Hi Justin,

Thank you for following up this issue. I have not used this feature for a long
time and forget this issue. This bug is still there with Kate Version 22.08.3.
A snapshot has been attached to show the small fonts in the preview panel along
with the normal font size in editing area.

The status has been change accordingly.

Hi Justin, thanks for heads up. I cannot provide further information for this
bug at the moment either.

I have not used Google Contacts with Kaddress book for a long time. I just
tried to add the resource but did not success.

These are the steps I followed,
- In Contacts of Kontact, right click and select Add address Book,
- Select Google groupware, then complete the authentication in web browser,
- Back to Kontact, no address book was added.

Brief searching shows that it may be caused by bug

Hi, I am using a Samsung Galaxy S8 phone too but the Android app does not crash
on launching.

If your phone OS is up-to-date, then please check whether it helps to clear the
data/cache of the KDE Connect app on your phone. To do this,
1. press-and-hold the app icon of KDE Connect and select App info,
2. Tap Storage,
3. Tap Clear data

Note: this will clear all data related to KDE Connect on your phone.

Now, try to launch KDE Connect on your phone and pair the phone to your PC
again.

First, thanks for bringing up this bug. I thought my problem was caused by
something wrong with my setup.

One thing added to the "STEPS TO REPRODUCE" No. 2: it does not have to be envet
from "recent past" but any event in the same series being deleted from Google
Calendar will cause the whole series disappear from KOrganizer. Both updating
and refreshing cannot bring the remaining events in Google Calendar up in
KOrganizer.

I am currently using KDE Applications 18.12.2. And,

[kmail2] [Bug 403770] New: unified mailbox (folder) not update sometimes

2019-01-30 Thread CnZhx
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403770

Bug ID: 403770
   Summary: unified mailbox (folder) not update sometimes
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: folders
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: z...@cnzhx.net
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Unified mailbox (or folder) is amazing feature introduced recently. But
sometimes the unified mailboxes do not update according to incoming new
messages or deleting messages. However, the unified folders could update
themselves after running ```akonadictl fsck && akonadictl restart```.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start Kontact and configure a unified folder to include several inboxes.
2. Restart the machine and start Kontact to make sure the settings are
effective.
3. Wait for new message incoming, or delete some old messages in the list of
the unified folder.

OBSERVED RESULT
The new message appears in the (old fashion) inbox but not in the unified
folder, or the deleted messages do not disappear from the unified folder.

EXPECTED RESULT
New message appears in the unified folder as soon as it appears in the inbox;
the delete messages disappear from the unified folder as soon as they are moved
to the Wastebin from the list of messages in the unified mailbox.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
It shows no obvious pattern of working smoothly or not. If I observe the list
is not updated after a short while, I run ```akonadictl fsck && akonadictl
restart``` to make it updated.

[kdeconnect] [Bug 401908] New: Reply to a SMS on the paired device should also mark the SMS as READ on the phone

2018-12-08 Thread CnZhx
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=401908

Bug ID: 401908
   Summary: Reply to a SMS on the paired device should also mark
the SMS as READ on the phone
   Product: kdeconnect
   Version: 1.10
  Platform: Android
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: android-application
  Assignee: albertv...@gmail.com
  Reporter: z...@cnzhx.net
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Reply to a SMS from desktop via kdeconnect messaging-application should also
mark the SMS, as well as the reply-message itself, on the phone as READ.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Receive a SMS on the phone
2. Reply to the SMS on desktop via KDE Connect
3. Check the status of the SMS and the reply-message on the phone

OBSERVED RESULT
The SMS and the reply-message on the phone are still in unread status.

EXPECTED RESULT
The received SMS and the reply-message on the phone should be in READ status as
they have actually been read by the receiver.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
MacOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma: openSUSE Tumbleweed/KDE Plasma
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.14.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.52.0
Qt Version: 5.11.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Additionally, dismiss the notification entry in the "KDE Connect" plasmoid
(popup from clicking on "KDE Connect" icon in the taskbar of KDE Plasma
desktop) should also mark the SMS as READ on the phone. I assume it has the
same implementation as feature required in the SUMMARY.

That may not be a big problem as I understood you correctly :)

And I can confirm that the SMS on the phone is not marked as READ at the
moment. This feature has to wait for further work or will never be implemented
because of Permission restriction.

But do you mean that even case 2/ in comment #4 does not work for you? Have you
tried the suggested workaround? Does it solve the problem? Sorry if I sounds a
little pushy but it is a process of identifying the real problem. And I can
confirm that case 2/ works for me, which means it might not a bug but some
glitches in your phone or PC system.

[kdeconnect] [Bug 382165] sms notifications are not deleted

2018-12-08 Thread CnZhx
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=382165

--- Comment #4 from CnZhx  ---
Let's make it clearer because what you reported includes two functions.

