[frameworks-kio] [Bug 456198] Targets of relative symbolic links are resolved incorrectly in the status bar
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=456198 --- Comment #18 from Alan Prescott --- You are correct in that the target is the same whether the symlink is absolute or relative but, personally, I'd have thought that the path displayed would be the same as if I'd typed `ls -l`. If the link always shows as an absolute path then we're missing the chance to provider the user with available information which (s)he will have to go to a terminal window to find out. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[digikam] [Bug 483995] Failure to download required files for face detection, red-eye removal and auto-tagging of images
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=483995 --- Comment #4 from Alan Howshall --- You are correct that the download did work for me on the third attempt. However as a UX designer I would suggest most users would likely only 'Try again' a failed download 1x, before choosing 'Cancel' button that would lead to less optimal results UNLESS you explicitly tell the user that you will automatically re-try from a different download location. So it's great that you've implemented that alternate download location functionality (as I understand what you're saying about not having direct control over mirror sources) BUT I would recommend either adding some additional text to those error dialogs saying that you will re-try from a different mirror. Maybe along with re-labelling current generic and repeated 'Try again' button wording with something like 'Try alternate'. So the user understands that there's a decent chance of it working if they click the Try button more than once. Which was not something I expected. I only tried 3 times because had the same error during 8.2.0, put after cancel that had left me with a crashing 8.2.0 whenever any tagging was involved. Hence I was looking to gather extra evidence of a problem with these additional downloads on fresh 8.3.0 install. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=480201 Bug ID: 480201 Summary: Add a button to send link in clipboard Classification: Applications Product: kdeconnect Version: 23.08.4 Platform: Android OS: Android 11.x Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: android-application Assignee: albertv...@gmail.com Reporter: chen73...@gmail.com CC: andrew.g.r.hol...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Sometimes the app only provides a feature of copying link, not sharing. So it would be great to use regular expressions to extract the link in the clipboard and store it in a variable, and add a button, just like pushing clipboard, to share the url to other device so that other device can directly open the url STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open kdeconnect 2. click some app's button of sharing or copying OBSERVED RESULT Either the phone copy the link but can not send url to device, or the pc just says opening it on text editor without opening it EXPECTED RESULT There is a button which could push url recognized by regular expression from clipboard to other device SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Android: 11 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=479769 Bug ID: 479769 Summary: Viewing a video locks file from being moved by DigiKam or OS, even after de-selecting the file Classification: Applications Product: digikam Version: 8.2.0 Platform: Other OS: Microsoft Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Preview-Video Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: a...@howshall.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 164884 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=164884=edit Screenshot of DigiKam error message on trying to move a video file that has been recently previewed SUMMARY If you view any video file within latest Windows 8.2 it keeps that video open/locked even after de-selecting. So attempts to move that file via DigiKam or Windows will fail due to the file still being listed as open/in use. Currently the only fix is to play a different video (or exit DigiKam) so that original video will be released STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Preview an video within DigiKam 2. Click off to select (but not play) an alternate image or video within DigiKam thumbnail view 3. Attempt to move original video file to a new folder location via DigiKam or OS OBSERVED RESULT DigiKam and Windows OS say they cannot move the file EXPECTED RESULT DigiKam or Windows should be able to move the file as long as it's not being actively played on selected in preview window SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: 64bit Windows 10 Pro 22H2 digiKam-8.2.0-Win64 macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[digikam] [Bug 479768] Select Album doesn't show all child folders
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=479768 --- Comment #1 from Alan Howshall --- Created attachment 164883 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=164883=edit View of same Select Album panel after manually expanding top folders of initially closed album collections Note there is no visual indication on the actual album name of whether albums do or don't have sub folders (whereas all lower level folders have right or down arrow icon to indicate expandability and open/closed status) Current a user would have to hope/guess they need to double click on album name to see sub folders. And they might be worried to do that thinking that that would move the image(s) they originally selected to just the root of that album collection -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[digikam] [Bug 479768] New: Select Album doesn't show all child folders
