I reinstalled the XP-Pen driver software and this time restarted the computer
and that took care of the problem. The tablet now works as intended.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Touch the pen to the tablet to draw or paint.
2.

OBSERVED RESULT
Krita crashes immediately.

EXPECTED RESULT
Krita pen performing function of selected brush when using XP-Pen Artist 13
(second generation) tablet.