1/ When one Reply to a new-coming SMS on the PC, the notification on the PC or
in the pull-down list (or notification bar) of the phone will not be dismissed
currently. If you are looking for this behaviour, it has to wait for the
developers to implement. And I suggest you to submit a new bug for this with a
clearer title, for example "SMS notification on the phone should be dismissed
after replying it on the PC".

2/ When a new SMS comes in the phone, a notification is displayed on the the
pull-down list (or notification bar) of the phone, as well as on the desktop of
the PC. On the PC, the notification is showed in a popup and as an entry in the
list of "KDE Connect". If you click the cross ("X") right to the notification
entry for this SMS in the list of the "KDE Connect" (not the "Notifications")
to dismiss it, the notification on the phone will be dismissed, too. This is
the behaviour works currently. If you have such issue, please try the
suggestion in comment #3 and report back.

Moreover, Either 1/ or 2/ will not mark the SMS as read on the phone (sorry, I
have made a wrong statement in comment #1).

Hi, are you still bothered by this? As far as I know, you can delete the
notification of a sms in the "KDE Connect" popup (located in the taskbar of KDE

@Richard Parkins

Could you reproduce such issue in latest version of Konsole and KDE platform?
If not, cold you please close this bug as resolved?

For your information, I see no such problem on my system, which has the
following environment,
```
openSUSE Tumbleweed: 20181116
KDE Plasma: 5.14.3
Qt: 5.11.2
KDE Frameworks: 5.52.0
KDE Applications: 18.08.3
Sorry to hear that. My kmail has not run into any glitch for around three
[kdeconnect] [Bug 377033] Unable to view the phone's filesystem
2018-11-06 Thread CnZhx
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377033
--- Comment #10 from CnZhx  ---
I installed Krusader 2.7.1 just now on openSUSE Tumbleweed. I did not set it as
default file manager, so I copy-n-paste the path from dolphin to open it in
Krusader. No problem has been found with opening the paths but I have not tried
to set Krusader as default (so that if I click the folder icon in KDE Connect
it will ask Krusader instead of Dolpin to open the folder for me).
There is no problem to open the mount point. The path of the mount point for
the Android device is like
"/run/user/1000/ed411c49fbc8b0ca/storage/emulated/0/". And I also have no
problem with opening a kdeconnect path such as
"kdeconnect://ed411c49fbc8b0ca/".
So, maybe the problem is not with KDEConnect but lies in Fedora, such as with
some common components?
For your reference, here is the detail of my system:
```
openSUSE Tumbleweed: 20181029
KDE Plasma: 5.14.2
Qt: 5.11.2
KDE Frameworks: 5.51.0
KDE Applications: 18.08.2

KDEConnect has evolved much during these days?

If it persists, does it help to remove the cached file/folder (for example,

I personally do not have this problem with openSUSE Tumbleweed with Dolphin.

I sometimes run into this too, I think. If I click the window of the

[plasmashell] [Bug 396505] New: Notification popup should only show current entry instead of a list of history entries

2018-07-14 Thread CnZhx
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396505

Bug ID: 396505
   Summary: Notification popup should only show current entry
instead of a list of history entries
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.13.2
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Notifications
  Assignee: k...@privat.broulik.de
  Reporter: z...@cnzhx.net
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

When history of notifications is enabled, there is a list shown in the
click-to-show window of Notifications. However, this list should not be shown
in the new notification window for current event in my opinion.

I am not sure I used the correct terms for the description, so I am going to
describe it in detail. When a new even coming, there is a notification pop up
window notifying user of the new event. This window is not the one that shows
when user clicks the Notifications tray icon. Therefore, this window should
only show the information for the currently incoming event but not the list of
events stored/enabled in the click-to-show window of the Notifications. In
other words, the option of keep a history of notifications should not affect
the behaviour of notification popups but only the click-to-show window of the
Notifications.

When browsing photos in a folder, all the images have sequential ordered names
such as img_001, img_002, etc., the Previous (left arrow) and Next (right
arrow) will give the sequential previous or next photo.

However, when the names of the files are not so obvious, the Previous (left
arrow) and Next (right arrow) no longer gives the sequential previous or next
photo. I think this bug was introduced with 18.04. This behaviour is a bug to
me and Gwenview did not behave like this before.

