for --track-fds=yes --xml=yes and file descriptor suppression tests
2024-06-14 Thread Mark Wielaard
--- Comment #3 from Mark Wielaard  ---
Thanks, it is good to see more tests for the file descriptor tracking, xml and
suppression support.
I swapped a few things around, so each commit stands on its own.
And added some tweaks for older ppc64 rhel7 (with broken backtraces).
commit 8864c92efb8f65d8a56153f3bc8f7d2ac907b6cb
Author: Alexandra Hájková
Date:   Thu May 23 04:39:54 2024 -0400
Add file descriptor suppression tests
- none/tests/double_close_range_sup.vgtest
- none/tests/fdleak_cmsg_supp.vgtest
- none/tests/fdleak_creat_sup.vgtest
- none/tests/file_dclose_sup.vgtest
commit 6369c67d37c40c312f5403a08a23e5da878688db
Author: Alexandra Hájková
Date:   Tue Apr 23 09:17:03 2024 -0400
Add the tests for --track-fds=yes --xml=yes
- none/tests/double_close_range_xml.vgtest
- none/tests/fdleak_cmsg_xml.vgtest
- none/tests/fdleak_creat_xml.vgtest
- none/tests/fdleak_dup_xml.vgtest
- none/tests/fdleak_dup2_xml.vgtest
- none/tests/fdleak_fcntl_xml.vgtest
- none/tests/fdleak_ipv4_xml.vgtest
- none/tests/fdleak_open_xml.vgtest
- none/tests/fdleak_pipe_xml.vgtest
- none/tests/fdleak_socketpair_xml.vgtest
- none/tests/file_dclose_xml.vgtest
- none/tests/socket_close_xml.vgtest
Add a new filter_xml. Note the use of --child-silent-after-fork=yes
usage in two vgtests. Maybe this should be the default for --xml=yes?
Otherwise xml output will be "corrupted" by output from a fork.
commit 8b374fd2bce60a58809b4f95a93d7e2f01929a08
Author: Alexandra Hájková
Date:   Thu May 23 04:46:26 2024 -0400
Improve none/tests/double_close_range test and filter_fdleak
Adjust none/tests/file_dclose, none/tests/fdleak_ipv4
and socket_close to fit the changes in filter_fdleak.
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: All
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: simply.te...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
Peru government recently approved four more holidays in the national calendar.
KDE's calendar needs an update to include them.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
In July 2023, Peruvian congress approved the modification of law "Decreto
Legislativo 713", updating the list of Peru's national holidays. I noticed
today that four do not appear in Plasma's calendar, so I am filing this bug to
request their inclusion.
Here you have a link to the official document that makes public the update to
the law.
https://diariooficial.elperuano.pe/Normas/obtenerDocumento?idNorma=110007
The ones that are currently not appearing on Plasma are June 7, July 23, August
6 and December 9.
I will be happy to help if you need any additional information.
Ivy Basseches  changed:
 CC||tz2...@columbia.edu
--- Comment #4 from Ivy Basseches  ---
That makes sense. I think you're right in that there doesn't seem to be a good
reason to isolate the "std" fds, as those are treated differently only by
convention. Like you mentioned, my proposed fix is not really solving the
issue. There's just not a great way of reliably determining if a std fd is open
or not, so I don't love the --track-fds=yes option as it stands.
If we're implementing your suggestion, there are certain potentially useful
cases that this option would now be ignoring, like inheriting a pipe, where one
might want to know if the child has closed its end of the pipe (as is good
practice). I think this is fine as long as the "all" option exists. The user
2024-06-14 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=488494
--- Comment #4 from Nate Graham  ---
The problem with the global scope activation actions isn't that they exist,
it's that local-scope activation actions also exist--creating a
multiple-sources-of-truth problem and an opportunity for user confusion. And
when a global scope activation action has a shortcut, the widget it affects
looks like it has no shortcut set because the local-scope activation action in
its config dialog has no shortcut.
A potential solution would be to make it so that setting a local scope shortcut
for widgets secretly sets the shortcut on the global-scope action. So the same
shortcut would then be shown in both places.
Hey Nate, thanks for your answer, because only Konsole natively supports the
Seems to still be a legitimate request, so I'll just update the version to the
current release.
The payee field is not required, but it is useful if you want to track all the
money you have gotten from or given to some individual or organization.  Some
users even enter a payee for transfer transactions (I believe that was
mentioned an on old thread on the mailing list.)  I also have several payees
such as "Misc restaurant" or "Misc clothing store."  Some might be obvious from
the category, but not all, so reports by category and by payee are
independently useful for me.
So, the idea of having more control over whether and how payees are created
when importing gnucash data seems good.
I don't know it will get much of a priority for the scarce developers' time,
but it's still worth tracking.
