Sorry, I think it may still be in effect a parsing bug: the string is
malformed, yes, but all the information is there, so it would be right, I
think, to still be able to handle this case, as a matter of robustness.

Of course, this is my opinion as a user, for what it's worth.

I'm a mere user, but this is quite common, for whichever reason -- I have wayyy
too many calendars and sadly some are outlook.

But because it causes crashes, effectively it makes the ews calendar fetching
fail

I apologise, but although the developer is free to do as they wish, this is BS.
Unless it crashes systematically, a slightly unstable kile is vastly more
useful than a somewhat unstable one. As it stands, users can't even help by
reporting issues.

2023-09-21 Thread Cyrille Dunant
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=473897

I have managed to add the agent by creating it in the console, then shutting
down akonadi, then editing the agent config file to add the network section
which was missing:

[network]
Authentication=9
UserName=XXX

I am uncertain the username is required. But the [network] section definitely
is, and I don't know why it's not created.

I can confirm this is related to kmail. Restarting indeed clears the display
issue. I've changed the product.

I will try this. I thought I already had. could it be linked with the headers'
display then?

[Akonadi] [Bug 474538] New: The EWS fetched mails are frequently corrupted

2023-09-15 Thread Cyrille Dunant
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=474538

Bug ID: 474538
Summary: The EWS fetched mails are frequently corrupted
Classification: Frameworks and Libraries
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 5.24.1
  Platform: openSUSE
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: EWS Resource
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: cyrille.dun...@gmail.com
CC: c...@carlschwan.eu, kri...@op.pl
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
The EWS fetched mails are frequently corrupted: the mail itself and its content
are fine, but the show up as (No Subject) with a date of October -4714. When
the cache is deleted and the mails refetched they are listed correctly.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Let the EWS agent run normally

OBSERVED RESULT

Mails are frequently misclassified as having no subject, unknown sender and a
strange date. purging the cache and relaunching fixes it, but it is very
irritating as it happens for a good fraction of the mails requiring frequent
restarts

EXPECTED RESULT

sender subject and date should be reported correctly.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=452480

I solved the bug: it is a packaging error: the library
kcalendar_grantlee_plugin.so is wrongly put in
/usr/lib64/KTextTemplate/kcalendar_grantlee_plugin.so instead of the
grantlee/5.2/ directory.

I'm not too sure how to proceed, but there is either a bug in the build of the
opensuse packaging system.

Maybe this is due to drivers? this is X11, i915. placement is haphazard, too.
If there was a way to disable the feature, I'd have a workaround...

SUMMARY

when drag-and-dropping text, there is visual feedback of the text being d&d but
because the feedback is opaque, the cursor is hidden, and it is very difficult
to place the text in its new location.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. write some text
2. select and drag
3. try to position it...

OBSERVED RESULT

it's very difficult to aim

EXPECTED RESULT

it should be easy. This could easily be achieved by making the feedback
semitransparent.

[plasmashell] [Bug 422535] Plasma blcks acces to microphone for electron apps

2020-07-27 Thread Cyrille Dunant
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=422535

I don't know there's a bug with kwin, but the defaults seem different than
under icewm, for example, where xhost+ is not necessary.

It's not necessarily a bug, but I thought you should know.

I have found the cause for the bug, and thought it would be useful info to pass
on.

It's an issue with the X security: with xhost+, the apps work as expected.

It was, until I played with the plugin config.

I understand that, but typing marble in full does not affect the result.

It's looking like the plugin database is screwed up. I'm going to log out,
clear the cache and retry.

I have two applications runner plugins
 - "Applications" (with the no icon three dots thing)
deactivating that one stops the crash
 - "Command Line"
Looks like it does nothing

running alt-space and typing e.g. marble works as expected with "Applications"
deactivated: marble is displayed as an option (with Applications). The command
line option is not offered.

It's the Applications plugin causing the crash. Weirdly, the command line
doesn't crash but acts like the application one.

[plasmashell] [Bug 422535] New: Plasma blcks acces to microphone for electron apps

2020-06-06 Thread Cyrille Dunant
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=422535

Bug ID: 422535
Summary: Plasma blcks acces to microphone for electron apps
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: grave
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: cyrille.dun...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY

Electron apps -- in particular skype and MS Teams -- cannot see the webcam or
microphone. This occurs under an x11 session, but not under a Wayland session.
This behaviour does not occur under an xfce session, even when kwin_x11
(--replace) is used. Native apps don not seem affected

I have tried to disable the media-player applet, but this didn't change the
result.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Launch a session
2. Launch skype/teams
3. No webcam/mic

OBSERVED RESULT

No webcam or mic.

EXPECTED RESULT

Should be webcam/mic

As a comment -- I don't know if that helps -- I actually resolved the issue by
reconfiguring everything from scratch.

My suspicion is that as I run git snapshots, the configuration sometimes gets
muddled up, and it results in things like emails not being sent.

It is an opensource project, but not released. I am completely fine giving you

Which is good, perhaps. If you still want a copy of my project, I'll send it to
you tomorrow.

[kdevelop] [Bug 357517] Crash in the background parser

2016-01-04 Thread Cyrille Dunant via KDE Bugzilla

I uninstalled the PHP plugin, and the crash disappeared. It may be that trying
to parse the pure c++ project I loaded had side effects...

[kdevelop] [Bug 357517] New: Crash in the background parser

2016-01-04 Thread Cyrille Dunant via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357517

Bug ID: 357517
Summary: Crash in the background parser
   Product: kdevelop
   Version: 4.90.90
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdevelop-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: cyrille.dun...@gmail.com

Application: kdevelop (4.90.90)

Qt Version: 5.5.1
Operating System: Linux 4.3.3-5.g008195a-default x86_64
Distribution: "openSUSE Leap 42.1 (x86_64)"

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

The application crashes when loading the project. It parses a number of files
before crashing but I have not been able to determine if it is a particular
file causing the crash. I suspect not, as it seems to be crashing at a random
point during the parsing.

The crash can be reproduced every time.