For example, for following photos in a foler,
```
   Product: okular
   Version: 1.4.1
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: PDF backend
  Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: z...@cnzhx.net
  Target Milestone: ---
Hi there, I report this but I am not really sure about this problem. I used
Okular a lot for paper reading. The settings are almost the same as default,
especially the Performance is set to Normal.
I used to open a lot of papers at the same time and switching between them.
Okular responses quickly. After a while, Okular takes around 5 to 6 GB of ram,
which is not a problem for me as long as the memory is not exhausted. After I
close some PDFs and open some others, the taken RAM keeps increasing but seems
never being released after closure of some documents. That is fine, I think.
However, when there is little memory left for my system to use, like only 0.5
GB left, and I need to open another programme, that causes problem and the
system starts to use swap space. Okular still does not release the memory it
takes. I think this situation need improvement so that Okular could somewhat
release some memory space when some documents have been closed for a long time.
Thank you.
seems still there.
I just copied a 800MB file to a Kingston USB drive that has usually 10+MB/s
write-in capacity. The copying progress is showing for about several seconds at
a speed of around 100MB/s. After this, the Notifier said the copy finished. But
when I tried to reject the USB drive, it took about 2 minutes for removing.
Then, the Notifier said the device can be removed then.
- Rename its configuration file `~/.config/akregatorrc` so that it will be
re-created when akregator starts next time
- Rename the `Archive` directory (`~./local/share/akregator/Archive/`) so that
Akregator could rebuild it at next start. Note: this could make you lost all
--- Comment #2 from CnZhx  ---
As of present in KDE Plasma 5 and KDE Framework 43, Akregator 5.7.2 has,
- "Close other tabs" in the pop up menu of right clicking the tab;
- "Reload" in the pop up menu of right clicking in the page;
- "Detach Tab" in the pop up menu of right clicking the tab, so that the tab
will be opened in default browser such as Firefox. This could be used as a
substitution for "add to bookmarks".
Now, I will close this as "FIXED". Please re-open or submit a new report if you
think otherwise.
Moving mouse cursor on items in a grouped taskbar entry in Windows
In KDE Plasma 5, after opening several instances of one app and letting them
grouped, try to focus one of the several windows. Now in the taskbar, click the
entry to show the popup list of items for the instances. At this point, the
item whose window is focused is highlighted. But the highlighting background
disappears when moving mouse cursor to other items in the same list.
When the list is long and items are having similar names, it is very difficult
to to remember which one is currently focused, especially when one has to
scroll the list to try to select the very next one.
One screenshot is enclosed to show the effect (desired) in Windows 7 as an
example. The deep-color-backgrounded one is pre-focused, and the other one is
currently hovered by mouse.
[kmarkdownwebview] [Bug 390307] Preview of Markdown - fonts too small in HiDPI screen
2018-02-12 Thread CnZhx
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=390307
--- Comment #2 from CnZhx  ---
Hi Friedrich, thank you for looking into this.
To answer your questions,
a) That means the "Force fonts DPI" in "Fonts" of the system is set to 168, and
the "Screen Scaling" in "Display and Monitor" is set to 1. This is because the
following reason. I have a 14" laptop with WQHD display. On the one hand, with
screen scaling of 2, the items on screen are too big so less content can be
displayed. But screen scaling of fractional value (e.g. 1.3) could cause
problems with Konsole and so on. On the other hand, I use an external monitor
now and then. It has a normal DPI of 96. If I set screen scaling to value
larger than 1, elements on the external screen would be too large. Then, I
increase fonts DPI only to make fonts big enough to read (the Fonts sizes are
kept default, e.g. Noto Sans 10 for General).
b) I tried your method to run Kate. The display is just the same as I reported.
In addition to this, I guess it's helpful to mention that I use a font size of
10 in Kate (font family: Hack), which is on the left side of the screenshot. I
would expect the preview of Markdown using sizes of symbol (actual
font/character size) based on visual font size in system settings. So I include
another screenshot with comparison for your reference. Please refer to the next
comment.
This could easily be reproduced in Kate: create a new file and save it in
**m_d**
__m_d__
# Bold not correct when only one symbol (This looks familiar to Bug #70726)
```

When using `journalctl -f` to track the events, I found this kind of messages
pops up when the system reducing and restoring the screen backlight.

This is not a problem but I think the three duplicated messages in the middle
are not necessary to normal user and may cause confusion. However, I do not
know whether they are related to something bigger.

Could anyone look into this and do something like either suppressing the
messages or fixing the problem when it is necessary?

I'd like to confirm that this symptom still exists in recent KMail2. I have
seen my accounts (with IMAP on Gmail) run into tens of thousands percent every

Hi, Nate, thanks for you encouragement. I realised this is an edge case.
Therefore, you may not want to fix it. I understand that's completely natural.

I am using default settings from KDE on openSUSE, which are Noto Sans 10 for
General, Hack 9 for Fixed width, Noto Sans 8 for Small and Noto Sans 10 for
Toolbar, Menu and Window title respectively.

The DPI is forced to 168. When I reduce it to 144, then this problem
disappears. Both cases have scaling set to 1.

scaling set to "1" so the GUI and font in it may not being scaled
proportionally.

I am in a non-standard use case because I have an external display that has
lower DPI. I need to find an acceptable balance between my laptop and this
external screen.