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=479768 Bug ID: 479768 Summary: Select Album doesn't show all child folders Classification: Applications Product: digikam Version: 8.2.0 Platform: Other OS: Microsoft Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: a...@howshall.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 164882 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=164882=edit Initial display of Select album dialog with hidden top level folders for 2 out of 3 album collections SUMMARY When selecting an image thumbnail and selecting 'Move to album...' from right click context menu the 'Select album' dialog that opens only shows that there are child directories for the last (/current?) album. Not any other separate album collections. This means a user may think that DigiKam doesn't know or won't allow them to select folders within those other shown closed album collections. Given that there's no visual arrow indication for top level album names, and the user would need to double, not single, click to get DigiKam to expand those hidden top level folders I feel this could cause confusion and problems for many users. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. On DigiKam 8.2 for Windows 2. Ensure that you have more than 1 album collection of images setup, and that each of those collections has at least some top level sub folders 3. Go into one of those album collections 4. Select an image thumbnail and select 'Move to album...' from right click/context menu OBSERVED RESULT When the 'Select albums' panel opens observe that only 1 of album collections is showing sub-folders by default and there is no expand/hide arrow icon on top level album names to indicate that DigiKam knows/allows expansion of that album to see its top level folders. EXPECTED RESULT Either that all albums would display their top level folders by default. Or that album collections need expand/hide arrow icon associated with them (like all lower level folders do) so that there is visual and easy mouse method to expand and contract first level folders of each album's tree SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: 64Bit Windows 10 Pro 22H2 with digiKam-8.2.0-Win64 macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

SUMMARY Some texts in the comic images doesn't appear by making a export from Comic Manager dock. *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Create a comic project from the Comic Manager dock. 2. Write some texts with Text Tool. 3. Select any of the export settings formats such as CBZ, EPUB or TIFF 4. Export the comic project with the Export Comic option from the Comic Manager dock. OBSERVED RESULT Some text wrote don't appear in the images, sometimes yes, but mostly not. EXPECTED RESULT I expected to see all pages with text in the images of comic project folder, but it doesn't work fine. This can be solved by doing a export manually from the bar of Krita where you can see File, Edit, View, Image, Layer, Filter, etc.. If i go to File and make an export with the Export option right there, the text appears in the image, but export like this will take so much time. [korganizer] [Bug 398173] month view font can be resized, but items are still small
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=398173 Alan Porter changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|WAITINGFORINFO |WORKSFORME Status|NEEDSINFO |RESOLVED --- Comment #3 from Alan Porter --- I don't even use korganizer any more... but trying it out today, it looks a little better than what's in the screenshots I attached back in 2018, but still a little squooshed if you make the font size a little on the large size. If no one else has complained, I can't see much reason in digging around to "fix" this one any more than it's already "fixed". Thanks for checking back in. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kdevelop] [Bug 460769] New: Python source file editing problems
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=460769 Bug ID: 460769 Summary: Python source file editing problems Classification: Applications Product: kdevelop Version: 5.9.220802 Platform: OpenSUSE OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kdevelop-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: alanjpresc...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Something of a vague summary, I know but editing Python sources seems to have gone slightly borked in the latest release. At least 2 things I have come across:- Editing class triple-quoted documentation inserts one or more additional indents after Enter Auto-indenting when inserting a Python snippet has been turned back on which makes an awful mess of inserting anything except the most trivial snippet. This was a feature I requested as a wishlist item and I was really pleased to see it implemented so having auto-indenting re-appear is rather annoying. STEPS TO REPRODUCE Snippets 1. Insert a multi-line Python snippet with it's own indenting Triple-quoted class documentation 1. Edit triple quoted class documentation text, press Enter in text OBSERVED RESULT Snippets 1. Inserted snippet has additional indenting as if it had been typed by hand Triple-quoted class documentation 1. Pressing Enter creates a new line indented from the previous line EXPECTED RESULT Snippets Insert the snippet exactly as given or, by preference, all snippet lines preceded by an indent matching the first line. Triple-quoted class documentation On Enter, insert a new line indented the same as the previous line Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20221019 KDE Plasma Version: 5.26.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.99.0 Qt Version: 5.15.6 Kernel Version: 6.0.2-1-default (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i7-8550U CPU @ 1.80GHz Memory: 7.5 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® UHD Graphics 620 Manufacturer: LENOVO Product Name: 81CT System Version: Lenovo YOGA 730-13IKB ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
