[krita] [Bug 488606] New: After Krita launches and you first open a file, the canvas will not show up until you rotate the screen orientation

2024-06-16 Thread AppTest
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=488606

Bug ID: 488606
Summary: After Krita launches and you first open a file, the
canvas will not show up until you rotate the screen
orientation
Classification: Applications
   Product: krita
Version: nightly build (please specify the git hash!)
  Platform: Android
OS: Android 13.x
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Usability
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: xeses16...@tastrg.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Launch Krita, and open the first file after launch (tested with .kra and .png
files), and the canvas will not show up until you rotate the Android device's
screen orientation.

If you close all the open files, and then open another file again, the behavior
will return to normal, with the canvas appearing without the need to change
screen orientation.

The bug will happen again if you quit Krita, launch Krita again, and open a
file, so this is an issue that only happens with the first open file after
launch.

This occurs in the 5.3 nightly. This issue does not happen in Krita 5.2.2.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. See above.
2.
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
See above.

EXPECTED RESULT
Krita should show the canvas right away without needing to change the screen
orientation.

[krita] [Bug 475137] Android, Transform tool: anchor points don't respond to touch-taps like it does on desktop

2024-04-13 Thread AppTest
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=475137

A temporary workaround for Android users without other physical accessories who
wish to accurately activate anchor points is to use the Android apps Shizuku
and Real Mouse.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=moe.shizuku.privileged.api
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.redlee90.realmouse

This will simulate a real mouse on your Android screen which you can use to
click on the anchor points in Krita, after which you can drag with the finger.

Okay, actually, yeah, this one's a bug, because I just realized how anchor
points work in the Windows version. In Windows, you tap an anchor point (it
becomes highlighted), you lift your finger, and THEN you drag the anchor point.

On Android, the anchor point never becomes highlighted upon tapping it, making
points frustratingly difficult to move via finger. This needs fixing to respond
like it does on desktop.

The Freehand Brush Tool and Color Sampler tool under Touch Gestures don't
activate.
Also, the touch gesture for Freehand Selection tool actually activates the
Contiguous Selection tool, so this label is incorrect.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go to Settings, Configure Krita, Canvas Input Settings, Touch Gestures
2. Create a Gesture for Freehand Brush Tool, Color Sampler
3. These gestures won't work. (Move and Transform tools, on the other hand,
work just fine, so the tool gestures are partially functional.)

OBSERVED RESULT
Gestures don't work.

EXPECTED RESULT
Gestures work.

SUMMARY
A bit annoying to have this happen. The action reappears if I modify the
toolbar again. Basically, every time I start Krita, I have to modify the
toolbar to make my "Show/Hide x toolbar" action reppear.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go Settings, Configure Toolbars.
2. Add a "Show/Hide X toolbar" action to your toolbar and save.
3. Restart Krita
4. Said action is now hidden from the toolbar. Your setting is still saved in
the "Configure Toolbars" window, but to show it again, modify your toolbar
settings again, tap "Apply" or "OK"
5. Your action reappears.

OBSERVED RESULT
Krita hides "Show/Hide toolbar" every time I start Krita.

EXPECTED RESULT
For Krita to not hide my action.

2023-11-08 Thread AppTest
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=472705

I just did some testing, and I can confirm this is an accessibility app issue.
I know this because I was able to reproduce the crashing on the second user
account too! Here are the steps I took to reproduce the crash:

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Plus
Android 13 with October 2023 security patch
Samsung One UI 5.1.1
Krita 5.2.1 arm64 apk
(
https://download.kde.org/stable/krita/5.2.1/krita-arm64-v8a-5.2.1-release-signed.apk
)
Accessibility app that causes crashing: Google Voice Access
(
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.accessibility.voiceaccess
)

1. Go to Settings -> Accessibility -> Installed Apps -> Voice Access, and turn
the switch from Off to On. Be sure to setup voice access if you haven't done so
(it has to download a voice file during setup), and make sure notifications for
it are on. Once it's done, you'll have a notification called "Voice Access: Tap
to start". Tap it, and you'll get a blue bubble with "." on the corner to
confirm it is active.

2. Do a fresh install of Krita 5.2.1, and launch it.

3. Start a new drawing with a 5000x4000 resolution. Then, on the Advanced Color
Selector docker, change the brush color to anything else.

4. Krita will crash. If it doesn't, repeat step 3 until it does, without
closing any open documents. (It should definitely crash after repeating step 3
two to three more times.)

5. Notice that this happens with Voice Access enabled. Now, go back to the
device's setting app and turn Voice Access off (the notification should
disappear).

6. This time launch Krira again, and repeat step 3 several times, without
closing any open documents. You will see that it stopped crashing!

Interesting find! If this is true, it would explain why I wasn't getting
crashes on the secondary user: because I went straight to installing Krita
without enabling accessibility apps. I too am a user of accessibility apps
daily, I got Magnification, Google Accessibility Suite, and Google Voice Access
enabled. I haven't tested what turning these off does yet, but it seems the
above comments are sure.

[krita] [Bug 475137] New: Make the transform tool more touch-friendly when dragging points with Free, Perspective, Wrap

2023-10-02 Thread AppTest
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=475137

Bug ID: 475137
Summary: Make the transform tool more touch-friendly when
dragging points with Free, Perspective, Wrap
Classification: Applications
   Product: krita
   Version: 5.1.5
  Platform: Android
OS: Android 13.x
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Tools/Transform
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: xeses16...@tastrg.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

I'm not sure whether this counts as a bug or feature request since I'm not sure
whether this was intentional or not, but the transform tool is very hard to use
when it comes to touch interactions (in other words, using your finger on the
tablet screen).

When using Free, Perspective, or Warp on your layer's contents, if you try to
drag the points with your finger, you likely won't get the intended effect. For
example, dragging a specific anchor point in Warp, or making your selection
thinner in Free. If I try to make it thinner in Free with touch, the tool will
attempt to rotate instead. BUT if I do the same thing with the Samsung S-Pen,
it works perfectly.

Or if I try to drag a specific anchor point, it won't drag the point I put my
finger on. Again, it works perfectly with S-Pen. I doubt it's even a matter of
whether my finger touched the point accurately, because even if I use Android's
magnifier tool to zoom in real close on the screen and touch the point
perfectly, the finger touch still doesn't result in the intended effect.

SOMETIMES I get the intended effect with touch interactions, but it's more
misses than successes that I can't trust to get consistent results.

In short, make touch interactions work just as well as if I was using the
Samsung S-Pen, and I'm a happy person.

I tested it there too, and it also crashes in 5.2 rc1. It can be reproduced
following the same steps I indicated above.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go to Settings, Configure Toolbar, and add enough actions to mainToolbar so
that they can't all fit into the toolbar
2. Go to Settings, Configure Krita, Canvas-only settings, have everything
checked except toolbars and dockers
3. Start a new drawing
4. Activate canvas-only mode (in my case, I used the finger-tap touch shortcut)
5. Click the expand button on the right edge of the toolbar to show all of your
hidden actions
6. Disable canvas-only mode with the finger-tap shortcut

OBSERVED RESULT
Krita will immediately crash.

EXPECTED RESULT
To disable canvas-only mode and not crash.
