I have uploaded an new version of the digital clock applet to

Can you overwrite (but make a backup first) your files at
/usr/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.digitalclock and try it again?

After overwriting these files you can restart plasma by pressing alt + f2 and
the execute "kquitapp plasmashell && plasmashell".

There is a patch at https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/127393/, which unifies
the font used for the date and the time when the clock is shown in a narrow
panel. But it will in most cases increase the font size of the date label.

If having an option to scale the font size is important to you, you might want
to create a feature request just for that.
