Creating a new empty panel (default or empty) gives me the same problem.

How do I get a panel that struts properly again? Should I just destroy this one
and create a new one?

panel settings indicates that it is "always visible" and I tried toggling the
option for "allow windows to cover" and then toggling back. Same problem.

[kwin] [Bug 364859] New: maximized windows appear behind the panels on the left edge

2016-06-28 Thread Alan Ezust via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364859

Bug ID: 364859
Summary: maximized windows appear behind the panels on the left
edge
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.5.5
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: alan.ez...@gmail.com

My panel is on the left edge, rather than the bottom.
New windows, as well as maximized windows, show up with their left edges
covered up by the panel, instead of right next to it. This started happening
after an upgrade a couple of months ago.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Move your panel from bottom edge to the left edge (right click - panel
options - panel settings - screen edge drag to side)
2. maximize any window
3. see it partially obscured by the panel.

Actual Results:
windows are not the right size / position.

Expected Results:
panel doesn't cover up maximized windows.

I have the same issue with a Samsung S4 Mini 9195i - I can view the internal
storage but not the SD card - it seems as if I am missing read permissions to
that folder/mount, because I can see the mount, but its contents are empty.
Android 4.4.4.
