My settings were based on 'Autodetect', SSL on port 465. After I changed this
manually to TLS/587, sending email works

I can see the same problem on Ubuntu-16.04 + Neon

libqt5webengine5 5.9.1+dfsg-2+16.04+xenial+build36

The problem is still there after upgrade to KDE-applications 17.08.0

(KMail 5.6.0)

[kmail2] [Bug 379911] No mail accounts (IMAP) can be created or configured anymore

Hi Michael,

the upstream BZ says: "Pushed by arojas into branch 'Applications/17.04'"

This essentially means that if Neon maintainers do not care about backporthing
this bugfix to 17.04.1 (should be trivial), we will get the fixed package when
17.04.2 is released. According to

https://community.kde.org/Schedules/Applications/17.04_Release_Schedule

this is expected on Thursday, June 8, 2017

Alex

I have remove 'mpd', after that there was only one error - about 'kdeconnectd'.
Then I edited /etc/xdg/autostart/kdeconnectd.desktop and specified the full
path,

Exec=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libexec/kdeconnectd

After that login works fine, without any delays and error popups. So it seems
that the new ksmserver does not process
Exec=lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libexec/kdeconnectd properly (I am not sure how it
should work - trying to prepend '/' and '/usr/' to Exec line?).

The messages are like that: Dialog title is 'Sorry' and the message is like

Could not find program 'lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libexec/kdeconnectd'

It is interesting that kwrited 5.9.4 (Neon) package contains file

/etc/xdg/autostart/kwrited-autostart.desktop

but not 4:5.9.5-0neon+16.04+build33 version:

For other packages, e.g. kdeconnectd, /etc/xdg/autostart/kdeconnectd.desktop is
there. But it specifies

Exec=lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libexec/kdeconnectd

(the exact location is /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libexec/kdeconnectd)

Maybe path lookup is not done properly?

[neon] [Bug 379254] New: ksmserver errors after updating to Plasma 5.9.5

2017-04-26 Thread Alex Sidorenko
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379254

Bug ID: 379254
Summary: ksmserver errors after updating to Plasma 5.9.5
   Product: neon
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Packages User Edition
  Assignee: neon-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: alexandre.sidore...@gmail.com
CC: j...@jriddell.org, neon-b...@kde.org, sit...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

After upgrading to plasma-5.9.5 login is very slow and there are many popups
with errors.

In ~/.xsession-errors:

9:21% grep 'failed to launch' ~/.xsession-errors
ksmserver: autostart service "/etc/xdg/autostart/kdeconnectd.desktop" failed to
launch
ksmserver: autostart service "/etc/xdg/autostart/kwrited-autostart.desktop"
failed to launch
ksmserver: autostart service "/etc/xdg/autostart/kdeconnectd.desktop" failed to
launch
ksmserver: autostart service "/etc/xdg/autostart/kwrited-autostart.desktop"
failed to launch
ksmserver: autostart service "/etc/xdg/autostart/kdeconnectd.desktop" failed to
launch
ksmserver: autostart service "/etc/xdg/autostart/kwrited-autostart.desktop"
failed to launch
ksmserver: autostart service "/etc/xdg/autostart/kwrited-autostart.desktop"
failed to launch
ksmserver: autostart service "/etc/xdg/autostart/kdeconnectd.desktop" failed to
launch
!ksmserver: autostart service "/etc/xdg/autostart/mpd.desktop" failed to launch

The desktop is partially usable after that but it takes a long time until I can
do anything.

[neon] [Bug 379089] kdepim-runtime is missing libkdexoauth2.so - breaks Gmail login

I can confirm this - found this morning after upgrading neon/user that
'saslpluginviewer -c' does not list kdexoauth2.

After creating a symlink manually,

# cd /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu
# ln -s libkdexoauth2.so.3 libkdexoauth2.so

kmail started working normally with GMAIL again

[neon] [Bug 370498] KMail crashes when pressing SPACE while displaying a message

2016-10-15 Thread Alex Sidorenko via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370498

--- Comment #3 from Alex Sidorenko <alexandre.sidore...@gmail.com> ---
This was not really a bug in KDE but rather mismatched shared libraries... So
Neon/User update of 15 Oct 2016 has fixed the problem as it provides KDE
applications 16.08.2 and the new build obviously fixes the issue.

Anyway, it is FIXED now
